Guest Reviews
- Sheryl (10/5): -
- Stephanie (7/5): Average hotel in a great location. - Excellent location, very central. Very basic breakfast and average room.
Overall quite pricey compared to our other hotels on this holiday.
- T (6/5): Good location but very disappointing cold buffet breakfast, not even "continental" - Good location The hotel was advertised as "breakfast included" but it turned out that this was only a small buffet breakfast. They said it was a "continental breakfast" but this was not the case as in this case there should have been cheese and cold meats but it was just cereal, and pastries.
- Mick (7/5): -
- Trevor (8/5): - Die Lage, Service und das Personal war top.
Sehr sauber.
Tauben Problem.
- Luba (9/5): Excellent - Clean and modern N/a
- Ulrich (6/5): - Zentrale Lage und hoteleigener Parkplatz. Kein Aufzug und Ausstattung etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Muffig riechendes Zimmer mit schiefen Böden.
- Jeremy (2/5): -
- Michael (8/5): Excellent location for our visit, but without a lift and food our visit was not as it should have been. - Excellent for its age, adjacent to where we needed to be. Stayed in an obvious newly created room, on the top floor, knowing that they didn’t have a lift.I asked for a room on a low floor as I have some breathing problems. Three flights of stairs were a bit much. No lift, no food facilities on the Sunday that we stayed.
- Anne (4/5): - The location The mattress was hard and very lumpy. The room was freezing cold, with a strong draught coming through the windows.
- Michael (10/5): - Position in Truro and parking included Nothing
- Paula (10/5): Lovely hotel, great location, - Location
Simple breakfast
Parking Avl at no charge Luke warm coffee at breakfast - they have taken away the single pots they used to serve to tables which contained fresh, hot coffee. Now you self serve out of those large flasks and the coffee does not stay warm.
- Philip Leslie (9/5): A great place to stay in the centre of Truro. We stopped for two nights with friends and the hotel and staff made it co - Location ,small boutique
- Roderick (7/5): -
- Colin (8/5): - Comfy bed Lots of stairs

- Edwards (10/5): - Lovely hotel, great location, excellent value
- lorrainefn (9/5): Great place to stay - Very clean, the bed was really comfortable.
Wide choice for breakfast, staff really friendly and helpful.
Ideal for visiting the Hall for Cornwall, so close to the theatre.
Fire alarm went off, staff well organised, soon sorted.
Close to city centre, was able to park in very secure carpark and walk around city. There was nothing to dislike about our stay
- Neal (9/5): Excellent location and large clean and comfortable room. - Large comfortable and clean room.
Excellent location.
Car parking free.
- Trenwith (8/5): Very Comfortable City Centre Hotel - Very comfortable hotel, friendly staff, nice bar and restaurant. In the centre of Truro, perfect to visiting the Hall for Cornwall. Secure gated parking.
- Lorna (8/5): Individual, comfortable convenient and a lovely experience overall. - Hotel is beautiful, individual and provided every expected comfort for our stay. The staff were obliging and helpful. It is right in the centre of Truro, so it is very convenient and with parking included it was ideal for out trip and visiting the sites in Cornwall. I would have preferred if the cooked breakfast was included rather than just the continental option. We paid for the extra cooked breakfast and it was completely lovely, huge big selling point.
- Nigel (8/5): Conveniently located and value for money. - Continental breakfast was good The shower curtain could have been placed to give more space whilst having a shower.
- Nic (10/5): - Secure parking in the centre of Truro. Just across the road from the theatre. Spacious room. Friendly staff. Perfect!
- Deborah (9/5): Would book again - Central location. Parking from 12 noon. Lovely, helpful staff. Dinner and breakfast good
- GEORGIOS (4/5): - "The hotel does not have an elevator. I sent an emai,5days before my arrival,l and requested that the room not be above the 1st floor. I did not receive a reply, and when I arrived they gave me a room on the 3rd floor. In the description, it said the room was 18 sqm with a king-size bed. The room was 10–12 sqm with a queen-size bed.

