BarbaraCantwell (2/5): - The physical building seemed in good shape the room appeared at first glance to look good but then you noticed - no hangers in closets- light switches that didn’t work- bad stains on bedroom carpet. - not enough towels and had towels -no bathroom mat - only 1 bedside lamp worked

We were told to get a key out of a lock box, but the box was empty. The directions didn't indicate which garage to park in so we park in the wrong one the first time.

Verified traveler (2/5): - This lodging was most misleading it is a student dorm There was no one available to contact when I couldn’t enter the building when I finally made it inside 40 minutes later. I found a student dorm bed with old springs. The whole experience was a feeling of being misled and robbed. For about the same price I went up Wilshire stayed in a killer bed and polite surroundings. I’ll never return
Verified traveler (8/5): - The property was in a great location and in good condition. Check in was OK, but they didn't have someone onsite so they had to meet us there to give us the keys. When we tried to reach them to extend our stay the phone number voicemail was not connected and it took two hours to get a reply from the text we sent. By then we had made other arrangements.
Matthew (6/5): Strathmoor apartments - The area we picked was amazing and we didn’t even know it. As far as where we stayed I wish we’d have picked a regular hotel. One towel with no floor towels was annoying along with only body soap. In the booklet is states you provide all bathroom essentials. No extra blankets was annoying as well. Not to mention inside of the garbage disposal there was a needle and some other things stuck. (Maybe should have someone check that) and the bathroom shower glass doors were completely off track and not even held on by anything at the top. One morning when trying to exit the shower the door was lifted a litte to high and the whole metal bar came crashing to the floor and the glass doors went leaning outward. Thankfully I grabbed them and called my boyfriend to come help. Other than that the place was very spacious loved the balcony and hot tub just wish it was cleaner (not vacuumed,big clumps of women’s hair balls inside sheets and all over the house/shower and things worked properly and there were proper bathroom essentials

Samuel (4/5): Overpriced and not clean. - The Strathmore is an apartment complex. This is not a hotel room, but a small apartment rented out like a hotel room. There is no daily towel service or cleaning, no front desk/concierge, etc. No regular professional maintenance, either. Two of the light bulbs are dead (including the dining room), and the remote control on the cable doesn't work. There is hair all over the place (bathroom sink, all over the shower/tub, the floors, even in the bed). The towels are really crummy. Bring your own soap, too. I'm just here on business for three nights and I'm gone most of the day, but if I had planned on spending more time in town or more time in the apartment, I'd be really disappointed.

Elia (4/5): bed did not have the two bed sheet pieces - Disappointed with the amount of taxes these people are charging... I pressed the reserve button without noticing the amount of tax they charge for this room, and boy I was surprised... THE TAXES COST MORE THAN THE ACTUAL ROOM!!! I could not believe and/or cancel the deal... there is no refund if you do it and off course you are stuck at that point. Watch out!!! I complained several times, asked the owner to call me back and they didn't even bother. Expedia was very helpful in that sense!!! Thank you Expedia!!! I do not recommend this room... yeah, it was very clean, but the bed did not have the two bed sheet pieces... only the fitted one. So, you have to cover yourself with the covers (which only God knows how often they wash those things). No TV in the bedroom, and I tried warming up water for some tea in the morning and the appliance was releasing some black stuff in the water, and the bedroom window did not lock it. I was alone with my daughter and it was a bit scary. Also, a bit of freeway/busy street noise and not beautiful view of the pool as it was advertised.
Verified traveler (10/5): A comfortable homebase from which to explore LA. - The property is not a standard hotel with someone always stationed at the front desk ready to let you in. Instead, it's primarily apartments rented by UCLA students. Thus, be sure to have the contact phone number (which you'll receive via Expedia email upon booking) handy upon arrival. The one bedroom apartment was comfortable. Furnished. Clean. The unit came with one assigned parking spot in the underground, gated garage. The balcony was a bonus (affording views of the sunset) as was the pool and fitness room. Multiple laundry rooms are in the building and necessitate just putting cash on a laundry card to utilize.
Celeste (8/5): Great unit, but what's up with 100% taxes + fees? - Great, spacious place in the exact neighborhood I wanted to stay, but after I booked a sweet deal at $113 a night for 2 nights ($226), a fees of $230 was added, more than doubling the price. If you want people to continue to use this venue and Hotels.com, just put the full price up front. Taxes/fees of greater than 100% is ridiculous. Great balcony for watching the sunset.
