• Cbyrne0609 (10/5): Perfect Nosara Beach Escape - The hotel, the owners and staff, and location are all top notch. The rooms and every corner of this hotel are spotless. The owners and employees are always floating around and available with any questions you have. The hotel is quaint and cozy so going to the pool, breakfast or beach is very quick and easy. The staff is so kind and does an incredible job. The breakfast is delicious. The beds are cozy. There is a resident cat, Pepa (sp?), which my kids loved trying to find each day - it was always asleep in a new unique spot. Before going on our trip I had no concept of where things were, but now can say the center of town seems to be the road that leads to the main beach entrance, which is less than a block walk (Howler's is on this street for reference). So it's an easy walk to shops and restaurants during the day or evening. This hotel just has a special feel to it I can't quite explain, but definitely stay here, you won't regret it.

• lisalifejoy (10/5): Excellent hot/cold therapy experience! - My husband and I booked time in the hot cold therapy area, and were absolutely impressed with the quality and cleanliness of the facilities - definitely an upscale experience. The owner Tally and her son were great hosts, we enjoyed chatting with them. We will definitely return next time we are in Nosara. Highly recommend!
• bemoreyouonline (10/5): There aren't enough stars in the world to describe how much we love it here! - We've stayed at Moana 4 times now (and my husband is returning for a fifth time this summer), we fell in love the first time we went and I can't imagine staying anywhere else in Nosara. We love the community and family vibe here - everyone is so welcoming, warm and friendly. It's like home - but with sun, surf and glorious sunsets. The breakfast is off the charts - far better than some of the award-winning hotels we've stayed at. It's very laid back, so if that's your style, you'll love it too. Most people that visit have been coming here for years and it's been lovely to bump into old friends when we go back. I honestly don't think there are enough stars in the world to describe how much we love it here!
• V663PFtanyak (10/5): Exceptional - I opened the first cold plunge space in Nosara and over the past few years more and more have opened up. This is hands down the best place for contrast therapy in Nosara! The setting is so relaxing - the temperature of the sauna and the cold plunge are perfect and the hosts Danny and Tally are the kindest people. The candlelit experience was a 10/10 and I will absolutely be back!
• Wendy (10/5): This is the way to really enjoy Nosara! - This place is everything that Nosara is known for! Everything was perfect, direct access to the beach, wonderful hosts, yummy nourishing breakfast, clean comfortable room. All around a really calming way to melt into the blue zone. We are already dreaming of when we will be lucky enough to return to Moana.

• Miles (10/5): If you are searching you will not find a better place to enjoy Nosara. - The hospitality and welcoming nature of the owners was unparalleled. It almost felt like we were staying with close friends. Delicious breakfast spread every morning and a minute walk to one of the most incredible beaches I’ve ever visited. The whole place is like a beautiful perfectly manicured garden. Go surfing, relax in hammocks by the pool, walk on the beach, go into town for food and drinks. This place is paradise. Literally nothing comes to mind.
• Global31980648310 (10/5): Amazing surfing experience! - I had a very a very good experience there, they teach surfing really well. Even though I was a beginner Mujid helped me a lot with surfing lessons. Recommend to go here to learn surfing even if you have never surfed before.
• CoolMontrealFamily (10/5): Amazing place to stay in Nosara - We just spent a week at Moana and loved it!! It’s a small little boutique type hotel, with a few units and a shared pool, and it is literally a 1-minute walk to the beach, it has its own path to the beach, which is very unique in Nosara. The owners Danny and Tali are super chill, and warm and welcoming, and add to the unique charm of the place. There was always amazing music playing. The villa we stayed in was great, 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms with plenty of room for a large family. It was very clean, good bathroom, with a great shower with strong pressure. The bed was super comfy. Wifi and AC worked well. There was an amazing breakfast served each morning which was lovely, and all the staff were super friendly and aimed to please. The location of Moana is also superb, not only walking distance to the beach, but also very close, just 4-5 min walk to everything in the main Giones town. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay at Moana, I would highly recommend it, you won’t be disappointed. We are already looking forward to going back.
• bonnieaB8308QM (10/5): Spectacular vacation! - Tali and her husband were super helpful before, during, and after our visit (their recommendations for restaurants were "spot on"). The resort sits right on one of the most beautiful beaches I've ever been to. The rooms were spacious and well-appointed (a great bed and pillows are a must for me!), and breakfast was delicious - something for everyone. The wonderful surf instructors were not only wonderful with our 3 teen'ish grandchildren during their official lessons, but they later played soccer on the beach and chess under the pavilion when the kids were not in the water. We can't wait to return.
• sammijsmith31 (10/5): Amazing Stay - We absolutely loved our stay at Moana. It was better than we had even hoped for! The grounds were beautiful and meticulously maintained. The hosts were so gracious- ready to help with any request and so very thoughtful. We had early morning surf lessons scheduled so they even held our delicious breakfasts past the scheduled serving time. We came from our lessons to discover the table set and all the delicious food we could ask for. And they did this without us even asking. This is how it was at every turn. There was a huge supply of surfboards available for use, a private path down to the beautiful beach and wonderful lounges and hammocks for use around the hotel. We highly recommend and look forward to visiting again!

