Guest Reviews
- Dayna (10/5): Amazing place, highly recommended - I love the architecture and design. The room very comfortable and everything very clean. I loved the rooftop with the a very clean small pool. The staff super polite, professional and very helpful. I absolutely love the free bikes too! Oh and the location is great!
- John (9/5): Perfect location, cool building. - Location, location, location. Cool old bank building. Get a ride in the old lift when you are there. Gorgeous and comfortable room. Pool is lush and cleaned daily. Didn’t go much on the breakfast, but that’s a personal thing. The hotel sales day passes which means you struggle to get in the pool at times. I appreciate they need to make money but reigning the number of passes in wouldn’t do any harm.
- Mauro (2/5): - The architecture of the building is amazing. The AC was not working. We had to leave the hotel room at 5 am because we were drenched in sweat and the fan they provided was super noisy so we couldn’t get back to sleep. The pool area was full of day pass buyers and there were no tables available for the actual hotel guests.

- xochitl (10/5): I have stayed at this lovely hotel a million times and it never disappoints. Exceptional service ♥️ - I love the property because it’s very unique, beautiful and safe & conveniently located… I love everything about the property !!!
- Ben (9/5): Bueno - Beautiful property in an old bank. Lovely old lift and staircase. Very big rooms. Easy location close to all the historic attractions Very minor thing I didn’t like was that the door locks were difficult to operate
- Agnieszka (10/5): -
- Mark (10/5): -
- Joseph (8/5): Very happy with stay. - Staff was great. Good location. Coffee make did not work.
- Leslie (9/5): Peaceful stay at elegant historic hotel - This is a beautiful, historic hotel that is peaceful and quite. I loved the terrace on the roof - what a perfect place for breakfast or drinks. It's well located and the staff were very kind. The only thing I didn't like was that the rooms have no windows.

Piscine minuscule
- Orlagh (7/5): Comfortable stay - Clean room, central location, pleasant staff
- lindseyw300 (8/5): Great location, room with a few quirks - Overall, we enjoyed our stay in this unique hotel that used to be a bank. A few things to note:
1. Many rooms do not have a window - this I actually liked as it was nice and dark, making it easy to sleep
2. The beds are VERY firm - not sure if this is just this hotel or if this is standard for Mexico
3. The bathrooms do not have walls that reach entirely to the ceiling. So, you are basically completing all of your business (showering, using the toilet) in the same room with everyone else. They can hear and smell everything. Also, the bathroom light will light up the entire room and potentially wake everyone up during the night.
4. Overall, the hotel is very quiet considering it is located in a busy area of town. We were however awoken very early 3 separate days by someone who was I think cleaning and dragging furniture around in the pool area above our room. Additionally, one of the nights there was a party around the pool area that lasted very late. If either of these may bother you, I'd recommend trying to get a hotel room not on the second floor.
5. Overall our room was very clean and the maids kept it quite tidy throughout our 1.5 week stay.
Although I didn't care for the bathroom situation, it would not be enough to sway me from staying here again as the staff, location, and cleanliness make up for it.

- framcisco javier (10/5): Muy bonito hotel - Excelente ubicación Todo estuvo muy bién
- Gillian (10/5): - Great location, peaceful and lovely rooms. Rooftop pool and bar good for relaxing
- Jessica (6/5): -
- Francisca (9/5): -
- Sam (6/5): - Locatie en netheid Personeel geeft heel weinig info. Bedden zijn niet 4 sterren waardig.
- Manreet (10/5): -
- Vanessa (10/5): -
- Orlagh (8/5): A comfortable place in an excellent location - Clean, well decorated, helpful staff It was quite expensive but it’s high season, no natural light in room
- TXFlyer (6/5): Disappointed, would not stay here again - We stayed here for 2 nights during a quick trip to Mexico City. The hotel is very dark inside. Our room had no windows, except for 2 panels that opened from the entry door. Rooms are very small with no place to put suitcases. It had the feeling of a dorm room. The rooftop area is nice and the staff are very kind.
- sala348 (10/5): Great service and location! - This post is to recognize the truly exceptional service provided by Santiago, the Bellman. He consistently goes above and beyond in every interaction — always courteous, respectful, and incredibly helpful. In addition to his regular duties, Santiago often assists with Spanish-to-English interpretations, which has been invaluable to many guests, including myself.