- Julie (10/5): - Manning hotel was right in the town , we got upgraded to an apartment, which was lovley , carpark was gated so felt safe, the breakfast had such a great choice, with an upgrade to hot if wanted ,will defo stay hear agian . Nothing
- Michele (8/5): Beautiful building.in the heart of Truro - Very friendly staff. Comfortable room and bed. Water in the reception was welcome. Perfect location for Hall for Cornwall for my trip to see RSC Hamlet.
A beautiful building. The pigeons on the windowsill woke me up!
No lift but it's a listed building so not allowed.
I had 3 staircases to climb with my case and I am 72! I would request a lower floor room if I returned.
- Adrian (8/5): -
- Alison (9/5): - The staff were amazing, very friendly and helpful. They came across like they were truly looking after you. It was a bit noisy at times but that was guests not the hotel.
- Kim (10/5): I would recommend this hotel , the rooms and restaurant was very nice - Great location and very nice inside and the staff where very friendly and very helpful
- Karen (9/5): Great location for attending nearby theatre. Staff very friendly and room was good for the price we paid. - Great location. Very clean. Good parking. Might be very warm in summer without air conditioning.
- Trevor (9/5): Great traditional hotel in ideal location - Ideal location with secure parking Bathroom a bit tired with very low pressure in shower
- Sarah (4/5): Great location, but quality of room and breakfast needs improvement. - Location in central Truro and the car parking. Clean apartment and great power shower. The quality was not as expected. Toilet roll was thin, duvet was very thin. Also a sign in the room said that we had a small welcome package of tea coffee, milk and towels and bed linen! A welcome package of towels and bed linen?! Isn’t that what a hotel provides?! The apartment was clean but basic. The continental breakfast was terrible, one of the worst we have ever had. Cheap bread, under cooked croissants and the coffee tasted as if it had been sitting there for 2 hours. There was a sign that said ham and cheese were available and we asked for some. The waiter came over with a slice of cheese (type you buy in a packet and add to a burger) and one slice of ham! She said that she was only bringing out one slice at a time to keep it fresh. We left and went to cafe Nero. Expected so much more for the price!
- Fiona (4/5): -
- Stephen (8/5): Good one night hotel - Every thing was available for breakfast Nothing
- Susan (8/5): Lovely stay in centre of Truro but pity about restaurant/bar opening times - Location and cleanliness Restaurant not open on the Sunday and Monday we were there
- Robert (8/5): -
- Alaine (8/5): A lovely hotel and perfect location for the theatre - Lovely hotel, clean and the staff were very friendly .
- Pauline Anderson OBE (10/5): Great value. - Lovely staff. No lift but offered to carry cases.
- Clare Roberts (9/5): Perfect location to discover Truro - Very friendly and helpful staff.
Great food Nothing
- Kellie (10/5): - Very patient and concerned when my son had a bad episode with his mental health during his stay.
This was greatly appreciated
- Nicola (8/5): - Clean, breakfast good Nothing
- Darren (9/5): -
- Mashika (7/5): -
- Jose (10/5): -
- Marianna (7/5): It was satisfactory - Great central.location
Good continental breafast, great choice of fruit
Lovely staff
Great value for money The room was quite small, and toilet far too close to the wall. The mirror in the bathroom was starmgely angled, and coildn't get it straight. Only good for people under 5'5". It was okay for one night.
- Tim (8/5): - Central location in Truro, secure parking was a big plus for our bikes. Friendly staff, and the continental breakfast was good.
- Oosthuizen (9/5): Lovely place to stay will definitely stay again . Friendly staff only to eager to please and amazing breakfast . - Really beautiful and calm . Perfect location . The bed was very soft where people sat on the edge of it and the portable fan was dusty . Everything else was great .
- Negoescu (10/5): - friendly staff, very close to amenities. We liked the breakfast hours and options.
- Sharon (10/5): -
- Andra-Stefania (10/5): - It is a great location, literally in town centre, close to everything. The property itself is clean, rooms are modern and comfortable. Staff were incredibly nice and helpful.
