Hutlösa priser på dryck i lobbyn och ingen annan mat att erbjuda än den flådiga franska restaurangen med vita linnedukar. Trevlig onsen. Ligger bra vid busshållplatsen men i övrigt något ödsligt. Promenadavstånd till en del restauranger:)

• GattFloridia (8/5): Disappointed 😞 - Very disappointed . Good location for the Venetian Glass Museum and the Hakone Trails. Staff indifferent. None of the reception staff could speak English or made any effort to help with a minor issue we had. The ac in the room was antiquated and super noisy at night. Water in the shower takes 15 minutes to drain, so you are standing continuously in dirty water, and you need to wait 20 mins before next can then wash. They come across as being super environmentally friendly and ask you to accept a complimentary beverage in exchange for the room being cleaned. Yet they make it impossible to have that beveragewith thee timings andsmalll print. All the little things could be overlooked if staff were pleasant, but they were the total opposite of what you are used to with Japanese hospitality.

• Camper01238295640 (8/5): Spa like atmosphere - Spa-like atmosphere! Very quiet and secluded area. After a 3.5-hour hike at a nearby Mount Kintoki Loop, we were looking forward to enjoy the outdoor onsen at this hotel. Not crowded so it’s like having your own private onsen. The room is very comfortable and clean. One downsize.. no expresso machine in the room. So kind of hard to start the morning with instant coffee.

Choice in breakfast is limited. Like you have to order corn flex with milk , which is payable. Repeat fruit juice, is payable too. It exudes elegance and comfort, making for a memorable stay with excellent service and thoughtful accommodations. 🛏️ Rooms The rooms are large and pleasant, providing ample space to relax. Though somewhat dated, they remain comfortable and well-maintained, with a charming decor. ♨️ Onsen Experience The onsen was a highlight of my stay, offering indoor, jacuzzi, and outdoor options. The amenities, including hair supplies and makeup for women, were the best I've seen. A lot of care went into making this a luxurious and relaxing space. 🌳 Outdoor Facilities The hotel’s yard is well-maintained and pleasant, even at night. The serene atmosphere is enhanced by the landscaping, though I wished the walking path was larger. Despite this, it’s a lovely place to stroll. 👩‍💼 Staff and Service The staff were incredibly helpful. Although their English was not the best, they made a sincere effort to assist with any needs. Their dedication to excellent service was greatly appreciated. 🍽️ Dining The food was a highlight. Despite many dietary restrictions, the hotel staff worked diligently to accommodate us. They created a special dinner menu and a suitable breakfast. Their efforts made our dining experience enjoyable. 👍 Conclusion Overall, my stay was incredibly nice. The elegant comfort, exceptional service, and thoughtful amenities make it a standout choice. I highly recommend staying here.
• Alan (10/5): Lovely hotel, great location - Very nice hotel with a fantastic onsen. Great location for exploring the area. Plenty of restaurants although we only ate in one. The Azure Moon, Indian restaurant, it was very good. There’s a supermarket and two 7-11’s and a Family Mart close by as well. The Hakone Glass museum is only a few minutes walk from the Hotel and is definitely worth a visit. The buildings and grounds are worth visiting even if you don’t want see the glass exhibits.
• masayo (8/5): - 1泊の滞在でした。 お掃除も行き届き清潔でした。 スタッフさんの対応も良くお料理も大変美味しくいただきました。 夕食時間が遅かったので最後のコーヒーはやめておこうかと思ったのですがカフインレスコーヒーを用意していただき大変有り難かったです。 一つ難点は部屋付きの冷蔵庫ではなく保冷庫ということで、部屋で飲み物をキンキンに冷やす事ができなかったことでしょうか... 色々なホテルに泊まっていて、冷蔵庫は当たり前の感覚だったので意外でした。 フロントに電話をしたらホテルの冷蔵庫で飲み物を保管してくれるという事で預かってもらいました。 ただ、暑い時期は部屋の冷蔵庫は必須だと思いました。