• Kent (10/5): - Staff is incredibly helpful. . .anything you want in the way of excursions, rentals, transportation, or general information they will take care of arranging at no cost (though the excursion via a separate entity will have a cost) Bicycles and surfboards, beach chairs and beach umbrellas are available for use at no cost. There is a weight room sharing space with the yoga studio that is not mentioned on the website and that was a wonderful surprise. Breakfast is amazing and the hostess is always present to assist you in planning your day. Rooms and entire grounds are extremely clean. Even the two cats which live on the property add charm. Hotel is a 2 minute walk to the beach via a private path. Lots of restaurants within walking distance, and the Tuktuk stand is less than 200 yds away for farther journeys. The only negative is that the roads are unpaved and can be rough or muddy during the rainy season but after the first day a seasoned traveler adjusts their footwear or transportation accordingly. All in all we would love to go back someday.

The location is incredible, just around the corner from the happening spots but off the main road so very quiet. A private path to the beach through the jungle, surfing lessons and board rentals, a lovely pool and an exercise area were all appreciated. The best thing about Moana though is the staff. Everyone was so kind and welcoming. From the owners to the housekeeping staff. We felt we were surrounded by friends our entire stay. Highly recommend Moana for your stay in Nosara.

• annak07 (10/5): Quiet & Peaceful in the heart of Guiones - My family of 3 stayed at Moana for a week. The room was spacious, clean and beautifully designed. Giant windows that were easy to open and close, comfy beds with quality linens, beautiful bathroom with stocked with locally made toiletries. The kitchen was well stocked with dishes/utensils though we only made margaritas ☺️ a private outdoor space with lounger to watch the humming birds, pizote and other wildlife. Breakfast daily was delicious and plentiful, and they’ll make you something else if you want something different! The staff at Moana goes above and beyond. Genuinely kind, warm and accommodating. We loved the access to guiones for our twice daily surf sessions. The hotel is walking distance to several restaurants/cafes for other meals. Moana was a splurge for us but well worth it! We hope to return someday!

• Daniel (10/5): This is the place. - We had planned to stay 5 nights but were so taken with this hotel and Nosara that we ended up staying 9. Our room (the Eco) was clean, modern, quiet, and comfortable with a full kitchen. The property is beautiful and impeccably maintained with easy access to the beach down a private path. The included breakfast is generous and delicious. There’s a good selection of surfboards for rent (foamies, longboards, funboards) on site. Restaurants and stores are an easy 5 minute walk. The owners and staff are kind and gracious, happy to book surf lessons, dinner reservations, massage, etc. We will be back!
• lazytravel (10/5): Great Stay - This small charming family owned and operated property is the nearest hotel to Guiones beach. Just stroll path the natural reserve and you are there at the beach. Great location for surfing. There are boards, SUPs and other equipment for loan. Lots of restaurants and a convenience store nearby. Service was great and the rooms were very clean and comfortable. Good internet and plenty of great advise by the family. Will definitely return.
• buetzen (8/5): Great for keen surfers, on the pricey side - We stayed for two nights in the MAR room, which is large, bright and has a kitchen. The large balcony is ideal for hanging out. The room was clean. Breakfast is a small, but nice buffet, we were looking forward to it every time. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Around the pool area, there are options for relaxing, including a table tennis and some board games. Although people come here to surf and the hotel has a good access to the beach. There are no lunch or dinner options, neither is there a bar. Hence “resort” seems not really appropriate. One class of yoga per day is offered (payable). We enjoyed the stay, however the price seems too high for what the hotel offers.
• carolynq525 (10/5): Magical Surf-cetric Getaway - We just left Moana after a magical 4 day getaway sans kiddos which well spent surfing, eating yummy food and relaxing. Everything about Moana Surf Resort is well thought-out and geared toward promoting relaxation and enhancing the natural beauty of Nosara. The breakfast here is amazing and the rooms are beautifully decorated with custom wood furniture. Our favorite part was the warmth and congeniality of the owners and staff. Tali and Doni are the coolest and their surfer sons are so fun to chat with. Sofi and Stephanie are so sweet and catered to anything we wanted. • romank2017 (10/5): One Week Stay - We had an oustanding week at Moana Surf Resort! This was our first visit to Nosara. We can't say enough about this town (surfing, yoga, cuisine, activities, ocean, jungle). In particular, the fresh cuisine was as good as anything we have experienced. Tali, Danny and their staff were exceptional. Amazing attention to detail. Service at every level was five stars. Morning breakfast was absolutely superb. This resort offer a unique experience in Costa Rica. Right in the jungle, 200 metres to the ocean, beautifully appointed resort, calm and relaxing energy, yoga instructers were amazing. Love the common areas. We just can't say enough good things. We booked another holiday at Moana Surf Resort for Nov 2020.

