Guest Reviews
- L8013OGsilvias (8/5): Basic & close the center - Basic family-run hostel. Beds are comfortable and showers are provided with hot water. They also offer tours but we didn't have the opportunity to join them. It is two minutes walking from main spots. Breakfast is available but not complimentary. Bernando -the owner- is really helpful and nice, he may be the key if you need advise on your trip details.
- 698olgav (2/5): Never again. Please don't do it. - It was the worst experience in my life. In two different rooms the same troubles.
Problems with shower, with toilet, no hairdryer... cold and very noisy. But the worst was the personal working there. Don't know how to talk with clients. Done a mistake and say that is our fault do not to say that black t-shirts should wash in cold water.. and not with red and white clothes in hot water... Bad attitude of staff was the worst.
- sandy22121958 (4/5): Sleepless nights - We were let down by another hotel and placed here as an alternative late at night, which we were initially grateful for. We had an ensuite room which could have done with being redecorating and a good clean. Under the beds were filthy. The shower was weak and not very hot. At night there is a constant cacophony of traffic, horn blowing and dogs barking. On the second night large group arrived at 2 am and the noise was so bad I actually got up and asked them to consider the people trying to sleep, to no avail. Seemed to be no management control over the situation. Other than that the staff were friendly. Continental and American breakfast available, not included, and a laundry service is available.
- RevyAdventure (4/5): Rate 3 for accommodation; 1 for tour arrangements - This is a typical Budget hostel, not great but gets you by. Bathroom functional but hot water unreliable. Good price considering the location. Do not expect North American standards , they don't exist.
Do not book tours through this hostel. Bernardo was very helpful in explaining the tour, unfortunately it is contracted out and did not meet the stated conditions. We did Salkantey trek. It had some outstanding aspects, but the tour company and guide were highly disorganized and attempted to extract more money after the tour began. Sleeping locations were terrible.
- robinh391 (2/5): Awful experience for 5 nights - Do NOT come to this hostel unless there is absolutely no where else to go. It is horrific. The facilities do NOT work.We changed room twice and both showers were broken. Ants coming out of the walls. The included breakfast..... is TEA. Yes, tea. The staff are veryunhelpful and know little about the city. Take my advice, i am sitting at breakfast typing this right now!
- 872larsj (2/5): Don´t do it... - The hostel-facilities are ok, even though the beds were a bit hard and the hot water comes out of suspicious electric heater-machines.
What you should NOT do, is buying a tour through the Hostel. The manager Bernardo sold us a 2-night tour to Macchu Pichu 150 USD over the price of what we could do it for our selves. Of course we found out to late, and were very dissapointed, feeling he had abused our trust. We know it´s a game, and it´s a sport to get as much out of the tourists as possible, - but now we have the opportunity to evaluate the hostel, we think they "earned" that people should know.
Be carefull buying a tour anywhere in the city.
- Shaychuk (4/5): if you are a backpacker this might not be the best option - for you although it is located very close to plaza del armas and the price is fair
wi-fi signal is very poor even most of the time doesn't work ,
no self kitchen ,although the owners are very nice I didn't feel like home there.
