Guest Reviews
- Bryce (10/5): - Amazing very clean very nice amazing WiFi
- gabe (10/5): - Friendly service with updated bathroom and lots of parking that is walking distance to restaurants and grocery store.
- Yolanda (4/5): - THE BED CLOSEST TO THE DOOR THE SHEET HAD DIRT ON THEM LIKE THE WEREN'T CHANGED SO I PLACE THEM ON THE FLOOR WITH THE BEDSPREAD I HAD BROUGHT MY OWN FLAT SHEET AND PILLOWCASES SHAMPOO THE CARPET WOULD HELP THE OLDER SMELL AND IT HAD WIRES HANGING OFF A TABLE WITH THE LAMP
BUT OVERALL, WE WERE THERE FOR A FAMILY EMERGENCY MY MISTAKE I DIDN'T NOTICE NO BREAKFAST THAT ON ME AND FOR THAT PRICE
- Jack (8/5): - Really friendly staff old world FL. Hotel in Avon park would stay again if in the area
- Heather (10/5): - Very nice and clean.
- Debra (8/5): Clean average room - I’ve stayed in worse and stayed in better. No coffee, Or continental breakfast but there is a dinner next door. It was clean and I he bed was good. The location is right across from our place of meeting. Stayed an additional night.
- David (10/5): - Great place right off 27 in Avon Park. Very nice checkin and super big and clean room. Wonderful diner next door and supermarket also in walking distance.
- James (10/5): Excellent value for the money. - Older motel but was renovated 4 years ago. No coffee or complimentary breakfast. However, excellent value for the money. Owners were very friendly. I will definitely stay there again.
- Steven (4/5): - All I can say is, “at least there were no bugs”. The place is old as Dirt. Furnishings would not sell at a thrift shop nor a garage sale, and we felt like we were in a dungeon or prison cell. Literally painted block walls with electric wires and fixtures surface mounted on the walls.
- Gregory (10/5): - Dated but well kept room, attentive service. Enjoyed stay.
- KATHY (8/5): - easily access to Highway 27. Dining options are within walking distance. Grocery store (Winn Dixie) next door also the Avon Park Diner. the room was clean
- Karyn (8/5): - The motel was refurbished and VERY clean inside. While the surrounding area was not the best, the motel was well lit. The staff was friendly and helpful. The diner and grocery store on either side of the property were very convenient for our needs. The road (Hwy 17) has a great deal of truck traffic during the night so a room not facing the road might be a quieter choice.
- David (6/5): - Motel was older. Room was large and clean. More updating of room would make for a better stay. Very over valued for what it was.
- Diana (2/5): - Did not stay, we were 3 women traveling alone, did not feel safe no other people in the building, opened door lizard ran across the floor, no refund, disputed charges with credit card company.
- Judy (2/5): - It was the worst stay. Mattresses was on a board , the lobby was closed the lighting was dark. Unable to read in the room
- Judy (4/5): - The lobby was closed had to had to talk through a 4 in hole, the lighting in the room was so dim you couldn’t read. No Wi-Fi
- Gregory (6/5): - Basic accomm. No charm, but seemed clean, spacious. No in-room coffee. No offered access to internet although we found some local protected wifi hubs. Check in procedure at the armour-proofed wicket; and light/tv wall switch …both a bit sketchy. Highway noise noticeable from bed.
- Ken (10/5): - The gentleman at the desk is very helpful and nice. There is a diner right next to the place with excellent breakfast; which he suggested that we try.
- Connie (4/5): - We were put in a room that had no electrical outlets in the bathroom, torn lampshades, yellow and stained sheets, smelly comforter, and yet charged the same amount that was charged to others with a remodeled room. We were told this was because we had a dog?!?! And, charged $45.00 initial fee for our small dog along with an additional $20.00 fee for the 2nd night! How incredibly unfair to be put into a substandard room just because we had a dog! After much discussion, we were reimbursed 1/2 our nightly charge, after canceling our 2nd night’s stay. The owners were overall nice when confronted…we will give them that.
- Helen (10/5): Birthday celebration - The room was very clean . The bathroom was nice and clean and plenty of hot water.
- Adam (4/5): They need to do way better for the money. - Bathroom walls and door were filthy. Shower curtain was dirty like someone with greasy hands grabbed it. The floor of the shower was covered in brown or orange sand. Left over soap from previous guest was still on the shower floor. Only had 2 towels in the bathroom. Room took 5 or 6 hours to cool off as the AC unit is too small for the space. Couldn't hear the tv at all due to it being directly below the AC wall unit and the unit is incredibly loud. Ice machine was out of order so you had to go to the desk for bags of ice. Bed linens were old and the beds weren't that great either. It looks like they tried to update the room but fell flat. We would have probably asked to change rooms, but the fact that it took so long for the thing to cool off, we didn't want to sit in another sweat box.
- Margaret (8/5): - there wasn't any coffee in the morning, in the room or lobby.