• a-chan2000 (8/5): 静かな高原ホテルでゆっくりできました - During holiday, I stayed one night at the long-established Highland Hotel in Hakone. The relatively reasonable price was the deciding factor, as accommodation prices in the surrounding area were rising due to the weak yen and inbound tourism. From the tourist-filled Hakone Yumoto bus terminal, take a 15-minute bus heading for Sengokuhara and get off at the bus stop named after the hotel, where you can see a low-rise, white, Western-style hotel. When you enter the lobby, you will see a lush green lawn spreading out before you, and in the distance you can see Owakudani, with several streaks of white smoke rising up the reddish-brown mountainside, giving you a sense of the vastness of the property. The room was a Western-style room. The room overlooked the spacious lawn and the view was great. The bath was clean and modern, with separate washing areas for each person, a jacuzzi, an indoor bath, and an open-air bath. The water was gentle and slightly cloudy. We had a Western-style course meal in the restaurant, and although I was a bit worried about the manners of my 7-year-old child, we were able to dine in a kid-friendly atmosphere without having to worry too much. The food was Japanese-style French, made with local fish, vegetables and ingredients, and was quite tasty. For breakfast, you can choose between Western and Japanese food. I had the Western option, but the fresh salad and bread were also delicious. Perhaps because there are only a few rooms overall, the restaurant and baths didn't feel crowded or overwhelming, so this hotel is recommended for people who want to spend some relaxing time. ゴールデンウィークは箱根、仙石原の老舗、ハイランドホテルに一泊した。円安、インバウンドの影響か周辺の宿泊費が高騰する中、比較的良心的なお値段が決め手となった。 観光客でごったがえす箱根湯本のバスターミナルから仙石原方面のバスにのり15分、ホテルの名を冠したバス停で降りると低層の白い洋風のホテルが見える。ロビーに入ると目の前は青々とした芝生が広がっており、奥の赤茶けた山肌に白煙がいく筋か登る大涌谷が見え、敷地の広さが感じられる。 部屋はベットがある洋室。部屋からも広々とした芝生が望め、景観はよい。 お風呂は清潔感あふれるモダンな作りで、1人づつ仕切られた洗い場と、ジャグジー、内湯と露天風呂。温質は優しく、若干白く濁っている。 食事はレストランでいただく洋風コース料理で、連れてる7歳の子供のマナーにハラハラしてたけど、そんなに気を使うことなく、優しい雰囲気のなか食べる事ができた。料理は地元の魚や野菜、食材を意識した日本風フレンチ、まずまず美味しい。朝ごはんは洋食と和食から選べ、洋食を頂いたが新鮮なサラダと、パンも美味しかった。 全体的に客室数が少ないからか、レスランもお風呂も混んで大変、というイメージがなく、ゆっくりした時間を過ごしたい人におすすめのホテルでした。
• ERIC (10/5): - We stayed here with our rental car to explore and see Fuji. We could walk to a lot of cool restaurants. Drinks in the hotel bar were nice with the view of the hotel grounds and mountains.

• Tttttttttttrrrr (8/5): Beautiful setting - This is a very interesting place to visit. The atmosphere is more 1970s I think. The rooms have real old-fashioned keys. But the setting is beautiful. They are beautiful gardens to walk-through. And the hot baths are wonderful. We had a group dinner, which was pre-selected, which was good with very good service in the restaurant.
• 940claret (4/5): Meh. Expensive and lackluster. Book elsewhere - Use caution booking this hotel! Double check your number of guests and understand breakfast is NOT good and NOT optional. Also, no tattoos allowed in the onsen. We had reserved two rooms for a total of $450–but somehow when we arrived my Agoda booking only showed three guests instead of five. They demanded and additional $300 for the two unreported guests (because per their explanation in Japan they charge per person not per room). If my elderly parents hadn’t been so tired I would have left. At $225 per room/night price the hotel is tired and underwhelming but for $375 per room/night it’s a joke. The pros: it’s quiet, serene even, and the grounds are lovely. The rooms are fine, the beds are fine. The cons: value not there. Few amenities if you have tattoos and cannot use the onsen. It’s situated along a busy road and not a nice walk. The buses in the area are expensive. The Japanese breakfast was meh and the western was worse than a tv dinner. *we were there during cherry blossom season and spring break. No one had told us to make dinner reservations in advance and the town was literally sold out. After walking to over ten restaurants we gave up and ended up eating 7-eleven. The whole thing was expensive and lackluster.
• Manian (6/5): - I stayed in a room at the first floor of the main building. There was a musty smell that hits you when you open the door. It does get mitigated if you open the window but will return if you close the window. Also the room presented a very tired look and needs updating. The common area including the French restaurant looked good though. I can't recommend this hotel because of the room conditions