I’m not sure if language assistance is officially part of his role, but he has clearly become the go-to person for so many needs around the hotel. His dedication, professionalism, and willingness to help with even non-hotel-related matters speak volumes about his character and commitment.
The hotel itself is a beautiful property with so much history, but it’s the staff — and especially Santiago — who truly make the experience stand out. I sincerely hope management and the corporate office take the time to recognize what an asset he is to the team.

- Claudia (10/5): Great location in downtown Mexico City - This is a very nice hotel in a beautiful and charming building. Excellent location in downtown Mexico City.
- Leslie (9/5): - The hotel was in a great location. Very close to the Central City area. Everything in the hotel was very modern. Rooftop was nice. Food at the restaurant was OK.
- Mandy (10/5): - The hotel was in a beautifully kept condition, the staff were incredibly friendly and courteous with showing us to our room. They explained our benefits we’d earned with booking this specific hotel and were helpful offering their services 24/7 with whatever needs we had.
- Alicia (10/5): - NA
- Yves (6/5): -
- Elspeth (6/5): - The location was good if you wanted to be in the historical centre. The staff were fairly charmless. The location isn't actually great.
- David (9/5): Excellent location for the historic centre - The historic building, interesting interior architecture, the roof terrace and of course the location. The room seemed a bit small, the shower design leads to lots of water escaping onto the floor and the air conditioning never turned on so it was too warm in the room.
- Claudia (9/5): Plunge after marathon: priceless - Alberca y Vista post maraton:)
- ISAAC ISRAEL (10/5): -
- Elodie Martine (7/5): - - Emplacement
- maria lourdes (9/5): Buena ubicacion, recomendable - La decoracion, del lugar, la terraza/cafeteria, ubicacion centrica Todo estuvo bien
- GLADIS (9/5): - What we loved about this hotels is that the rooms are very clean, beds are extremely comfortable good pillows, the rooms are dark and can sleep in the next morning, customers service is a 10 +. Close to some good tacos and to the main church. The AC didn’t work that well but we went there in August so we didn’t need it to be stronger but if you go in hot months this would probably be a problem. Bathroom wall doesn’t go all the way up for us it wasn’t a problem as we went with my husband and two children.
- KUNIHIKO (8/5): -
- Suzette (10/5): - Great!
- Garcia (7/5): I wouldn’t go back to that place - Too dark and stuffy. Couldn’t breath It needs air and light
- Garcia (7/5): Did not enjoy it. Wouldn’t stay there again - Very dark, no windows anywhere, it need it to be aired The darkness
- robertsZ945FB (10/5): An intriguing place to stay. Very enjoyable - The hotel has interesting architecture in a great location. The receptionists were extremely pleasant and helpful. The rooms are actually good in that there is no noise and light coming in once the door is closed so perfect for a nights sleep in the middle of a very busy city. Nice high ceilings.
The only aspect that was tricky was the curious door lock but one works it out eventually.
- Monica (4/5): - Upon check in at night, it was completely dark due to their eco-friendliness. It was kinda creepy. The door locks on the room are ridiculous to open and close; They’re not simple. The small closet in the room was ridiculous. The bathroom walls did not go all the way up to the ceiling, no privacy. The lighting in the room was not that great. My friend and I got food poisoning from the restaurant. I would not stay here again.
- Sonia (8/5): - I liked that the room had AC.
- Blanca (8/5): - The staff is nice
- Darren (2/5): - If you’re interested in a dark atmosphere, tiny rooms with no ventilation or windows, while open to hearing all of the bathroom habits of your partner (weird open bathrooms), not to mention numb and unresponsive service… this is the place for you. Young woman refused to even listen to our concerns. Poor quality hotel with the customer service to match. Shouldn’t be in the service industry. MUCH better hotels in the area, WHICH we’ll fortunately be headed to tomorrow. Normally don’t write negative reviews; not my style… but this place earned it!
- Christopher (9/5): Superb - Location, staff super friendly and helpful. Not much privacy in the room, if your partner needs to use the toilet.
- Lelia (8/5): Very good -
- Jean-pierre (8/5): Very good -
- Arturo (10/5): - The staff are very helpful.
- Salvador (8/5): - You can walk to el zocalo or el palacio de bellas artes
- Niraj (8/5): - Supportive staff at the reception.
- Devika (10/5): - Good location for us, the room was spacious (2 queen), staff were great. Very smooth stay!
- Kelsey (10/5): Exceptional - The customer service team was very helpful and welcoming! We had a great stay.
