The biggest highlight was the safari activities which blew us away, the lodge is perfectly located to do activities and also see wild animals throughout the day. He made sure check in was great, arranged for us to have an earlier flight home so we would not miss our connection and was our safari look out. He made it possible for us to spot 25 rhinos on our all day safari. He made sure we had everything we needed with some extra surprises. The entire staff was always so accommodating and friendly. The massage and room were amazing. The room was so full of character and had everything needed with a great view toward the river and bush. I can not imagine staying anywhere else for safaris in Nepal. Great job Bahari!

• Vaishnavi Kabadi (10/5): Great location & wonderful manager - It's right in the middle of the forest. Lovely plantation, courteous staff, most food items were good and most of all, very capable manager! Takes time for buggy to come to room, but that's okay. There were some issues, but, manager won us over with their efforts and made our stay comfortable. I would also suggest some other alternatives for liquids in the washroom, as they are thick and difficult to remove from the bottle. Shower flow can be better and even flow. Room sizes could really be better, with some nice seating options, especially since there shouldn't be space issues in the forest.

• Sharmila (10/5): Wonderful stay in Chitwan! - Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Barahi Jungle Lodge. I went there with my brother and we were both impressed with the facilities as well as the staff on site. It was during Christmas and the team had organised wonderful lunches and dinners for everyone staying. We also booked a jungle Safari and a boat Safari through the lodge and both were organised very well. We spotted rhinos Deers and several birds during the jungle Safari which was quite exciting. The guides for both were knowledgeable and very helpful. I must also talk about the wonderful location which overlooks the Rapti river and made for a calm and serene getaway. I wish I could have stayed for longer and will come back for sure. Nothing, it was perfect!

• Natalya (9/5): - We stayed at Bahari Jungle Lodge and overall had a pleasant experience, but there are some areas that clearly need improvement. Rooms & Facilities The rooms were very clean and maintained to a high standard, with several cleanings per day. The pool area was also clean with good service and plenty of fresh towels available. Food & Dining Breakfast was very good. Everything tasted fresh and well-prepared, with additional offerings like freshly made omelettes, pancakes, and even dosa. The dinner buffet was also very good. However, the “bush dinner” option for USD 35 per person was disappointing. We were promised a barbecue, but instead received a 9-course Indian dinner with cheap wine, which felt misleading. Safari Experiences The community forest safari is something I truly recommend. Visibility is much better due to the lower grass, and the fauna feels more diverse. We first did the national park safari early in the morning, but due to heavy fog it was very difficult to see anything. We only spotted a few common animals and a distant rhino, despite paying USD 125 per person. It felt like they may schedule it this early so they can fit two half-day safaris into one day, but I can’t say for sure. The community forest safari actually offered much better value for money. Unfortunately, after the safari they suddenly claimed the price was 35,000 even though the price list in the room clearly stated 22,500. They argued that the lower price only applies to Indian nationals, but this was not stated anywhere, and the price list was in English. This behaviour felt unethical. Concerns About Transparency They also seem to refresh the date on the “animals spotted today” board without actually updating the sightings. The people listed as having spotted the animals were not even on the guest list. When speaking to one of the guides, she confirmed that tiger sightings happen maybe twice a month, considering the park has only about 110 tigers. As doctors from Sweden, we are not “simple tourists” who don’t understand what’s going on. Transparency and honesty matter, and here the lodge needs improvement. Final Thoughts Bahari Jungle Lodge has great potential: clean rooms, good food, and beautiful surroundings. But they need to work on ethics, transparency, and keeping promises made to guests. Until then, I would recommend enjoying the accommodation but being cautious about the safari pricing and the “bush dinner” offerings.

