Guest Reviews
- Rupert James (10/5): - Very close to the centre, down a quiet side street.
- Jodie (10/5): - Enjoyed our stay
- Kathleen (10/5): - Great!!
- Hector (6/5): - Affordable place, exactly what you need. For any question or concern Luka is your guy!
- John (10/5): Take me back - We stayed overnight. We were warmly welcomed. The room was spacious, clean and the bed was very comfortable. The location was excellent and close to all the tourist spots. There were plenty of shops and eating places nearby. Highly recommend this accomodation.
- Alireza (6/5): - The property was overall okay but it was hard to find it and there was no amenity in the room. I wouldn’t go to the same place.
- ALFRED (10/5): - Zentraler geht es nicht
- Mina (10/5): - Dans le centre ville
- Verified traveler (6/5): Barulho - Great location, but the rooms are very noisy. I woke up in the middle of the night with someone knocking on the reception door, the hotel doesn't have a 24-hour reception. The rooms have poor soundproofing, lots of noise from the street and other hotel guests.
- Markus (10/5): Tolle Lage - Sehr gut gelegene Unterkunft, sehr netter Eigentümer, alles bestens, nur eher etwas lautes Zimmer.
- Aline (8/5): - The location was perfect, in the center, and in mine opinion on the good side of the Rialto bridge. It’s located in a very small street. The hotel has only stairs but fine for us. The room is basic but very clean and smells nice. There is no magnifying mirror and I forgot to bring my own. It would be lovely if there is one. Personally we found the pillows too stiff, so the next time we bring our pillow.
But overall we found the place perfect and we want to stay here for the next time when we are going to Venice.
- natalie (10/5): - This is a charming, clean and comfortable hotel in the heart of downtown Venice. Everything was walkable. Entirely recommend!
Sehr hübsch in typisch venezianischem Stil eingerichtet.
- Marzena (10/5): - Location was great .
- Oscar (10/5): - Excellent stay, friendly staff, very convenient
- David (8/5): - The host was amazing, very friendly and helpful. The accommodations were good. We were only there one night, but it was a very convenient location!!
The wifi was quite slow and shower water pressure was low, but the place was clean and comfortable for sure.
- Maryanne (8/5): - The property is located very conveniently between The Rialto Bridge and St Mark's Square. It is clean and quiet. Make sure the owner knows exactly when you are arriving as we were left waiting outside for half an hour, trying to contact owner without success. Was pure luck another guest came home and let us in, where we found our key at an unmanned reception! Lots of stairs to rooms, and no lift.
- Kyung-Soon (10/5): - My husband and I enjoyed staying at this place
Old building but clean and have everything we needed
Location is excellent
Walkable to everywhere
Luca at the office was very kind and helpful
He even carried my luggage up to my room after I checked in Also he let us leave our luggages there after we checked out because our flight to London was late evening
And he emailed us instructions about finding place so we didn’t have any trouble to find it Just one thing I don’t like was that there is no elevator but it worked out okay for us
- Jacob (10/5): - Excellent stay at this B&B, very friendly and helpful host! Highly recommend!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Host was amazing and very accommodating! In the heart of Venice! Great location!
- Quintin (4/5): - Although the location was fine, the space was meh. Shower was the smallest ever, the Wi-Fi never worked, the a/c didn’t cool the space down, 3 story carrying luggage. On top of that we got in mid day and there was no service with the key left on the counter. I would have selected a different location had we known.
- Daniel (10/5): - This was a great place to stay, very clean and very comfortable. It had plenty of space and A/C!!! The host was so welcoming and helpful. We arrived early and were able to stash our bags and walk around Venice then come back. As well we had to checkout well before our train was leaving, so they held our bags for us so we could explore the city before picking up the bags. I had a fragile mask in a bag and they were very careful with it and communicated it to everyone in the staff to be careful with it. I highly recommend. I would stay here again if I ever go back to Venice.
- MERCY (6/5): - Property is centrally located. Clean, basic room with a mini fridge. Big plus we had a AC that worked. No elevators, so be prepared to carry your luggages up the stairs. The host was very professional and helpful.
- Randell (4/5): - We booked with this hotel because Expedia listed Air Conditioning as an amenity. When we arrived, we learned there are stipulations such as daily surcharges and also certain months when AC cannot be used. There is also an optional, daily fee to use appliances such the mini fridge.
The cost is not worrisome to me. I believe businesses should stand to make a profit. But the bait and switch nature of this operation was disheartening. If there are certain months of the year when the AC units will not be operating, it should be explained up front on the Expedia listing. What if my wife is pregnant and I want to make her as comfortable as possible?
Also, the hotel operator (Luca) did not follow through on his communications. For example, he committed to check if a fan was available for me to borrow. During another conversation, he offered to leave mosquito repellent in our room in case we needed to open the windows at night. Neither one of these solutions materialized, which is totally acceptable. But Luca didn't close the communication to at least tell us he came up empty handed.