- Lisa (8/5): - The staff was excellent and helpful. The room was very nice, I had a king. They first put me in to a queen room but it was very small and had no window so it felt like a closet. The staff very graciously moved me to a roomier accommodation.
It is a very easy walk to many sights such as the art museum and Juarez sreet.
- Melanie (6/5): - Unique property with a great rooftop area with pool and bar. It was very dark with little lighting at night. The door locks were difficult. One reason I booked here was that they listed that the rooms were soundproofed. They are not. I could hear sounds from the lobby, roof top and street. It's a great location though, walking distance from so many sights.
- Paul (2/5): - Just terrible
- Jean-Marc (10/5): - The room is quite large and the staff was very helpful. I like the decor.
The only negatives were that the hallways are dark at night and the toilet seat was cheap plastic and not the proper size.
- rodgar26 (10/5): Great place!!! - Great location, great Pool bar (Marcos went above and beyond to make our stay amazing. ) I recommend this place if you want to visit Centro historico and walk to all of them. I will come back and enjoy the culture and food of city again, thanks Marriott
- Liset (10/5): - Great stay 🙂! Wonderful staff!
- Tom (10/5): Exceptional - Great location, friendly staff, clean and modern facilities and room.
- Vanessa (10/5): I would definitely stay here again, but hopefully they will fix their WiFi - The staff was super nice, everything was clean, the products in the bathroom were great.
The WiFi was pretty poor throughout the hotel. Including on the terraza and in the room. Not ideal if working. The pool is pretty nice and only a few lounge chairs.
- 302xochitla (10/5): The BEST SAFE Hotel in the Centro Histórico ♥️ - I absolutely love this hotel. I have stayed here time and time again and it never disappoints. The roof top is soo beautiful. Marco brought me room service. He was extremely pleasant professional and my order arrived super fast. He greeted me with such a genuine smile 😃 which is why I keep coming back to this hotel the whole staff makes me you feel WELCOME 🤗 ♥️🙏Angelica as well is the most professional and welcoming beautiful person.
- Joe (8/5): - Very helpful staff. Walkable area
- Shailesh (10/5): Exceptional -
- Ruth (8/5): Very good -
- Rose (6/5): Pleasant -
- Bryan (9/5): Superb -
- emmarY5614TV (10/5): Memorable, exciting and engaging! - Beautiful hotel and facilities, Marco at the restaurant provides excellent and friendly service, and the food is delicious! Would definitely stay again. Great location, comfortable and very spacious rooms! Especially love the fact it is pet friendly, which can be difficult to find sometimes
- Eduardo (8/5): - Close to many great attractions and definitely great hospitality
- eduardohW5005BS (6/5): Great place to stay, but go elsewhere for drinks - The hotel was amazing and had security 24/7 which made us feel safe. House keeping was on point and ensured your room was spotless and things never went missing. Staff was always at your service and ready to assist in any way. Beautiful view of the city and an amazing experience on the original elevator that onces used to be used for the bank. If you decide to use the pool make sure to call ahead and make sure they heat it up on those chilly days otherwise they won’t bother. Alcoholic drinks aren’t strong. I personally feel like my drinks were watered down. I had 6 tequila shots and a triple shot Jack Daniel's with Pepsi to see if they were and sad to say… I didn’t feel a thing. My girlfriend and I waited to see it would affect me at all and nothing. We ended up buying a wine bottle that hadn’t been opened yet and that did the job. Moral of the story go elsewhere for drinks. Go to Taqueria Tlaquepaque for drinks and food around the corner. Best place for your money
- steffany (8/5): - Good budget friendly place. WiFi isn’t good.
- Sarah (8/5): A nice place to stay for a few nights - Nice rooftop bar area. Clean rooms. Amazing reception - hotel is in a converted bank! A little noisy at times and a walk or taxi to some sites but that is probably the case for everywhere in Mexico City.
- Pannu (9/5): Lovely stay - great service (Oscar and Rebeca were extremely helpful with providing food suggestions and catering to any - The cleanliness and friendly staff The location - central to the city but didn’t feel as safe as other neighborhoods of the city
- Katherine (9/5): Really nice hotel with an excellent location in Centro Historico - Loved the location and cleanliness of the property. The rooftop restaurant was great for breakfast, especially for the warmth of the head waiter, Eduardo. I know it's a trend in hotels now, and given the high ceiling of the room I understand, but the lack of ceiling for the bathroom does not provide a lot of privacy, noise-wise.
