- Rudy (4/5): - This is quite bad experience for me, especially since I was happy with my stay at Toyoko Inn, Osaka Namba. The difference is the staff members cannot communicate in English adequately, though they still tried their best to assist whatever you need. The other thing is that they don't have working wifi in the room, unlike what we had in the Osaka Namba property. They still provide free breakfast, albeit with less choices and in smaller dining area compared to the ones provided in Toyoko Inn, Osaka Namba. Location wise, the hotel is quite close to Shinagawa Station (5 min walk) which is quite handy if you need to travel to Haneda Airport or using Shinkansen to Kyoto / Osaka. We just stayed here on our last days in Tokyo after a week in Kyoto and Osaka. It is in perfect location since we came directly from Kyoto's Shinkansen trip and will go to Haneda soon in next few days. Shinagawa has good dining options though not as much shopping destination compared to Shinjuku or Shibuya.

I personally liked the lobby area, although it was more a dining area equipped with kitchen amenities and vending machines. My travel companions expected sofas, but I quite liked and preferred this convenient set up.

- Kaitlin (8/5): - Very good! Excellent service and incredibly convenient (less than 5 min walk to Shinagawa Station); the downside to that is you hear the trains pass every few minutes. It didn't bother us, but if you are a light sleeper ear plugs are a must. Free breakfast was wonderful. Washroom a bit tight but the room had a great layout with space to do hair and makeup (assume that is why the washroom was small). Washroom also got very stuffy very quickly from showering because it was so small. Bed and pillows hard, so it was good for our backs but a bit uncomfortable to lounge on. Only one elevator, thought that would be annoying but there didn't seem to be too many people staying when we were there so we didn't often have to wait.

- Rodney (8/5): - The one big negative for me was the bed was too hard, Was like sleeping on the floor. My back would get very sore from the hard bed... It was not comfortable at all. I could not sleep. I slept sitting on the bed with my head against the wall. That was better than trying to sleep lying on the bed. The hotel morning breakfast was wonderful... a mix of Japanese and American. The staff at the front desk was very helpful.

Free morning breakfast was fantastic, fresh croissants! soft scrambled eggs, two kinds of soups, salad, spaghetti and more. The only issue we had was the a/c was not really working properly, so it was quite warm in the room.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Intenet this time! - I stayed the week prior for 3 days and was put in a room with non-working internet. In all my 11 years of staying this change, it was the first time. The response at the front desk was "sorry." I eas not offered a different room or having it fixed. The bathroom tray and 2 plastic cups usually standard, were missing. But this last one-day trip at this same hotel, the internet worked and the bathroom tray and 2 cups were there. The staff were helpful with my luggage hold needs. I'm glad they redeemed themselves. My choice is to stay near the train station, so expect to hear the trains! In otger words, it's not totally quiet. But its location is worth the train noise "inconvenience." Love their breakfast buffet!

The rooms are on the small side and the bed and pillows were a bit hard but we were jetlagged and did not care. Many dining options nearby, as well as a small supermarket. The gowns supplied by the hotel are all the same size and very big. The breakfast area is fairly small but the selection of items is adequate. Lots of vending machines in the lobby.
