- Scott (2/5): - Breakfast wasnt put out until 1.5 hour past its start time and its was full dried out day old kwik trip donuts
- Valerie (2/5): - The room had old decor that had dried grasses that dropped onto the bed and headboard. Everything was dusty. The "breakfast" was in a closed off room with wet carpet and fruit flies. Sugar was crusted onto the jar and would not come out. I just gave up and spilled it out. New management would be good to keep the place clean as staff just sits on couch in front of TV. They could also make simple repairs. We wont be back. Unfortunately. *note: When we were checking out, there was one young staff that was very friendly that may have been housekeeping. So not all was terrible.
- Susan (6/5): - Musty smelling, plastic on roof indicates roof had leaked. No glasses in room or bathroom. Not exceptionally clean. Often unstaffed, with sign to call a number for assistance.

- Brian (4/5): It is unlikely that we will return. - Room was musty, sheets and pillow cases were stained, and seemed dirty and we saw bed bugs in the bed. Also front doors were very dirty, parking lot was in bad shape, and ceiling of outdoor car port was missing panels and was in in generally poor condition. We were only there for approximately 15 minutes. On top of all this, the rate was not that reasonable either.
- Joe (6/5): - Room was extremely dirty. Tons of dust and con webs all over the room. Toilet was dirty too. “Streaks” in the bowl and. Dirty seat. The shampoo and conditioner was also used. Could clearly see they were partly empty. I have a few pictures of the room, but can’t post them.
- Julie (4/5): - The people who worked there were great and the pool was immaculate and really warm (the hot tub had half the jets out but the ones that worked worked well. The balcony and view were lovely. The location was convenient. The bathroom was clean. The fish tank gorgeous. But this is why I’m doing this review, as it was not safe for little kids ( I had a 20 month and 7 year old grandchildren). The door between the next room couldn’t be locked and my granddaughter kept going in there. They finally found the key to lock it but keeping her away in the meantime was tough). The bolt on the main door was not on well and we had to jam coolers and suitcases up against it so my granddaughter didn’t break it outright. It was pulling off. Half the breakfast stuff was not set up or working. The creamer for the coffee was spoiled and lumpy and had to be thrown out. The juice machines didn’t work. There was a questionable stain that looked biological on the room carpet. When we asked for help they helped where they could, but did not offer a room with a working bolt. And most concerning of all, when my daughter had to go back because she left something in the room, they just said take any key… they will work. I know mine stopped working and had to be replaced the next morning but she was pretty freaked out that it was that non secure that anyone could go in. So I promised her I would do a review in case anyone is traveling with small children, who need a heads up. Sorry.
- Cookyde (2/5): awful - We had a terrible experience here. The room was nothing like any of the pictures. 1. The room was not clean. 2. The soap in the bathroom was used. 3. The bed was blocking the view of the TV. 4. Half of the lights in the bathroom were burned out. 5. The bathroom electric circuit would not work. 6. There was food in one of the drawers. 7. Stains in the carpet. 8. Rips in the cushions. We planned to stay one week but were not comfortable. They offered other rooms but were marginally better. We had paid for most of the week. They would not give a refund. Lost a lot of money but it was too awful to stay there.

- suedegreen (2/5): Don’t Stay at AmeriVu in New Richmond - For starters the room key did not open the end door, after three tries the desk clerk discovered paper stuffed in the door lock and a dead battery, immediate unpleasant odor upon entry and plastic from an old appliance in the rather bent door opening. In the room the air was cold but standing next to a jet engine mimics the sound from the ac, questionable if the sheets were clean, no toilet paper, no coffee. Take a pass.
- Reilly (2/5): - If you love 3 inch long thick black pubic hair all over your bathroom floor you will love this place! Had our neighbors screaming and blasting music from 3am till 430am having to call the front desk twice and had to convince him that he needs to come and deal with it. Breakfast is a joke, weird stains all over the room, splatters on the ceiling and on the carpet, and the shower drain is so plugged you are standing in 8 inches of water by the time you are done showering if you are lucky and don’t run out of hot water.