• Verified traveler (8/5): 慢活箱根 酒店作為基地都唔錯 - 去到酒店已經係夜晚八點幾，上嘅山路都算多，建議最好在日間。由於沒有訂餐關係，服務員介紹附近一間只需步行10多分鐘的居酒屋唔錯。 溫泉關門時間為午夜12點，所以每晚夜歸都可以盡量享受浸浴先至入睡。 早餐不是buffet， 選擇比較簡單，只有日式或西式。 總共住了三晚，省了搬酒店時間。 自駕遊，酒店提供充足嘅泊車位，由酒店出發其他景點都方便。

• NorthEasternMan (8/5): A gem, if needing a polish! - Well....the setting is stunning and the hotel is low-rise so it nestles into the landscape without too much intrusion. Rooms are clean and well presented, if a little tired and in need of a revamp. No such thing as USB points here - bring your adapter! The view from my room was woodland with only a very faint road noise to intrude on the birdsong. The onsen was exceptional, particularly the outdoor bath (tastefully screened with vegetation) and robes were provided for the walk there from the room. Silver service breakfast was efficiently delivered if underwhelming, especially for my GF companion. The main problem we had as a party of 17 was that the restaurant was fully booked for a function on the night we stayed, and local eateries were scarce. The Italian nearby turned the 3 of us away as they were full. We found a small family run place which, with some lost in translation efforts provided excellent ramen for us. With some investment in modernisation of the rooms this hotel really would be hard to beat. Oh, and you can take your dog too!

• Verified traveler (10/5): また行きたいです。 - 広大な庭が素敵。 青い空、緑の芝生、緑の木々、川のせせらぎ。 フレンチジャポネと名付けられたフランス料理はやさしい味付けで美味しかった。 温泉はいいお湯だし、風呂から出たところでのんびり休めるスペースもうれしい。 チェックアウトが午後12時で、のんびりできました。

• Christy (10/5): - The staff is incredibly helpful and warm. The on-site onsen is amazing. The Hakone bus stops right out front, and it is cheap and takes you everywhere. Food at the hotel includes only one VERY expensive restaurant, but local eateries, a noodle house, Korean BBQ and Italian are within a 15 minute walk or 5 minute bus ride.

• Verified traveler (10/5): 快適でした - 静かに自然の中で快適に過ごせました。敷地内を通って直接星の王子さまミュージアムへの移動はとてもワクワクし、敷地内の朝の散歩はとても気持ちが良く、星の王子さまミュージアム、ポーラ美術館の前売りをフロントで割引で購入し、とても楽しめました。 また違う季節でぜひ伺いたいと思っています。
• Verified traveler (10/5): とても快適でした！ - 初めて利用させていただきましたが、スタッフ方々のホスピタリティ含め全てよかったです！施設内も庭園も広々としていてゆったりと過ごせました。白濁の温泉もとてもよかったです。次回は迷わずディナー付きのプランを利用したいと思います。

• Akemi (8/5): - 建物は古いですが、綺麗は行き届いてました。夜のコース料理は期待してませんでしたが、一品一品とても美味しくて、スピードも丁度良くて大満足でした。 またお風呂の混み具合もQRコードで確認できるシステムになっていて、とても良いと思います。ホテルのガーデンも美しくて、天気もよかったので、気分転換になりました。お土産ショップの品揃えが今ひとつでした。
• ik31 (6/5): Need improvement on cleanliness, love in-room private onsen - Stayed here for 1 night, staff were helpful in guiding us to our room after check-in. Room were very big, and there was an in-room private onsen. However, the room was not very clean as I found pee stains on toilet bowl cover and basin area. The shower area is open see through glass overlooking the outdoor private onsen and forest (my husband and I were skeptical if anyone would walk by since we were not told if it is a enclosed forest). It was a relatively quiet hotel when we check-in and check-out. Reception staff were non-english speaking hence they could not help us when we seek help on an emergency issue. Overall experience could be better.