Barahi Jungle Lodge was truly an incredible experience from start to finish. The lodge itself is absolutely beautiful, with a stunning pool area, elegant rooms, and a peaceful setting right by the river. The service was outstanding – the staff were always one step ahead, reading every wish from our lips. From the warm welcome to the heartfelt farewell, everything was perfectly taken care of. The General Manager was present and personally ensured that everything ran smoothly, which made the stay even more special. We joined several excursions, and I can especially recommend the morning boat safari – it’s a magical experience with breathtaking scenery, followed by a fantastic breakfast served right by the river. The food throughout our stay was exceptional, and every meal felt like a fine dining experience. Barahi Jungle Lodge is, without a doubt, the number one place to stay in Chitwan. Luxury, nature, and heartfelt hospitality combined – simply perfect! All more than Perfect!

Tastefully decorated and the resort has all you need. The staff were excellent and would do anything for you. The food was amazing so would highly recommend going here and avoiding the tourist trap that is Sauraha. It is more expensive to stay here but totally worth it. Nothing. All good

We were instantly welcomed by the staff in a way like I’ve never experience at any other hotel I’ve stayed at. The rooms are lovely and clean and serviced several times during the days. I don’t want to ruin the little surprises for other guests, but you’re well looked after here. Breakfast was amazing and the fact we saw crocodiles, elephants, deer and rhino on the opposite bank of the river makes Jungle Lodge one of the most special places I’ve experienced. Overall though it’s the staff that give this place the edge.

• Benjamin (10/5): Best Hotel for a luxurious jungle stay - Best experience ever! This is by far the best stop we’ve had so far in Nepal. Not only the jungle is breathtaking but the barahi jungle lodge takes such good care of you. Every single member of the staff is the kindest and sweetest person! All guides are super knowledgeable about the wildlife but even Nepali culture and truly keen to share their knowledge with you. Shout out to our guide Sagar who has made every single safari a once in a lifetime experience. Morning trips (boat tour and jeep) were the best, but they’re all totally worth it. If you have some extra time, make use of the spa! Prakash Chand, the hotel manager has made sure to tailor the perfect package for us and the duration of our stay. It was the perfect mix between adventure and relaxing! In between the safaris, you get some time to lay back and enjoy the great food - Tej Thanait makes sure of it! As another bonus: the hotel is environmentally conscious and takes care of its community. Totally can recommend and would urge you to book this amazing experience!!
• Sarah (10/5): Peaceful lodge on the banks of the river - We had a truly wonderful time Barahi jungle lodge. It was hugely relaxing and peaceful, with our beautiful room looking over the river. The beds were so comfortable and the bathroom was lovely too. Food was really delicious every meal. Loved all of it - very fresh and varied. We did two full days of drives and saw extensive wildlife, with a fleeting glimpse of a tiger in the distance. However the large number of rhino, deer, monkeys, some sloth bears, bison and birds mean that it’s a really enchanting experience in beautiful surroundings. Huge thanks to every member of the team for making it such a wonderful experience. There was extreme kindness and generosity shown. Nothing - enjoyed it all!

• Mandichhya (10/5): Most welcoming and great service - Barahi jungle lodge is very spacious and tucked away in the jungle from the hustle and bustle of the city. Perfect place to get a good nights sleep. The staffs were very welcoming and accommodating, service was top tier of all the hotels I’ve been around the world. We did the half day jungle safari with breakfast in the jungle. It was such a fun experience, we saw some rhinoceros and different species of monkeys and birds. We really enjoyed the cultural programs held during the evenings. It was very interactive, you could join the performance in the end. We booked spas, had one of the best massages. Highly recommend aromatherapy massage for relaxation. The hotel is fully eco friendly, most of the things they use are either recyclable or biodegradable. We realised there was a basketball court and a badminton court on the last day. Make sure to use it, ask the staffs at the reception for the badminton racket. The staffs are so friendly and take such good care of their guests. Special thank you for Samjhana(hope I spelled it right) and Tej for helping us around during our stay.