Doors were dirty, water bottle and beer can on the floor. Left a day early couldn't stay there any longer. Health department should shut this place down. I'm contacting them tomorrow. Want a refund of one night

- Verified traveler (2/5): Gross - The room they put me in a room that appeared to be clean until you started paying attention. Crumbs on the bed, questionable spots on the walls, dirty ring the bathtub, blood on the bottom side of the toilet seat. My group and I found a new place to stay immediately and felt the need to shower of the AmeriVu as soon as we got to the new place. Even the front desk person at the new place felt pity on us for having stepped foot into this hotel. For the love of all things good and right, DO NOT stay here.

- tonydO9726CO (4/5): Gross smells - The staff were nice, but the room was pretty horrible. There was a very strong scent of cleaner, which seemed to be an attempt to cover up other smells. The shower was confusing to use and the pressure was way too high. The towels leave little bits of lint all over your skin which was horrible for trying to apply makeup after.

Plus the underneath of the beds no one has cleaned in ages very gross. I had a ant crawling on my leg under the covers the firat night. The Continental breakfast was formented orange juice, cold coffee and day old cupcakes. Wuth how much money we spent for just the hotel it self im not happy. The only nice part of this hotel is the swimming pool and hot tub.

- Wendy (4/5): Never again I’d like a refund - Waited at empty front desk about 5 min — bell on wall had flower / flag on it and it was not marked to ring for service. Entry doors were dirty, parking lot/landscaping — curb appeal was run-down, un-inviting. If the room was $60/ night I would not have been so concerned. There was no phone in the room to call the front desk. I could not access any channel on the TV (or ask for help from front desk) Tub was stained, plumbing fixtures discolored, dull—like very old or poorly maintained. Toiletry products were partially used. No liner for aluminum (?) ice bucket. Top of dresser was broken in several places (some stone? Or synthetic stone like marble) Bar for shower curtain and hanging clothes was PVC pipe with fittings to attach to wall. The bed appeared clean and adequate. I had working electrical outlets to charge my phone. Offered internet service but I chose not to use as the place felt “sketchy “ Breakfast bar — coffee and creamer. Juice machine marked out of flavor, no fruit or pastry, eggs, etc. two waffle irons that were cold — didn’t bother to check if there was batter available Pictures online were not representative of the current conditions. I’d like a full refund.

Breakfast was coffee or juice and waffles. Didn’t even have syrup for the waffles. The front desk person was nice, that truly was the only positive.

- Verified traveler (4/5): It wasn't what I expected. - Room was clean enough. I never did figure out how to get the TV to work. I was looking forward to using the whirlpool Saturday evening, but it and the pool were shut down at 8pm. Sign said it was open till 9. Went to have some cereal in the very limited breakfast and both containers of milk were expired. Not sure that I would stay here again.

It was late and i had 2 littles with me so said screw it and stayed there. They offered me cash for the difference but gave me less than half the difference back. The next morning kids want to go to the pool. There was full hard shell taco's in the bottom of the hot tub. Terrible experience, do not recommend.
- Rachael (2/5): 0/10 - Please do not stay here! I felt so unsafe by my self with my 3 young children. There were long term residents, some with pets. There were dirty dishes on the ground in front of some of the rooms labeled ‘private’. The pool area was extremely dated. There was hair in the shower of our room, the headboard was broken on one of the beds. The entire building had a very odd smell.. the latch on the door (extra lock) was removed. The pictures do not accurately portray the property at all. We left and went to a different hotel shortly after we checked in. The only positive experience I can share is the front desk staff (owner) was friendly.

