No complaints for the price. I think a full length mirror is needed in the rooms though just for outfit checks for events and things. Also needed like 20x more of those little milks. XD

- Dale (6/5): Railway Station Hostel - Great location, right next to Spark Arena, Supermarket handy nearby. Walkable distance to Auckland city downtown hub, trendy boutiques and Saturday morning markets. Helpful, friendly concierge. Overpriced for a room, and was a bit noisey as it faced the back of Spark, and its' bar. I realise it is a heritage building, ..but no lounge area, or balconies . Just empty, vacant ,spaces.

- Aaron (9/5): Good historic hotel in Central Auckland - The apartment is very spacious and offers ample space while also being up to date with anything you might need. The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating and the hotel is also centrally located so its a close walk to train and busses stations. Overall, its definitely worth the price given the beautiful building and the nice rooms. Outside of the hotel its a little sketchy as there are lots of bars nearby and some homeless people sleeping in the park in front of the hotel.
- Jan (8/5): Short stay in Auckland - Good location for accessing Auckland waterfront and CBD. The old concourse is rather beautiful, especially the floor tiles. Room clean and good shower. Bed ok for 1 or 2 nights. Rooms lacked natural light due to one small window only at the far end of a long room. The old railway station has been converted to mainly student accommodation with some short stay tourist rooms.

- Caimei (9/5): - It's great value for money, and the parking fee charge was reasonable. The place itself is historical and charming in the lobby/hall way area. There are 2 huge kitchens you can cook your meals. The room is basic but enough for a night before taking the flight home.

Curtain didn't cover the window all the way so a tiny bit of outside light shining in. Nothing too bothersome.

Not always open. NOISY!!! 1st night of 3 couldnt sleep a wink until after 3:30. Doors slamming, trolleys getting pulled out of the lift. 4:30-5:00 then the trains started..By the 3rd night no slamming doors...only the train to contend with, which I didn't really mind.

Wet paint on door which transferred to hands, shower head could not handle water pressure meaning you couldn’t get full heat. I think it was just our room though, as previous stays had been better. Hair dryer had rubber reversion so was sticky when using it - needs replacing.

Die Unterkunft verfügt über eigene Waschmaschinen und Trockner, mit denen man sehr günstig waschen kann. Durch den Flair der alten Bahnhofshalle hat die Unterkunft etwas Besonderes. Da wohl mehrere Familien in dem Komplex wohnen und es sehr hellhörig ist war es abends teilweise sehr laut (tobende Kinder teils stundenlang auf dem Gang). Allerdings war nach 22 Uhr dann auch Ruhe

- Liecile (10/5): Most comfortable stay - I love the quirky building with lots of character and history in it. The facilities were great. Close to shops and very central. The room was clean, beds comfortable, has air conditioning/ heat pump so we had an amazing sleep with the right room temperature. The room was big and had good storage so plenty of space for our luggages. Noise from the train tracks outside and people making noises outside the room can be easily heard and kids were running and banging doors next door. However, not a big issue for us not to stay again.

Good laudry facilities. Good security for entry and exit. Unfortunately the bed was not comfortable, The Mattress sagged in the middle and was very soft. It needed to be replaced. Smells from the central kitchen area permeated the whole building and we found them unpleasant. Fortunately it did not enter the bedroom. Exterior windows needed cleaning.

- Daniel (7/5): Ok for one night - The hotel is conveniently located close to the city center, which makes it a good base for exploring the area. It was clean and generally well-maintained, so no complaints in terms of hygiene. However, the rooms are situated in what appears to be an old train station building, which gives the place a rather unusual atmosphere. The walk to the rooms feels a bit creepy, especially at night, and the layout adds to a slightly unsettling vibe. It also seems like some people may be living in the building permanently, which creates a somewhat strange and mixed impression of the place. Overall, it’s fine for a one-night stay, but for a longer visit, the odd atmosphere might make it less comfortable.

Llegamos y no había nadie en la recepción y un ocupante del edificio debió llamar por teléfono al conserje para que podamos acceder a nuestro apartamento, limpio pero muy modesto. No califica de ninguna manera para 4 estrellas.

The station, Auckland Strand, for the Northern Explorer KiwiRail long distance train is minutes away on foot It's situated in the old Central Station in all its faded glory. Location is good, close to Parnell, Spark Arena, Britomart, and the city Center. Wifi was good and usable. The property had a very strong and unpleasant smell of food, as there is an Indian restaurant in the lobby. The facility seems to also be used as temporary housing for some socially disadvantaged folks in Auckland (I felt safe as a man by myself). The was a lot of noise coming from the residents of property, but noise from the street was negligible. Laundry facilities were useable but in need of a heavy cleaning and equipment upgrades.

It’s in a quieter area, but still within easy reach of a couple of great neighborhoods to explore. I had a private room, which was very spacious for the price and had plenty of storage. Overall, the accommodations are clean and basic. They cover all the essentials. It’s a comfortable and affordable option, especially considering how much space you get compared to a typical hotel room. The building itself, a converted old train station, is a really cool concept, though the layout and interior design weren’t quite what I expected. While the space was large, it also felt a bit eerie at times. It seemed to be a mix of hostels and apartments, with many families staying there. While I didn’t use the common kitchen, I heard it wasn’t always the cleanest.

- Sarah (7/5): Central location, clean & comfortable - Great location! Very clean and comfortable rooms. There was a delay in checking in, no one was at reception when we arrived so we left and came back over an hour later and there was still no one there.
