Guest Reviews
- Andreas (6/5): - Nicht viel weit weg vom Schuss TV kaputt Frühstück mäßig Das gleiche
- Danylo (7/5): It’s good place for a short stay as I was all day away on the tours. - Clean the room and change the beds sheet on my request. TV set didn’t work .
Rekommenderas varmt.
Kostade 300 pesos med taxi från flygplatsen. Tog 7 min.
(Tricykel billigare) Inget.

- Thorsten (6/5): - Bathroom was a mess. Nothing was in a good condition. The room was ok and front of the door it was nice looking.
- Tricia (6/5): Pleasant - The bathroom was dirty and the flusher was not working. The room was fair clean but not luxury. No facilities to go to airport or anywhere. Its all the street on road work
- David (8/5): Very good -
- Kyra (6/5): Pleasant -
- Jacqueline (10/5): Exceptional -
- Annet (8/5): - Het personeel is erg vriendelijk. Restaurantjes zijn op loopafstand. Prima bed. De badkamer/toilet heeft onderhoud nodig. Prima prijs/kwaliteitsverhouding.
- Anonymous (8/5): Very good -
- Eleanor (3/5): ok for a night. - good for price. unclean, quiet location.
- Lucy (8/5): Very good -
- F (8/5): Very good - The staff are very accommodating-they answered questions quickly and were able to cater to all our requests. The location is just near the airport and they have their own restaurant. Aircon and wifi is working well, and we like that they have a heater. We booked three rooms and one of the rooms has its sink and CR drainage smelling. Other than that, all good.
- Eshed (8/5): Very good -
- Michael (5/5): Passable -
- Mia (10/5): Great location, rooms and staff - Great location for the airport, wifi works brilliantly, clean and comfortable, staff were friendly and helpful with booking taxis to airport, there is also a chicken restaurant right next door that takes card so if like us this is your last stop before flying out of the Philippines that’s super helpful if your trying to get rid of your last pesos!
- ETC (8/5): - Friendly staff , good location , water heater does not work , breakfast is free but in very small portions
- lucyp907 (10/5): Good for the price - We stayed here for just the 1 night after a flight, the airport pick up was so easy and took us straight to the hotel.
Staff very friendly and room was nice and spacious. The air con was really good and the WiFi good in the reception area.
The gentleman on reception also arranged our transport to Port Barton for us.
Very good 1 night stay and very good service for the price
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Good food, nice place and the staff is very accomodating
- L4658GLgarym (10/5): I like Puerto Princesa. - The Balay Tukoy is a wonderful place to stay in Puerto Princesa. The rooms are spacious, clean and well-kept. Lth location is convenient to shopping, restaurants and the airport.
However, the best thing about the Balay Tukoy is the cordial and helpful staff and including the owners who are very available. I recommend the Balay Tukoy very highly.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Family oriented
Staff courteous
Excellent service from the ataff
Delicious food
Very accommodating
Owner friendly and involve in customer service.
- Courtney (6/5): Couldn’t have stayed longer - Stayed here for one night before flying the following day. The location of the property was great, and the layout just back from the road was really nice. The room itself was bigger than I expected. There was a fairly big gap underneath the door and by the time we were going to sleep I noticed ants all over the floor, a group on the wall by the ac, a group underneath our table. It made me feel very uncomfortable. The light coming in through the thin curtains also didn’t help. Free breakfast was available and there was a transfer to the airport which was good.
- Leonarda (10/5): Budget place with a friendly ambience - A nice place to stay and hospitable staff
- Verified traveler (2/5): - It’s next to a pretty decent restaurant. The room and the beds in particular were really bad. Even though I had already paid for the room I left and went to another place. The exterior of the property is decently kept. The rooms have no business being on any website!!!!!
- Ana (8/5): - Friendly and helpful staff. Our room was clean and beds were comfy. It was nice to call it our home while we were there. The food at the restaurant was superb!! My only suggestion is for the water heater in the barhroom, we didn't have to use it this time but for our next visit, we intend to bring our Canadian relatives who would need hot water to shower. Overall, we loved our stay and would recommend this amazing bed and breakfast hotel. :)
- Joy (10/5): Very accomodating :) - Thank you for offwring a ride to the airport and for allowing us to leave our things since our flight was 7om and we had to check out by 12noon.
Thank you!
- brucieg2015 (8/5): 3 nights in PP - Balay Inato is friendly, comfy, affordable and simple. If you want 5 stars then don't come here, if you want a clean room, relaxed atmosphere, some decent food across the way at Haim Chicken when you return after a day of rivers, beaches and tours then this is the place to be. Our transfers to and from airport were punctual and driven safely.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - No airport pick up. Breakfast is only Filipino meal. Wifi does not work continously.
