- Richard (9/5): Very enjoyable stay at The Plough. Staff very pleasant and helpful. - Very good. Plenty of choices. Bathroom a little tired.
Dinner menu could have a few more choices but what we had was very good.
- Diane (9/5): It was better than we expected we were pleasantly surprised - The breakfast was very nice Nothing we were quite happy and would stay again when we are in the area. Will definitely recommend.
- Guest (9/5): Excellent hosts does not dissappoint very customer focused - Great location for my business needs having to leave but, would stay here again
- Kay Willsher (8/5): -
- Beverley (10/5): The Plough is a very clean very comfortable place to stay with very friendly staff - There was a good selection and it was all very tasty
- Stephen (10/5): - Breakfast and evening meals were superb.
- Guest (6/5): I would definitely visit the area again but would stay somewhere else. - The surrounding area within a short drive. The breakfast was nice but I found the male (maybe owner) a bit rude and quite abrupt in his manner.
He asked my Daughter (adult) to “move out of the way” when she came to greet us and say hello so he could get us to fill out a form on arrival. And at breakfast (nice) when he asked if I wanted tea or coffee and I explained that I didn’t drink hot Beverages he replied “nothing then”!
Even though later he offered everyone fruit juice which surely should have been offered when I said that I didn’t drink hot drinks?
We booked last minute to joined my Daughter and our Grandchildren so the only room left was a twin room which wasn’t a problem but the beds were very uncomfortable.
- Albert (9/5): Friendly staff and comfortable accommodation - Convince of having the pub close for meals and drinks. Very close to the main road.
- martin (9/5): Easy parking, large room, great value for money in this area. Highly recommended ! ! - Room was very clean and very large with comfortable bed in a quiet location. Private bathroom was huge! All facilities were there, no faults. Cooked breakfast rather small, but very tasty nonetheless, and included in the price.
- geoffrey (7/5): - The food and location were excellent, the staff were excellent. The bed was uncomfortable, mattress was lumpy, needs replacing, had a bad night's sleep.
- Thabo (10/5): - The staff is great, property well maintained and every runs properly. We had a great time at the Plough
- Tamsin (9/5): Lovely place to stay! - Lovely peaceful area, the pub is absolutely beautiful with gorgeous decor inside and a really homey feel. Very comfortable room, clean and spacious. Kettle and hot drinks, cookies provided. We had an evening meal which was very good, very attentive landlord and quick service.. There's a lovely beer garden with play equipment and lots of tables. Bonus, room on ground floor so no stairs and lots of plants and flowers around the annex. Definitely would recommend this lovely inn. Small niggle with the wet room, the floor stayed wet for hours, needs better drainage or a mop in there.
- Caroline (9/5): It was just right - Nice room and attentive service Liked everything

- Rachel (9/5): Lovely place to stay, clean and comfy and spacious with good food and helpful, friendly staff - Great sized rooms, separate bath and shower :) Lovely and helpful staff. Good food, tasty breakfast. Tbh the location was fine for us, I guess it would be nice to be in the village, whereas the location is on the by pass. But it is a nice walk into the village.

- Carole (8/5): A lovely surprise. - Very friendly manager. The room was more spacious then I had expected with a large separate bathroom. Excellent shower unit. Quality toiletries provided. Large beer garden and a small courtyard. Would have given a full 10 if there was a mini fridge for cold drinks and perhaps a king sized bed. Nothing I didnt like.
- Gavin (10/5): Great stay, definitely one to come back to - First time using a dog friendly hotel, so was a little cautious about what to expect, however no need whatsoever. Great hotel, great location and great staff. Very friendly and made us very welcome.
- David (10/5): We will return! - Smart and clean decor, comfortable bed and other furniture. Outdoor seating area. Excellent food. a little heat to the bathroom towel rail would have been appreciated
- Patricia (9/5): Good room conveniences. great food - Great choice for breakfast nothing
- Rosamund (4/5): Disappointing - The mattress should be replaced, I woke up each morning with back ache and felt stiff and achy well into the morning. For this price I would expect a decent bed.
