Despite being in the heart of a busy city, the street was surprisingly quiet, making it easy to relax. Transport to sites and restaurants was simple to arrange, and the pool was a welcome escape from the midday heat. The staff were warm and friendly, and the property felt especially well-suited for families easing into the vibrant energy of Sri Lanka. The bathroom is a bit dated but added to the charm and our younger child loved having a bath at the end of the day,

Přiletěli jsme ve 3 v noci, spali jsme tedy až do 12h, přesto jsme nečekaně dostali snídani, což bylo velmi milé. Nechyběly hry pro děti a piáno. Žádný hmyz na pokojích a co chybělo v čistotě, to dohnaly voňavé nadýchané ručníky a ložní prádlo.

- Bénédicte (8/5): Nous recommandons cet établissement - Le séjour était parfait malgré les problèmes liées au contexte environnemental au Moyen Orient. Nous avions essayés de contacter par message sur WhatsApp et sur booking pour le checking mais personne nous à répondu. Heureusement, il y a tout le temps du personnel sur place. Tout était parfait. le logement, l'emplacement, les équipements. Très propre, très jolie. Les hôtes se sont rendus disponible à chacune de nos questions et on pu nous fournir tout ce qui'l faut pour faire le repas et manger sur place. Ils ont pu organisé notre transport jusqu'à l'aéroport. Le seul bémol est le brut incessant de la ville, les chauffeurs klaxonnent énormément et pouvant être tôt le matin. Sur un autre logement au sein de Colombo aurait été pareil. L'autre bémol est la facilité d'échange en anglais et en cingalais. Nous avons pu dire des bonjour et merci en cingalais mais ils parlait uniquement anglais et très peu. Nous avons du échanger via le traducteur. En dehors de cela, rien n'a été désagréable. Et même ces deux bémols, nous on pas empêché de passer un très bon séjour chez ses hôtes.

- Kenneth (9/5): A comfortable room in a great location and wonderful staff. - The property is in a very good location near museums and restaurants, comfortable bed, very helpful staff, quiet location, pool was a plus. My wife and I were happy we didn’t pay for breakfast, though we did have breakfast for two days of our seven day stay. There are better breakfast places nearby. The showerhead was not functioning on the first day, but the staff did repair it but water does drain down to the floor. It would also be nice if they arranged the furniture nicely upstairs in the common area, to make it more inviting looking.

- Jane (9/5): Friendly bed and breakfast near National Museum - This is a small property located down a private road in beautiful Cinnamon Gardens, in easy walking distance to the National Museum and the Bawa House. The staff were friendly and helpful, our room was spacious and comfortable for a one-night stay - it even had mosquito nets as well as a plug in mozzie zapper - and we were given a splendid breakfast overlooking the garden the following morning. Our hosts had made good use of their space, with a pool and gym, board games, and places to relax. It also seemed very secure as one could enter the property only by ringing a bell on the street. We appreciated being able to arrange in advance to change our large denomination Sri Lankan currency notes to small ones, and also being able to leave our luggage for a few hours after check-out. Taxis found it difficult to find the property - if they missed the turnoff they had to go a long way round because of the one-way system. Noisy air conditioning unit in the room.

Umgebung war ruhig aber dafür war auch nicht viel fußläufig zu erreichen, aber mit Tuktuks kein Problem. Das Zimmer war groß und hatte alles was wir brauchten. Mückennetz könnte mal repariert werden aber hat trotzdem gereicht. Alles prima, würde beim nächsten Besuch wieder hierher kommen.

Staff was helpful and since we had night flight back we could use the facilities during the day and the pool. - CHRISTINE FRANCES (9/5): Very pleasant stay - We had a very pleasant stay at Colombo Villa, which was the perfect place to begin our journey around Sri Lanka. We stayed for one night after arriving, and it couldn’t have been a better introduction to the city. The hotel is located in a calm and peaceful area, yet still within easy walking distance of key sights such as the Lotus Tower (from afar), Seema Malaka Temple (the Floating Temple), Gangaramaya Temple, and restaurants. Our room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable, and the pool was a real highlight - a great place to relax and unwind after travel. Breakfast was very good, with a nice selection to suit different tastes. Overall, this hotel offers a great combination of comfort, location, and tranquility. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it to anyone starting (or ending) a Sri Lanka itinerary in Colombo.

