• rebecca (3/5): Wouldn’t return - If I’m very honest not a lot Beds are so bad and very lumpy need new mattresses Bathroom was not cleaned to good standard floor in bathroom sticky and smelt of urine Carpets and whole rooms very dated. Not much the hotel is dated
• HELEN (8/5): Really nice rooms and well equipped. Great for a couple of nights. - Lovely comfortable hotel in a quiet area near the beach and sand dunes not far from the centre of Barrow Can get a bit draughty in the restaurant when people are going in and out of the conservatory doors

• Wiktoria (8/5): Very good for someone who needs a place to stay last minute - Had to book very last minute. The price was fair to the standards. All my partner and I needed is somewhere to sleep and take a shower and that was more than enough. Staff was very friendly and a very big plus is that they have a restaurant - good for someone who travelled for a very long time and needs to eat One of the towels was dirty. The shower curtain smelled a little and there was visible fingerprints on the bathroom tiles .

• Luke (7/5): Very good stay, comfortable beds and great hospitality. - The hotel was very lovely and clean. The staff were amazing on site and the food from the restaurant was brilliant and lovely! The hotel room was nice and clean, the beds were comfortable to sleep in and the pillow cases and covers/duvets were clean too. The shower was a decent size and it is adjustable for tall people.

We went down for 9am , there was not skit left 2 eggs 3 sausages not even a full spoon of wet runny scrambled egg , 1 yougart and some fruit . Plenty of cereal. Coffee was cold . Two toasters plenty of bread . The girl who seen to us had moody trainers on like she’d been playing rugby on a winters day . Tables were dirty , it was a massive let down after the food we had the previous night

• NEIL (5/5): Good value and good food but check the mattress on arrival - Very nicely presented My mattress was absolutely rockhard. I asked for a mattress mattress topper which they didn’t have but they put a duvet on the bed then put a sheet on it that made it better. In the evening, I am not sure if they were shortstaffed but it felt slightly chaotic.

I can’t believe they hold weddings at the price they do in such a dirty, now non respecta - The initial theme is brilliant but needs the decoration updating and the rooms and carpets!!! The space is amazing but should be used differently. The rooms were dirty with dust and things hadn’t been cleaned properly ie cups! No facilities in the room ie hairdryer, no toilet brush or cleaning product for the loo! Carpets were disgusting, staff acted like they didn’t know what they were doing! A 50th party event that u could hear the music on top of the restaurant music, cutlery was dirty, asked for coke got Pepsi with ice! The butter chicken no where states it has a bit of a spice kick! Our room looked out onto an old lorry back and the bins and we could smell the good cooking down stairs. Overall- ABSOLUTELY SHOCKINGLY POOR!!!!!

Only noticed on last day that you had to put card on door if you needed room service. Would have been better if this had been explained or an information card was in the room. Rooms are dated and tired and need some TLC.

• Debbie (9/5): Convenient location for visiting family in Barrow - Location Clean comfortable rooms, we booked 3 doubles as a family. Staff friendly and helpful.
• Buckley (10/5): - We stayed here for just 1 night with our dogs for our anniversary after visiting windermere for the day & seeing the amazing reviews about the hotel being dog friendly. On arrival, we checked in & found our room didn't lock. Very quickly the manager & lady on reception dealt with it & we were moved to another room which seemed to be an upgraded room also. The bed & room was HUGE & it also gave us more space in the room for our two big dog beds we'd brought so no complaints there! The room was lovely, clean & provided little bottle of toiletries, which was a nice touch & helpful because I'd forgot my body lotion. We didn't get breakfast in the morning as my partner & I aren't big eaters in the morning. We slept really well & I wish we'd had chance to stay longer. We did want to book longer for a holiday in May however the £15 per dog per night cleaning fee put me off a little as over the 4 nights we wanted to stay, it would have added £120 to our bill which would have put us over budget for the holiday. From previous places we've stopped in, we've paid a one off cleaning fee regardless of how many nights we've stopped (per dog). However I can also understand that you get alsorts of slobby, shedding, dogs & potentially any dog can leave a mess so can see why the hotel also does it, but it does make it out of budget for a longer stay for us personally. I would definitely come back for a short stay in the future though. The proximity to the beach is fantastic, it was howling & rainy when we left on the morning so we didn't get to enjoy the beach but it was a factor for booking in the end. It was a very peaceful & picturesque stay, the hotel was maintained really well & whilst there was a function on downstairs we couldn't hear a thing from the side of the hotel with the rooms. The staff were super friendly, couldn't do enough to help.

• Cheryl (10/5): Fantastic Hotel - Wonderful checkin with very Friendly staff. Beautifully decorated hotel. Rooms are spacious and spotless even though they are pet friendly. The hotel is wonderful as dogs are allowed everywhere. Beautiful fresh linen and white towels. Breakfast was lovely buffet and fresh. We will definitely be back again. It is such a nice stop over while exploring the South Lake area. That we only stayed one night

• Marcin (3/5): - The entrance and outside are nice The rooms are old and dated definitely not the ones that are showed on photos staff is poorly trained no idea what is happening and look clueless especially in the restaurant had like 5 different people serve me and none knew or remembered anything I would say to one of them annoying if you need anything like the bill took ages told two people and a third one came to finally let me pay but also asked so I’m assuming he didn’t know either. Overall bad staff ok place but definitely catfished with pictures
• Saunder (9/5): Gem of a place - The vibe. I loved the vibe. Very unusual. I liked the fact I could walk the dog easily, and she was welcomed hugely by all the staff. Loved the big car park, plenty of space. The view from the window. I enjoyed the staff. Gareth was my first interaction on the desk, and he was professional and lovely. Kyan next, behind the bar, what a smashing quirky fella! The food was exceptional. Chef cares about what goes on the pass. That is so obvious. I'd come here again just for the food. There are so many things to like here. This is not a Travelodge. This is not a Marriot. This is quite unique. I would have preferred a bath. A lift also may have been welcome.
