- Jerome (9/5): -
- Susanna (10/5): Quite, peaceful and full of wonder and kindness - Breakfast was fantastic.
The space and place was so beautiful, quiet and full of wonder. Nothing. It was exactly what we wanted
- Milen0106 (9/5): -
- Melissa (10/5): -
- Kerry (10/5): A wonderful garden and pool with fabulous food. - This is a beautiful old Ksar in the middle of the countryside with an exquisite garden and pool.
We were on a self drive holiday, aiming to end up for the last few days in Marrakesh. On reading riad reviews they all talked of lack of privacy, safety and value for money. We booked Ksar Salha for one night as it’s 30 minutes from Marrakesh while we decided what to do. It took us about 10 minutes after we arrived to decide to stay there for our last 3 nights and drive into Marrakesh as we needed. (An easy drive with good parking right by Jemma el F’na).
This maison d’hotes is really wonderful. The house is glorious. The garden is lush and full of birds and butterflies. You can see the snow capped Atlas Mountains from the rooms. It really is a blissful place to stay. We opted to eat in every night and had absolutely delicious meals. The best briwates in the world; and the chicken with lemon was sublime.
Compared to riads in Marrakesh the value for money was amazing. And we got to experience all the hustle and bustle we needed and then retreat to (I hate to use this phrase but…) an oasis of calm and luxury.
The couple who own it were helpful with recommendations, and attentive, but also left us to just enjoy our surroundings.
I think this is now one of my favourite hotels ever. Everything
- Cédric (10/5): -
- Danielle (8/5): - The hospitality was very considered and a wonderful relaxing ambience. The food was cooked with love and all our needs were adapted to. The set menu was ideal for a couple of days but if longer, we would have felt it restrictive-given we were vegetarian and also wanting a little.more variety.
- Robert (10/5): Beautiful place for peace and quiet - Amazing Building beautiful gardens excellent food. Can’t think of anything
- Tarek (10/5): Fatiha and Sherif were wonderful hosts and the property was amazing!! - The property and grounds were absolutely beautiful and the family running it were so helpful and hospitable, we would definitely recommend and come back!!
- pascal (9/5): -
- james (10/5): We would definately revisit - Beautiful family run walled property around 30 minutes outside Marrakech. Excellent hosts and facilities who helped organise anything we needed.
- EmEngland45 (8/5): -
- Sharpe (8/5): Just delightful - Our stay was super relaxing and the staff were lovely . The food was great we loved the property and would be happy to return.
Our room would have benefited from a mirror over the table in the bedroom and it would have been good to be able to make a hot drink in the bedroom. Not applicable
Finn&Yves Alles perfekt
- Esha Ziea (1/5): The high prices do not reflect the standard or quality of service. We do not recommend this hotel. - Disappointing experience at Hotel Ksar Salha – False handicap claims and poor service
I stayed for seven days at Hotel Ksar Salha in Marrakech with my friend, who uses a wheelchair. My friend specifically chose this hotel because it is listed as being accessible for people with disabilities.
I regret having to write this review, as I am self-employed and work with clients, but precisely because of that, it is important to highlight the lack of customer care and service.
Having visited Morocco over 25 times, I have never experienced such a poorly run hotel with such appalling service.
Regarding the disability facilities, there were numerous shortcomings, and if my friend had travelled alone, she would not have been able to navigate the hotel at all. Not even the toilets were wheelchair accessible.
On a positive note, I can mention the attractive rooms, lovely gardens, and a beautiful swimming pool (which, regrettably, was also not wheelchair accessible).
Everything else was utterly unacceptable — confusing, unclear descriptions, and poor communication. The hotel only offered one menu that was served throughout the day. There was a set price for lunch and the same price for dinner, but we had to pay extra in the evening. The portions served were small, and the food was overpriced considering the quality and service.
There was no cleaning or vacuuming of our rooms. We had to request staff to clean, and when we did, they did so sporadically. We had to ask every day for the rooms to be cleaned. Additionally, no bed linen was changed during the seven days we stayed.
We booked the hotel including breakfast, but the breakfast was very dull; however, when we complained, it was improved quite significantly.