• Sabine (10/5): Bahari Jungle Lodge was the best experience - We had the pleasure to spend two nights at the Barahi jungle lodge on the banks of East Rapti River in Nepal. Already at Bharatpur airport we were welcomed by the lodge‘s pick-up service in person of most amiable Rajesh, who should turn out to be our naturalist guide for the whole stay. The Head-manager himself gave us a warm welcome and introduction into the lodge. We were impressed by the careful sustainability efforts in combination with a five star accomodation with all modern facilities close to the jungle. The staff was most caring, polite and attentive in all functions. The highlights of course were the Jeep Safari, Jungle walk and boat safari in the early morning in the park. Across the shallow Rapti river pick-up point is reached with a boat directly from the lodge. Safar jeeps wating for half or full-day trips. Driver and our guide Rajesh did a terrific job in showing vegetation and all wildlife Chitwan had to offer on that day including a stylish jungle tea/coffee with pastry. Deer, boars, bears, rhinos, monkeys, elefants are just the bigger animals, not speaking of peacocks and many other exotic birds. Safety was always key and we felt always secure and in best hands, either on the car or by foot during jungle walk. Both activities give a very good impression of the park‘s environment. Arriving from the trip with dust and sweat Barahi staff was waiting with refreshment towels and fresh water. A boat trip in the early morning on the calm Rapti river gave wonderful sight on birdlife and bigger animals crossing or bathing in the river. Dinner followed after a presentation of regional cultural dance with excellent cuisine listening to the sounds of the jungle by the pool. Coffee, tea, water was complementary all time with high-speed WiFi. Our bungalow met all expectations with enormous comfort. Wow, this was Nepali hospitality at its best. There is nothing to improve :)

• Jonathan (9/5): Beautiful Barahi - a special experience - Wonderful, well-run hotel in a fantastic position on the Rapti river. When we arrived at our suite we could hardly believe our eyes - absolutely stunning. We did a jungle drive which was magical and we saw a rhino with its baby! We also did the sundowner boat trip - highly recommend. It’s also worth walking or cycling around the local area - past fields of mustard and people going about their daily lives. Food was great too and the daily evening entertainment by local tribes was a fun experience. We had a couple of issues with one of the rooms at the start of our stay but the staff went out of their way to solve them quickly. In my opinion, it is not about the problem - it’s about how you deal with it. No complaints there.

Very remote; one small market in town where I was able to get iPhone cord. No ATM nearby so bring money. Safari activities very costly.
• Robert (10/5): An excellent hotel worth visiting and enjoying a few days in the Chitwan area. - An excellent and welcoming hotel in the Chitwan National Park area. Excellent hotel restaurant with daily live entertainment, hotel staff exceptionally helpful and always smiling and dedicated. We enjoyed the rich breakfast, vegetables, fruit and if the breakfast was not buffet style, it was possible to order directly with the chef's recommendation. Quiet outdoor seating by the pool. The insulation from the jungle heat was fantastic. Accommodation in cabins with all comfort and cleanliness. Everything down to the last detail. Foods generally very reasonably priced, more expensive alcohol is generally a matter of Nepal. The air conditioning is perfect and necessary, the toilet is clean, daily cleaning, the possibility to make coffee, fast internet as a matter of course. English as a language of communication is a matter of course. The Barahi chain of hotels is very similar and the services are exactly the same, at a high level. There is a swimming pool, a bar and places to rest and sunbathe. A 24/7 restaurant is the norm, security at the entrance always greets you and directs you if you ask for advice. Safari is a chapter unto itself. Breakfast in the jungle is inimitable. We saw a rhino right across the river from the hotel. We will definitely return to the hotel next year and can only recommend it. The price level is excellent, you will be hard pressed to find a better one. A clear choice for us.
• Lindsay (10/5): A first time safari experience that I will never forget. - The Lodge treated me like a valued guest and were willing to do things to accommodate my needs. They were always smiling and cheerful. The Lodge was across from the National Park so it was easy to do a safari, a bike ride or a boat ride. Thanks Guide Sagar for my 4 guided adventures where I was able to see a rhino with a baby, some gaur, a monitor lizard, lots of birds, elephants and deer. I will be back to find the tiger that we heard in the grass. The spa treatment was not up to standards for a deep tissue treatment but the hotel took care of the issue professionally without my knowledge when I checked out.

