- X6102ENkatem (10/5): Fantastic Family Holiday - We stayed at Avani+ for a week at the end of March 2026 with our whole family – three generations – and honestly, it was such a great experience. From the moment we arrived, the staff were amazing and couldn’t do enough for us.
We picked the hotel mainly for its location since my parents can’t walk too far, and it turned out to be perfect – loads of restaurants and the night market nearby. What made it even better was the free transport the hotel offered to and from places, which was a huge help when my parents got tired.
Asri was brilliant with restaurant recommendations, and all the staff were super helpful in organising trips and activities for us.
Breakfast was great too – loads of choice with a mix of à la carte, buffet, and live cooking station, so there was something for everyone.
Laos exceeded our expectations – we’d absolutely love to go back someday and wouldn’t hesitate to stay with Avani +

- B9514HImaries (10/5): Perfection - Beautiful hotel in an amazing location . But what makes it truly special is the staff . Everyone from the friendly , thoughtful and wonderful Khan and Mick in breakfast to the courteous and kind security and the wonderful reception team. Thank you for a truly wonderful stay
- Arthur (10/5): -
- Katrin (10/5): Nice peaceful oasis in the middle of the town - Wonderful oasis in the middle of the city. Very close to the attractions in the city and the market. Clean, quiet, the staff was really helpful and attentive. Good choices for breakfast Everything was fine

- Bjc1951 (10/5): The perfect hotel to experience Luang Prabang - I did a lot of research prior to our trip on hotels and activities. The Avani was a great choice for both. The rooms were spacious and functional. The staff went above and beyond throughout our trip. We went on their sunset cruise which was fantastic. The boat was great and again the service was wonderful. We also used a hotel car and driver to take us to the falls. He suggested we leave Daytona beat the crowds and he was right! We got to experience the beautiful falls with only a few other guests. By the time we left it was overwhelmed with tour groups. The drive and van were great.
- keno_km (2/5): I will not stay at this hotel again. - 1. On the second day of my stay, I discovered animal droppings in the room. Concerned that it might be rodent feces, I was unable to sleep all night. The hotel claimed this was a normal situation and took no action, which I find completely unacceptable.
2. The slippers provided by the hotel showed clear signs of prior use. For a hotel charging nearly 2000 RMB per night, failing to provide a new pair of slippers is incomprehensible.
3. As a member staying on my birthday, since the booking was made through a third party, I received no greeting, no birthday wishes, and certainly no discount. However, promotional content on social media clearly states that members can enjoy a 22% discount, with no mention of third-party booking exceptions. This is very misleading.
- Mike62MB (10/5): Right in the middle of it all - We had three wonderful nights here at the end of our time in Laos. The first impression was the train pick up and the vehicle screams quality along with the service as they provide fresh juice’s, water and local snacks to try as they transfer you to the hotel.
The rooms are spacious and comfortable with plenty of hanging room and drawer space, we had booked a suite, which also has an outdoor area with a pair of loungers, a table for outdoor dining along with an L shape sofa
Breakfast was good with a decent selection along with freshly made hot and cold offerings and speciality teas and coffees.
The staff were all amazing, very polite, helpful and professional, one lady at reception was particularly helpful on evening as the Rosewood had forgot to send their car to collect us and she chased them up without asking.
They also have two golf buggies that they will drop you off at town centre restaurants, bars and tourist spots if you need.
Pool as other have said was very nice and during our stay remarkably quiet, huge fluffy towels are provided as is table service.
They even organised some chairs and a table for alma giving one morning and a member of staff acted as a guide and photographer
- Barbsharp (10/5): Charming and comfortable! - My husband and I stayed at the Luang Prabang Avani for four nights. The room was attractive, had a balcony with comfortable chairs and the bed and pillows were very amenable to a good night's sleep. The breakfast was delicious, with Lao and western options. The buffet was so good we never ordered off the menu. The pool was so refreshing and long that we could do long laps. Finally, the staff were very kind and helpful and recommended and made reservations at great restaurants. Location was central and even though on Main Street, it was very quiet inside. Else will miss the charming city of Luang Prabang and the Avani!