Perfectly located in Nosara and we had a path from our patio directly to the beach. Breakfast was just incredible. Our surf coach Kaly was beyond great.. he was part of the family by the end of the week and had everyone up and into so many waves.. we'll be back!
• daniellebW2360WO (10/5): Honeymoon at Moana - My husband and I just had our honeymoon here! It was an amazing! Everyone was so welcoming and accommodating. The breakfast was spectacular and our room was perfect! Whether you are there to hang out on the beach, surf or explore the town this is the place to stay. It is a very short and beautiful walk to the beach and a short walk to any restaurant or shop in town. They will help you organize where to eat and give you the best recommendations! I ended up taking a surf lesson the refresh my skills and it was awesome. The instructor was great! We loved every minute of our stay at Moana and are already planning our return trip!
• lindsaymO6176AI (10/5): Incredible anniversary trip! - We had the most wonderful experience at Moana! We absolutely loved Tali and Danny and getting to know their sweet family and staff. We loved the short walk Thru the jungle to the beach & getting to surf every day! It was quiet and peaceful, and truly a break from our normal routine!! Everything was very clean, and they did everything to accommodate us, checking in on us often to make sure we had everything we needed, and making reservations and suggestions for restaurants!! We really enjoyed our massages in the open air, and our masseuse Steph was incredible! We would highly recommend Moana to anyone, couples looking for getaway, or a family escape, as Moana is family oriented and friendly! We cannot wait to go back soon!
• LutzK182 (10/5): Paradise at Playa Guiones - What a great time we had. The Moana Surf Resort is an amazing and unique place. We came with our two kids to spend a few days surfing in Nosara and found heaven on earth. The Moana is a very special place which gives you the feeling of being on a small island but you are only a few steps away from one if the best beaches in Nosara. You miss nothing there and the people are just great. Starts with Dani and Tali (and their two sons) the owners who built that special place and give you a warm welcome with their very hearty way they deal with their guests. Sue is a great manager who takes care of everything and not to forget about Nathalie who is there for three days a week helping with the breakfast and gives the best yoga classes we ever went to. Thanks to Tony and Lane even our little ones (7&9) caught their first waves and we had so much fun together in the water. Even though the streets to get there are anything but good, We would recommend everybody to spend a few days in this second to none place. THANKS A LOT!!!
• kimberlymT9769SD (10/5): A Truly Beautiful Place - We recently stayed at Moana Surf Resort and had an incredible time. From being greeted upon arrival to help with luggage to the incredible breakfasts, yoga classes and surf instruction, the owners Dani and Tali have created a beautiful place. They truly make you feel right at home. The pool is cool and refreshing along with the hammocks, cabanas and beautiful gardens surrounding you in the courtyard. One can easily feel secluded and private amidst the town of Nosara. The location is perfect for walking to all the great restaurants in town. Our room was wonderful and nicely appointed with tiniest details like organic insect repellant lotion. The walkway out to the beach and the beach itself was perfect for learning how to surf or simply swimming in the ocean. We were beginners to surfing and Juan Pablo got us up on the board with the first lesson. Lastly, it’s a wonderful place for both families and couples. We unfortunately didn’t have our daughter with us this time, but we can’t wait to return to Moana and show her around. It was a wonderful 7 days and we didn’t want to leave.
• lanea2019 (10/5): Heaven on Earth - My boyfriend and I spent a week at this magical hotel and nearly burst into tears the morning we had to leave. It's absolute paradise. The owners, Dani and Tali, make you feel like they've invited you into their luxurious, beachside home, welcoming you as if you were family. They orchestrated everything for us including surf lessons with the most legendary surf instructor ever, Juanpa, massages, and yoga. I've never felt more relaxed or rested than I did after this vacation. I am counting down the days until I get to return heaven on Earth, Moana Surf Resort.
• ScottNystrom1 (10/5): Magical Place - Everything's been meticulously planned at this stylish beach-front resort. Moana occupies perhaps the best location in Playa Guiones, away from busy streets but a short walk to restaurants and shopping, and with its own private path through the maritime zone to the beach. The villas and amenities (pool, yoga studio) are modern, well appointed and spotless. The owners and staff are welcoming and eager to help plan your adventures. The breakfasts are healthy and delicious. This was the second visit for our family of 5 and this time we brought along my 70-something parents. Whether you are looking for tons of surfing and other activities, just relaxation, or are somewhere in the middle (like us), Moana is a great base of operations. There's really no other place like it!
• Pryan4 (10/5): Most amazing place! - My mom and I stayed at the Moana surf resort this past week and it was absolutely perfect! The whole resort is gorgeous and relaxing, and a super quick walk to the beach via their private path. The breakfast spread each morning was delicious, I can’t say enough good things about the owners and staff! Everyone was super welcoming and friendly, and Adriana was always there to help answer any questions or book any activities. The open air yoga studio was a beautiful place to practice, and the surfing lessons were the best! I had never surfed before, but I went out everyday and Juanpa had me standing up on the board the first day. I can’t say enough good things about this place and will definitely be returning :)