And the Full Day Safari (which everyone here is complaining to be expensive) was completely worth the price. They prepared us amazing breakfast and lunch and sent it with another Jeep so that it is fresh. We were taken on top of an Watchtower and while observing wild Rhinos had a delicious lunch. So obviously you are paying more for it, because it’s a 5* experience. The cultural Programm every evening was also amazing.

I'm sure the prices of the excursions at Barahi are higher than elsewhere but I actually thought our whole day jeep safari was very good value when shared with a few others and given the length of time we spent in the park and the quality of the service. Nothing.

• Perry (9/5): fun and luxurous - right on river nice separate houses for rooms evening entertainment was local and good from there you can book their jungle ride. thr jungle ride was fine, however sort of slow until we came upon e rhinos hogging the road.
• Tatum (9/5): Relaxing jungle resort on edge of national park - The resort is beautiful and thoughtfully put together. The rooms are spacious and clean. The resort and pool overlook the river and edge of the national park, so you can sometimes see animals. It is really peaceful as it is a secluded location and effort has been put into cultivating different varieties of plants/trees on the grounds - you can also see some wildlife in the resort. Food was fantastic and food prices were not unreasonable. Staff were wonderful and incredibly attentive. Activities were very expensive and the secluded nature of the property means you don’t have much choice. But as long as the additional money is going towards decent staff wages, then it’s understandable, as there are a lot of staff employed.

• Vesselka (8/5): Very good - Barahi Jungle Lodge is a very good hotel, peaceful and comfortable, with a good restaurant and kind staff. I would have rated it five stars, if it wasn't for the problem at our departure. Upon setting our bill we informed the staff that our luggage was to be moved to the reception/departure gate of the complex by 9am when our driver would come to pick us up, and we were assured that this would not be a problem. The gate was probably about 200-300 yards away from our cottage, and pathway, covered with gravel, so suitcases could not roll on it. Twenty minutes past 9 passed, and nobody showed up. We called the reception a couple of times to check about the cart, and were told both times that it was coming. It was important for us to leave on time, and our driver was waiting, so we grabbed our suitcase and headed towards the gate. Only then we were joined by the hotel's staff at half-way, offering hand help with the luggage with the explanation that something happened to the cart. It was a bit too late, a bit too little. Emergencies happen but proper communication is important, and the moving of the luggage by hand shouldn't have been initiated by us.

• Nicole (10/5): - The Barahi jungle Lodge is a beautiful place, I'd recommend it to anyone looking for a bit of luxury in Chitwan! A few highlights: -Their commitment to sustainability is exceptional. For example, most of the food is grown on site, and they've effectively done away with single use plastic - The service!! This is old school hospitality. Anything you need at all, someone is ready to help. They surprised us with a complimentary bush dinner one evening (such a cool experience, would recommend) because, as the general manager said, "we deserved it" My only suggestion for anyone travelling here is that you absolutely need to arrange for activities. While the hotel amenities are beautiful, you'll find yourself with little to do but relax by the pool unless you book a safari, yoga, the spa or a village visit. Do it all - it's well worth it!

We did a boat safari with sundowners and a full day jeep safari, seeing lots of wildlife including the one horn Asian rhino, plus we had a lovely bush dinner in a magical setting. Definitely one of the best hotels I have ever stayed at. Having to leave!

• Christina (9/5): Luxurious jungle adventure - It’s the perfect jungle adventure place in Chitwan. The fantastic staff created a wonderful itinerary for us and went above and beyond to create long lasting memories. The room was spacious and comfortable and food was always of great quality and taste.
• Hannah (8/5): Well worth it, but definitely costly. - The resort itself is very beautiful and the huts are very spacious and comfortable. Everything was clean and very well maintained. From the pool you can see the jungle, in the mornings you can see rhinos from there! We also visited the spa, the massage was very professional and good. The staff will go above and beyond to accommodate every wish you might have. They will ask you constantly whether they can book a safari or a jungle walk or a massage or anything else for you. On the one hand, you are thereby very well looked after. On the other hand, we felt a little pressured to book all our activities via them, which we did not want because the resort offers all activities at astronomical prices. The food and drinks are also very expensive, even compared to other higher priced hotels and resorts in Nepal. And lastly, the food was not the best. Breakfast buffet was only offered on our very last day, maybe because before that there weren't enough guests.