- Paula (9/5): Always a pleaseurable stay. - I have stayed at Mannings many times booking either one of their apartments or a room. Location is perfect, easy access from the train station in fact an easy 10-15 minute walk down hill which is a nice stretch of the legs after a train ride. Rooms sometimes a bit dated BUT all in all the hotel is clean, rooms are well laid out, comfortable, bathrooms clean, breakfast is great although one or two changes have been made since my last visit. Plenty parking available. Staff helpful and friendly - located in the centre of town with easy access to everything. Breakfast - they have changed the coffee layout. Coffee is now available from a large urn - from my experience these urns do not keep the coffee hot. The coffee is now luke warm and not as great as when served in an individual pot at your table. Who likes cold coffee - no one. I also noticed that although the breakfast spread is great the ham and cheese options have been removed which are great as part of a continental breakfast.
In my apartment the blanket on the bed was old and looked like it had not been washed ever!!! Was surprised housekeeping did'nt just remove it. Pound land / pound stretcher / Dune Elm have inexpensive replacements - :)
- Anto7312 (9/5): -
- Clair (7/5): Great hotel, would stay again possibly in an appartment away from the street. - Great hotel in a perfect location for town centre shopping etc, Staff were very friendly and very helpful and all needs and requirement’s were more than met. Guests were arguing through the night, Seagulls were very noisy so had a very restless sleepiness night.
- Tim37 (7/5): - Location is great At 0500 a freezer lorry parked right underneath our window and stayed there for 30 minutes with everything running. The hotel is only single glazed as it is probably listed.
- Cliff (8/5): -
- Issy (10/5): -
- Phil (6/5): -
- Jenny (9/5): -
- Kirsty (7/5): Great Central location - Perfect city centre location woth parking included. Very friendly and polite staff. Bathroom tiles around Bath had some mould and as our room near the back, you could hear the kitchen extraction unit a lot.
- Massimo (9/5): -
- Marina (6/5): -
- Rod (7/5): Pleasant and comfortable - Ideal location, good price, quirky building with different levels, cosy room. Shame the bar was closed (Sunday), no hand-wash in bathroom, limited hospitality tray, quality of some of the breakfast ingredients could have been better.
- Arnold (8/5): I had a perfect short stay enjoying every minute of it. - Excellent location with secure parking. Traditional hotel beautifully presented with modern facilities. I think it would benefit from a top class restaurant and bar, but to be honest space is at a premium and what exists is fine.
- Jeff (8/5): 8/10 due to lavkonjunktur of protein for breakfast - Parking 10/10 and staff very piloter and helpful No ham or cheese for breakfast
- Mark (7/5): Ideal town centre hotel but maybe explore other places for dinner. - Friendly staff, ideal town centre location, comfortable room and great car parking included. An old building with plenty of character and kept really clean. In fairness we only stayed one night so we can only comment on this one occasion of having an early evening dining experience. The two meals we had were ok but not enjoyable enough to want to go back. The staff were really great but the food served in the restaurant was a little disappointing compared to other places we’ve eaten similar menu choices at which was a shame really as the venue looked nice and we were looking forward to giving it a try.
- anita (9/5): - Sehr freundliches Personal, liebevoll hergerichtet es Frühstück, perfekte Lage, nettes Zimmer!
- Nigel (8/5): -
- Tony (8/5): We had an excellent stay and would stay if we were to return. We were exceptionally pleased with the - Clean. The location was excellent and so were the car parking facilities. The housekeeping staff were really helpful and so were the reception staff. Just the stairs. It is not suitable for anyone who is not mobile as there is no lift, as it is a listed building.
- Deb (8/5): -
- Tracey (8/5): Lovely stay - We love staying at Mannings, fantastic location for everything, with their own locked carpark. Breakfast staff were very rushed and brisk, not as pleasant as the rest of the staff.
Bathroom floor needed a good clean.
- Janet (10/5): - Perfect location. Really central to shops, cafe and Hall for Cornwall. Very friendly staff. Early morning wake up call by the Seagulls.
