Bra frukost där man kunde välja olika varianter med stekt mat etc och en otroligt god färskpressad apelsinjuice. Sängen var.fantastisk med sänghimmel i snidad mahogny. Inget att klaga på alls.

• Cornelis (9/5): Aangenaam verblijf met verrassende ontmoetingen. - Bijzonder vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel.was op fietsvakantie en mocht de fiets in het hotel zetten. Daarnaast bijzonder lekkere Indiase curry gegeten in het restaurant en s’morgens een goed ontbijt. Wat mij betreft een aanrader voor fietsers op de groene ronde van Ierland. Sanitair is enigszins gedateerd.
• Igor Magès (10/5): Tout était parfait et dépassait nos attentes - Un personnel au petit soin, nous avons séjourné avec un grand groupe (30 personnes), et avons adoré séjourner ici. Les chambres sont propres, et un rafraichissement ne ferrait pas de mal. Mais le restaurant était délicieux, le personnel d'une sympathie incroyable ! On les remercie fortement !

The breakfast was really amazing, lots of choices, great suggestions from the stuff and easy to tailor to your preferences. Absolutely recommended!

• Asunción (8/5): - “Hotel peculiar, con encanto y dueños muy amables. Está en las afueras, pero en coche llegas al centro en 2 minutos. La primera impresión es un poco tétrica porque es grande y oscuro por fuera, pero por dentro te recibe una mezcla sorprendentemente de iconografía católica e hindú, seguramente por los dueños, que le daba un carácter único. La habitación me sorprendió para bien: muy amplia, cama con dosel, calefacción estupenda, y moqueta nueva. El baño se ve más anticuado (se me atoró el lavabo pero lo solucionaron al momento y me explicaron el problema). El desayuno irlandés fue buenísimo, abundante y bien cocinado. En general se nota que el edificio es antiguo y que están reformando a su ritmo, pero se agradece el trato y el espacio. Ideal si buscas algo diferente, tranquilo y con trato familiar. Nos sorprendió que nos ofrecieran cena hasta las 12, de la noche ya que en el resto de zonas visitadas fue complicado encontrar restaurante a partir de las 20 horas. Olíaen los pasillos un poco a edificio viejo, no a desagüe, pero había velas ambientadoras. Aceptable para mi.

Het hotel heeft een luxe uitstraling maar is verouderd. Dus...lampen die er niet zijn of niet werken, veel roest, er uit hangende stopcontacten. Kortom gedateerd interieur. Verwacht geen moderne luxe
• sharma (3/5): The hotel does not measure up to its competitors in the same price range/location- falls far short - The manager ,Pramod, and his wife are good people and you could not ask for more from them . They tried more than their best to make my stay comfortable. He was upfront that the hot running water was not available due to a system malfunction and I could try another hotel -but at that late hour there was no option open to me and I chose to stay . Pramod did not charge me for the vegetarian dinner and a pint of Guinness (it was a well pulled pint ) despite my keenness to pay for it . He arranged an electric heater in the room and carried two buckets of hot water to my room the next morning and I felt sorry for him . Please note that my negative review is NOT because no running hot water was available - I was made aware of the deficit and i made a decision to stay despite the issue. The location is close to the Tarbert Ferry which helped me . 1. the parking area is unkempt and neglected , the rear yard has broken children's swing, used water bottles strewn about 2. the hotel itself has a run down , dated feel and look 3. the bedroom (115) had dated furniture ,a left over base for a past kettle , a furred kettle , a bathroom with a dirty floor , poor repair , bathtub panel which had come away and with moisture sodden wood visible and a poorly repaired shower screen, rusted radiator[ all photos available on request].
• 86kirac (10/5): Amazing curry - Went out for a family dinner with our neighbors here. Couldn't recommend enough! Nice selection of food on the menu something for everyone! I got the lamb curry which was delicious and full of flavor! The lamb was cooked perfectly very tender and soft. We were given the option of how spicy we prefer our currys and I got mild, but my family got spicy and throughly enjoyed, commenting it was just the right amount of spice! The portion was big and served with rice, salad, naan and popadom. The owner /server was very attentive and kind and couldn't do more for us. Very welcoming and lovely to chat to. He even brought us out a complementary delish traditional lentil dish which was pared with a mango chutney. Really had a lovely evening, thank you.
• lisawR9856EP (10/5): Fantastic breakfast. - We had a group breakfast booked for St Patrick’s day. Fabulous service, they couldn’t do enough for us. Freshly squeezed orange juice and lovely coffee. They even treated the group to cake. We will definitely be back. We need to try dinner next.

• Z9807IFannd (2/5): Avoid - I have written out many comments about various trips all around the world however when it comes to the lantern, it's very hard to describe ; having already stayed at various hotels and B&Bs was looking forward to the lantern however on arrival was Overpowered by what previous comments have mentioned the smell of incest was nauseous We were shown to our room down a dark dingy corridor The room was very bleak bed ware was very worn and skimpy view out the window was black bags and a shopping trolley decided to go into the bar for a drink which was empty except for a lady from the village who was having some lunch after talking to her She did say comes here occasionally doesn't know how they survive as there's nobody here the tables were all set out for breakfast complete with white tablecloths et cetera however it's in became a apparent we were the only people staying at The lantern very Erie in fact very uncomfortable has could hear in other bedrooms TVs and people talking but never saw anybody was so happy to check out without breakfast: How do they make a living if no one uses the establishment? Avoid is my tip

• timmO2338CT (10/5): Would stay again there's alot worse. - The Staff are so friendly and people are complaining to much on some of these reviews, yes a few things need a bit of tlc, but it's in the middle of no where and the staff work all day and and very hard...people are moaning about the smell of incent sticks I like that personally and the curry and Paratha is delicious.

• Michelle (6/5): - Geweldig gegeten in het bijbehorende restaurant. Personeel van het restaurant en hotel waren super lief en vriendelijk. Enorm gehorig en overlast van andere gasten. Hotel heeft geprobeerd snel wat op te knappen en heeft het hierdoor slordig gedaan. Bed was afschuwelijk.
• Els (5/5): Disappointed - Stff we're friendly. The bathroom light flickered, the stop of bathroom sink could not be removed and towel rail was rusty. I was told the bar closes at 11.30 pm, when I returned at 10.30 pm it was dark and when I asked reception i was told it was closed. There was no shampoo in the bathroom only bar of soap. Fosty smell from the carpets in the corridor. Exterior looked like the place was closed up.

Staff went above and beyond to accommodate our needs, very friendly and attentive. Fabulous four poster bed in an evidently once stately home-made me feel very grand! The potential of this place is huge and it is quirky, which I like. The hotel in general could benefit from some care and updating, but a property of this size it takes time to do - just don’t lose the historical charm! Reviews about religious artefacts are true, it has many; not my thing but not offensive, just part of the decor.

• Paul (8/5): Huge potential - Courteous and attentive staff. Comfortable room, good size. Excellent breakfast. Some of the decor needs upgrading (eg. Carpets). The grounds need attention and work on the kerb appeal, as the outside does not reflect the many good points within.

Great potential though