They helped us with different tours such as Taru village tour, elephant safari tour, arranged a cultural show night though we were only guests (as it was off season) thanks for everyone from the staff. Room facilities and everything is in high condition. Electricity was going off for some minutes very often and you should wait hot water to come in bathroom for some 5-10minutes, just take into account these, but these do not prevent you to have a good stay and enjoy.
• Fawaz (10/5): Exceptional - Amazing new resort, exceptional service, staff so friendly, kind, and helpful. They have lovely Jeep and river safari. We went off season (June) and because they had smaller numbers of guests the attention we received from the staff was amazing. They served us a la carte breakfast anytime we wanted. We bought both the river and jeep safari and they peovided us with an amazing free lunch in the jungle. I'm so glad that I took their Bharatpur airport transfer. They sent with us our concierge to drop us to the airport. On arrival there we learned that all flights are running more than 2 hours late. The concierge immediately spoke with airport officials and rebooked us with another flight that was about to depart, which was so helpful and we couldn't have done it without him Tours and activities are a bit costly, but are worth it..
• Grasielly (9/5): Amazing experience - The service was amazing, very nice and kind staff. the suite was the most beautiful I ever been, I definetly reccomend staying in the suite with private pool. Restaurant was also very good and the safari is totally worth it. There was a ferret living in the ceiling of our suite (one day he ate one banana). I mean we are in the middle of the jungle so it’s expected to have animals all around, just maybe not inside our room.
• Barton (10/5): Absolutely Stunning! - No need to search any longer, this place is amazing. My wife and 2 kids spent 2 nights, 3 days at the lodge in the 2 bedroom suite. We are experienced travelers and have high expectations for hotels. This place is absolutely amazing from start to finish. Honestly, we have never been so well taken care of, ever, in all of our travels! The minute we arrived, we were treated with delicious Lemonade (made from lemon grass and clean purified water) briefed on the property and amenities and were shown to our suite. We then went on a sunset canoe safari with our guide Jitu and enjoyed dinner on the bank of the river. The next day, we took a Jeep Safari tour for 1/2 day and then went on a village tour and had an elephant experience that our children (and us) will remember for the rest of our lives! It was a beautiful and amazing experience one on one with the elephant in the river. That evening, we were treated to a beautiful private dinner on the grounds of the lodge and loved the ambience and the food! The last thing day, we went on another Jeep safari, returned for lunch and back to Kathmandu on Buddha Air. We were sad to leave as we were treated like royalty the whole time! The staff are amazing and are there to serve as personal butlers to fulfill every need, want, etc. I am telling you, there is something special about this place and I would love to go back for 2 weeks! No need to search any longer, this group of lovely people have got you from start to finish and top to bottom. Oh and don’t forget to get a massage in the beautiful spa, another amazing experience. Nothing!
• Julie (9/5): One of the most romantic place I’ve ever seen! - Right in front of the National Park, this lodge is exceptional. The staff was always happy to help you whatever your needs. The spot was incredible by night with the lights. Great room with excellent white chocolate biscuits! Breakfast was not the best we had in Nepal. The activities very expansive (for example, we paid 125$ per person for a sunset canoe ride without dinner…)
• Karen (10/5): Exceptional - The remoteness of this lodge means you are more likely to encounter wildlife than in the more populated area of Sauraha. There were rhinoceros grazing each early morning in the river and the jeep safari brought us up close and personal. The guide is also extremely knowledgeable. This remoteness also gives you the calm, quiet and completely relaxing experience. The staff were absolutely exceptional, going well beyond the standard to make sure you have everything you need to make your stay the best it can possibly be. It is highly eco-sustainable, avoiding plastic wherever possible, the majority of staff are hired from the local community and they try to purchase as much food and services also from the local community. This investment helps reduce locals reliance on income sources that may be more harmful to the environment and wildlife. Is it expensive? When compared to other Nepalese accommodation and services, yes. Is it worth it though? Absolutely! Leaving!