Charging 3,000 MAD/DIRHAMS per day for such a poor hotel, including breakfast in Marrakech is simply too much. The high prices do not reflect the standard or quality of service.
We did not experience any of the warm and authentic Moroccan hospitality that one would
- Kolbrun (8/5): -
- Yanita (10/5): Realxing oasis - Beautiful family run oasis. Quiet, peaceful and comfortable. Our room and terrace were large which was a welcomed change after so many tiny Riad rooms. Comfortable bed and bedding. Home cooked food. Hammam on property! Staff happily arranged anything we needed! It is a about a 35min ride into Marrakech so jut know that ahead of time. they arranged a great driver who took us both ways.
- Gift (10/5): - We had the most amazing 7 night stay at Ksar Salha! This is a 9th century castle, located about 25mins drive from marrakech. The property is so well maintained, clean, quiet, and equipped with all the modern amenities you would need. It sits on a beautiful, well maintained garden equipped with a heated pool, gym, various seating areas that allow the guests to enjoy the space without intruding upon each other, and it's own hammam! The castle is a family hierloom that's been passed down the generations and is currently run by the charming Sharif and his wonderful wife. To say they care for their guests is an understatement. You get the sort of individualised care and attention you'd normally only receive at high-end hotels in big cities. Sharif and his wife were always at hand to help, but never intrusive. They facilitated all our travel and took care of all our dinning needs to a high standard. There were brilliant small touches too, for example leaving an umbrella outside our door when it was raining, without us asking. We were celebrating a birthday, and they plucked fresh red and white roses from their garden and decorated our room. Plus, the hammam massage is simply amazing. I really can't recommend Ksar Salha enough, and will certainly be back for another visit.
- Alan (10/5): Great Riad - Lonely Riad. Great food. Lovely host and staff. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Very quiet and relaxing. Room was lovely with fantastic balcony with views to the Atlas Mountains. Nice heated pool. The weather! Rained 🌧
- Loes de Bot (9/5): -
- Chris Walshe (10/5): Ksar Salha, a true palace - An absolute Oasis, we loved the calm atmosphere and the hospitality of the family and staff. We were welcomed into a grand and beautiful family home and garden. We were able to swim every day as the pool was heated to 24 degrees. The views of the snow capped Atlas Mountains from our room terrace were breathtaking both af sunrise snd sunset. Unlike many riads Ksar Salha serve the famous Casablanca beer as well as table wines. The home cooked food was excellent and we ate in the same dining room and felt like honoured guests. There was an extensive menu to choose from, all freshly prepared for each meal. Fatia gave us cooking lessons in her kitchen, we made our own evening meal and 4 different types of breakfast breads, what a treat! In the colder evenings a roaring cedar log fire was lit in the salon.
Fatia arranged for us to be driven to, and picked up from the authentic local Souk, held on a Sunday, a totally different experience from the Marakech Medina.
Fatia and her family and the team of staff have created a wonderful relaxing environment.
Thank you all
XXX Leaving, to return home!
- MYRIAM (10/5): - Tout était parfait ! Rien.
Nik
- Günther (10/5): Entspannung mit guter Küc
he - Sehr schöne Anlage. Beste Essen in Marokko. Perfekter Abschluss einer Rundreise. Gute Anbindung an Flughafen.
Besonderer Tipp in der Nähe: Paradis du safran
- Lesley (9/5): Enjoyed our stay in a beautiful traditional Morrocan hotel. - Beautiful hotel, run by a lovely family. We had a beautiful room with a huge balcony overlooking the garden. Pool was lovely, everywhere was spotlessly clean. Only thing was the meat in our meals was full of bones, and small portions.
- Joost (10/5): - Perfect accommodation outside of Marrakesh. The staff is very polite and are willing to help you where possible. If you are looking for a very calm and relaxed environment this is the place!
- Frank (8/5): Great host, who took good care of all their guests. - I liked the peace and quiet. It was isolated and that was what I was looking for. Everything was perfect
- Andersen (9/5): -
- Gunnar (9/5): -
- Matthias (10/5): -
- Aman (10/5): -
- François (9/5): Fantatische locatie en accomodatie, lieve en behulpzame mensen, heel persoonlijk, echt genoten. -
- Audrey (10/5): - This place was magical! Highly recommend as a place of rest and relaxation. Located a bit outside of Marrakech but it is worth the drive. Some of my favorite experiences in Morocco
- Adam (10/5): - Excellent stay. Would highly recommend
- Rebecca (10/5): Exceptional - Such a wonderful stay in a beautiful, peaceful place. The staff were lovely and food delicious.
