Guest Reviews
- Anthony (4/5): - Staff were excellent. We chose this hotel due to its location to Bingin Beach, a popular surf break. Sadly the demolishing of the buildings near the beach prevented safe access to the beach. This was obviously out of the control of the hotel management, but it resulted in us leaving a week earlier than planned.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Stay elsewhere - Room was dirty, shower took ages to heat up, my room door didn't lock and I came home twice to find it open wide after staff had remade the bed, don't walk on the floor after a shower barefoot or you will need to shower again, your skin will smell terrible after going in the pool, my room was the darkest little dungeon room right by reception, I couldn't open my curtains without every guest seeing in. had better stays in home stays and hostels in other parts of bali
- Alejandro (6/5): - Great location, facility infrastructure could be better, clealiness could be better.
The staff was amazing!
They recommended places, rented us a scooter and answered every question.
- Andrea (10/5): - Everything was perfect. Staff was exceptional, incredibly kind and accommodating. Really enjoyed our stay.
- Cushla (10/5): - Staff went above and beyond- Outstanding service. Awesome value for money, a unique boho environment. Loved the central pool and coffee area. Large room and bathroom. Close to beach, dining options.
- Matthew (10/5): - Lovely staff, excellent facilities, great loaction
- Shannon (10/5): - We were here during nyepi. The staff took great care of us and when we could adventure, they rented us scooters and helped book a car for our transport.
- Christopher (8/5): - The hotel is nice. In our room we struggled with the number of mosquitos, no matter how much repellent (plug-in and spray). The staff was extremely nice, just communication about transportation or dietary requirements required triple checking as there were often mixups.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Do not let the photos fool you - This hotel was due for a renovation 7 years ago. When we got there, we were early before checkin so we hung around the pool area. At 13:50 we asked again if our room was ready. They said it was but had to ask the manager if they could let us in 10 minutes early. They were not allowed to. Why? I don't know, but I have never experienced this type of distrust or lack of service mindedness. The premisses is falling to pieces. It rained in on my bed at night, which we let the manager know. He fixed it by leisurely putting a tarp over the roof. The room is damp, and there are moisture balls in every corner to manage this. The door is impossible to close and lock, and there are gaps inbetween the roof and the walls to let insects in.
They also wouldn't let us check out before checking our room. There is no minibar, so I am assuming they wanted to see if we destroyed anything in the room. Also shows the amount of distrust for their guests, which is ridiculous considering I would never trust this hotel given the discrepancy between photos and reality. Do yourself a favor and do not book this hotel until they have renovated and changed management. Or lowered the price, because it is NOT worth what we paid.
- Luca (4/5): - The structure is really poor, poorly maintained, and almost entirely made of wood (that is not bad if well-maintained). It immediately becomes noticeable that no maintenance has been done for years. Many of the parts of the structure are broken and give a sense of abandonment.
The rooms are decent, but the water in the shower flows in small drops, there is no pressure, and the air conditioning is totally inadequate for the size of the room (totally useless). The windows barely close, letting mosquitoes in and making all the noises around, without considering the mold that forms due to the lack of maintenance of the wooden structure.
There is only a bar open in the morning for breakfast (not included in the price), and then that's it. There is not even the possibility of drinking something while staying in the pool, which, among other things, has cloudy water (ergo, no maintenance).
The price for the room is well more than double its real value, it should cost 50-60% less for what it offers.
At the same price, there are much better structures near this hotel. Don't be fooled by the photos.
- Steve (10/5): - Very friendly staff.
- Andrea (8/5): - The hotel has nice decor and the staff and friendly and helpful. The room was clean but the hot water did not work in the shower. The ceiling of the room seemed to have some black stains, not sure if they could be mould, the room didn’t smell mouldy.
- Christopher (10/5): A slice of paradise in quiet perfect location - I had the most wonderful stay at Boho Bingin Beach - I read some bad reviews prior so I wasn't sure how it would go, but the hotel is absolutely beautiful. Sure the pool deck may be a little weathered, but it is truly a slice of paradise. The staff are so lovely and welcoming, the pool and communal areas are so nice and lovely to hang around for a lazy day, and it is such a nice quiet pocket of Bingin. Couldn't recommend it more!!
- Karyn (4/5): - The room was clean but basic. No door on the bathroom. Toilet door did not close properly. Toilet leaked so floor was constantly wet. Hot water was hit and miss - had one hot shower during the four days. Water pressure was low. Fridge didn't work but they did offer us free breakfast. room locked with a padlock which was an issue one day as I was sick/asleep in the room but the door had to remained open otherwise, either I was locked in the room or my husband couldn't get back in the room without waking me.
Pool area was nice but more chairs/lounges were needed.