- Masanan (7/5): -
- Karen (10/5): Love the location and property! The staff are wonderful and very helpful. - I stayed at the property before and it is definitely my go to place in Luang Prabang. Location, grounds, and property are serene and easy for walking everywhere. Nothing!
- Marcin (10/5): -
- simon (10/5): Fabulous room, excellent food and the staff couldn’t do enough for you. Highly recommended. - 5 star in all aspects.
- wedorion (10/5): Great stay, wonderful staff - Fantastic stay. The hotel is in a great location, directly opposite the Night Market and walkable to all the main sights.
Rooms are beautifully furnished and spacious.
I had a gua sha facial at the spa and Ms Noi looked after me wonderfully. The treatment was so gentle and relaxing I actually fell asleep during it!
My package included a complimentary sunset cruise, which was stunning. The host on the boat (apologies, I can’t recall his name) was attentive and very helpful.
The breakfast was tasty and plentiful, and had both buffet and à la carte options. My only (minor) criticism would be that I would have liked more Laotian/Asian options rather than European type foods.
All of the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. I’d particularly like to highlight Ms Pantavanh in Reservations, who went above and beyond when my booked dates changed on several occasions. Ms Sunny on Reception was also a great source of help and information.
- SunscreenAl (10/5): Exceptional hotel in a chaotic place - Comfortable rooms with modern mattresses, excellent A/C that doesn't blow on your head, great employees, immaculate gym, high speed WiFi. Great hotel for the price.
- Mitchell (9/5): -
- phuawt (10/5): Physical Oasis, Service Par Excellence - Local Loatian travel agent's error resulted in a Four hour delay in our train back to Vientiane. The Super Late check out to 5PM for THREE rooms sets a high bar for GoodWill!!!
- ceciliaaZ4437EA (10/5): Excellent! - The Avani is perfectly located in the centre of Luang Prabang which is so convenient. The aesthetic is minimal and clean. Lovely and efficient staff who organised our dinner reservations and trip to the waterfall. Delicious breakfasts!
- Steff_my (10/5): Great location with caring staff - Had a 2 nights 3 days visit and stayed at this lovely hotel in the city centre, well located and accessible to the key highlights of the area. The centre of the hotel is like a little oasis with the nice pool and garden area. We enjoyed the facilities.
- Connector36605564749 (10/5): Fantastic Holidays in Luang Prabang - Fantastic holidays from start to finish. Excellent welcome and seamless service from airport pickup until departure. The hotel is perfectly located, with a great atmosphere and a team always ready to help, especially for restaurant reservations and activity bookings.
Special recommendation for the Mekong cruise to visit the Pak Ou caves and enjoy a beautiful sunset on the way back. We really enjoyed our trip and hope to comeback again.
- Schuybroek (4/5): - I had to cancel at the last moment but my wife was able to travel. The suite although calm was looking towards a wall and could not be changed.
My wife was twice denied to have dinner at the restaurant because the restaurant has been privatized for groups. In room dining was the only solution offered.
Not really what you expect from this type of hotel.
- Kim-Brian37 (10/5): Perfect Comfortable Stay, Great Location - My husband and I experienced such a lovely stay during our time in Luang Prabang!! The service was top notch! Our driver, Por picked us up from the airport and we had the pleasure of having him during our waterfall excursion and again at the end of our stay.
Great walkable location to everything and there’s always shuttle service if you’d prefer. We felt very safe the entire time and the stray dogs we came across during our morning runs were all docile.
All of the receptionists were extremely friendly and welcoming. Nina did a wonderful job assisting us with our many requests and spoke perfect English. Grace and Lena also did a great job assisting during our stay.
Our room was spacious and kept very tidy. The beds were definitely very firm but pillows nice and comfortable. Our favorite part was the large balcony (room 236).
The gym was very nice and had clean functional equipment. I just wish it opened much earlier than 7am as I am someone who routinely works out at 5am.
Restaurant on site was very good and service was excellent.
Highly recommend the sunset dinner and/or canapé! My husband loved it so much we went every night!