- celeramrz (2/5): Badd room air circulation and AC does not work - ROOM IS HOT! While this hotel has a trendy aesthetic the "superior" room we paid extra for has no windows and is extremely hot as the air circulation is lacking. The AC is not functioning properly and the only way to bare staying in the room is opening the hallway door. I feel sick from heat exhaustion and do not find leaving my room door open to be a safe experiencie.
I have asked the front desk three times today for them to address the issue or transfer me to a different room and they've made excuses and finally sent up a stand alone fan.
I'll update this review if they do anything to resolve the issue but so far they have not been helpful.
- Anirban (4/5): - Since we booked through Expedia, we did NOT get a decent room. Most importantly we are Gold members of Marriott.. and were not given any privilege for that.
The room had coffee machine, but no coffee pods!!!
- Nita (4/5): Good location and facilities but overall experience was poor. - Clean facilities, big rooms WiFi did not work frequently. aC would go off intermittently.. Staff mgmt was not very helpful. The WiFi was not working when I left and they said they would email me my checkout bill but I didn’t receive it.
- velob2025 (8/5): A hidden gem in the middle of the city center of Mexico City - Staff were pleasant. I do not speak Spanish well and the accommodated me well. Room was clean. The rooms were originally bank vaults so you will understand when you get into your room. The rooms were clean. Everything worked well. The rooftop restaurant was pleasant and the food very good.
- Taylor (4/5): - Pretty hotel. Our room did not have windows AT ALL. Door was overly complicated to open and lock which made us always think there’s a chance it could be unlocked while we were out. No ceiling on bathroom so everyone in the room could hear/smell…
- Carmen (10/5): - Mariana was wonderful!
- Jose (9/5): Superb -
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very nice hotel and the staff were amazingly friendly and accommodating. Rooftop patio has a great view and pool, and the location is prime! Not a big fan of the Queen room for a couple as the wall that separates the bathroom from the bedroom doesnt go all the way, so if you get up to visit the bathroom at night the light and sound will wake your partner up
- Jose (10/5): - Was very comfortable the staff very friendly and clean
- Emma (7/5): Good -
- Mercedes (9/5): Unique boutique experience in the heart of the city - Impressive and very unique design, comfortable and super clean boutique rooms, kind staff - an overall special and comfortable experience if you’re looking for something with a touch of artistic charm. Very cute rooftop pool! I was a little lost in the darkness trying to find my room at night - it’s quite dark on the corridors, but then I realized the room numbers are projected to the floor with light - cool :)
- Glennso (9/5): Superb - Great location. Very nice hotel. Only drawback is most rooms, including ours, have small windows without a view. But we were never there during the day, so no problem for us.
- Kala (8/5): - Great location, staff was very friendly. The room was noisy, air conditioner from inside and lobby noises from outside.
- Pedro (8/5): - convinios need a new mattress
- shawn1765 (2/5): Not What We Expected - We arrived at the hotel at sunset, and the entrance was noticeably dimmer than the outside, creating an odd first impression. The reception area isn’t visible from the entrance, so the experience begins with a bit of confusion—“Where’s the front desk?”
Check-in took longer than expected, and we were required to let a bellboy take our carry-on luggage to the room, which felt unnecessary. The old elevator, while charming, was the highlight of this part of the stay.
After exiting the elevator, we found ourselves in pitch-black hallways. At the door, we were given a lesson on how to operate the lock—something we’ve rarely needed at other hotels.
Once inside the room, we were immediately taken aback. There were no windows, and the bathroom wall didn’t extend to the ceiling, which felt odd and lacked privacy. The overall atmosphere was bunker-like. Concerned, I asked the bellboy, “If there’s a fire outside this door, how does anyone get out?” He didn’t have an answer. I also mentioned the strong smell of cleaning chemicals, which was overwhelming, but received only a blank stare in response.
It was clear we couldn’t stay here for the duration of our trip. I informed the staff that we would stay one night but not for the full week as planned, despite already having paid for two days. At the reception desk, I requested a refund for the second night. The staff member had to call a manager, who was very kind and soft-spoken. She tried to convince us to stay but ultimately authorized the refund, which we greatly appreciated.
I strongly recommend the hotel disclose that most of the rooms lack windows to set proper expectations. While the staff was accommodating and polite, the overall experience left much to be desired.