- Susan (7/5): Good -
- Verified traveler (6/5): Comfy, clean, but service let it down - We've stayed here before and enjoyed it. Rooms are basic but very comfortable, and clean. Plenty of hot water. Weirdly no soap dispenser accessible from the bath but apart from that all good. Beds comfy - all this is why we've stayed here twice before for an overnight stop off. It was the service that let things down this time - evening meal, and breakfast the guy who served us seemed very rushed, impatient and like he didn't want us there. Which seems strange considering how quiet it was. Had this not been the situation, then I'm sure we'd have said it remained great and we'd still stay again. But to be honest, we're not sure we will now.
- Sargent (8/5): Very good -
- Angie (8/5): Really enjoyed our two night stay - service and staff were very friendly and accomodating - even happy to make sandwich - Nice size room with both Double & Single bed with sofa and bathroom with bath & shower
Just a few steps to pub for meals There was nothing I didn’t like
- Natalie (10/5): - Easy check in process. Staff very attentive and the food was excellent.
- David (8/5): - Nice accommodation and the food at the pub was excellent.
- Paula (10/5): Great find - Huge room and huge bathroom with comfortable bed and a very powerful shower. Great food and great service. Although it was on a main road there was no road noise and it was very easy to get in and out of the 'junction'.
- June (7/5): Good -
- Tina (9/5): The Plough is a good place to stay and the staff very friendly. - We loved the spacious rooms, full of light with comfy beds. The Plough is dog and child friendly. There is plenty of dog walks and a safe play area for children.
There is a restaurant on site serving pub style food and breakfast was included in the price. The Plough was easy to find and was good value for money. Nothing.
- Elizabeth (8/5): Good and will go back again. - The location and the facilities were good.
- James (10/5): Exceptional -
- Richard (10/5): Very much on our list of accommodation. - The breakfasts and dinners were tasty, well-prepared and the service superb. The location in rural Suffolk is just idyllic with lovely villages nearby, such as Walberswick and Southwold. Minsmere RSPB Reserve is nearby, too.
- Paul (10/5): Lovely hotel - fantastic location and amazing breakfast - Lovely spacious bedroom, cozy pub in a peaceful location. Friendly staff and the breakfast was amazing - the full English did not disappoint. Highly recommended. N/a
- Eamon (5/5): Passable -
- Patricia (10/5): EXCELLENT LOCATION ROOM AND FOOD - WE LOVED THE LARGE LIGHT COMFORTABLE ROOM. IT HAD A VERY SPACIOUS BATHROOM. WITH BATH AND SEPARATE SHOWER. EVERYTHING WAS VERY CLEAN.
THE LOCATION WAS VERY CONVENIENT FOR OUR TRIP TO SOUTHWOLD. EASY TO FIND.
OUR HOST WAS VERY FRINDLY. BREAKFAST WAS EXCELLENT. WITH PLENTY OF CHOICE. AS WERE OUR EVENING MEALS.
A GREAT STAY NOTHING
- Michele (9/5): An excellent choice for a short break - Good sized bedroom and bathroom with a separate area for coats and shoes. Excellent choice of cooked breakfast. Great location with plenty of parking. Will definitely return. N/A
- Debbie (8/5): Ideal location for Southwold by car - Shenise welcomed us with a smile and was so efficient, professional and upbeat managing all aspects from check in, the bar, breakfast and evening meals and offering places to visit during our stay. The full English breakfasts were delicious and a lot of variety using good produce and would recommend. The bedroom was spacious and the large walk in shower had hot water. Loved the welcome touches of the tea, coffee, water and biscuits provided and replenished daily.
- Jean (8/5): Good value as it included a great breakfast. - Friendly staff, clean, handy location, fab breakfast. We had a large room but the bed was tiny and very hard!
- David (9/5): Superb -
- Steve (8/5): Very good -
- Evgenia (9/5): Great value for money. - everything was great, room size was very impressive. -
- Iain (8/5): Good value comfortable accommodation - Very clean and spacious room, warm. Friendly staff. Easy parking. Breakfast. I found the dinner bland but that might be my personal taste.
- Pavlos (9/5): Superb -
- Mark (10/5): Lovely stay - Lovely hosts and amazing food Na
- Kim (8/5): Very good - Large room, comfy beds, great food at the pub We noticed an unpleasant smell in the entrance to the room, maybe eminating from the carpet. It looked completely clean but wondered if some milk had been spilt. When we mentioned it they said they'd look into it. It did seem to get like better, but that might've been because we kept a window open and it didn't spoil our stay.