- foltzer (10/5): Séjour exceptionnel à tous points de vue - Un séjour absolument parfait. Le service était impeccable, la chambre très confortable et le petit-déjeuner excellent. Nous avons tout adoré. Un grand merci pour l’accueil ! Rien
- tienn343 (10/5): Amazing hotel in Luang Prabang - We stayed 4 nights at Avani+ hotel in Luang Prabang. The hotel is in the best location of this UNESCO town, walking distance to great restaurants and historic sites. This hotel is beautiful and high quality with nice and clean room. All staffs are super nice, went beyond their duties for taking care all of our needs!! Special thanks to Ms Tingling, Ms Sunny, Ms Ajoun, Ms Asri, Mr Baht and Ms Por for their hospitalities, accommodations, great recommendations and arrangements for restaurants/food and every little details for this memorial trip, also great service from breakfast team and special thanks to Mr Jiayia and Mr. Khan. We loved the buggy rides the hotel provided, a transportation to close by places. A well-deserved 5 Stars hotel. Hope we will see you next time.
- Emma (8/5): - Breakfast, fitness center, location, staff. Nothing
- noppawanameiam (10/5): Almost Perfect Stay – Would Love to Return - Everything was perfect — the room, the breakfast, and the overall atmosphere were wonderful. Although we encountered an issue that caused some discomfort during the transfer back to the airport, the hotel listened carefully, handled the situation professionally, and resolved it with appropriate compensation. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would definitely love to return again.
- David (8/5): -
- 814derynh (10/5): Great hotel - We stayed at this hotel for two nights in room 110. What pleasure this hotel is. The room was super, the bed very comfortable with great amenities like a separate shower and toilet, great toiletries. We only had breakfast at the hotel as dinner was pre-arranged for us elsewhere but the breakfasts were brilliant, with lots of choice. Would definitely stay again.
- Nicole (10/5): Great location and accommodation, staff great, would stay again - Breakfast was excellent, staff all friendly, welcoming, did a great job. Location, one of main reasons we chose the hotel, was excellent, Literally beside the 'night market' with great food options and very short walk to riverside.
Room attractive, comfortable and clean. Would stay again. Spa prices too high, in line with hotel groups pricing rather than local alternative options.
Sun beds, beside the pool, have to be continually moved if you wish to lie in the sun, possibly an issue to do with time of year, December, but think tree growth would always create that issue. pool cold at that time of year but refreshing once you got in!
- Guest (10/5): WE loved the friendliness of the staff . It made our stay really memorable - Loved the breakfast. We chose to sit on the street so we could watch the vibrant activity in Luang Prabang. It was perfect!
- T3882YCsuzannep (10/5): A wow of a hotel - Amazing hotel in a great location. Very warm welcome from their staff when you arrive and throughout our stay. Hospitality was beyond fabulous
- jessicatabachnik3 (4/5): Cute but not very comfortable. - This hotel is cute. But it has a lot of things that don’t work.
The bed is super soft and very uncomfortable.
The night stands don’t have a connection to connect things next to you .
The AC is not very good we tried different rooms and none of them were cold. And some of them smell real bad as well as the spa .
The truth is I don’t recommend to come to Laos at all we cut it short because there is nothing to do . It’s also very dirty.
- Dariusz3 (9/5): - The best value of the hotel is the staff, with Tingling the most engaged person to help us in different issues. Many thanks
Dariusz
- pineleaf2 (10/5): Amazing! - As a family of 4 adults we loved this hotel. The service and condition of the hotel are outstanding. We thought the food at the hotel was excellent and better than what we had outside the hotel. The excursions we booked were excellent - trip to cave, trip to waterfall, historic city tour and a sunset cruise. We really enjoyed the morning as giving. We would highly recommend this hotel. A huge thank you to the entire staff and Bot and Lily, in particular. The entire experience was just perfect (honestly!) and we cannot wait to return.
- kanddmiller2025 (10/5): Great location and superb rooms - Super hotel on the edge of the night market that is quiet and clean . Close enough to all the sites in luang prabang , but equally Could easily just spend the day relaxing by yhe pool sipping a cocktail . Excellent bar and grill in site
- vernice27 (10/5): Great stay! - I recently stayed at the Avani Luang Prabang, and it was an exceptional experience from the very start! The staff were brilliant - warm, caring and always ready to assist with genuine friendliness (really wish I had made a list of their names). My room was was spacious and beautifully laid out with a private terraced area.