- suzanna (6/5): - 2 persons. goods: motel is old, but room gives good, updated appearance upon entering. room is a good size. part of it is near hwy 19, but not noisy. bads: no hangers. only 1 plastic cup. coin-op. ice machine no-op for long time. no coffee maker. no ice trays in fridge. noisy heat/cool wall unit; no adjustable air direction fins. wifi password not given at ck-in. 1 of 2 beds soft/not comfortable. no extra t.p. roll - only 1/3 roll provided. no facial tissue.
- Crystal (8/5): - Very simple & clean room. It was quiet (even though right by road) plenty of hot water for a nice long shower
- Tonya (10/5): Great place to stay! - Super quiet and clean. Close to stores and restaurants.
- Steven (8/5): - Privacy i liked.
- William (10/5): - Close to everything.
- Mark (8/5): - Staff was friendly and did a good jon
- Jack (10/5): - It was nice an clean
- Daniel (4/5): - Expedia messed up length of stay, then at check in price went up $11 a night, can't recommend this place or Expedia.
- Daniel (6/5): Just okay - The stay was okay for one night. The towels were laundered but stained, as was the bedding. They need to be replaced.
The manager was nice and did recommend a restaurant for breakfast.
- durette (4/5): - I was disappointed that the restrooms couldn’t flush I didn’t made a big deal of it because it was for one night of stay. I truly believe the water unit should filter more often I had to purchase water for myself and son to brush our teeth because the water taste really bad.
- John (4/5): - Over all it was clean and fresh. TV didn’t work. AC was a loud window unit. Wall plugs so old the phone charger would fall out. I’ve stayed in worse but want happy fir the price.
- tom (8/5): - Rooms are recently remodeled and comfortable. Facility has large open center area but no picnic table or chairs, no chairs outside rooms for leisurely relaxing, no pool, ice machine has been down the whole time we’ve been here and lots of foot traffic through the parking lot.
- Jennifer (8/5): - The staff wasso polite and accommodating! Kitchen in room was such a surprise for us! There were so many stores and food stores in v walking distance
- James (6/5): Clean, but way overpriced for an older basic motel - Whiles the rooms were clean and comfortable, the rate is way too high for a basic old motel. Would stay again if it was the only place to stay or defiantly stay if price was half what they charged. Half the current rate would fill all their rooms. Owners were nice, just too expensive, but all we could find on short notice.
- Joan (8/5): - This is a no no-nonsence approach property. Clean and retro.
- Todd (2/5): - I stayed in this property while passing through for the free internet wifi and a nice hot shower. I went zero for two. It was clean, but they had some kind of water temp regulator on the showers which resulted in a lukewarm shower. The wifi connected, but felt like 1990s era wifi speed and I had to just burn my cellular connection.
- Moaid (10/5): - This has become my home away from home!
- JOHN (8/5): Very nice owners and reasonable rates. - The owners were very nice and helpful. They gave me a ride to an important event when no UBER was available. The room was clean and quiet. It's relatively close to Sebring International Raceway which is good for fans attending the races and less expensive compared to other options.
- Daylen (6/5): - Not a pleasant place to stay, didn’t have another option not too many hotels on that area
- Moaid I (10/5): - A lovely quaint spacious comfortable place to stay. Makes you feel at home. Very clean. Well centered, within walking and driving distance of numerous amenities . We love the place, it has become our "home away from home".
- Paul (8/5): - Good place to stay. was asked if a single bed room was acceptable and I did take it. Had to check out early but manager easily arranged that.
- Paula (4/5): - There was no coffee, ice machine was broken, no blow dryer, found a cockroach on the wall. Bed was comfortable and bathroom was nice. For $100 a night there should have had at least a coffee maker in the room.
- Mary (10/5): - Lobby wasn't open, Hitu at the window was very friendly and suggested breakfast spot. Room was updated nice and clean. Furniture was dated, but functional. Bed was firm. Grounds very clean. Would stay here again.
- JENNIFER (2/5): Gross- do not stay - Do not stay in this inn. It was disgusting. The lights didn't work, the ice machine was broken, no smoke detector, WET towels hanging in the bathroom, very uncomfortable bed, super loud and shady activity.
- Joe (2/5): - This is just a roadside motel. It was way overpriced. On a good day, this is a $60/night motel. It was clean enough and the beds were comfortable enough. There was no wifi and the tv remote wasnt quite working properly. One evening our room key didnt work so i went to the office to find a note on the door saying they would be back in 3 hours. Luckily, they hadn't left yet, and we were able to get in our room. If not, then we would have been stuck. Overall, 1/5. Would not recommend staying here.
- Luna (8/5): - Spacious and fairly clean
- Lea (10/5): - The owner was very kind and accommodating and the room was clean and a good size. I was able to get into my room past midnight and the options for food around were very good.
- Thomas (6/5): - Nasty mattresses. Bathroom door was hanging off the hinge. Incemaker not working. Bath towels the size of large dish towels. Friendly staff. Clean.
- Sammy (6/5): - Really big old Oaks on a large property.