- Zoe (10/5): - Great location for a last minute trip to the Suffolk Coast! Few minutes drive from Southwold. Very spacious and clean family room with a nice breakfast included. All staff we met were helpful and friendly. Would recommend.
- Louise (8/5): Very good - Great breakfast, lovely spacious clean room and friendly staff.
- Belinda (10/5): Great - Lovely spacious room Times of breakfast but understand why they are the time they are
- Paul (10/5): Another enjoyable stay. - Stayed here in early March for the third time. Greeted on our arrival and shiwn to our room. All staff we came in to comtact with were helpful and friendly.
Rooms are very clean and spacious witb enough plug sockets for todays charging needs. Beds are comfortable. Shower works well and the bathroom has lots of space.
Breakfast was excellent as were the two meals we had in the restaurant. Perfectly cooked and tailored to my fussy taste. Good selection of beer and spirits. A great example of a well run business.
- Mark (8/5): Very good -
- Ken (8/5): - Friendly and polite staff
- Brad (8/5): Very good -
- John (10/5): Very comfortable - The location was excellent, very friendly staff lovely food we had an evening meal excellent value ,
- Julie (9/5): Pleasant stay - The location was convenient and not too far from where we needed to be. The staff were excellent, in particular Ian, who was very helpful, especially when we needed to extend the stay for a night. All in all we would definitely stay there again if necessary.
- Tracey (10/5): Lovely last min night away. Breakfast was delicious! - Dog friendly, nice staff, good food, comfortable and clean rooms.
- Georgina (8/5): - Very nice breakfast
Single bed was a bit small
Missed a bath but good overall 😊
- Sovman (9/5): Clean accommodation, staff very friendly and helpful. -
- Verified traveler (8/5): Lovely pub and decent room - The room was off a court yard, it was a double room with sofa bed and was adequate size with a small private entrace hall, with the room and bathroom off it. Handy for kicking shoes and coats off and leaving there. The bathroom and room were large. The batroom had a separate bath and shower, the bath was a little dusty and the fittings a little dated but it was clean other wise. The room was clean, comfortable bed and adequate drinks making facilities. The pub served a lovely evening meal and breakfast. It was dog friendly - but not ott, no fuss made of dog or treats or water bowls that I saw. But definately dog tolerant.
- Mervyn (5/5): Been several times and enjoyed our stay, Doubt we will return in winter. - We have stayed at The Plough before and in room 5. As before , very clean and comfortable.
Took a while to get checked in as there was a large Funeral party and only 2 staff. Room was cold on arrival and heating didn't come on until 5 o clock. Not good in January
- Phillip (3/5): Disappointed - No hot water on the first night of the stay, isolated from other amenities
- Louise (9/5): Perfect pub & rooms - Lovely food, friendly staff, cosy pub, spacious & comfy room. Perfect stay.
- Kerry (8/5): Very good would recommend to others - Very comfy . Staff very attentive . Good location . Some traffic noise
- Natasha (10/5): Exceptional -
- Nadine (9/5): Very good. - We have stayed before. The property was very close to our friends. We were booked in as a family of three but only two bath towels were in the bathroom.
- Martin (7/5): Good -
- Martin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Sarah (10/5): Excellent Hotel - Breakfast was great,
location was out side village but works for me.
Rooms are like little cottages adjacent to the pub
Dinner in the pub was very nice
Staff are excellent
Looking forward to booking in the new year
Really Star of a stay postcode wasn't exactly to the hotel
but easily sorted with google maps!
Nothing else to comment on!
Breakfast not served until 8am, which is a little late for work
- Susan (9/5): Lovely location and fabulous room. - The room, the shower, the location. It was dog friendly. Nothing
- Jade (9/5): A lovely stay at The Plough, spotlessly clean, comfy beds, friendly staff and a great breakfast! - Friendly staff, spotlessly clean and spacious accommodation with a comfy bed. Plenty of on site parking. The breakfast was lovely and it’s located in a beautiful part of Suffolk with lots to explore. All perfect, I probably would not recommend to customers who don’t drive, as The Plough is not located within a town / village.