The breakfast was a mix of buffet and ala Carte items - all very fresh and delicious. The location is perfect- close to the town and it’s buzz, but at the same time peaceful enough to enjoy just relaxing by the pool or in the room.
Overall Avani Luang Prabang exceeded my expectations- and I can highly recommend it to anyone visiting this charming city (with a village feel).
I just have to add - one of the highlights from my entire holiday was being able to participate in a Almsgiving (Tak Bat) which the hotel made possible.
- Plamen (2/5): - The check-in was ok I have no complaints. The room is ok, it's small but. Everything is quite old. It's obvious that the hotel is very tired. In my toilet water was leaking from the ceiling they tried to fix it but I had to move to another room. The bed was not a king size bed but two very small beds joined together. Of course you can't sleep in the middle of the bed. The breakfast didn't even match a two star hotel. And you have claims and especially prices for five stars. Absolute discrepancy between what is offered and its price.
- DavidG897 (10/5): Pleasantly above expectations - The warm staff welcome typified a friendly and helpful attitude from the team, most of whom had reasonable English
Granted that we had above average accommodation, but we liked the contemporary feel. It was comfortable with good clothes storage and good A/C
- michaelpD6436ZU (10/5): Good food, and fair prices - Perfect and very nice staff very helpful. Quick tjek in and out. Have a good trip arranged by the hotel, the driver was kindly asked what we else wanted to see
- 168shelleys (10/5): Top spot - This was a glorious place to stay though the staff were the most special thing. For breakfast one day there was an amazing local noodles dish and when I requested it for the next day, it appeared.
Everyone was lovely and efficient though Sunny on reception was extra amazing. She always smiled, advised, arranged, helped, taught me new Laos words, printed some documents faster than I could in the office and made our stay at Avani+ that extra bit wonderful. She is a star!

- jocketi (10/5): Charming yet luxurious hotel in perfect location - I definitely recommend staying here when in Luang Prabang. Quite a unique historical property; a calm oasis in the heart of the town, super close to the night market. Very luxurious with extremely friendly service. They also have a great restaurant and a coffee shop. Basically outstanding. You pay a bit more but in this case 100% worth it!
- 21Rolf (10/5): Fantastic experience, exceeded our expectations - We've just enjoyed 3 beautiful days here. The hotel is fantastically presented with attentive, welcoming staff and has a great location in the centre of Luang Prabang, opposite the vibrant night market and just a few 100 meters into town. Strongly recommend the Sunset Cruise and the Anantara Spa...the best facial we've ever had. Clearly a passionate GM leading a great team. Well done!
- Takumi (9/5): Good - Best location NA

- sulfur16 (10/5): Superb staff and perfect location - We stayed two nights in preparation for a 4 day trip down the Mekong on their Gypsy boat. The hotel is in an ideal locarion to explore the wonderfully clean, quiet city of Luang Prabang. We opted for the half day city tour they arranged for us and it was perfect. Although we were still acclimating to the climate and 32 hours of travel time, it was just enough to give us a great feel for the town - including hiking up Phou Si! The hotel is ideally situated across the street from the night market which is a destination in and of itself. My husband spent both nights there for hours!
The dining was really nice. The breakfast is diverse - we opted to largely stay with Laos food and the soup was fantastic. The dinner was an experience - I ordered the special old-fashioned and it was a production with table side smoking of herbs in the glass. It was delicious. The staff everywhere were super friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay here again.
- emmahK7419TT (10/5): STAY HERE WHEN VISITING LUANG PRABANG!!!!!!! - What an incredible stay we had at Avani - I couldn’t rate a stay more highly if I tried. I’m not one to often post reviews but I just had to recount this amazing stay. The most beautiful and helpful staff I’ve ever come across in my life - Sunny and Mek absolutely made our holiday and we’re so grateful for their unbelievable level of service. The rooms were beautiful (we opted for a pool view), the food was delicious - and the POOL! There’s a reason it’s named Laos’ best. Such an amazing sleep every night on the sofest bed and pillows, the room was impeccably clean and the free use of the golf buggy, airport transfer and bikes was an added bonus. If you’re coming to Luang Prabang I would seriously recommend this stunning hotel.