My wife and I felt we were being deceived, so we checked out earlier than scheduled and we booked another hotel in the area. We didn't care to seek any reimbursement as to honour the reservation.
On the bright side, the woman we dealt with at checkout was very lovely, and the property is very clean. But if you intend to pay for and use the AC, I recommend you confirm this ahead of time.
- Laura (8/5): - Clean, spacious room - very well located - short walk to both Rialto bridge and St. Marks but just far enough off the main path to feel less in the mayhem - though a couple nights 4 am street noise was annoying/disturbing.
Nice breakfast - staff very helpful.
Would recommend.
- Marcia (10/5): - An amazing and quaint hotel in keeping with the vibe of Venice. Luca the proprietor, was gracious and helpful. Very much enjoyed our stay there
- Arturo (2/5): Hidden fees, horrible service and amenities - A huge disappointment!!! It is listed as a B&B but charges an additional $16/ person/ day for any breakfast. Then there is an additional $30 fee for checking in late even though I explained our plane arrived at 7pm. (**late check-is defined as after 8pm**) They charged us twice on our credit card for a hold in case of any incidentals. AND they insisted the $3 tax per day be paid in CASH. They said something about saving money so they didn't have to pay additional taxes??? It seemed really suspicious and I felt very uncomfortable.
The room was not convenient either. There were 2 mirrors in the room but both were in the bathroom so it was difficult to get ready. Also there was only 1 wardrobe closet so you are not able to take out clothes
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great stay at the b&b - quirky but lovely ‘townhouse’ right in the centre. Staff were great, room really nice, clean and comfortable:
We would have liked to have got the breakfast included - you only get that booking direct - as it was €14pp after booking, but lots of great places around the area for breakfast.
Only gripe was €30 charge for arriving late when there wasn’t anyone there to greet us and was buzzed in remotely, which seemed high.
Overall great - will definitely use again
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent location 2 mins from both Rialto bridge and St Marks square.
Luca was exceptionally helpful with advice on places to visit. Had all the time in the world.
The B and B is quite spacious inside with large rooms and good facilities. Very clean too.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Location excellent. Very clean and bed comfortable and large. Plenty of space in bedroom. Very traditional Venetian - tall house close to others but not noisy from outside.
Has a hairdryer and plenty of towels and room is tidied and bed made each day.
There is no lift but that is the nature of such an old building. Would benefit from a long mirror in the bedroom but not essential.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The property is so central to st Marks square and Rialto, a perfect base for exploring Venice. Luca was very nice and explained everything. There are lots of stairs at the property, we were on the 4th floor for us this was ok but an older couple may struggle. The room was basic but clean and we had a view of the bell tower
- Bart (10/5): - This is an absolutely beautiful property right in the heart of the action. Minutes from all the main attractions and ferry stops. The room was old a beautiful, the bed was comfortable and the bathroom was nice. Lots of large windows to open and avoid the use of the AC. We did check the AC though and it was cool and effecient.
Also Luca is amazing!
10/10 would stay again.
- Richard (10/5): Venice in summer - Good location easy to find. Helpful staff and mist important a good air conditioner.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A real traditional Venetian property, family business. We were welcomed very kindly.
- Rich (10/5): - The building was beautiful and the staff were friendly. It was quiet and clean.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Location great, so central, literally 5 minutes walk from st marks square. . Second floor and very quiet at night.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We enjoyed the stay at the hotel.
The staff is very kindly and responsive to any request.
The hotel is in the center of Venice a short walk to Rialto Bridge and St. Mark's Squer.
The hotel is clean and the room was spavious and quiet with 2 windows.
It doesn't have a lift
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very friendly and welcoming staff helpful with directions and great at breakfast couldnt fault them
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The friendly atmosphere and the clean spacious rooms!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - This is a great little hotel - good value for the area, and such a great location. Everyone working here greeted us with a smile and was really helpful. The room was a great size and very clean. The only downside was that the room we were in was not that quiet at night as the street was so busy on that side of the building. We could also hear the people in the room above us as their bed was very creaky, and the noise kept me awake.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Great location although difficult to find on first evening. Spacious and clean room. Charged late check in fee although no one stayed
- Verified traveler (8/5): Great location - Pros - Great location, easy access to major attractions & water taxi stop. The staff was welcoming & helpful. There was music playing as we entered the B&B, giving it a nice character. Room was big, the view from window was a typical narrow Venice lane.
Cons - Stairs. Not convenient to climb 2 levels with all the luggage. The shower area was very tiny. The bed was squeaky. Also it will be helpful if there was a board outside the B&B, took us sometime to find it.