- Ken (10/5): -
- Kimberley (8/5): - The apartment was spacious, clean and had everything you needed. In a great location and parking was a bonus. We didnt use the facilities so feel like I cant comment on that. Also we could hear every movement made by the people that were staying above us. They were early wakers so it was noticeable then.
- Colin (7/5): Hotel bedroom had shortcomings but hotel was well situated - Town centre location was very good, particularly as it had a private car park. Rooms were very dated Bedrooms and bathrooms were very dated and in need of refurbishment and lacked many basics, ie no bottled water, no tissues, only tiny bottles of soap, no shower cap. Bathroom needed attention to grouting. Bedroom had a dusty feel due no doubt to carpet and furnishings. Room was spacious.
- james (9/5): Everything worked out really well for our stay and will be booking again soon Thank you Mannings - First - Able to use private car parking space on arrival
Room, good size, had all we needed for our nights stay/ booked meal in Mannings Restaurant,
Really appreciated the early meal menu before going to the theatre across the road
- Marion (8/5): -
- Christine (8/5): - Clean ,in town centre, bar and restaurant
- John (10/5): -
- Claire (6/5): Reasonable - Private parking, large bed, large room , location Bit dated
Breakfast lacked fruit options
No soap/ gel didn’t like the small bottle of gel ?
- Dominic (10/5): -
- Brian (10/5): Fantastic weekend away for a football game staff very polite nothing was too much trouble for them - Breakfast was fantastic,
Location of hotel is perfect to get round the city
Staff were friendly and answered all questions we asked.
Staff very knowledgeable about the area and pointed out places to see and do. We were on the third floor with no lift
All our party struggled with the stairs
- ian (6/5): Ok, but could do better - Good location, clean and comfortable No mixer tap for shower. Poor continental breakfast included in price with additional price to pay for a cooked option. Continental breakfast lacked any meats or cheese so very carb and sugar heavy. Coffee ran out so in my limited time available only had one coffee
- Carol (9/5): Great location. Helpful staff - Helpful staff
Location
Parking View from bedroom
- Philip (6/5): Excellent location in the heart of Truro - Location parking staff Lack of supplies in room, rectified by reception. Mattress too firm, would benefit from a memory foam topper.
- louisa (8/5): - Bed was comfy, had a great night's sleep The continental breakfast was very poor, not a great selection
- Angela (10/5): -
- Jill (10/5): A fantastic stay with great staff, in an ideal location with parking. - We booked one of the apartments (stayed in one a long time ago) and we weren’t disappointed. There was plenty of room with seating and a kitchen area, which was far more relaxing than sitting in a bedroom when we returned. We went to a couple of shows at the theatre so we were in a perfect situation for that. Plenty of restaurants, all within walking distance. We were spoilt for choice. Gated parking is a total bonus. Nothing, although it was a bit disappointing to see that the cheese and ham no longer appears to be included with the continental breakfast (a minor issue and no doubt one way to cut back in this day and age).
- John (8/5): -
- John (6/5): - Staff very polite and helpful. Paid for breakfast, on arrival told had to pay more for cooked, only continental. Room next to vent.
- Matt (10/5): Brilliant - Good location in the centre of town Nothing
- Rob (8/5): - Comfortable room and bed
Staff friendly and helpful
Continental breakfast was fine Nothing
- Sarah (8/5): - Location was perfect and parking was excellent. Staff were helpful and they let us check in an hour early as our room was ready. Bathroom was beautiful and bed very comfortable. Room was right up in the attic with a tiny window you couldn’t look out of which was a shame. Getting a table at breakfast wasn’t easy as the hotel was very busy!
- Julia (9/5): Centrally located with popular restaurant - Decent sized room with large comfy bed.Had dinner in the restaurant which was very busy, food was good, pre theatre menu mains include a drink. The continental breakfast had a wide range of cereals, and fruits, croissants were delicious Our 1st floor room at the back didn’t have much of a view, unless you count herring gulls
