• Victoria (10/5): A unique type of stay for those who want to touch some Japanese history and beautiful culture. - Absolutely unique experience of Japanese culture. We stayed in a beautiful house where the walls witnessed the history. We slept on futon beds to wake up in the morning for seeing magnificent mount Fuji from our windows. We drank the water coming from the mount. We explored the surroundings with short walks from the house taking us to some amazing places from where we could admire the mighty Fuji, the lakes, the beautiful town Kawaguchiko. We enjoyed every moment of our stay.

• Bethania (9/5): Cálido hospedaje tradicional ☺️ - Fue muy lindo ser recibidas en Wafu al llegar al hermoso Fuji Kawaguchiko. Solo nos quedamos una noche y todo estuvo muy bien, la señora que nos recibió fue muy amable, desde la habitación se veía el monte Fuji. El hostel tiene un espacio compartido muy bonito y tradicional, donde te podes probar yukata y escribir en kanji. Las instalaciones funcionales y cálidas. La ubicación está muy buena, cerca de la estación. Algo a destacar, dejamos nuestro equipaje hasta más tarde que el horario de check out, y como nos olvidamos de avisar, dejamos una carta, la señora nos respondió con una carta muy adorable y unos caramelos de despedida. Recomendamos!

• Jemma (8/5): - The guesthouse is set up really well, with washing/dryer, kitchen, shared toilets and showers, as well as lovely loving space and 'experience' room where you can try oragami and calligraphy. The owner/staff member was so lovely and welcoming. Its also a fun experience to try Japanese style rooms for the first time. Location is great, amazing view and close to the lake for exploring (we hired bikes easily and spent the day cycling) Its an old guesthouse so you hear everything - the floors are creaky, the walls are thin etc. Our neighbours didn't really understand that - hairdryer at midnight?!? (Maybe move the hairdryer downstairs so away from guest rooms?) So its not a place for a lie in, but since most are hoping for a clear sunrise for Fuji, I would still recommend and just hope other guests are more courteous

• Maite (10/5): Great hotel. Totally recommend it - Perfect stay for few days while exploring kawaguchiko. 5’ away from the station. Another 5’ walk to the lake. Clean and beautiful hotel. The fact that hotel staff would come into our room to clean while we were having breakfast. I dont mind having them cleaning but may be with a permission from us would be nicer. They could let you know at the beginning that someone will come into the room to clean it up so we would be prepared and not get back to the room and find someone there who does not speak English.

• Janina (10/5): Totale Empfehlung - Wir hatten einen wirklich tollen Aufenthalt in dem guesthouse. Es war wirklich schön in einem solchen Haus schlafen zu können. Die Schlafmatte ist natürlich härter als in einem regulären Bett aber es war total okay. Es war super sauber und es gab sogar ein kleines kostenloses Frühstück.

• Ian (9/5): Nice traditional accommodation in great location - Perfect location close to the train/bus station. Clean, quiet and has a fully equipped shared kitchen. Coffee station & basic breakfast (bead,jam,butter) to start in the morning. What we enjoyed the most was the room where you can do origami & calligraphy. Totally normal for a ryokan style accommodation but shared areas are a bit cold and futons are a little hard.

• Diana Carla (10/5): I would 100% recommend Wafu Guesthouse!!! - I love how cozy it is and the room gives you a Japanese feel with how the interiors are designed. I also love that they have complimentary coffee abd tea. The staff was amazing!!! Very friendly and approachable. Also, it was raining during my last day, but luckily, the guesthouse had free calligraphy, origami and kimono-fitting. I wasn't bored at all and got to try something new. Maybe the shower wall had black marking but that was super minimal. Also, one of the showers took a bit of time to adjust to hot water. But again, super minimal.

• Lisa Maria (10/5): Incroyable séjour ! Je recommande à 200% - Malheureusement je n’y suis restée qu’une nuit mais j’aurai souhaité y rester plus longtemps ! Une très belle maison, de belles chambres japonaises avec tatamis et futons, des espaces communs charmants, une zone fumeur sur le balcon, une grande cuisine, mais surtout une DOUCHE JAPONAISE 😍 en tant que fan d’animés j’étais absolument ravie d’en essayer une ! Les douches normales sont également à disposition! Le personnel est très gentil, la dame qui m’a accueille ma tour bien expliqué dans les moindres détails afin que je soit à l’aise et m’a donné quelques conseils pour mon séjour (elles ont toutes les bonnes adresses dont un voyageur à besoin !) Et puis la pièce d’expérience … une agréable surprise ! Je ne m’y attendais pas du tout et j’ai passé une bonne soirée à essayer d’écrire ahahah Merci beaucoup pour ce séjour, je reviendrai avec grand plaisir ! Rien ! J’ai tout adoré

You have a general shared area where you can eat and meet other people and also try japanese calligraphy or origami There‘s also a kitchen you can use which is amazing, as well as the included breakfast and tea/coffee My room had an amazing view of mt fuji and was very cosy with heaters and a futon bed. the house itself is an old japanese house which is amazing to be in and be at peace with oneself If you‘re ever planing to stay at least one night in kawaguchiko consider this the perfect place to be! To the staff: Thank you so much for the lovely stay! I couldn‘t imagine a better stay in the whole town I loved everything!!!

• Vivian (7/5): Japanese guesthouse with shared facilities - I had a private room in Japanese style tatami with a futon. Facilities were clean and it felt like staying in a traditional Japanese home. Futon was hard and a little uncomfortable. Sound travels easily if someone is walking to the toilet.