- Andersen (10/5): Beautiful and tranquil. - The location was a quiet area outside of Marrakech and was lovely and tranquil. The staff were lovely and accommodating with everything we asked. We appreciated the service and helpfulness a lot. There was limited menu options for dinner, however, it was possible to ask for food not on there which the kitchen happily made. I can highly recommend their cooking.
- Vedran (10/5): Peaceful and beautiful oasis near Marrakech - We had an exciting week in Morroco, and for the last 3 days, we wanted to relax somewhere close enough to Marakesh, but far from the crowd and noise. This place was stunning, with its royal garden and more facilities than we expected (tennis court, ...). The house itself and supporting objects have lots of history and details, combining smoothly ancient with modern times. We loved it.
- Ellen (9/5): Gorgeous Grounds with limited rooms - would be perfect for a stay for those seeking privacy / peace - Large Pool with sun loungers and fantastic outdoor area with ample seating / plants. Spacious rooms that are beautifully decorated.
- Jacqueline (10/5): Absolutely lovely, my second visit - It’s serenity, the location, the efficient way it’s run, the welcoming, delightful owners. Will definitely return again, this was my second visit. Highly recommend Nothing, loved it all
- Navreet (10/5): Exceptional - Peaceful, attentive but not intrusive staff. Lovely home cooked meals. The only gripe, if any was perhaps a little more variety on the food available would have been nice. But whatever we had was cooked beautifully.
- Rory (4/5): This hotel has its charms but also major drawbacks - This hotel has its charms but also major drawbacks.
Positives:
Host Fatiha is incredibly responsive, which was especially helpful with our young child - she even arranged a taxi with a car seat. The Atlas Mountain views are stunning, and the hotel grounds are beautiful, featuring peacocks and tortoises. The traditional architecture adds to its charm. If you’re looking for a quiet, immersive Moroccan family experience with little distraction, this could be the perfect escape.
Negatives:
The food was disappointing. Given that bringing outside food is prohibited and there are no nearby restaurants or shops, the limited menu quickly became repetitive. The cocktails were tasteless and overpriced, and the meals were far from Michelin-worthy, often overcooked and dominated by a single flavour. The Bastila, for example, had tough chicken and an overwhelming amount of cinnamon.
Service was lacking; we were never proactively offered drinks, towels, or even room cleaning - we had to ask for everything, which made us feel like a burden. The gym was virtually non-existent, the rooms needed a deep clean (we even found a cockroach in our bed), and the pool area had an unpleasant smell due to the animals.
We stayed during a quiet period, which may have influenced our experience, but overall, we were disappointed and left a night early. While Fatiha and her husband apologised, the compensation offered was minimal.
- Natasha (9/5): We were well looked after and the property is really beautiful. - Stunning. Pretty. Beautifully decorated.
Lovely garden and swimming pool.
The atmosphere is very relaxed.
Delicious local food. Tennis court good but no tennis balls
- Herman (9/5): Wonderful experience - Beautiful 800 years old Ksar, very tastefully renovated into a wonderful boutique hotel. The family running Ksar Salha is lovely and the make every effort to ensure you will enjoy your stay. The lemon chicken Tajine is the best you will ever be served. It is unfortunately about 40 minutes out of Marrakesh, but the view of the Atlas mountains and the lush gardens make you forget about that very quickly.