- Barbara (4/5): - Beautyful and peaceful little hotel, well located and really safe. Unfortunately our room didn’t satisfied our expectation. Poor cleanness (the bed sheet and the towels were dirty), really strong humid smell and on top we had a plumbing problem that took over 12h to be solved. I believe this hotel has a great potential if they will upgrade/reform a bit more the rooms.
- Jimena (4/5): - I dont know if it’s because I got a room that was a bit more far away but I could hear EVERYTHING around I slept a total of 5 hours in the 3 days I was there
- Andres (4/5): Location is good, rooms are bad - This place is nice looking but everything is old and musty. The room has a mold smell and the water is not fresh for shower, taste salty. The pool in not clean and around the pool has screws sticking up out of the deck. WiFi is very spotty. Location is the only thing that is good
- Luka (2/5): - I found three different types of mould in my room, I heard staff on walkie-talkies outside my bathroom, anyone could see me showering if they simply looked through the dilapidated and decaying wooden blinds(they had gaps in them and some aren’t properly fixed to the walls). When I checked out on my first evening, a member of staff got the manager on the phone who said if i cancelled the reservation I would be able to get a refund, then hung up on me. This was literally untrue, I am yet to get a refund, nor have I been able to cancel the reservation online as the first day had began. Pictures suggested a nice basic room, they failed to highlight the decaying state of the room, or the rust coated shower heads that poured out metallic tasting water. Unfortunately, I am not able to recommend this hotel, as at least in the case of my room, the weak AC and smell of mould left me with a lukewarm and noxious room that gave me discomfort in my chest within 2 hours of being in there. There was literal brown filth coating all the light switches. I’m not sure if the rooms are cleaned more than with a cursory vacuuming and mopping. If you do not mind a dirty room, and mould, then by all means, visit here. Do know though that the doors are VERY flimsy, and the wooden bar that is supposed to bolster them literally cannot be used with the door locked, as the lock keeps it from being able to slot over the door with both sides secure. Anyone could barge in with slight effort.
- Anna (10/5): - absolutely amazing
- Kyle (10/5): - Nice spot in the hills and forest area. Very clean and well set up rooms with very friendly and attentive staff
- Verified traveler (6/5): Salty showers - The hotel itself is pretty (similar to the photos) and the staff very kind. However, I was very disappointed with the hotel.
The room was large and spacious, but there was not even a curtain to separate the shower from the room. When you showered, water got all over the place outside of the shower.
There was no fresh water.. all water from the sink and the shower was salt water. The water pressure from the shower was also low, and there was very little hot water. We had just arrived from traveling and being sweaty so we were looking for a quick shower upon arrival, so not being able to shower properly was quite annoying.
Although they offer a small jug of clean water when you arrive, they didn’t have bottled fresh water, so be prepared to bring your own.
They had no towels when we checked in.
The AC in our room barely worked (only a slight noticeable effect and room was still hot at night).
I don’t blame this on the hotel, but there was nearby construction going on, and the workers started hammering at 8 AM.
In conclusion, I don’t think the one night we stayed was worth the price we paid. It’s not nice to shower in cold, salt water and at a bare minimum, bottles of water should be made available at reception (even if only available to purchase).
- Janay (10/5): Great and relaxing solo travel experience - Great and sanctual little spot in Uluwatu. I thought this property was well suited to a solo (which is rare) with many great common spaces including library, pool and bar. Super helpful and friendly service and spacious rooms with all you need. Central location and right next to Bingin beach, you’re able to rent scooters through the hotel and explore nearby spots including Dreamtime beach, Bingin, shopping and about 10 minutes away from single fin etc.
- Ashlee (10/5): - Love the boho feel and breakfast was amazing
- Mackenzie (8/5): - For Bali prices, I think this property is too expensive for what you get. The rooms also look a lot nicer in pictures than they are in real life. However, I will say that the location is lovely and very quaint, with super cute spaces throughout the property for you to chill and get some relaxation. The staff is super sweet and very accommodating. I wasn't very happy with the room I was given upon arrival and they upgraded me to a bigger one with no change in price. The location is walking distance to Bingin Beach, which is nice. Uluwatu is a beautiful place in general, so you're guaranteed to have a lovely time regardless of where you stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): great style; very helpful - --the place is a little worn around the edges, but it has a really charming aesthetic, especially in the common/lounge/pool areas
--really amazing service when I had some difficulty
--only real issue I had was that sometimes music from the hotel bar was played to loud, and this could be heard in some of the rooms
- Verified traveler (4/5): - I realise that this is a challenging time during the pandemic, but it would have been good to know in advance that there is no food available at the property and no staff after 5pm. I had understood from the description that there was a restaurant and breakfast was available - I was there with my children and not being able to order food, made it quite challenging for us and the hotel team offered us no solution (I know that gofood or grab are an option - but this was not possible for us on that day and the staff could have offered to help us out). Also the air conditioning could do with a service as it wasn't working and the rooms were very very hot. While one of the hotel team was very helpful, the others just seemed very uninterested, tired and not at all willing to help us. I'm sorry, I don't normally leave reviews - especially negative ones but given the price we paid, and having lived and stayed in many hotels in Bali for more over 10 years, this was really disappointing. It really is a beautiful property and in normal times, I'm sure the service is great - it would have been great if we got better treatment.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - We arrived to Boho with great expectations, but pictures and the description of hotel amenities were deceiving.