The small, friendly team were extremely helpful, and were happy to look out our excess luggage while we traveled as well as to facilitate a very late checkout before our midnight flight out. - Chloe (7/5): Satisfactory accommodation with lovely pool and attentive staff - Lovely to have a pool in the middle of a city, and towels provided. Staff exceptionally attentive. Sri Lankan breakfast was ordered in especially for us rather than English breakfast, so much appreciated. Mosquito nets were useful too. Comfy beds and nice sized bathroom. Things look tired and like they needed a good deep clean/refresh to bring up to date (toilet roll holder fell apart when using the toilet paper).

- Jordan (10/5): Great and cozy family run guesthouse - Great and cozy family run guesthouse. Great location in Colombo. The pool was perfect for our family. Room was well sized and had everything we needed. Breakfast is especially recommended - very tasty and generous portions.

- Jaini (9/5): Comfortable and quiet stay - Spacious family room so did not feel cramped. Large bathroom. Hot water in shower. Clean rooms. Friendly manager and helpful and efficient staff member working in hotel. Quiet accommodation in a side road so away from noise of main road. We were able to use the shower room by the pool to refresh after check out as we had a late night flight. Only stayed 1 night in Colombo before our flight. Did not use pool or have meals at the villa. Mattress a bit softer compared to other places but still had a good sleep. The drain in the shower room by pool is outside of the shower cubicle so the bathroom floor gets wet. Take care when leaving the shower.

- Rod (10/5): Exceptional - The hotel is in a quiet cul-de-sac in the centre of the Cinnamon Gardens district. Our room was stylish, spacious and comfortable and the staff very friendly and helpful. We chose to eat out and there are some good restaurants within a few minutes walk. A very relaxing place to stay in Colombo.
- Jan (6/5): Ik ga er niet meer heen - Dichtbij Lionel Wendt theater Don’t speak English, they did not give what I ordered. I paid for family room downstairs. After arguing I got it. Cockroach and other beetles. Bad smell of bathroom. Poep in de wcpot.

- Anna (10/5): Exceptional - This place is basically in the centre of Colombo but also completely calm surrounded by a nice garden, with a pool and seating around. It is an old nice wooden villa with a lovely atmosphere. Also we had a wonderful breakfast and the manager of the villa is a great man at the right place. Organised for us all we needed for a very good price and kids just loved him. .

- Tanya (8/5): Classic Villa Stay - This is an older style villa but it’s very clean and tidy. Great location easy to walk around to sites like the National Museum, quiet neighborhood. Delicious breakfasts. Be prepared to organise most things yourself. The staff are very happy to guide you in the right direction but otherwise you’re on your own. Which is fine if you have been in Sri Lanka for a bit and know what to do.

- John (9/5): Beautiful villa by the beach where you are well looked after! - Great place - it really is the whole villa so very spacious. There is a lovely private swimming pool with deck chairs. Yasith and Soma were there to meet us on arrival and came every morning to cook breakfast and clean. One night Yasith organized an amazing BBQ - a nice change from going out to restaurants. There are 2 separate beaches only a few minutes' walk from the villa. The central living area (i.e. outside the 3 bedrooms) was not air conditioned so it was uncomfortable spending time there. However Yasith brought fans when we mentioned the problem and I understand they will be installing AC shortly.

We booked two rooms (family of 6), one room was a beautiful suite and then other was a nice spacious triple room The hotel is full of class, they have some board games and a Foosball table Good breakfast and very nice staff My main issue with the hotel was that I wanted to go out late on Saturday night but they have a lockdown and this was not possible The price is a bit expensive, this was especially apparent when we asked to do laundry and even though they gave us a discount it came up expensive

Would definitely recommend this place, right at the centre of Colombo. The last couple of days the WiFi was completely down... but except for that fabulous place.

- Ann (9/5): Great, peaceful location in Colombo - Quiet location. Great pool. Lovely owner and staff who recommended local restaurants. Nice breakfast. Comfortable beds. Safe area to walk around. 5 mins to supermarket and 2 nice restaurants (Maharaja Palace) and cafe on 5th. ATM right next door. Took taxi from airport at 5pm and it took 40 minutes The only thing is that it's a bit quiet at night. Although there are communal areas they are very close to bedrooms so we felt we had to be quiet.
- Bradley (10/5): Exceptional - Great value property and the host is very friendly and happy to help. The rooms are large and the property feels really safe and secluded. The small pool was great to cool off after a hot day. Breakfast was large, varied and delicious. The property is older and had its quirks, but we loved it's character, the staff and the host.