- Clare (10/5): Excellent stay - Excellent location close to everything you need. Service was very pleasant and the room was very clean. Great value for money I would stay here again
- Roz (8/5): - Ideal, central location. Great hosts! Would recommend for a short break in Venice.
- Joanna (10/5): Perfect for a city break - Beautiful room, clean, very friendly service, great location.
- Elena (10/5): Alloggi B@B - Very convenient place to stay,3 min from Realto Bridge, 3min to San Marco.
Lovely room, quiet, clean, spacious. Very happy to stay again.
- Steven (6/5): Great location but very basic - Hotel in a great location close to Rialto bridge, San Marco and transport links. However Is very close to a local church that sounds it’s bells at 7 every morning. Our room as 201 and was next to the cleaning room and the maid woke us up every morning. The rooms are very clean and kept well. Rooms are very basic with no frills ( no kettle, refrigerator, toiletries, 1 towel per person extras are paid for). I would recommend this hotel for a night or 2 but no longer. Is very central but very very basic.
- Eddie (6/5): - it was alright>
- Fabrizio (10/5): - Had a really great experience from check in to check out.
Would recommend this place without reservation.
Clean, spacious everything works well and the management staff provide exceptional service
- Melissa (8/5): Great location for a short stay - We stayed here for 3 nights and it was perfect for what we needed, we were close to all the major points of interest but away from the busier streets so it wasn’t loud on a night time. Room was clean and a decent size, the air con was great especially in the very warm weather we had! Be aware that check in is 2-8 and if you want to check in later there’s a €30 charge which wasn’t a problem because it was still cheaper than other places in Venice at short notice. Had a great stay here and would definitely stay again given the chance.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Venice - Checking in was easy and Luca and his mom were very welcoming and gave us information on places to visit and where to eat locally. St. Mark's Square was very close by.
- David (6/5): Overall not great - Great location and very nice people that run it but the room smelled of damp quite bad and took away a lot from the experience
- Rosemary (10/5): - The hotel is family owned and operated. It was a wonderful experience and very comfortable.
- Luz (10/5): Byron New York - Every thing was superve clean rooms execelent service I highly recommend this establishment
- Thomas (10/5): - This hotel was perfectly located in the center of everything, so convenient to everything. It was a great small boutique hotel, clean and comfortable. I would definitely stay here again.
- Luis (10/5): Amazing city & lovely hotel - Luca attention to detail was by far one of the best things of our two nights stay in Venice, the hotel was easy to find with google maps and once inside everything was spotless. I highly recommend staying in this hotel, location is great, close to San Marco square and Rialto Bridge you can't go wrong.
- Jing Er (8/5): - Amazing stay!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location, great room, excellent staff. Fantastic experience.
- PC (8/5): Location! Location! Location! - What can I say... The location was awesome! So let’s talk about the B&B; If you’re looking for a 5 Star Hotel this is not it. However, if you discount this B&B you are mistaken and missing out. The room I was in, was basic and extremely clean. It served its purpose. The staff was extremely professional, kind, and did everything to fulfill a request. Luca, the manager, was phenomenal!!!! I highly recommmend this B&B to anyone looking for a place to stay while in Venice within a reasonable price!
- Terry & Janet (10/5): Central to major attractions - Had a fabulous stay in this hotel which was situated in an ideal location near to major attractions and water bus routes.
Luca was very helpful, thank you.
- Jennie (8/5): - No hot water for shower. Only saw staff once, but she was friendly. When booking there was a picture of a balcony. We were looking forward to being able to sit outside in the evening. However there was no belcony. Appears a photo of a chair inside of the breakfast room next to a window was taken to make it look like you were outside.
- Derek (6/5): Great location, bad wifi. - The Hotel was in a good location, a little hard to find. Friendly staff, clean and comfortable. The wifi was horrible. The narrowness of the streets and buildings make it a little essential for wifi internet as phone carrier connections are difficult due to building interference. It made it nearly impossible to research anything for activities within Venice, a city that is already so hard to navigate. We stayed 4 nights and the wifi only worked one evening. In October they shut off the air conditioning in the rooms, which means you have to open your windows to cool the room down in the evening (no window screens), which lets the mosquitoes in that will eat you alive during the night, so, bring repellent. Overall it is a great location near the Rialto Bridge, 5 minute walk to San Marco Square, good bang for your buck.
- Pete (10/5): Perfect location for visiting Venice - We were given all the information before we set off on how to find the hotel by the manager, Luca, as well as choice of twin or double room. Located right near Rialto bridge so it's easy to get your luggage there from the water stop on the Grand Canal. Warm welcome on arrival. Use of facilities such as iron and board as well as optional mini bar with good prices. East to sleep at night as there are shutters. Visiting the tourist attractions was very easy as the hotel was in the middle of them so would recommend to anyone visiting for the first time. Would definitely stay again if re-visiting Venice.