We booked a 2 single bed room; we got 1 bed and one mattress on the floor.
AC did not work, we reported but nothing was done “because you need to report it to the maintenance manager” but he was never around..
Ceiling fan was broken, clap, clap, clap noise all night long.
Staff provided us with a pedestal fan. Thank you, it worked.
Pool area is nice
Breakfast was okay with healthy options.
Overall, it is a nice place but needs work on customer services and little maintenance here and there.
- Jaslin (8/5): - Private and quiet hotel with great services and maintenance of the hotel. Urbanite may not used to the room door security(using pad lock). Amenities could be improved.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This is a stunning place to stay made even better by friendly helpful staff. We stayed in one of the 'lodge' rooms which was simple but very comfortable, clean and cool. The room AC worked well and the minibar was restocked with complimentary drinking water and beer/coke at normal prices. I'd recommend making use of the massage in their spa and the scooters: both great value. Breakfasts were consistently delicious. Apart from the pool there's lots of quirky communal spaces to hang out with a cocktail form the bar. The only slight negative is some early morning noise from local livestock (cows/dogs/chickens) but nothing major. Overall a beautiful place offering warm hospitality and a great alternative to one of the anonymous chain hotels. (Stayed for 9 nights in early October 2019)
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff were the highlight of our experience. The food was great and the little hang out areas made for a great time even when it was pouring rain. Best jackfruit tacos in Bali and great breakfasts also. The staff were really happy and helpful. Was an enjoyable stay overall.
- Leana (8/5): - Fabulous, friendly staff. Lovely breakfasts. We really enjoyed our stay at Boho bingin!
- Rhiannon (10/5): Beautiful hotel, highly recommended! - My friend and I stayed here on our trip to Bali and honestly it was one of the highlights of the trip! Such a beautiful hotel with loads of personality and cute touches/attention to detail. The staff were amazingly kind and helpful, and nothing was too much trouble. The manager also recommended that we visit Thomas Beach, which was really beautiful - thanks so much! I have already mentioned to several friends and family how lovely our stay was and would not hesitate to book again.
- N (8/5): SN - Room a bit noisy rattling window/door. Kept us up at night but bed was comfortable. Staff were very nice. Good breakfast.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely pool area and super friendly staff. Would recommend!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The property was beautiful, and the pool and breakfast areas were really nice. The common spaces were great. Our room was not totally what we expected, when we booked a superior room, and ended up in a ground floor room that was quite dark and basic. The ac worked, but not that well. Very friendly staff.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The staff here are all very friendly & helpful. We got to switch rooms to our liking and we even received a special gift before leaving. Thank you very much! You guys are wonderful...special thanks to the front desk receptionist :)
- Verified traveler (6/5): - On first glance, it’s a beautiful bohemian hotel. But then you realise it’s aesthetic over practicality. Shame.
Air con units placed next to gaps between roof/wall, so cool air escapes immediately and rooms stay unbearably hot (shouldn’t be advertised as having aircon!). Toilet in bedrooms/common areas have lovely old wooden doors, but they’re stiff and make loud creaky noises if you try to open/close (not great if sharing the room with another person). Rooms need a proper clean (floors were dirty + we had dozens of ants caught in spiders web directly above our toilet flush and cleaners never noticed). Some pathways to rooms were muddy so very slippery when it rained. While the receptionists are lovely, other staff barely understand English. Food at breakfast was disappointing, when you can find such great food nearby.
The only real positives were the linen/ towels smelt great, so their laundry team do well.
Overall this places feels like the neglected hobby of an interior designer who thought they could dabble in hotels... they need to get the substance right. They have a great venue, it just needs some care & attention to detail.
- Annick (10/5): Superbe séjour dans un hôtel plein de charme - We were looking for « un hôtel de charme », peaceful and with a good quality of service. That is exactly what we found at Boho Bingin and even more with the kindness and availability of the entire staff. A special reward to the Chef for his delicious and original cooking. The best breakfast ever !
- Rahim (10/5): - Beautiful property, very well decorated and maintained. The bar and swimming pool area are just stunning. Best breakfast. Welcoming staff. Highly recommended.
- duncan (8/5): Nice Spot - It’s nice for what you pay. I think there are
Nicer spots w better views but Boho is nice experience for what you pay.