- guestpc040716 (10/5): SUPER FUN STAY :) - My partner and I spend 3 days here and it was really fun. The staffs are always accommodating and helpful. The food, specially Haim Chicken Inasal is soooo lit and yummy! Must Stay! Highly recommended to stay here for family or partners. Even if you are just visiting solo :D
- liza (10/5): - Nice ambiance. Very accessible to transportation, it is near from the airport. The food is okey and staff are very accomodating. I will recommend Balay Inato to my friends and relatives.
- zafrir2015 (8/5): A place to be when in PPS - Arriving late night from El Nido was a very tiring trip but thanks to this very homey pension that you feel at home right at the doorstep. It's an pension comparable to a townhouse because you have a spacious garage/garden right infront of you. The wide reception area with a wooden interior creating a native ambiance is something that you would reminisce here in Palawan. Oh, and the Chicken inasal within the compound is something that the locals and the tourist are intentionally coming for when in Palawan. Its very close to the best restaurant too in the city, Kaluie restaurant is just 5minutes tricycle ride from this place. I would highly recommend this pension not only to backpackers but also to family trips.
- jasht2015 (6/5): Vacation with family - This is my second time with Balay Inato. The first time was before I got married. the first time I came in this hotel fell in love right away. The pension is far from grand hotels we go to in Manila but the ambiance the warm welcome of the staff and the way everything was prepared i did love it. it is so homey, so relaxing. Dave he was not the manager yet at that time was so accommodating. So on this trip I decided to bring my whole family. The rooms are still the same there are minor changes in the room interiors and i like it. the restaurant is double its size before. i love the paintings the art work and feels very millennial in all the deco. but one thing i noticed the food specially the chicken that i used to love is not as good as it was before. the inasal has its own distinctive taste that you would recognize right away but that taste wasn't there and so there other food on the menu but the custard (leche flan) it is a winner . also They are short of staff. when we arrived in Puerto Princessa we waited for our hotel transfer for about 40 min in the airport considering i called them a day before our arrival letting them know the details of our flight. we booked our accommodation 5 months ahead so they know our itinerary. The room boy was there in the front desk when i arrived he cant give me answer why they forgot to tell the driver to pick us up in the airport. then the fallowing days we came from our honda bay trip used well all our towels so next day it is all soiled and wet we went on on our next trips, this time underground tour and nearby beach when we came back to the hotel the room was not yet clean towels were not replaced. before we left that morning i told them to clean each room we got 4 rooms but none of it was made. so i was mad and asked the room boy why he said there is not enough people around only 2 of them but i think the whole day we are not in the room i think they can find time to clean it as they find plenty of time to browse on their phone while seated in the front desk. well a nice looking pension house like this needs good staff to make it a great place to stay in. Interior Improvement is impressive but great experience and good food makes a good impression
- N (6/5): Nice accomodation, horrible communication and serv - Didn't start well, left waiting for an hour for our promised transfer bus. We seemed to be the only ones who's accomodation hadn't picked them up. Made our own way, no apology. Not very good English. Not always some one on the desk. We had booked a tour and minibus on to El Nido, this hadn't been done also. Took forever for them to get back to us and confirm (it was after 10) because the bar shut, here isn't much around the local area either. So early night. Room and the general property are abosulutely fine. I left my selfie stick on the tour bus the following day. I have emailed twice and not had a response.
- RwenT (8/5): Very comfy, affordable and family friendly - The staff, first of all, are very accommodating. The guy (sorry did not remember his name) who collected us from the airport and drove us to the accommodation is very friendly and helpful. We hired two bedrooms and they are both clean and well maintained. Very quiet and yet lively on the appropriate time.
- LEMUEL LIBETA (10/5): Balay Inato - Very nice lodging with dining facilities and very near important places to go to. Staff are friendly and accommodating.
- Sally (8/5): Good and bad - I got there very late and left pretty early so I wasn’t there very long. The room was clean, bed okay, shower good. There was no Wi-Fi in the room at all and it stated there was. They told me that when I checked in. Also the breakfast was pretty bad. A piece of very over cooked fish to which you could get two bites out of, I swear if they had a gold fish bowl I would have sworn that’s where it came from and some white rice and a very greasy egg. They did provide a ride to the airport in an actual car instead of a tricycle so not a bad place just room for improvement.
- Sean (10/5): Simple, clean, good location - Couldn't be happier with our stay here, next door to some amazing places to eat, 5 minutes from the airport, 20 minutes walk into city centre, breakfast was served in the restaurant opposite, was super tasty and we ate in there a couple of nights too, staff couldn't have been more helpful. Rooms are basic but clean, there is a water cooler at reception for you to fill up your own bottle. Wifi could be better but it's the same everywhere in the Philippines.