- claire (8/5): - Stayed two nights. Location great but no view if that is what you are looking for. Room clean but basic ie. No TV (although it didn't bother us). Great breakfast although that was an extra cost. Easy check in and great advice on seeing sights! Love Venice!
- Megan (8/5): Great location and Host - This hotel has an excellent location and price. Upon our arrival, our host Luca, very patiently answered our questions and gave great tips on where to eat outside the tourist area, saving us quite a few euros. We were there during a heat wave, so it made our stay much more pleasant to be able to get out of the heat during the hottest hours, and relax in our air conditioned room and refresh, before continuing on with our day. As the Alloggi is so conveniently located, this was easy. Luca was an amazing host and made our stay very welcoming. The room was clean, quiet, and safe. A couple of things could be a bit better, but are minor. The bed was very hard, the pillows flat, and the hair dryer useless. If you do not mind a hard bed, this is the place for you! As we do not require a large breakfast, we saved a few euros by going to a local cafe, which added to our experience in Venice. The Wifi was also good, and for a small fee, the mini fridge is available to cool your wine. Despite the hard bed, if I return to Venice, I would stay here again.
- Rosvan (10/5): Excellent generosity n hospitality - We had pleasant stay. Travelling wasn't a issue for Us Coz hotel location is perfect.
We like to visit again and stay in same hotel .
- Ken M (10/5): Great hotel in the heart of Venice - Our room was clean, had a nice ceramic(?) floor, and the bathroom was updated recently. The staff is very friendly, and their breakfast has a nice variety of cakes and fruits.
- Carla (10/5): Perfect Location - Lovely B&B. Would recommend it for families as it had enough space for all 4 of us. Luca was an amazing host.
- Simon (4/5): No water for a few hours in the night - For a hotel with almost 4 stars in hotels.com, I was pretty disappointed. The stay, location and cleanliness was acceptable but there was no supply of water in the hotel for a few hours in the night and there was no one to respond in the reception desk or pick up my call. We had an early morning check out the next day and it definitely was a concern. The next morning we were told that this was expected due to a repair. It would have been helpful if we were informed before we panicked.
The attached photo shows their note at their reception desk.
- Felisha (8/5): A little charm - A little hard to find, but great staff made our stay great!!!
- Julia (10/5): - This hotel is fantastic in every aspect. Our stay was room only and there are loads of nice corner cafes around to get breakfast. Luca, the proprietor, is welcoming and helpful. Our room on the third floor was spacious and comfortable. Wonderful location too.
- Loretta (10/5): Will definitely recommend and book it again! - The location was fantastic! The manager was very helpful with some issues I had calling to the States and he was helpful with train information etc. We were able to leave our luggage while we walked around. They had a bathroom and shower room available should we have needed it prior to our departure on the train. There was no lift and we were on the 4th floor, but it just made our legs stronger. Large clean room with beautiful antique furniture.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good for the Money - It was a good hotel for the money but the place has no elevator so you're responsible for carrying your luggage in and out.
- Mara (6/5): Not great - This hotel is INCREDIBLY hard to find, we spent about an hour and a half wandering the streets of Venice because the address given was slightly different from the actual address. Beds were okay, pillows not comfortable at all. No elevator so our room on the "4th" floor meant we had to climb 6 flights of stairs to get to our room.
- Vern (8/5): Great location - Lots of stairs (72) to our room, but well worth it. Never saw anyone at the front counter; keys were left for us. Great stay!
- Sonia (8/5): - The building is nice, room is spacious, clean, and has all you will need. Lucca was nice, helpful, and accommodating. The bed was very hard and uncomfortable. The pillows were just as bad. The shower was extremely small.
- Robert (6/5): Great location but choose elsewhere. - The room had not been cleaned in who knows how long. It was so dusty. There was a charge for the remote for the AC! It says AC is included there. I had to climb 5 flights of stairs pregnant.... The location was great and the man who checked us in was super friendly and helpful... I would look elsewhere though.
- Verified traveler (8/5): The best location - Great 3 night stay at alloggi b&b allegri. The location is the best, few mins walk to either Rialto bridge or st marks and Luca the host is amazing. Nothing is too much trouble for him and hes always at hand to help with questions and give advice.
The accomodation is clean and comfortable, and we had a nice spacious room with two large windows. It's above a street so can be noisy at night, but you are right in the centre so didn't see this as a problem.
- Irina (8/5): Lovely stay, great location - Great location, cute rooms, nice staff, only complaint is that the wifi was spotty at times.
- Venice Easter (10/5): Lovely B&B style hotel. Sleeping Bear - Lovely B&B style hotel. Friendly and helpful staff. Large, clean and spacious bed rooms. Lovely as much as you can eat continental breakfast. St Mark's Sq and Rialto Bridge 5 mins walk away.