- Mobile63501025559 (10/5): Great breakfast - We had breakfast at a lovely restaurant.
What made this breakfast so great was not just the delicious food, but the kindness of the person who served us.
Our waiter was Jia Yia, throughout the three days.
We were deeply touched by his thoughtfulness and kind words.
We hope to meet him again.
- TXfigment (10/5): Perfect location perfect room - We had an amazing stay. This hotel was perfect. The location was perfect. We were comfortable with 2 twin beds. The air conditioning was the best we had our entire trip. Breakfast was great. We had lao iced coffee most mornings.
- 418anjaw (10/5): Oasis in the middle of town - Beautiful and relaxing hotel. It was incredible hot and this place has made it so much better with the grand pool and lovely staff. Super attentive and caring. We would stay here again.
- granviajerodelmundo (10/5): Outstanding from start to finish! - The staff at the Avani definitely made this a memorable stay for our first time in Laos. Asri and Baht were both fantastic!
The location of the Avani cannot be beat. One of the only 5 star hotels that is within walking distance of everything there is to see and do in Luang Prabang. The night market is literally across the street. They also provide a golf-cart type shuttle to visit other areas of downtown.
The rooms were impeccably cleaned and refreshed multiple times a day. Although not huge, our room was comfortable and we enjoyed the patio.
We also booked a $100 day trip to the waterfalls through the hotel. We enjoyed the luxury van they used and Baht was very entertaining and provided great insight on the area. However, I would definitely skip the elephant park as we have learned it is not an ethical elephant sanctuary and mainly used for tourism.
All in all I cannot say enough about how wonderful our stay was! A memorable trip thanks in part to the friendly, service-oriented staff!
- tonynB7207JH (10/5): Eight nights was not enough - The entire team at Avani looked after us so magnificently from the moment we arrived to the moment we left. It’s is the perfect base in the middle of town next to the night market for launching into all the great activities. I can not name all the team members but thanks to Asri and front of house team, Mak, Yongyung, Kong and all the others at breakfast and in the bar. Great team supervised by Max and Ling at the top 🥰

- Jasbir (10/5): - After a month travelling across SouthEast Asia and staying in numerous 4 and 5 star hotels, this was the best. An excellent stay to conclude my vacation. The staff, facilities, food were of the highest standard. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Ideally located to allow you to work everywhere in Luang Prabang. Exceptional.
- nattapolc438 (10/5): The hotel is clean, has a great atmosphere, and is very quiet, making it perfect for relaxation." - Even though the hotel is conveniently located near top attractions like the Night Market, Mount Phousi, and the Luang Prabang National Museum, it maintains a tranquil and charming ambiance. Guests can even join the traditional alms giving ceremony right at the doorstep. The staff are incredibly attentive and offer outstanding service. I had a fantastic experience and will certainly be back.
- Sasipat (10/5): Five stars service, great location. Can call buggy anywhere - Great location, less than a minute to night walking street. Still, environment is quiet. You can call buggy everywhere in the city. Great staffs ; 5 stars service. Good choices of breakfast too There was a small incident where my parents room smelled like paint when we first checked in. So the staffs upgraded both of the rooms for us. So that was a great gesture. Apart from that, all is great.
- PhileasFogg92 (10/5): Top luxurious hotel near the old center of Luang Prabang - Amazing hotel, with very peaceful atmosphere, near the center of the town.
Very comfortable room
Excellent breakfast and restaurant for lunch and dinner, with delicious food and good wine
Nice bar with very good cocktails
Very kind staff
Highly recommended for a stay with incredible service in Luang Prabang

- 249deepakb (10/5): The best place to stay in Luang Prabang! - Avani plus has been such a wonderful place to stay for me and my wife. From the booking to the arrival process and the way the staff managed to help us throughout the stay. It’s a brilliant place from a location point of view and has some of the friendliest staff in the world!