However, I was disappointed that the hot tub wasn’t working as we came there after a freezing cold day of dirt bike riding and had looked forward to using it. - Nicole (2/5): - The staff was very friendly, he was a relative of the owner. The hotel is nothing like the pictures on Expedia. Unfortunately when we walked into our room we got blasted from extreme heat, felt like a sauna. The heat was set to 80 degrees. The room itself was decent for an older hotel. We went downstairs to have a look at the pool, it was dark as it was closed for the evening. It appeared to have lots of seating for the guests. The hot tub appeared to be broken there was lots of stuff floating in there. The pool appeared to be dirty as well. There was broken glass in the candy machine at the front desk. When we entered back into our room, we seen a few cockroaches crawling on the wall by the window. We managed to get one of them but that other one was on the loose. The continental breakfast was a joke. All there they had was two waffle irons and a machine for the batter, no plates or syrup. We grab a few coffees and two juices from the juice machine. The orange juice had a fruit fly floating in it:( We came back to the room and there were cockroaches in the washroom. We didn’t even have a sip of our coffee, packed up our things and headed out. There was no one at the front desk to talk to so we just left our room key. Expedia contacted the hotel and the nephew refunded 2 of our 3 nights. Thank you very much for that.

It looked like a building for homeless people from what some of the rooms looked like. No working spa at the site and the pool didn't look very clean. The building needs lots of updates and repairs.

This situation involved the staff walking in another guest’s room while they were there using the master key. The coffee/breakfast was disorganized and lacking cups and beverages. The room was okay except for the bathroom which had unpatched holes in the wall, cockroaches scuttling about and the floor next to the tub was in need of repair. I felt for the staff person who really was trying to take care of guests but seemed unaware of the systems with which to do so.

When they get the key out of the key return basket to take you to show you your room that right there is a good indication of just how bad the room is going to be because somebody else has left that room didn't like it either. Top it off with the room that you pay for is definitely not what you will get I upgraded to a deluxe room and they put me in a disgusting room that wasn't even what I paid for and had the nerve to tell me that they do have the rooms that I paid for upstairs but that they were reserved. Mind you I had made this reservation 2 months in advance and was standing there and they had the rooms available but we served for other guests and I am just never ever going to stay there again.

The carpet was so dirty and we looked under the beds to find cobwebs and dirt and other items. It must not have been cleaned for months. It was a patio room and the sliding door tracks were so dirty they didn't work well. The screen door was broken. There were blood stains on one pillow cover. The bathroom was clean but the door didn't fit well. The hot tub was empty and the pool looked iffy. The breakfast was acceptable. We almost left but stayed the night and left the next day and cut our two days to one.

He said a 24 hour notice was required. I told him this was a first. Even in LA they allow for a credit on early check out. I would drive to another city before staying there again.
- Melissa (6/5): - When we finished checking in we were told the hot tub was broken. We went to our room and the TV wouldnt turn on..The front desk clerk worked for 30 min. He was friendly and helpful. Then we were offered a different room... Which was okay. Morning came and I saw the most limited continental breakfast.... It was worth substantially less than we paid.

- Ryan (4/5): Sadly disappointing, reviews not accurate. - I stay at a hotel at least once a month. I always use Hotels.com and I always read the reviews. I know New Richmond is not a large town, but I felt good about the hotel because the reviews said good things. I knew it wouldn’t be “brand new”, but I expected better. Upon arrival, there was no one at the front desk. 4pm on a Friday, when the hotel was sold out. I called the number posted… and after a few minutes someone came out. He was very polite and nice, but it still took forever to check in. We were in a time crunch, as we had a ride coming between 5 and 515. We got into the room and tried to turn on the TV and it didn’t work. After spending 15 minutes trying to diagnose the issue, we ended up asking the front desk to fix it. The manager (?) came to our room (barefoot) and spent over 20 minutes trying to fix it, as I was trying to get ready. He said it would be fixed when we got back, I explained I didn’t want anyone in my room while we were gone. Finally, with 10 minutes to spare before we had to leave, he hooked a new DVD up and had it working. Other issues: the door between rooms did not lock. The toilet paper holder fell off the wall. The floors were dirty, like with actual dirt, the tub had dirt in it also. The outlet for the microwave did not work, so had to use the bathroom plug in. And the blow dryer did not work, so I had to find a house keeper in the morning to get a new one. The staff was very nice, but they need to clean up their act. Was not impressed,
- Ruthanne (4/5): - This place is falling apart at the seams. Needs some TLC. The gentleman at the desk told me 3 or 4 times “you are wrong” when I was trying to get in the internet instead of helping me. Then upstairs we were having trouble with the electronic key and asked for help. He grabbed it out of my husbands hand and said “you are wrong again”. When I told him he needed to learn how to talk to people he was shocked. I think he felt badly and had no idea how rude he was being. Still not pleasant.
- Carly (8/5): - Very friendly staff. Rooms are clean and bathroom was recently remodeled. It is an older building. The walls are paper thin and can hear others talk. We used white noise app to cancel out sound.
- 489sandrak (10/5): Comfy and relaxing. - This place is awesome! It is a bit dated but the room was comfortable and beautifully decorated. Had my very own outdoor space with bistro table and chairs overlooking a wooded area. Couldn't even tell I was on the main road through town. Very relaxing. 10/10 will stay there again when I go to that area in a couple months. :-)