- Oliver (10/5): An absolute haven - A beautiful house about 30 minutes outside Marrakech. An absolute haven! Thoroughly recommended for those looking to relax. We loved the large bedroom, and the amazing large roof terrace with the view of the Atlas mountains - what a view to wake up to! Stunning gardens, lovely large heated pool and the food was delicious! Oh and the hosts couldn't have been more charming and helpful, thank you! What more can we say, book this place! We absolutely loved everything - maybe a coffee machine/coffee making facilities in the bedroom would be a nice addition for those who like their morning coffee before seeing anyone
- Traberg (10/5): A great hotel with amazing staff, but the location and travel costs could be drawbacks for some. - The hotel was beautiful and spotless. The room was huge with stunning Atlas Mountain views, a massive balcony, and an extra-large bed. Freshly prepared food daily, and I loved the pancakes for breakfast. Overall, a great stay! The hotel was great, but there were a few downsides. The bed mattress was quite firm, which caused some back issues for my partner, though this is personal preference. The food was delicious, but nuts are used in many dishes, so something to keep in mind. The location is quite far from Marrakesh, and while transfers are available, they cost around €50 round trip. Renting a car could be an option, but the local driving style and road conditions made me hesitant about risking the deposit. That said, the hotel itself was fantastic, and the staff were amazing.
- Robert (10/5): Wonderful genuine Moroccan experience - We stayed at Ksar Salha for a week and so glad we did. It is a lovely oasis with wonderful views of the Atlas Mountains. The house and grounds are beautiful. Huge rooms with the largest beds we have ever slept in. The bird song in the garden and by the lovely pool are delightful. It is a place of peace and tranquility worth every penny to experience. You will have a truly wonderful Moroccan holiday with the best hospitality from the amazing Fatiha, her lovely family and staff. Home cooked food with a selection of wines are available and if there is anything you need Fatiha will try her best to get it. There is a lovely Hammam with various massages you can book as well as trips to the Mountains or Marrakesh. It is a drive away from the city. But that is a positive not a negative as you will understand after a day there! Nothing
- Paul (10/5): The perfect accommodation midway between Marrakesh and the Atlas Mountains. - Incredible place. It is a beautiful riad - dates from the 9th century but with every convenience you could hope for. The bedroom is spacious and the bed itself was massive and comfortable. Bathroom with shower (always running hot water) and a very large bath.
A balcony gives views of gardens and the majestic Atlas Mountains in the background.
Exquisite interior design. Dining room was so colourful, just beautiful. So many different places to relax and read or listen to music.
The gardens are wonderful - hidden places to sit and relax, gym and a heated swimming pool.
Pictures will not do it justice. No complaints at all.
- Thomas (10/5): Exceptional - Stunning ancient mansion house which really knows how to look after its guests.
- Justyn (9/5): Superb -
- Jacques (10/5): Hospitality, family and staff, garden, piscina, room. All excellent. - Everything
- Khalid (10/5): Majestic and Excellent! - Fantastic
Superb
Majestic
Everything was top notch: rooms, food, facilities like spa, pool, hamam, the garden (wow!), service, always helpful,
the staff very kind and helpful, namely Sherif and Fatiha
a palace, a paradise, and Marrakech centre just 20min ride away, the Atlas Mountain right in front of you, fantastic view, if I could give 6 stars, I would give 6 stars for this Castle of Tranquility and Luxury! nothing to complain.
- Horace (10/5): Hidden gem,Had the most amazing home cooked meals here. - Beautiful property, family owned and maintained. Very caring people the food is amazing and is unmatched. If you need rest and relaxation this is the place to rent
- Adeel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Tom (10/5): Exceptional -
- Lucie (10/5): Exceptional -
- Joanna (9/5): The perfect oasis an escape away from the busyness of central Marrakech. - We absolutely loved our stay at Ksar Salha. The host and their family were so lovely and incredibly accommodating. It was the perfect escape after the busyness of central Marrakesh.
We loved having a surprise at every meal, the hamman experience was great as was the massage.
The pool and tennis court were fantastic as was our bedroom, lots of space and a huge bed. We tried to use the gym but it wasn’t in a great condition.
- Boom (9/5): Superb -
- Jacqueline (10/5): Managed by a wonderful family, gracious and kind. A sublime place, so tranquil. I felt rejuvenated when I left. Woould a - Beautifully maintained, fabulous pool, big! Beautiful gardens, quiet location. Perfect Nothing
- Nicole (6/5): Pleasant - Gorgeous grounds and pool m, lovely room Expensive, needed to ask for room turnovers, quiet
- Christoph (6/5): Nice and relaxing property, but discuss prices first before using the services. - It’s a beautiful object with a big green garden, a swimming pool, tennis court and other activities you can do. The area is quite calm and you can relax due to it. The interior is very beautiful. The food has very little portions for the price it has. Sure it tastes good, but it’s little. Also, the owner wanted 300 mad from us for the cab service to Marrakech. We were kinda surprised about the price, we answered that 200 maximum, to what she agreed immediately. When we were in the cab, she called us and told us that the calculation was wrong and that we actually ordered the evening before 2x the lemon chicken tajine and that we have to pay around 200 mad for that additional portion.