- 836vikkit (10/5): Stunning hotel - Such a beautiful hotel. I would highly recommend staying here. The staff particularly Yang are all very accommodating and incredibly helpful should you need any help or recommendations on where to visit. Very central only a few minutes walk to the morning and night market. And lots of restaurants and bars close by. Breakfast was lovely but very limited on food
- Passport361591 (10/5): A wonderful introduction to Laos - We cannot speak highly enough of this hotel and its amazing staff. Perfect location to enjoy Luang Prabang but it was the help and attention of the wonderful staff that have made our stay most memorable. We enjoyed the sunset cruise package - a wonderful massage, trip in the Mekong and all the advice needed to arrange a perfect day trip. Thanks so much to the amazing team.
Sam and Patrick
- MannyJ (10/5): Good choice in LP - LP is chock full of cheap and cheerful accommodations for backpackers; at the other end of the spectrum, the Rosewood and Aman properties charge truly shocking amounts, especially given the low cost of labor. The Avani occupies a useful middle ground. Not cheap, but not outrageous, and good value given the location, solicitous service, and lovely courtyard with the pool. We were upgraded to one of the largest rooms, on the basis of GHA Discovery status, in the back of the hotel, which was quite nice. We didn't wind up making good use of the private garden area --- too hot in the daytime, too many mosquitoes at night --- but beautiful nonetheless. The only slight downside of the room was that noises carried from the hallway and from other rooms, above and next to us. Luckily our neighbors were not too noisy.
The excursion they arranged for us to the Kuang Si waterfalls by boat was excellent, almost certainly a better, more relaxing option than going by road. Location is right in the middle of the action. The only other option I might consider if I went back to LP is the "3 Nagas" located in the historic district, which we thought was the nicest part of the city; we also liked how they had renovated a historic building. But no regrets about choosing Avani.
- LPreview2025 (10/5): Best place to stay - In the center of all action - alms giving, night market, royal palace museum, shops & reataurants. Would stay again
- joeyducky332 (10/5): Very nice hotel in a very nice town. - Our stay at this hotel was very nice. It is very beautiful peaceful and we got great. sleep, very much needed. The rooms are clean, orderly and we were very thankful for a nice clean place to stay as we have stayed other places in town in the past. The value of what we got vs. what we paid is unsatisfactory. Although it was a nice hotel there was no refreshments or snacks included in the rooms and neither was their breakfast or dinner provided complementary from the hotel. although coffee was available and free in the rooms. Neither is there an airport shuttle, which can be very disheartening if you’re new to The country. There was also no ironing board or iron in the room. There’s also a Wat next-door and across the street so morning noise like chanting and drums can be heard at 4 to 6 AM. overall, we are happy with the attendance and hotel staff. They were very helpful and kind.
- David (1/5): Looks are very deceptive - It looks nicely decorated.
Staff pleasant. The receception tried to charge me double for the room wasting my time arguing with them.
The rooms are very small.
No milk or coffee mate in the rooms.
The food in the restaurant I.e wagu steak was horrible on 2 consecutive days.
The breakfast is below average with very little choice.
It's very expensive compared to other 5 star hotels.
- 443alexandrah (10/5): Best location and service in Luang Prabang - This Avani property is a jewel of a place since the moment you check in. Max, the manager makes sure no small detail is overlooked do guests have a ccs perfect stay. The hotel layout is charming, an old French officers headquarters with a central court and pool perfect for relaxing. The food was fantastic and the restaurant ambiance really nice! I tried the Laotian specialties and highly recommend.
- Chrisraina (10/5): - Everything from the property to staff was great! I mean the staff’s were really top notched!
- 461denir (10/5): Came to Laos as had visited Vietnam & Cambodia. Visited the waterfall, the bear & elephant sanctuaries, Hmong village - Close to airport, clean, very comfortable, well-appointed, directly opposite Night Markets and easy walking distance to temples, the Museum and pagodas. Good shopping area and good selection of cafes and bars nearby. Very obliging staff particularly in the restaurant.
