The terrace bar was not open even though it said it would be on their website. Staff was in the bar but wouldn’t serve customers. The view from the bar was a big part of why we chose the hotel. Breakfast was alright, but not worth the price. Same goes for the spa.

The restaurant is amazing, the best food in the region. The rooms smell strange, there was a lot of bleach used, clearly because of the dampness in the rooms.

- Fabienne (8/5): Vue imprenable ! - L'emplacement est incontestablement le point fort de cet hôtel-restaurant. Vue imprenable sur le lac et les montagnes au milieu du vignoble du Lavaux. Le personnel est très accueillant, notre chambre spacieuse était bien équipée avec une terrasse. Certes il y a la route qui peut faire un peu de bruit mais c'est surtout en journée. Nous n'avons pas testé le SPA car nous ne venions pas pour ça mais il faut savoir que c'est payant, ainsi que le fitness. Nous n'avons pas non plus profité du petit déjeuner mais par contre le bar et restaurant le Deck est incontournable. Un lit trop mou pour nous. Pas de peignoirs ce qui aurait été agréable même sans aller au SPA. 4 capsules pour le café auraient été appréciées mais probablement que nous aurions pu demander.

- Cynthia (7/5): Escapade très agréable. - Les paysages et le lieu sont magnifiques. L'hôtel et le restaurant sont jolis et la terrasse du Deck offre une vue incroyable ! Nous avons vraiment très bien mangé samedi soir et le petit-déjeuner était complet. Nous avions peu de lumière dans la chambre et une ampoule ne fonctionnait pas. De plus, il fallait faire attention avec le robinet de la salle de bains car il gouttait. En ce qui concerne l'accueil au SPA, dommage qu'il n'y avait personne pour nous accueillir. Heureusement que la réceptionniste nous avait bien informés.

- Christevie (10/5): - L’hôtel est magnifique, bien situé avec belle vue. La chambre avec vue sur forêt est grande et bien espacé. La salle de bain est magnifique et la douche avec les pierres sur le sol rajoute un petit côté luxe. On entend pas le bruit des voisins ni les femmes de ménage dans le couloir le matin. Le personnel est adorable, ils nous ont donné la possibilité de prolonger 1h de plus. Le balcon est grand. C’est noté que c’est un grand lit double mais malheureusement c’est pas un grand matelas. C’est deux matelas collé. Et dommage que ça ne soit pas une smartTV

- Yobdar (8/5): - The location, near to train and bus stops, overlooking the vineyards and lake is just spectacular. The spa and the restaurant Le Deck are the best things about the hotel; spa is small but well managed. The restaurant is out of this world, excellent food and wine quality and very friendly and accommodative staff. The little villages of Puidoux and Chexbres are fun to walk around and explore. Everyone is super friendly! The standard room is very, very small. I think the hotel would be more enjoyable in warmer months when one could really enjoy the balcony. There's a funny smell in the room too so if your sensitive, bring your favourite scents / air freshener (!)
- Kerry (7/5): Beautiful rooms, attentive staff, and a lovely spa, but an unexpected pet fee dampened the stay. - Our stay at Baron Tavernier Hotel Restaurant & SPA was largely excellent. We loved our room, and the staff were genuinely lovely to work with, providing very attentive and responsive service. When we discovered that the safe in our room would not allow us to set a code before locking, staff came up promptly and resolved the issue without hesitation. The spa was beautiful, and the facilities were well maintained and relaxing. There is a separate charge for the spa, which was clearly communicated and reasonable in principle. It operates more like an independent facility on the property and, at 15 CHF per person per hour, felt a bit pricey, but overall it was quite nice and something I would recommend. We also appreciated the ample free parking, which made arrival and departure very easy. Unfortunately, the main downside was a very unexpected charge for our dog. We were charged 50 CHF per night, a fee that was not visible when booking through Booking.com or mentioned until we were checking out. I later confirmed that this charge is listed on the hotel’s own website, but it was not disclosed on Booking.com at the time of booking. We travel with our dog frequently, and I stay in hotels and B&Bs more than 100 nights per year, and I have never encountered a pet fee at this level, especially one charged per night and without any incidents (the dog didn't leave a trace of being there). This came as a surprise at checkout and unfortunately put a significant damper on what had otherwise been a very enjoyable stay, as it was our final impression before leaving. Overall, the hotel, staff, and facilities were wonderful, but clearer disclosure of pet fees on third party booking platforms would greatly improve the guest experience. 50 CHF per night pet fee.