- yamiyamagiwa (10/5): Stranded in Palawan - Our flight was cancelled and the airline did not provide accommodations because it was the weather that made them cancel it.
My aunt recommended this place since she knows the owner and told me that it's near the airport. It was 9 pm and we took a tricycle to Balay Inato not knowing what to expect. It cost 100 PHP for the tricycle since it was already late.
When we got there, the receptionist greeted us warmly and was accommodating. The room was clean, the bed and pillows were also clean. The water pressure in the shower needed a bit of work but the heater was working.
Balay Inato also owns Haim Chicken and we opted to eat dinner there since it was in the same property. The restaurant was great and they offered free WiFi which reached our bedroom!
They also offer airport transfers and the driver was prompt and he drive safely.
They had a team building on the day we were about to leave so they bought breakfast for us still since breakfast is included in the room rate. The room was pretty cheap considering they had cable TV and very clean rooms.
If ever I get stuck in Palawan again, I would without a doubt stay here again.
- Oliver (10/5): Nice hotel and they have free drop off to airport. - Nice clean and comfortable hotel. Close to airport and city centre.
- florentina (8/5): - nice place, good food and good service
- LeanA93 (10/5): Great place to stay at Puerto Princesa - We stayed for 2 days and 2 nights at Balay Inato as part of our tour.
The ambiance of the place was very nice; very homely and peaceful. It has a very large parking space and the rooms are like mini-houses, giving the sense of a small village.
The room we had was very spacious. It had 3 beds (2 normal size and 1 queen size bed), lots of cabinets, a small backyard, coffee tables, and a TV. There was also like a Kitchen Counter with a faucet as well so it was welcome addition. The Bathroom was good, it has a separation of the Toilet and Shower Area. There was no bidet though, but water pressure is strong.
There was also a restaurant inside called Haim Chicken Inato. The chicken was delicious. The ambiance was also great. I think they are not open late into the night though. If people want to go drinking, there are a lot of bars near the place.
The place was also very close to the airport as well as other establishments, like souvenir shops, restaurants, etc. Still need to take a Tricycle Ride to reach them.
There are small stores directly outside as well for those wanting to buy junk foods and the like.
Finally, there is a Free Wi-Fi that had good speeds (I think around 8Mbps). Although it was pretty spotty; it was just strong near the lobby and no signal inside our room (which was pretty far from the lobby).
Overall, a very nice and great place to stay!
- rommeld460 (10/5): Near to Airport and the Food is Great - Balay Inato Puerto Princessa Palawan The Food is Excellent and Room is Ok,staff is very Accomodating and its Very near to Airport of Puerto Princessa.Operates 6:00 am and Close at 10:30 pm. they have a Big Parking Space. They also served "FREE Breakfast". They have also offer "FREE Shuttle Service" (Pick-up or Drop Off) to the Airport of Puerto Princessa . I will Definetly come back with the whole family.
- madelosr (8/5): Great budget option - Stayed for a few nights in between island-hopping and touring the underground river, on the way back from El Nido. Everything's operational: working shower/toilet/water, working AC, working TV and wi-fi (although a little spotty). The room is fairly clean, and the breakfast service (served at the restaurant) was convenient and pretty good.
The Haim Chicken Inato Restaurant is also very conveniently located right next to the pension rooms--and it's delicious and cheap, so this was a definite bonus.
The staff were extremely accommodating, and easily extended our stay one more night when our plans at another hotel fell through.
- 572joyd (8/5): Comfy and clean - The place is clean and quiet, shower worked well, reception is not far from rooms yet you can contact them through room phone.service is okay.anyway,if you're on tour you'll be spending you're time outside whole day.
- 273isabelr (8/5): Clean Budget Hotel - Stayed in Balay Inato last May 15-17, 2016 from our trip from El Nido. For budget travelers, this is a good choice. Clean and Spacious Room. For 1,200/night with Free Breakfast for regular rooms. Their Family Room is Php1,400/ night but the room is really really big! It's so big that we had a problem with the aircondition unit. It couldnt make the whole room cold (Maybe the unit is old, or maybe its just really overly hot this summer) It comes with free breakfast. Just regular Filipino Breakfast w/ Garlic Rice, choice of Bangus/Chorizo and fried egg with a choice of coffee or juice. Its not so bad thou the serving is small. The hotel is beside the most famous "Haim Chicken Inato" which is very well known in Puerto Princesa. Dont forget to try it! It's like Chicken Inasal! Oh! and I must not forget that the restaurant's design is really nice! And the best part is? They have a free shuttle service to the airport for FREE!!! The airport is just a 5 minute drive from the inn! Would I go back here again? Definitely YES!
- chellebot (6/5): Clean and cheap place - I have a place in Elnido and need to travel by plane from puerto princesa and this us always the hotel where i stay overnight. I always recommend this pension with friends and they are happy for the service and the price.