- evelynsP1401YE (10/5): 4 well spent Days in Luang Prabang right in the middle of the UNESCO World Heritage Site. - A luxurious resort style hotel. Central, clean & comfortable
Reception staff very welcoming & helpful particularly the manager & Amber one of the female staff
We were happy & felt safe to eat daily at the restaurant where my numerous food allergies were well considered & catered for.
Night market with food & craft is literally across the street, very colourful & well attended. The hotel location couldn’t be better.
- catherineer2018 (10/5): Excellent well designed & perfectly located contemporary hotel in the heart of Luang Prabang. - Excellent well designed & perfectly located contemporary hotel in the heart of Luang Prabang. The warm and friendly staff organised a number of excellent activities to acquaint us with the local region. The Mekong River cruise at sunset and morning trip to the waterfall were amongst the highlights. Giving alms to the local monks at sunrise was another unexpected highlight. Onsite facilities also include an excellent spa, pool, gym, and restaurant. Highly recommend!
- pjslss (10/5): great experience - We stayed at the Avani+ Luang Prabang in March 2025. A beautiful hotel in a great location (right beside the night market). The staff was extremely helpful and kind (thank you Ms. Amber/FO and Mr. Laoleng/FO). The buffet breakfast was extensive and delicious, along with the restaurant/bar for dinner. We booked our transfers from the airport with Avani+ - it was excellent not to mention the luxury van we rode in! The people are all so sweet and friendly - we truly enjoyed our experience! We would definitely recommend this hotel and would not hesitate to return.
- Julie (9/5): Lovely hotel in central location - Very friendly and helpful staff.
Lovely pool area.
Great breakfast! Better pool drinks etc service.
No full length mirror in room.
Hair-dryer heavy and cumbersome and had to use over the sink at mirror.
- Marc (8/5): Very nice hotel0 - Very nice hotel at the night Market of Luanh Prabang. The first room had a problem with the ac so we got an upgrade. The hotel is well kept and very clean. Good breakfast with a lot the choose from the à la carte menu. We spend 3 very relaxing nights at the Avani
- CarolineBukMidlands (8/5): Really great ! - This hotel is absolutely lovely. The hotel building and grounds are splendid. The staff are all outstanding and so friendly, particularly in reception. The best thing was the hotel’s sunset cruise on the Mekong River. That was really wonderful. Probably the best experience of my 5 week trip around Asia!
I also went on a great day out/excursion with the hotel driver, (I think his name was But and he was so nice). This was brilliant. I thought I was just going to a waterfall, but I also got to feed elephants too, and go to a rice plantation!
Location of the hotel is great, and they have a golf cart to drive you around anywhere you need to go. Great night market just across the street. The only reasons I’m giving this 4/5 stars is because the swimming pool was freezing (I never actually managed to get fully in it, it’s that cold), and the room was rather noisy - you can hear everything in the hallways/doors banging etc.
And on 2 of my 7 days there, the hotel allowed non-hotel guests into the pool area. They were a really rowdy group of people too. The waiter in the restaurant in the evening said they wouldn’t be allowed in again, but why was this permitted in the first place? It didn’t feel like a relaxing 5 star experience being surrounded at the pool by very rowdy foreign ‘backpacker’ types. The other paying hotel guests looked equally as mystified about this.
Otherwise, everything else was absolutely wonderful. The meals and drinks in the bar and restaurant were also excellent. Great mini bar in the room too! It was my birthday while I was there and the hotel put a bottle of wine in the room, which was lovely of them, and well enjoyed!
I was very impressed with the hotels efforts at mosquito fumigation. Nobody wants to get bitten do they!
Overall a great stay, and would definitely recommend.
- Jackson (10/5): Great - This is a relatively new hotel and everything is well thought out and comfortable. The room was big and bright. The pool is enormous with plenty of seating around it. The location is very convenient for the town as it’s right on the doorstep. Breakfast was fabulous. The staff are helpful and polite. It has a great gym but unfortunately we didn’t have the time to use it. We loved everything about the property and would stay again. The tours and pick up/drop off to the airport/station are expensive.
