- Sharon (7/5): Perfect location for us but not as happy as with a previous stay. - The shower is fabulous and the size of the one bedroom apartment great. The light switch for the bathroom is on the bedroom side so if used at night disturbs a sleeping partner. The previous time we stayed, carparking was included, however this time it was $20 per night. I was told by the receptionist that if we booked directly through them, it would have been complimentary. There was only one roll of toilet paper so we purchased our own. After 3 nights, we wanted our room serviced. It was not done, so I called reception and I was told they would get the cleaner onto it. A cleaner brought us towels but said they had been told not to service as it was a Sunday. There was nothing in any information provided to us that stated this. Arriving back on our final night at 8:00pm, our access cards would not unlock the gate - numerous attempts made with both cards. Luckily one worked with the ca entrance.

On our second visit, the apartment we were given was not as good, it was smaller and the sofa chairs were really warn out too. We paid a similar price and did not realise we were getting a lower quality apartment.
- Melodie (2/5): 2/5 and only because of location - Close to a tram stop. Central location. The bread left for us was incredibly mouldy. Having to get keys from a second location was not ideal. Being told last minute that parking was not free as advertised (the reason for picking the hotel) was a kick in the teeth. The apartment was too small to for luggage for two and still be able to manoeuvre around. There was no bin or bag available in the kitchenette. When we arrived someone was scaling the fence which gave us an idea of security and location and made us worry for our safety/ the safety of our things.

The room was very clean and comfortable with everything we needed. The bathroom was stylish, the bed was exceptionally comfortable and the area was quiet at night. A lovely touch was a continental breakfast which was very much appreciated. Had to go to another property to check in first, which wasn’t too much of a problem for us as we had time but would be for people travelling in a taxi. Also had a very strong smell of cleaning products when we walked in.

Stayed for 3 nights and the place was cleaned for us daily. The check in is a 5 minute drive/ 20 minute walk away but all the staff are lovely and it wasn’t too much of an inconvenience.

- Mikenzee (4/5): - The checkin took way too long, I’m not sure what the receptionist was doing but I had to wait almost 20 mins. There was only one person in front of me and it took 10 mins just to do them and then another 10 mins to get myself checked in. The room was also not ready on time which is understandable if they were under staffed at the time, however, they didnt provide information on when I could check in, instead I had to ask and they said ‘maybe an hour’. A call never came to let me know the room was ready, very poor communication that stuffed us around a lot. Not to mention there was mouldy bread in the fridge which was suppose to be fresh toast for us to use in the morning. Very disappointed for the amount of money I paid. I would like some if not all my money back.

Such a strong smell in the lounge area that all windows needed to stay open for our entire stay. The carpets were wet through the entire apartment like they had been steam cleaned minutes before our arrival. Left us wondering what the last person to use the room did in there.

- Mitchell (9/5): Great location. Comfortable and quiet. - I loved the room; it was quiet, comfortable, and private. There was a great selection of beverages and even some complimentary toast with lots of different jams, peanut butter, etc. It was convenient and easy for breakfast. The location is also excellent. I had to pick up the keys at another property, but that was a minor detail.

Being on the road frontage it would have been nice to be informed about the trams running right outside. Having booked a 2 bedroom apartment for 4 adults it would have been good to have had enough crockery for all. There were 2 glasses, 3 cereal bowls and 1 teaspoon. There was comfortable seating for 3 people in the lounge. The rooms were so dark it made it very difficult to see, particularly in the bedrooms.

- Eleanor (6/5): Nice hotel with potential, some downfalls representing a company not putting much effort into something that could be a - The location of this hotel was great for us, the size of the apartment is also great and we grabbed it at a great price. Staff are great, very professional and helpful (if you can get on to them). When it was raining a damp smell was lingering for 2 days around the kitchen which was really unpleasant. Their concierge was hard to get a hold of. The showers need an update - they look old and a bit grimey The bed was uncomfortable, I felt like I could feel the springs. I have stayed here a few times with free parking, it was a great defining feature of this hotel. Unfortunately, they’ve now snuck in parking for $20 a day which is an absolute rip off. It’s written in fine print right at the bottom of your booking, so naturally, I didn’t see that and nothing was communicated in confirming my booking or any post booked communications from the hotel that I have to “reserve” a park. This became an unfortunate surprise at check in but thankfully the staff member was kind enough to include the parking. This should just be included with the room! I wouldn’t stay here again.

Extra charges made after we had booked - $100 extra for parking. We were told it cost us extra because we used booking.com, and if we had booked direct they wouldn’t have charged us. They then almost doubled the bond that we had to pay on arrival ($500 collected rather than $300 advised prior to arrival). Unit was noisy due to being at the front near the tram line. Cutlery and crockery was missing. Unit was very dark. Room wasn’t serviced until 4:30PM, by which time we were getting ready for dinner, so couldn’t be done. The hotel sent us an email after the stay to ask how it was, and I told them about all of the above. I didn’t get a response - they obviously weren’t interested, which kind of sums up this apartment hotel. There are better options nearby.

- Teagan (5/5): Good location - Was a convenient location for the purpose of our trip The bathroom was extremely small for two people and alittle outdated. We also had to travel to another location for keys after travelling for so long
- Sandi (1/5): Extremely disappointing - Nothing, as we were not able to stay at the property. On entering our room, it smelt very strongly of dead fish/prawns. We contacted the main reception which is at another property to complain and to see about getting another room. The staff member said he didn't have any other rooms available and didn't offer any other help. We had to pay for parking on arrival and a $300 bond at another property location on top of our accommodation cost which had been paid weeks in advance and to date has not been refunded. We also had to find other accommodation at short notice which ended up being very expensive. I have sent two emails to the management in regards to a refund which have not been responded to. The room was very small but we would have stayed if not for the pungent smell which made me sick in the stomach the minute we walked in. Definitely don't stay in this place as the staff and management don't care about guest comfort.

- David (8/5): Comfy and spacious, good price for this part of Melbourne - Nice large self-contained apartment with fully equipped kitchen, separate bathroom, bedroom and living space. Parking space available behind secure fence & gate. Nice and quiet in the apartment - any external noise during the night didn't penetrate into the apartment. Picking up the room key/card from reception on Berkely Street is always an extra hassle - it would be so much easier if a lock box or other form of self check-in was available at the Park Street property. There are no EV chargers in the area, so I trickle charge my car overnight from an external power point at the property. This works well but an EV charger would be even better.
