There weren't any clear instructions on how to use the air con facilities in the room, however we got it working eventually. The bed was uncomfortable apart from that the room was lovely .

- Mel (8/5): Beautiful venue. - Breakfast choices very good. Cooked meal was a little underwhelming, until we realised that you could tell the server what you wanted in the way of amount. I would have preferred a buffet selection for the continental cereals, pastries etc, as you can then see what you are choosing, rather than guessing, and ordering through the server. Evening meal choices on the relaxed dining menu were rather limited. We had the fish and chips on one evening, and as it was plaice, it turned out to be mainly batter...very crispy batter...but hard to digest past a certain age! I would have preferred it to be tempura batter, or just pan fried. Dining room manager was exceptionally charming and helpful. As above with regard to breakfast and dinner. Plus one member of staff was rather joyless. It would have been helpful if someone had offered to carry our bags for us up to the room on arrival, as we didn't know that we had to get up a spiral staircase. Also the taps in the bathroom turn the wrong way to get hot water, both on the basin and bath taps in Room 3. This is why both the basin and bath taps are loose and swivel alarmingly! All guests would be initially turning them the wrong way because of this fault. People in the suite behind us had their TV on really loud, and were talking loudly at 12.30 at night and woke us up. We had to call reception to ask them to be respectful of the needs of others. The wall between the two rooms clearly needs more insulation to avoid this.

- Mart (7/5): Goed rustig verblijf, lekker geslapen. - Ruime mooie kamer in het bijgebouw, goed bed, goed geslapen. Was lekker rustig. Een heerlijk ontbijt via een menukaart (was inbegrepen) . Was alleen handiger geweest als er wat uitleg werd gegeven want je kon blijkbaar meerdere gerechten kiezen, dat was voor ons niet echt duidelijk. De badkamer ( kamer 24) leek wel een sauna. Er werd door de avond-receptie niet echt vriendelijk gereageerd op onze klacht: draai maar dicht de verwarming. Daar we pas later weer op onze kamer kwamen en ontdekten dat er niets dicht te draaien viel ( geen knop) zijn we pas in de ochtend weer wat gaan zeggen. The food was on the expensive side but cooked to a Michelin standard, well done Mr Chef. Overall it was ten out of ten. Nothing. There was however an obnoxious guest in the restaurant who was loud brash and made life miserable for the waiter and chef. It’s such a shame that people belittle others in front of guests because they think they know better. This individual spoilt the evening and I feel sorry for the guy who served us with 100% satisfaction. Well done for not loosing your temper at this small minded idiot.

A great castle, a phenomenal team of staff. We were lucky to be able to meet the owners of the castle who were visiting from the USA to celebrate the 40th anniversary of their ownership of Langley Castle. What wonderful people, who care for their team tho work in the castle. They have built a built a team who deliver a great guest experience for the castle guests. Everything.

Great setting no wonder they do weddings here. And soft bathroom towels and knock you over shower pressure.lots of pillows. Peacocks can be loud .did not bother me sleeping at all. Our room was a short walk down the hill rather than in the castle as we had hoped but nevertheless was a comfortable place to stay. The Breakfast was ok, there were clearly some issues in the kitchen on the morning we were there. The Breakfast took some time to come out and my meal was warm not hot. The scrambled eggs were also a rather strange curdled consistency and not particularly nice.

- Emma (10/5): Practically Perfect Place to Stay - What an amazing place to visit. The staff were all so welcoming and professional. The decor and the castle itself were all wonderful. All the food we had was delightful as well. We were lucky enough to have food weather. Taking a stroll around the grounds before breakfast made it even better. The tap water in the sink seemed hot for both taps in the room we stayed in (2). Not a real problem, but literally the only thing that wasn't perfect.

- Nick (10/5): We will be back - The staff were warm, welcoming and helpful. The castle and its outhouses were well kept and tastefully decorated following the sort of theme and grandeur you'd expect throughout from a 14th century castle. Our room was spacious with an impressively sized bed and with a functional bathroom attached, which included a nice, powerful shower. The morning tour of the battlements was brilliant and the history of the castle and local area were well-researched and fascinating to learn about. In addition to all of this, and quite possibly the even bigger standout of our visit was the quality of the food. We dined in the castle's restaurant in the evening and had the best meal we've had in a long time. This is well and truly deserving of the two rosettes it has been awarded and we have already recommended it to friends and family. In summary, we had a fantastic experience and can't recommend it enough. As a minor point the couch in the bedroom was not comfortable and the bed (whilst we had an excellent sleep in it), was a lot softer than we're used to but this is only a personal preference.

There was limited choice on the evening menu. We had to ask for the onions as they didn't arrive with the steak. Brownie served cold and it was very dry apparently it was vegan. The late bottled vintage port had lots if sediment in the bottom so we had it removed from our bill.

The drawing room and dining room were both very stunning and the staff was lovely. The food was excellent and they were very patient with our fussy toddler. The room we got was very spacious, I think it was one of the last rooms available so it definitely wasn't the prettiest, but it was comfortable. The room was clean, but inside the drawers of the dressers could have been better dusted. The shower was difficult to operate but once I figured it out, it was fine.

- PBlake (10/5): Fantastic Hotel, made better by great staff - The location is far enough from the main road for it to be peaceful but not too far to be inconvenient. Rooms are large, well equipped, warm and clean. Food is brilliant. But what really makes this place is the staff, the level of service is worthy of any 5* we have stayed in. The building and grounds are a real crowd pleaser. We stayed 3 nights and they ran out of the wine we were drinking on night 3. That is the only fault.

Stayed in one of the Castle View suites and the room was gorgeous. Lovely and clean with everything we could need. Even lovely Espa toiletries in the bathroom. Gorgeous breakfast served by really welcoming staff in a stunning period setting. The lady in reception was especially friendly and helpful. Even had Peacocks outside of our suite on arrival. Just a perfect venue and a perfect overnight stay. Thankyou ❤️🦚

All food was excellent, we ate off both menus, always tasty and hot food. Excellent staff throughout, always friendly and efficient. Take the morning battlements tour, very interesting and great views. Lovely relaxing 3 days.

- 217peterm (8/5): Lovely surroundings, comfortable, great food.Avoid staying during Peacock mating season !! - We had room 18 in CastleView, which is some distance from the actual castle, especially if you are disabled. The room itself was very comfortable, not particularly clean, the curtains were very dusty and the television didn’t work! The main problem was the screeching of mating Peacocks that started at about 2:00 am and went on intermittently through the night. Not what you expect at the prices charged for your stay. The restaurant and food were excellent and the staff were efficient and friendly. Overall a little disappointing, considering the cost. .
- Anthony (7/5): If you want to stay IN the castle it’ll cost you a lot more than in Castle View - The location is lovely, on arrival the whole scene is dramatic with the castle and grounds looking over the landscape. The grounds are in excellent condition The peacocks mating and screeching at 2:00 am, which continued intermittently all night.

The food was first rate, especially the choice of breakfast. A lovely surprise for my partner whose birthday it was also. We will definitely recommend it to others and will be returning later in the year. There was nothing we didn’t like.
