- Judi (8/5): - Nice clean room however our room was on the third floor and since there is no elevator it was a challenge lugging up the luggage plus just going up and down the steep stairs. Great breakfast.

- Dorinda (6/5): Not what we expected - When we got to our room, I found a pill (under the bedside table) unsure what it was. The bed was “rock hard” not just firm. There is no coffee pot in the room, so we had to wait until 0830 am, when breakfast was served to get a cup of coffee!! I don’t know about anyone else, but my husband and I get up very early every morning. We are usually on our second cup of coffee by 0830 and the breakfast dishes are washed and put away shortly after breakfast. We love Natchitoches, but we will definitely stay somewhere else. Somewhere with comfortable beds and a coffee pot would be nice.

- Patrick (8/5): Hotel is ok, extremely bad experience of this city - It's a 100+ year-old small hotel. Pretty good for a quick stop on our way from DFW to NOLA. We have no problem with the hotel. However, when we tried to take a 4 min walk to the nearest restaurant, some punks in a pick up truck drove by yelled at us and threw a bottle cap which hit my wife. It is saddening to witness young people in this part of the country feel they can treat people like that.

- Danny (6/5): - I tried to reach out several times to the owner via phone and email to the numbers provided and each time I received no response back. I did have a person that no longer worked at the property to message me back to say they no longer was employed there and they did provide me a number to the owner, which I called and never receive a call back. Check in was easy, room was large but had very limited seating areas the small bench couch was not comfortable to sit on, no coffee maker in the room, no blow dryer, the bed was uncomfortable due to sinking, curtain for the bathroom door, and the breakfast was good, but looked nothing like the advertisement mentioned.

The porch is so nice to sit on and have morning cofee or a glass of wine in the evenings! Nothing like waking up and smelling a homade breakfast and someone else did the cooking for you! The owner of the house was verry kind and welcoming.

Nachitoches is a great little city, surrounded by rich history.

Every morning we started the day with a bountiful & delicious breakfast and every evening we were welcomed home by wine and cookies. The location was a quick 5 min walk to the downtown square where we could shop, eat, and just enjoy ourselves without needing to fight for parking. We had a short trip and spent most of it outside, but if we had a few more days we would have spent an entire day in the library reading and playing games. This was a special treat and thank you for such an amazing weekend with my daughter. We had a blast!

- Quentin (10/5): - First, a few things to note - the stairs for the 2nd floor are a lovely grand staircase; the stairs for the 3rd floor are a bit narrow & steep; if stairs give you trouble, request a 2nd floor room. Also, the walls are a bit thin between rooms (we could hear the people next door talking, as if they were right in our room), so if noise is a concern bring earplugs or a source of white noise to mask it. Other than that, the place is wonderful! We were able to walk to downtown from there, parking is fantastic, lots of little great welcome items/amenities, absolutely beautiful property, and we would happily stay there again.

- Teresa (10/5): - My husband and I enjoy visiting & staying at historic properties for their uniqueness. Sweet Cane Inn did not disappoint. A grand home that has been maintained, filled with period furniture and decor. The rooms were spacious, comfy bed, over the top breakfast! In the main entry there was a complimentary bottle of chilled wine , also,a plate of chocolate chip cookies. The fridge in our room contained bottled water, and sodas. The only con is the main street is very busy, traffic noise.

Hostess very friendly. Cons…. Room was rather warm, no circulation, we had to cool it off after arrival, still warm. No ice in ice machine, no complimentary wine left in wine bottle ( due to 6:30 arrival). Stairs to third floor steep.

- Verified traveler (8/5): It’s the little things - The house is beautiful. The rooms were clean and had all the amenities we needed except for the in room coffee maker & ironing board listed in the amenities. They were missing and we are early risers and like to have coffee so that could’ve been better we didn’t realize their absence until 6am, so verify before going to bed. The gourmet chocolate was a single mushed Lindor... Our room was the Azalea room, which is on the front of the house near the road. If you are a light sleeper, this might not be the room for you. The bed however was very comfortable and the linens were quality and comfortable. The bathroom was clean with plenty of fluffy white towels and courtesy shampoo & conditioner. The in-room window AC unit kept things nice and cool and also added steady white noise, but needs to have the intake vent cleaned as it was quite dirty. In the public areas corners and window seats need a little attention (bugs & debris). Attention to details matters. Breakfast was yummy: scrambled eggs, sausage, hash-browns, and French toast with strawberries. There was also a choice of cereal and very overripe bananas. I would recommend the Sweet Cane Inn just check to see that the stated amenities are available upon arrival.

This room did not match the beauty of the lower floor. I was disappointed with my stay in this room. It would be a good idea for the owners to update this room.