- TC (10/5): Bingin break - Very friendly and comfortable stay. Thanks so much.
- ayla (6/5): Sharing is caring - We enjoyed our stay at Boho Bingin. We reserved the deluxe apartment that was actually a room that had a shared space with another room. The shared space had a full kitchen. We did not know the guest who we shared the deluxe apartment with. The view from the room was great but it was extremely hard to cool the room because of the building design. The staff was friendly and helpful. If you’re traveling to the area and in search for the a community/sharing vibe with all guest, this is a great hotel for you. If you are looking for privacy, I don’t believe this is the best hotel to choose.
- Ian (10/5): - From the minute we arrived, we were made to feel like part of a family. There is such a beautiful relaxing vibe here, and the staff were incredibly attentive to our needs. They helped arrange a scooter for us, gave us the best tips on where to go and where to eat in Uluwatu, including the best beach for swimming and chilling. And there are even great spaces at the property to just relax, lounge on couches or in the hammock, lay by the pool and drink cocktails, and just enjoy the serenity. It is also very conveniently located and close to everything whilst being secluded enough to be tranquil. I would definitely stay here again.
- Miss B Rudd (10/5): Lovely hotel - Great stay!
- Jenny (8/5): Cute place to stay, lovely pool. - Beautiful hotel, staff were friendly, nice welcome drink and beautiful pool. The hotel itself is so beautiful but the rooms were not the comfiest... little things could be done to improve but overall had a good stay it was only one night. Loved it was only a 5 minute walk to Bingin Beach. Found the bed quite hard and the mosquito net too small. And the bathroom is sort of open plan with the bedroom. The room was advertised as “deluxe apartment with ocean view” but it was actually a double room with shared lounge/kitchen facilities with a room opposite and a pool view not ocean.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful hotel that really makes you feel like you are on a getaway vacation
- shaun (10/5): An absolute gem of a hideaway - Whilst visiting family in seminyak I booked this place last minute to go visit a friend who was staying in Bingin. We all know how photos can be deceptive but Boho has a far prettier than it appears in 2D. From the moment I arrived I was treated like family. All of the staff remember your name and are extremely helpful. Special shout to Cisco the Manager for being a great host. Seeing that I was travelling alone he invited me out for dinner with some of the other guests and we had a fantastic night if Portuguese food and later a trip to a club on the cliff top. It’s a very relaxed atmosphere, comfortable rooms and lively food. The beach is a short walk away and you are 4 mins on a bike from plenty of other restaurants and bars should you feel the need to get out f the hotel which, to be honest, I didn’t! I would love to go back for another visit. Delightful.
- Alex (10/5): Great hotel with beautiful staff and facilities - Loved the stay! Although there are some room better than others. Avoid tropical 4 it feel a little small.
We asked and moved rooms and the other one was amazing although no view still a lot nicer!
Staff at in the restaurant are really nice and helping. The pool is great surrounded by flower. It’s quite luxurious :)
And food is good too decently priced.
Hotel is 10min walk to the beach 🏝
All in all would go back again
- Jennifer (10/5): Camera's Ready! - BEAUTIFUL place! Perfect for all your Instagram and FOMO shots! The vibe at BoHo is very peaceful--you could literally stay at the pool all day. Unfortunately we had too much to see in Uluwatu that we did not get to spend enough time here. The staff and owner are very friendly and knowledgeable about the area--the owner even told us about the surfing championships that were going on close by! It was a great experience.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful room, amazing pool, great food, awesome location to explore all the beaches in the area.
- Guilherme (8/5): Certo Nice felling - Se stayd only 2 days, vir se loved de decoration of the space overall. The common areas very beautifull and the room also very nice
- Verified traveler (8/5): Good hotel! - Good hotel, nice details everywhere - unfortunately our room was very bright so sleeping was limited
- Tim (10/5): Beautiful accommodation close to Bingin Beach - I stayed at Boho Bingin with my girlfriend for 4 nights. The staff are extremely friendly and accommodating and did their upmost to ensure our experience was a positive one. I'll be staying here again.
- Vane (10/5): Our home for 12 days! - My boyfriend and I stayed at Boho for 12 days and we loved the experience the staff is lovely and all of them are very helpful, the breakfast is very good and they have a lot of options, our hot water was broken and they upgrade us. We will definitely come back to Boho next year!
- Gabrielle (10/5): Beautiful boutique hotel! - Absolutely stunning hotel with beautiful interior, a lot of character and great service. The manager Francesco went above and beyond to make our stay great.
- Han (10/5): Beautiful Hotel - The moment we walked in we were in love with the hotel. The staff were very friendly and were very hospitable. Bingin Beach is less than 10 mins walk and scooter away from other beautiful beaches close by. Definitely will try to stay at Boho Bingin Hotel next time we're in Bali.