- robert (10/5): - handy
- Annette (4/5): - Floors and shower and towels dirty the bed was so noisy loud and couldn’t even move was not happy at all
- Tarod (10/5): - Amazing. They were very patient with my situation
- Linda (8/5): - Room was very spacious. Hot water was not hot.
- Daniel (10/5): - Outside was somewhat dingy, but inside totally clean and comforting. Everything looked nice.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The Oak Tree Inn, was the nicest, cleanest motel in the area. The way the little family owned Motels were run. Very impressed with the friendliness, cleaniness and quietness of the motel. many rooms, will still again in the future. Stay away from those nasty Big hotel chains, this place is a charmer!!!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice place to lay down for the price
- samuel n (10/5): Great place. - This was our second time staying here and we will be back. Owners are friendly and will do anything they can to help you. Rooms are spotless and being updated constantly.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Basic and clean - Overall experience was ok. Rooms were basic and clean. Check in was a bit weird. Main office wasn't open and they checked me in through a tiny window. The rooms were just re-done and all floors are laminate, so no more dirty carpets. Thats an A+ in my book. They could use some new towels because all mine were stained with spots which grossed me out. Glad I always bring my own.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - It was clean and confortable befes. Very clean salla . No reception counter, only a little window with torn screen that you almost don’t see
the concierge. The yard is awful without fence.
- Verified traveler (2/5): - Initially, I liked the quoted price, but found out that there had been a mistake and the quoted price was not granted and I had to paid an additional $33.?? I don't know who made the mistake of a misquoted price, but I'm not the one that did it, yet I had to pay for it. There were virtually "no" amenities, and you even had to pay for ice. No vending machines that I found. Had the impression, it was kind of a sleasy place. I would not stay there again, and would not recommend it to anyone.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Just a very basic room, nothing fancy but clean and quiet.
- Kristin (6/5): Ok but could be better - The stay was good, the room was clean, the only issue we had was the tv it didn’t work at all it’s ran off internet and the internet sucked bad!!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - upkeep could be better unit shows signs of ware lighting was very poor one was not even plugged in no outlet available
- Verified traveler (10/5): - A vintage “old Florida” motor court type of motel. Very clean....feels safe....love that your car pulls right up to your room’s door....staff was friendly and nice and gave me a free upgrade to a king bed.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Disgusting& Disappointed - We did not stay there. Upon paying for a room and going to check it out, we found mouse poop all along the window sills and behind the night stands. There was a lizard on the ceiling with debris attached. The kitchen light was literally a fast strobe light and would not stop. The smoke detector was missing, but the wires were there. One of the windows was partially opened and could not close it at all. This was true on every room. Very disappointed and got our money back and decided to go somewhere else.
- joseph (8/5): Avon Park Fl - Older hotel. Needs some updating. Television did not work first night but was made right the next day. Toliet was slow to fill but also corrected quickly. Good room for the price.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Spacious room which appeared to be room I booked viewing photo online HOWEVER...furnishings & basic necessities are substandard. It looked & smelled clean enough & we were exhausted, so we stayed. LOUD street noise & old wall mount AC.
- Anthony (10/5): - This hotel is a hidden gem with lots of charm. The property and rooms are clean, the atmosphere is peaceful and pleasant and the staff is very warm and hospitable. Wifi works great and with a strip mall literally right next door and popular food chains surrounding it, everything I could have needed was in walking distance. Oak Tree not only met my expectations, but exceeded them. Highly recommended if you need to stay in the area. Would definitely stay again and will next time around.
- Jose (4/5): - Dirty, outdated moldy bath fixtures, dirty carpet, awfully hard mattress. Way over priced
- Mary (8/5): Everything you require for a short stay was there - Very spacious accommodation
Everything you need was there
Old and needs updating but it was fine for a short stay
It was expensive for what you get
Plus side is it’s good parking and next door to a good shopping area
Staff where pleasant
- Britcardriver (10/5): - It’s “Campy”. Retro Florida! We were in the street facing rooms under the shade trees. Park right outside the room, set up our lawn chairs and enjoy the evening on our electronic devices and detail the car. So cool!
Ambiance is what we loved here.
Room was good, nothing spectacular. Bathroom was 1930’s pink & black tile with some expected wear, but was very functional. But in no way ADA compliant.
Owners have been there, living and managing the property for over 30 years, and they take pride in the property.
Beds were good, could stand new sheets & bed covers, but they were clean.
- Michael (10/5): oak tree nice place to stay for sleep and shower - Nice ckean simple no frills motel. good location lots of inexpensive food and stores.
will stay again when passing through area.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Bed was comfortable, weather was cool enjoyed the heater. Dusty light fixtures, corner of sink had a collection of pieces of debris, sink was extremely slow to drain, toilet set was too small for toilet.
We asked to have sink fixed while we gone for the day, that did not happen.
Charged for ice.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This little place is a gem. Owners were awesome. It’s a inexpensive hotel in good working condition and very accommodating owners. I travel with Lysol wipes so I felt safe.