- jojK6537CV (8/5): Perfect Luang Prabang - The Avani is an oasis in the centre of the beautiful town of Luang Prabang. It could not be better placed to visit this charming town with many good eating and drinking establishments.
- 897danielle (10/5): Enjoyable Stay - We had a very enjoyable 3 night trip here last week. Great central position right next to night market. Clean rooms. Friendly and helpful staff. Good gym. Huge pool but we had no time to use it! Hotel has complimentary buggy to drop you and pick you up locally. Complimentary bicycles also available.
- StephenmcauleyM (10/5): What a wonderful hotel - This hotel is perfectly positioned for everything in Luang Prabang. The hotel.was very relaxing with superb rooms, swimming pool and all the facilities needed. From the hotel it was easy to walk and it is right opposite the night market street and also the day market - both fantastic to visit. We loved the staff who all seemed genuinely excited to see us return and to serve our drinks, food and look after us. Great spot. Hope we get a chance to return soon.
- adambR4668KJ (10/5): Great service - We stayed three nights in this Avani hotel. Everything was perfect - the rooms, the staff at reception and the restaurant.
I particularly want to complement the reception staff. They were especially attentive and made us feel welcomed and cared four. Outstanding.
- irmahhunt (10/5): Amazing hotel great location great staff greet service - Just a wonderful stay great location amazing staff service is exceptional breakfast is the best we have had on our south east Asia tour . Golf buggy great took us to a few restaurants. The pool is lovely honestly would definitely book this hotel as we will be back it’s just 5 star
- Thomas (9/5): Superb -
- Stephanie (10/5): Central calm in Luang Prabang - The hotel is very centrally located yet serene inside and the room was well laid out with a nice balcony view to the hills. The staff were very friendly and kind - particular thanks to James (x2), Amber, Mone and Yang who were all very helpful making sure our stay was comfortable. They organised trips for us to the caves and waterfall as well as providing a complimentary buggy service to restaurants. The Mekong Sunset Cruise led by Asri was an absolute highlight and a must do. Last but not least, the breakfast quality and service was outstanding. It was quite expensive compared to the properties we stayed in Vietnam and Cambodia, but this is may be driven by Laos/Luang Prabang pricing for premium properties.
- Sheynaz (10/5): Great location. Spacious and comfortable. Family friendly - Large spacious hotel in central location. The night market is a step away from the hotel but you would never guess as the hotel retains a private and quiet air.
There is a central courtyard which contains the pool area, flanked by reception and the restaurant on two sides and the rooms on the other two sides.
Breakfast is varied and starts early which is convenient if you have an early tour.
The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Please use their sunset tour service. It was perfect and worth every cent. I would recommend you have a good camera on hand to take some fantastic sunset scenes. The rooms look on to the pool side. Privacy is maintained with exterior wooden shutters but some curtains would be helpful during the day to let light in and maintain privacy. To be fair, the windows are protected by individual patios.
- Meera (6/5): - Property has a very convenient location. Rooms are small. Staff is nice but English is not great . It is
expensive so you do not get good value for the high prices .
- oded (10/5): - Winning location
- Giovanna (6/5): Beautiful hotel in a beautiful city! - This was our "treat yourself" hotel and our expectations were higher in terms of the room itself. The "garden view" rooms are not really views of a garden, but rather a cement wall and rooftops with a couple trees planted. That said, the view of the mountains afar was pretty. The room was also far smaller than I expected for the price. We stayed in a lot of hotels during our trip and every room in 3/4 star hotels was larger and more comfortable. It just didn't feel worth the price in terms of the room.
However, the service was absolutely excellent and the rest of the hotel was beautiful. Every single person there went out of their way to make our experience beautiful. The grounds are pretty, the pool is great and the restaurant was delightful.
We did do a spa treatment and really enjoyed that experience as well, though I could tell my masseuse was sometimes on her phone. She'd all of the sudden stop and I'd later hear the small click - a pet peeve of mine. Still, it was overall really nice.
I'd definitely recommend if you have the budget! The room ended up being fine since we spent so little time in it, and it was made up for by the rest of the hotel and the staff.
Don't let them charge you the $30 to the airport - it's a ten minute ride and you can get there by taxi for $3.