Firstly, if this portion we got was 2x, then it’s sad to see that the owner tried to rip us off. Additionally the thing with the cab confirms that even more.
Secondly, calling guests leaving the property and stressing about some wrong calculation and saying in the end it’s a gift for us: to the madame owner.. not all people are dumb and I would highly recommend to treat people with respect, because this really decreased the enjoyment we had with the stay and unfortunately we won’t return.
- Juliet (10/5): Can’t wait to visit again. A gem, paradise on earth. - This is a beautiful tranquil oasis. A 16th century palace which is now a welcoming family home. Absolutely nothing to not like
- Berg (10/5): Amazing place with great hospotality: Lovely people, delicious food, sports & relaxation. - Beautifal place, great hospitality. Lovely people & nature, delicious food & spacious room & terrace.
We definately enjoyed doing sports (tennis & swimming) and the privacy after dynamics of Marrakesch.
We recommend this place for people who are looking for quality time, food & relaxation.
- Prognimak (9/5): Superb - This is a very secluded place, because of it it's very quiet and you can enjoy a lot of stars at night.
Rooms were spacious and comfortable with a big terrace. We ordered dinner and had the best chicken tagine. We also ordered a hammam experience. The only thing about this place that I can list under negative section would be the road to get there. It's outside of Marrakech and the road is not of the great quality but it has nothing to do with the property itself.
- Felix (10/5): Recommended for a chilled location close to Marrakech - It’s a peaceful green paradise close to the chaos of Marrakech. The food is all organic and home cooked everyday. It’s easy to take a driver from the property to the city or local trips. Lovely family running the place also, I thoroughly enjoyed this unique experience
- Anonymous (9/5): Worthy - The hosts
- Maggie (10/5): All that we hoped for - peace and quiet - Quiet and peaceful, sitting in the gardens, wonderful pool area - with the most gorgeous dragon flies
Lovely welcoming family/hosts and staff, who could not do enough for you.
Traditional Moroccan food.
No problems booking trips. We visited Marrakesh and the Anima Garden. We would have visited the Atlas mountains had it not been for the recent earthquake.
The evening visit at Prayer Time from the Peacock!
We came for relaxation after a busy year and were well rewarded Nothing
- kermarec (8/5): A recommander - Tres agreable patrons charmants petit dejeuner superbe tres grande chambre
- Audrey (10/5): Great ! - Everything ! From the pool to the staff. Maybe a bit far from the city.
- Denis (9/5): Lovely, remote and enjoyable place to relax - Generous breakfast, quiet and pretty place, kindness and availability of owners/team. Perfect for young families
- Simon (10/5): Absolutely stunning hotel and gardens - Beautiful decor throughout the hotel. Large room with great balcony and comfortable bed (rare in Morocco). The pool and gardens are a peaceful oasis of beauty. The host was really friendly and helpful, and the food was the best of all the hotels we stayed in on our 11 day tour in Morocco. Nothing at all - I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.
- Shabnam (10/5): The perfect stay! Amazing place, food and staff! - the property is a hidden gem located away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The property inside and out is stunning with so many unique features. It has beautiful gardens, with a small gym area, tennis court, football facilities and lots of relaxation areas near and away from the pool. I struggle with heat sometimes so it was nice to have a space to go to when needing shade as well as being able to chill near the pool in the heat. The staff are so amazing and can’t do enough! the food is amazing too! I can’t even express how peaceful and amazing our trip was and we cannot wait to go back!
- Lisa (10/5): Exceptional - Everything about Ksar Salha was perfect, a little haven of peace and tranquility! Nothing
- mohamed ali (10/5): - Sejour parfait un véritable trésor
- Ashfaq (10/5): Exceptional - The place was absolutely stunning. Really well kept grounds beautiful time and peacocks just roaming around. This is a family run property. They are very friendly and helpful. The location of the property is in the middle of nowhere so no shops or anything near by. Also the food provided is very expensive. It was good quality but far too expensive for what you get. And there aren't any restaurants near by to buy from.