- Chad (2/5): Poor conditions/ No lights - Not a good stay, on the first night of the stay our light switch in the bathroom failed. We couldn’t turn the lights on at all. Used phone for light. When we talked to the first attendant in the morning he didn’t seem to care or understand what I was telling him. He told me to come back later in the day. When so came back later the second attendant told me to wiggle switch and it will work. I told him we tried that. He then came up to our room and confirmed that the switch and light didn’t work. He said that he would fix it. He never came back to fix the light and we spent the rest of our stay with lights in bathroom. The bathroom door was also in disrepair and wouldn’t shut all the way. I would not recommend this hotel and will not be staying again. There were no apologies or offer for discount.

- Verified traveler (2/5): Horrible - The hotel stunk like mold very bad. I came home sick from it. We were on the 2nd floor and we noticed in the morning that there was no smoke alarm. It had been taken down. It was dirty.
- donaldtY4439KA (4/5): Bad choice of a place to stay - An old place that shows it wear & tear. Towels, washcloths and pillows had permanent stains on them. Not the cleanest by any means. Bad choice to stay here. The guy at the desk on overnight in the morning was outside spitting in our direction mumbling something in his language. Would not recommend staying here.
- Road599352 (10/5): Quaint and homie - This motel is actually quite cool. Every room has a different theme. Every kind of room you can imagine. Even one with a hot tub in it and king size bed that makes you feel like royalty. The staff and owners are very friendly amicable and full of cool stories. Neat experience
- Neil (4/5): Vacation 2024 - I had to pay another $22 at check in because my room wasnt ready. The jets in hot tub arent wirking and they werent working last year. I specifically ask about this before booking and was told it was working. So i was lied to and it cost more. Im not happy. Tgen the air-conditioning is making noise and kept me awake after being up for two days. Im tired and hungry. Ill see what breakfast brings!

The carpet had dust and dirt at the corners, dust and hair on nightstands, one of the towels in the bathroom had a paper tag still attached from the store and tower has never been washed, there was a cockroach right outside the patio door, flies all over the ceing, smell like the room has been smoked in for many years, a lot of broken glass around the trash area in the parking lot. And worst if all, the cleaner looked visibly high. We did not even bother with the breakfast and and the swimming pool, so sketchy. The worst hotel experience we've had in years.
- matthew (2/5): Wow what a dump! - I travel all the time for work all over the country. This place is truly a dump of a hotel. The room and all the bedding smelt horrible. Like an ash tray. Holes in the wall. Burns in the floor. Bugs in the room. And it was not a cheap hotel. One night on a Friday was 165$. This should be a 65$ hotel. I would never recommend to anyone.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Daughter visit - Upon entering the hotel the vestibule smelled musty! There was no one at the counter to check us in for several minutes! The room appeared clean. We could not use the shower because the water drained horribly slow! Employees were friendly though.

- Hannah (6/5): - Overall, not bad. The staff was friendly, our room was clean and tidy, and the pool was serviceable. Some minor issues were that the hot tub had a big brown stain near the stairs and the knob to activate the bubbles didn’t work.
- Melinda (6/5): - Staff new very little english, tv didn't work, bed was broke, no cups in room, no coffee pot, bathroom door didn't shut all the way closed, no breakfast, lake view room overlooks a beautiful swamp. It was hard to complain to management cause of language barrier. Good thing we only stayed one night.
