It was so nice to have use of a full kitchen if i wanted to use it. Beth is sweet and kind. I forget the host's assistant's name but she was great too. I did not like booking.com's post payment information. "Get directions" only told me the address. It didn't actually take me to a map like it should have. There were too many emails. It would have been great to get one email with all of the information..
- Rori (10/5): - I loved the view. We felt very safe, traveling as a group of college girls we were a little nervous to stay anywhere but a hotel, but we had to stay within a very tight budget. This checked all of our boxes. We hit some bad weather and rough road conditions leading us to get to the hostel at almost 3am... We were nervous that we would have trouble checking in. We carried our bags in extremely quietly tiptoeing through the home making sure not to wake anyone. We found our check in instructions on the table described and were able to locate our room with no trouble. It was such an amazing stay. The only thing I wish I knew is that the only way to get to Jackson from the hostel is going over teton pass. (This is probably common knowledge but we didn't know that...) Teton pass was not in the best condition this time of year which is another thing we didn't expect. Being about an hour away from Jackson would have been perfect in the summer or earlier in the fall, but we were nervous to go over the pass once the sun went down meaning we had to leave the park earlier than we had planned to. This was nothing against the hostel at all just something we wished we had known! I really hope to go back, I'd love to explore Driggs some too. We will definitely stay here again. You can't beat the price and safety.

I wanted to hear about the property and history. The Tetons are my favorite and being in a “hostel” I thought it would be interesting to chat. I realize she was in business mode but she was abrupt and unkind a couple of times. Perhaps she was preoccupied with something rough in her life. - elif (9/5): It felt like I was staying at my friend's place! - Homey and very clean. I'd recommend this place over most of the more expensive hotels I've stayed at. The only caveat being the shared bathrooms, though then again, they were cleaner than the private bathrooms of some hotels. As a plus, you get a large kitchen with all the essentials to prepare yourself cozy meals. K-cups for coffee, which is much better than the watered down motel coffee. A teeny tiny thing I didn't like was the 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner, which never works well as either shampoo or a conditioner!

- BINBIN (10/5): - An overall wonderful experience. Especially during the peak season in Grand Teton, when hotel prices skyrocket to outrageous levels, this place felt like a refreshing oasis quietly appearing. Although it’s nearly an hour’s drive from Jackson, the unique pastoral ranch scenery of Idaho was truly captivating. Since I only stayed one night, I didn’t have time to enjoy many of the details here, including the complimentary continental breakfast. Check-in was contactless, and by following the instructions sent in advance, I easily found the property. A welcome note with my name was waiting on the living room table, which was a nice touch. Late September nights in Idaho can be very cold. While the main hall was warm, the study room I stayed in (converted into a guest room) was unusually chilly and had no extra blankets available. I had to put on an extra jacket and sleep without undressing. Most of the fellow guests were friendly, but one young Chinese traveler sharing the space showed poor manners. Early in the morning, he turned on the bright lights without considering others who were still resting, made a lot of noise packing, went in and out repeatedly, and finally left the study door wide open. This was the first time I encountered such inconsiderate behavior from a fellow guest.
- Megan (10/5): - I stayed in this hostel and it was a great experience! This was my first time ever staying in a hostel, so I was quite nervous, given my young age as well. I opted for the female only dorm room. I did arrive super late on my check in day, so I didn't get to explore the property much or talk to anyone, and just went right to bed. Instructions were super clear and easy, it made my check in seamless. Parking was clear and there was never a problem finding a spot even when the hostel was full. The guests staying here were extremely friendly and I met a new friend, and we went on a hike together and jumped in the lake! Amenities were great, the bathroom was always spotless and easy to use. They have really thought of everything including earplugs just in case someone is snoring! The hour drive to Jackson is also super peaceful and beautiful.

- Jeannette (10/5): A stay at a perfect world - Prompt phone response upon ride in to clarify driving directions. I slept so well, as I had long days, probably the last one up. Beth had discovered that I had forgotten my prescription medication which was under my pillow & immediately brought it to me. It was so nice to give the indoor wind chimes a little ring as I took in the due East view as I collected my thoughts before leaving. The display of Tibetan flags & Himalayan certificate of honor was grounding.

- Michelle (10/5): Excellent, affordable stay for visiting the nearby national parks! - Such a lovely place to stay! Very comfortable, peaceful, beautiful surroundings, and super clean. Everyone respected the rules for quiet hours, did not really know there were other people staying until seeing them in the common areas. Really great to have space in the fridge to keep our leftovers from dinner. Breakfast was very good, too. Easy to get to from Grand Teton and to head on to Yellowstone. Wifi was pretty decent overall. Would stay here again without hesitation! Nothing really. The only very minor thing was the driveway has a lot of potholes, but if you go really slow and watch carefully, it's fine, even with a passenger car (high clearance vehicles would have no issue whatsoever).

- Honggang (10/5): very happy trip - The house is a large log home, well-maintained and very clean. There is a spacious balcony where you can watch the sunset over the quiet, beautiful valley. The staff are friendly and welcoming. I was also fortunate to meet the owner, Beth, who is warm and kind. She is currently supporting homeless children in the Philippines by giving them a home and helping them go to school. Her work has truly changed their lives. Two of the children recently graduated from high school with honors.

I spent two nights there separated by 2 backpacking trips in Grand Teton national park as well as local Idaho forest. I enjoyed the easy checking, laundry, BBQ grill and other facilities, not to mention talking to other travelers and Beth. I would happily come back anytime I'm in the area. Definitely come visit this gem if you have any inclination, you won't regret it! Nothing. Was perfect!

It may seem long but the drive is stunning so it didn’t seem long. They had everything you need at the hostel. The staff were very pleasant as were the other guests! The views are amazing as well.

- JEFFERY (10/5): - The Hideaway Hostel is a very good value with a location 20 minutes from the Grand Targhee Resort (my focus) and about 5 minutes from Driggs ID. I stayed in one of the private rooms (there are mult-person bunkrooms on the lower level) which was a large room with comfortable bed, DirecTV, a futon, and a very large en suite bathroom with shower and jetted tub. There is a pleasant sitting area on the main floor and an equipped kitchen so guests can fix their own meals (the grocery store in Driggs has lots of good ready-to-heat meals). A continental breakfast is provided.

Enjoyed the central kitchen and living area. Nice to get up and have some good coffee via Keurig and full kitchen to prepare whatever you wanted. Other guests were super friendly and enjoyable as well. Would highly recommend a stay here. Location is a little remote but if you have a car that is not a problem. A bit of ice in the entry area prior to climbing up the steps to the porch. Did not cause a problem but something to watch out for.

- Erica (10/5): Hostel living at its best and in a log house that is magazine worthy. - I loved the privacy of my own room in a beautiful hostel setting where I was free to use the gourmet kitchen, shower in a wonderful bathroom, lounge in a gorgeous living room, and meet other travelers. There was nothing I did not like.
- Jim (10/5): - Great location. Easy access to to Grand Targhee and the town of Driggs. The property is unique in that it is a house with common areas and then individual rooms. The only downside to the property is a lof of delapidated cars, RVs, misc junk laying around. We would stay here again.

We also had a misunderstanding over a broken shower which left us feeling quite blamed and uncomfortable - even though we apologised for the misunderstanding.