- Margherita (10/5): Exceptional - Everything was perfect, the place is located just 30min outside of Marrakech. Has an amazing atmosphere, extremely peaceful, which is so refreshing if you want to take a break from the chaos of the Medina. Wonderful structure, delicious food with self-produced ingredients. The room is spacious and comfortable, the view is great, the garden has everything you may possibly need, even an open-air gym and the pool was the icing on the cake.
Fatiha was definitely the best part, with her hospitality and helpfulness.
Would love to come back one day We loved everything
- Rhonda (10/5): I highly recommend this riad. it’s a little far from the center but that’s exactly what we like - Everything! the owner went above and beyond what I expected. The room was spacious and extremely clean. The bed was more than comfortable nothing. it was perfect
- Natalie (10/5): wonderful - attentive hosts and great food - peaceful and great hosts nothing
- Azim (10/5): Beautiful oasis! - Much thought has been put into this place. The design is immense. Little haven away from sweltering Marrakech but close enough
- Nicolas (8/5): Beautiful guest house with stunning grounds in the tranquil countryside near the Atlas Mountains. Welcoming hosts. Perfe - Beautiful guest house in the countryside, surrounded by stunning grounds. Our son enjoyed being able to play basketball and tennis. The owners are very welcoming, responsive and accommodating. They arranged transfer for us to and from the property with a reliable friendly driver. We booked Hammam and massage, which was a great experience, one of the highlights of our stay in Morocco. The food was homegrown, homemade and delicious. We also had a day trip from the property. All this was arranged through the owners who have excellent communication. Despite the weather, you can see that the views from the terrace over the Atlas Mountains must be stunning on a clear day. We enjoyed our stay and the respite of being in a tranquil setting away from the city bustle after a couple of days in the Medina. The bedroom was spacious and had a large terrace which must be very enjoyable on a warm sunny day. Unfortunately, the weather during our stay meant it was cold outside. We were hoping to be able to use the swimming pool still but it was not open. That was disappointing as we thought it was heated throughout the year and it was one of the reasons we booked this stay. However, we enjoyed the beautiful gardens and the other facilities like the tennis court. The beds were too hard for our liking but ok for a couple of nights. The shower lacks pressure. All in all excellent value for money.
- Eilidh (10/5): a peaceful place with friendly staff. a great way to relax after travelling around Morocco. thanks for having us in your - beautiful views, amazing swimming pool and delicious dinners we meant to just book a taxi to visit the surrounding area for a walk, but we ended up getting a driver for the day. this was possibly our miscommunication though.
- Natalja (10/5): This is a top-quality Guest House. Absolutely Lovely, Great Pool Great Food Great Hosts. - This is a Top-End Guest House, not an all-inclusive faceless 4 or 5-star Hotel. Fatiha and her family run the business. They are friendly, and helpful in all respects. It is like staying as guests in their home, which in fact is exactly what you are doing. Breakfast was great, Traditional Morrocan as a default if you want eggs or something else just ask. Nothing is too much trouble. Do not expect bacon though this is a Moslem country. Limited choice but all are freshly prepared to your taste. Wonderful bread and crepes. Set in an olive/orange grove the gardens are spacious with a 20m heated pool and sun loungers for everyone. Places to find shade and places to get the sun. Bed and breakfast is included. Lunch and dinner are not. However - the kitchen can provide you with the most wonderfully authentic food you can imagine. Delicious tagines of fish, meat, or vegetable. Freshly baked bread and local beers and wines. Best of all you do not have to fight for your food at a buffet bar. It is a little off the beaten track but Fatiha will organize for you a taxi to take you wherever you want to go. Medina is about 30 mins drive. You can pay the driver or include it in your bill. All in all a great place to relax. Nothing
- Laura (10/5): Exceptional - After some busy days in marrakesch we enjoyed this quiet place in nature so much! Lovely hosts, wonderful garden, nice Pool and opportunities to play Tennis and get a Massage! We enjoyed this place so much.