- RobbieRavi (6/5): good hotel - This is a nice budget place to stay at Puerto Princesa. Also the good thing is that the popular Haim Chicken Inato is two steps from the hotel.
The rooms are clean and the décor is simple. The service is good too.
- dpri10 (6/5): Good, Comfortable Stay - I booked this hotel as a part of a tour package to Puerto Princesa, Palawan and below I have rated and reviewed different attributes of the hotel.
Cleanliness: (3/5)-The hotel rooms are well maintained, dirt free and orderly.
Comfort: (2.5/5)-The beds, pillows are quite comfortable. However, I personally found the blankets to be a bit rough and requested for a white cotton bed sheet to wear underneath the blanket.
Decor: Hotel (2.5/5) the décor is minimal and down-to-earth.
Facilities: (3/5) – The hotel offers basic essential amenities - satellite/cable TV, safety deposit boxes, concierge, room service, laundry service/dry cleaning, internet access. The two superb facilities are – 1)pickup/ drop from/to the airport; 2)massage and spa services provided in the room on request and at reasonable prices. The body massage that we requested was one of the best body massages I have taken ever!
Food & drinks: (3.5/5) -The famous Haim Chicken Inato shares the same campus as the hotel. So the place to eat lunch & dinner is pretty much decided! For the inclusive breakfast they have day-wise set menu options available.
Location: (3/5) – The hotel is about 0.5 km from the city center, 5 min van ride to PPS Airport (you can even walk to the airport!). Ditchay's bistro, NCCC Mall are at close proximity to the hotel. And right outside the hotel there are a couple of restaurants serving international cuisine as well.
Rooms: (3/5) They have double rooms (can accommodate 2 persons) and family rooms(can accommodate 3-4 persons). Rooms are equipped with aircon, LCD TV, towels, blankets and toiletries are complimentary. They have a total of 12 rooms available for hire.
Service: (3/5) – The check in was quick & hassle free. They even allowed us a late checkout, which was quite cool since our flight was in the evening!
Staff: (3/5) – The staff at the reception and we weren’t able to communicate well due to a language barrier, so every time we had a query or something to talk it was quite a difficult task! Other than that, the staff was polite, fun and helpful.
Value for money: (3/5)
Wi-Fi: (2/5) The connectivity isn’t so great, except at the reception and few rooms near to the reception area.
Overall: (3/5) – This is an average place, and fair to its prices and rates, with good service, food and staff.

- Supercristope (10/5): Quick visit in Puerto Princesa - On our way back to Manila from El Nido, our tour gave us a reservation for an overnight stay for this Hotel. It is literally walking distance from the Airport. They serve free breakfast as complimentary. The free wifi is really fast.
But I'm not sure what happen with the air-condition. It suddenly stop working around 4am. The good this is, we are checking out around 5am for our 7am flight.
- AbByahe (8/5): Good Place with Good Food! - The name itself gives you a clue already; Balay Inato, is a must place for travellers that likes to have a good place to stay in and to have a good place to eat. The hotel is beside the most famous "Haim Chicken Inato" which is very well known in Puerto Princesa. It is a 5-3 mins away from the airport and is near the town too. Very clean and spacious. Anyways, if you plan to stay there, I suggest you to order and taste exotic delicacies such as the "Tamilok" at Haim. PS: in the Reception area "Genda the poodle will welcome you there" hehe..
- matkeiser05 (10/5): Surprisingly affordable - Rooms are clean and spacious. Free breakfast comes with drinks and fruits. The ambience of the the hotel and restaurant is a plus! It's location is near the city proper. Room rates are surprisingly cheap. Will definitely come back again next time!
- crafty_dime (10/5): Laid-back and relaxing - Warm, friendly service, clean rooms, and delicious meals: these are the key factors in Balah Inato. The staff is always willing to help and to be of service. There is always someone at the Reception ready to answer questions or to accommodate requests. In addition, Glenda, the toy poodle sits at the counter to welcome guests in her quiet, cute “poodle-ish” way.
A meal is only a few steps away from the rooms. Their Haims chicken is the house specialty and a must-try. The other dishes are tasty as well.
The rooms are clean and comfortable. (I would caution you about ants which seem to find their way into almost anything.) They would supply the rooms with fresh towels, soap, and shampoo sachets. They provide a pitcher for filtered water which is available by the front desk.
For going around town, the tricycles are lined up at the entrance. The place has airport transfer making it stress-free to arrive and depart. Besides, the airport is merely 10 minutes away.
Balay Inato is a service oriented place where everyone has a warm smile for visitors. Public transportation is available just by the entrance. It is relaxing to stay at Balay Inato while waiting for the coordinated tour services in Palawan.
