• Grancher (8/5): C'est retro, bon rapport qualité/prix - Un ryokan rétro figé mais le temps mais c'est ce que j'aime. Très bon service, très bon rapport qualité/prix. Je reviendrai ! Un petit peu poussiéreux dans certains endroits mais ça reste OK.

I always buy meal to eat in the morning and they help keep it in the frifge and recommend how to eat. The property is clean and the location is good, near metro station and convenience store. • Brenna (8/5): A cool stay, it has a rustic, 80s appeal to it. You can definitely feel the history here. Friendly staff and great bath - Friendly staff, had all amenities needed for a comfortable stay, really enjoyed the bath house. Also took advantage of the massage chair

Hot bathtub “artificial onsen”, showering in those room when no one’s around made my nights. The stuff knows really good English for anyone with communication problems. My room was a little smelly, Prehaps even dirty, and so are the hot tubs unfortunately. I think for the value of the price it’s decent

• Emanuele (9/5): - Starting with the host that was extremely nice, also the room was very cute and comfy. The whole complex looks a bit old but for the price of the room it was definitely worth it. The complex has an onsen and there's AC in every room. Additionally there's also wifi available, you just gotta ask the host! The only unusual thing for me (but it may just be like this everywhere) is that the rooms floor is extremely warm (a bit unpleasant for my likings) and humid, probably due to the women onsen nearby.

• Verified traveler (8/5): - An old-school type “business ryokan”. Overall the building is a bit worn, but I prefer Japanese style room with futon and large bath. The price is very reasonable, there is onsite parking and location was good for my purposes.

• Alena (10/5): Exceptional - I loved the japanese style room…it was very cozy. They give you yukata and towels in your room. Also hot water with instant matcha available in room. Toilets and bathroom are shared but were super clean. Bathrooms are well equipped with toiletries amd hairdryer, also a hot bath available in the bathrooms opened 24/7. Ryokan is very cozy, and it was very calm…no noise from other guests or from the street. Very near to subway station Kamimaezu and Mirai Tower reachable by walk in about 15 mins

• Eloise (7/5): Good quality price ratio for one night or two - Practical ryokan to stay at in Nagoya. The staff is nice and the location too. The ryokan is a little old school but it is well taken care of not to worry. Two real downsides though. The mattress was a little too thin to my taste, so it was not very comfortable to sleep. Also there were no curtains and we could hear the sirens from street really loudly.

• Toshiyasu (8/5): - ホテルと違い、家庭的雰囲気が気に入りました。トイレやお風呂が共同なのは、人によって使い難いかもしれませんが、これも一興と、楽しめました。朝食は別注文になりますが、伝統的な和食のセットで、どちらかといえば質素な内容ですが、おかずの品数は十分で、ご飯はお櫃にたっぷり提供されて、食べすぎてしまった程、美味しかったです。
• Alberto (8/5): Very good - The ryokan is very nice with a big traditional bathouse opened 24h and very large and comfortable rooms. The price is very low, at least compared to what I'm used to in Italy, and the staff was very nice and helpful(the owner was also worried for me when I arrived because I had told him that I would have left my luggage early in the morning but I ended up arriving at night). It's quite close to the subway station but it's far from extraurban-train stations.

• MOTOI (8/5): 必要にして十分以上のコスパ良し - 宿泊にコスパを求める人には最適解の一つでしょう。施設は古いものの、静かな環境と一人になれる部屋が提供されます。加えて24時間入れる「大浴場」には驚きました。 さらにコインランドリーもあったのですが、2台ある洗濯機も乾燥機も先客の洗い物が入りっぱなしで、事実上「使用不可」だったのが残念。洗い終わり乾燥が終わったなら早めに引き取ってもらいたいものです。

Owners are lovely, helpful and kind and they are the third generation in this business (over 70 years). Last but not least, they have the best toilet paper in Japan (not sure what the brand is, but it was really good).

• Lajos (8/5): Very good - The room has that traditional Japanese inn ambience, with a comfortable futon instead of a bed for sleeping. It is spacious enough for a single traveller. There is a communal bathroom (one for men and one for women), but every time I went for a shower or for a longer soak, there was no-one else there, and I felt I have the entire hot bath to my own. The entire inn was fairly quiet, and the rooms appear to have soundproof walls (unlike some modern hotels) - although I could hear some snoring from the next room over, the noise level was really low and not disturbing at all. Some of the carpets on the hallways look quite worn out. There appears to be no WiFi (but there is an Ethernet port in the room - bring your own Ethernet cable or even better, just use your mobile internet).

• Henry (10/5): Great service, room and location - A great room for a good price. It is a ryokan so expect a traditional Japanese straw floor room, however it was a much larger room than I expected. The service was great and the owner speaks very good English so communication was easy. Communal bathing (not mixed!) was a nice experience and clean area. For the area around the hotel, Kamimaezu Station is near the major intersection and not too far for transit. A short walk northwest will bring you to the Osu shopping district, with a large variety of shops and restaurants. North past the highway is the higher end shopping area with department stores and small malls. Generally a variety of shops and restaurants where within walking distance of Ryokan Meiryu. If you want to book a place in a great location with great service and rooms in Nagoya city, I would recommend this ryokan.

• nonitan (8/5): レトロな味わいを残した旅館 - 地下鉄の上前津駅から徒歩2-3分、高層マンションが立ち並ぶ一角にある旅館です。「昭和」の趣が残る館内、泊まった部屋はシンプルな畳の間で、住宅地のため夜は静かに過ごせました。室内にセキュリティ・ボックスもあり、Wi-Fi環境も快適でした。風呂・WCは共同ですが広いお風呂で、サウナやコインランドリーもありました。マッサージチェアがあるのはありがたかったです。ご家族で経営しているらしく、家庭的な雰囲気もありました。ご夫婦でサービスの向上に努めている様子に好感が持てました。
• Romana (8/5): - Älteres, aber sauberes Haus in unmittelbarer Nähe von Restaurants und Geschäften. Kleines, heisses Bad für Hotelgäste. Etwas Abzug gibt es für die kleinen Zimmer und die Abnützung. Dafür ist das Personal sehr hilfsbereit.
• Verified traveler (6/5): なかなか渋いお宿です。 - 和室に泊まりたくて、こちらの旅館を選びました。 地下鉄の駅から徒歩数分で、便利な立地です。 フロントの男性が、とても親切な方で、何かと気を使ってくださいました。 Wi-Fiがあり、便利です。 子供２人と私の３人で泊まったのですが、４人部屋を用意して頂き、広さは十分でした。 お風呂は男風呂と女風呂に分かれていて、２４時間入浴可能でした。 お湯の質にこだわっているようで、水回りは少々古かったけれど、快適でした。 学生の団体さんも常連宿にされているようです。 改善してほしい点がいくつかありました。 ●トイレ→男性と女性のトイレが同じドアから入るので、かなり気を使いました。 男性トイレと女性トイレの個室が隣り合わせの状態で、残念ながら、これはかなりのストレスでした。 （シャワー付トイレでしたが。） 出来れば、お風呂の近くにもトイレを設置してほしいです。 ●冷蔵庫→部屋にないので、夏場でドリンク類を沢山買っていったのですが、部屋に冷蔵庫がなく不便だった。 （フロントで預ければ、旅館の冷蔵庫で冷やしてくれます。） ●畳→きちんと掃除がしてありましたが、古いのかシミが多かった。
