Vick (10/5): Book this place, you don’t know what you are missing out on. - The keeper of the the bnb was communicative and extremely helpful when I called her to let her know that I had purchased a ticket on Booking. She said she would have the light waiting on for me. When I arrived the keeper of the bnb was so welcoming and helpful. The room was exactly as described and the bed was comfortable. The room had air conditioning, an overhead fan and I notice a heating system. Which created a cozy environment. Then the morning breakfast was a continental breakfast, there was a variety of food including hard boiled eggs, bagels, fruit and so much more. The the blueberry pastries were delicious. I will definitely return to this place because they make you feel like family and it’s really affordable. Thanks so much for creating a wonderful home away from home.

It was not a huge deal, but parking was 2 blocks away but was still walkable. Thank God, the weather was decent. Apparently, I had read some older reviews that mentioned "full" breakfast was served. This is not the case any longer. I was informed they used to have a chef. It is a continental breakfast, which is listed in description. Just wanted to point that out since I was expecting something else. Breakfast was still filling, though.

Un lieu plein de charme très bien situé, on a pu visité Philadelphie à pied dans son intégralité. Des petits peignoirs en chambre et des petites bouteilles d’eau.. pour un établissement à ce prix, ces petites attentions font très plaisir. Also, go support the Japanese restaurant one block away - it was so delicious we went two days in a row. The only downside was the bed in the Liberty Room. It was way too soft and likely a very old mattress, and it was rather uncomfortable for 2 people to sleep in it.

The layout of the historic home was delightful including the warm & inviting parlor/sitting room. It says you can temporarily use the loading zone to bring bags in but there are parked cars there so that is not accurate. The breakfast was not special (mass produced plastic wrapped pastries, underripe melon, hard boiled eggs)

The staff was very friendly. The buildings are very clean and beds comfortable. The breakfast is a good spread of something for everyone with the hard-boiled eggs, fresh fruit, coffee cake, which seemed to be homemade/housemade and so delicious. We liked everything.

Ralph (8/5): - Nice room, clean and comfortable. Wonderful, walkable neighborhood. We felt welcomed and comfortable by the manager (Maja) when we arrived. She was terrific. I wish she had been part of the next day’s crew - no one showed up to prepare breakfast (this IS supposed to be a Bed & BREAKFAST) … many guests got fed up waiting and had to go out to purchase breakfast elsewhere. No adjustments in price were offered for this inconvenience. What should have been a very enjoyable visit turned out to be disappointing. I expect this does not happen very often (especially because Maja was a magnificent hostess), but I do believe there should be an apology (and a partial refund) forthcoming from management. I hope they do the right thing - that would make me eager to return. Without that, I would never return to or recommend staying there.
Russell (8/5): - An old building full of charm in a nice neighbourhood about a 15 minute walk from City Hall. My room was on the 4th floor, there was no elevator and the shared areas were hot. The room was in setting with the rest of the building, it had a ceiling fan and AC unit, both were quiet and effective. There was no fridge, microwave or TV which was a little disappointing. There were 2 bottles of water though. I arrived at 1:30pm and my room was available which was great. The bed was comfortable and the room was very quiet during the night which meant a good nights sleep. The bathroom was outside, adjacent to my room and was shared with one other room but the door wouldn’t fully close which wasn’t ideal. There was a nice dining room and a good breakfast was provided. When checking out I was able to leave my luggage for a few hours, and during my 2 nights there the staff couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful. Definitely a good option for a stay in Philadelphia.

Nina (8/5): - Fantastic location on a lovely, tree-lined street near Rittenhouse Square. The rooms are a little worn, but clean and spacious. The breakfast is simpler than what is pictured on the website, but more than adequate. Philly has no shortage of great food, so you’ll still leave town well fed!
