Guest Reviews
- Gregg (6/5): - Perfectly adequate for the money, parking, kitchen, shop downstairs, no palace but perfectly fine if on a budget...
Make sure you haveID cos they were very strict with that
- Deborah (8/5): - Nice staff, nice room with kettle and ensuite shower. We are in our 3rd week as it is a reasonable price.
- Deborah (8/5): - Asked for a different room as asthmatic and winfoe is above petrol pumps ,one week leter nobody has helped.
Reasonable price ,nice cleaners but vleaning room is only once a week not daily as advertised.Terrible smell from the communal kitchen
- Ifeoma (2/5): - This is the work hotel i have been in, in my lifetime. It shouldn't be approved, its directly on top a filling station. It had mould in bathroom, I could not shower, the toilet was smelling badly, even flushing didnt take smell away. Staff said they dont handle cleaning, ask website for a refund.
- Leeann (2/5): Terrible stay - Room was extremely tiny.. no working telly for the first two days, after was promised to be replaced on first day, no refreshments in room, promised refund never received.. owner or manager refused to pick up the phone to receive complaint despite polite requests .. WILL DEFINITELY NOT STAY AGAIN
- Waheed (10/5): - Environment
- Adam (10/5): Perfect - Started with a warm and friendly welcome from the staff who showed me the room.
Room is fine for short stays, it's a little rough around the edges but clean and tidy and certainly good value. Note there is no tea or coffee provided but there is a kettle and shop next door so not a problem.
Would recommend it for it's excellent value!
- Ifeanyi (10/5): - My stay was amazing.
- Waheed (6/5): - You can improve more by putting blinds and n your window
- Paul (8/5): - Good value
- Simon (2/5): - Putting it blunt full of junkies who didn't need to get up for work .so inconsiderate when it came to banging a bout in and out all night struggled to sleep for obvious reasons, so its fair to say wont be staying again
- Reginald (6/5): - Room was clean, no curtains, so streetlights at night and daylight at sillyoclock. Kettle with 2 cups, but nothing to put in them, so cold or hot water!!!
- Verified traveler (4/5): Very poor. - Arrived on the Friday. The door lock is backwards so did find it difficult to open at first. The room was small which we could have got over but there was stuff stuck to the back of the door, random screw in the wall with no purpose, some kind of mould in corner or leak, extention lead in bathroom next to sink, kettle and cups but unfortunately no tea or coffee etc. There was no controller for the t.v so as i hunted around the t.v for a button it gave me an electric shock that even my friend heard from the otherside of the small room.
The walls are soo thin that if a neighbouring room talks you feel like youre in the same room and on the website these rooms were advertised as soundproof. The hotel was also supposes to offer house keeping which didnt come so we had to go out and buy toilet roll just to last.
The main door that has large gaps all the way around that allows the hallway sensor light flood into the room which was also broken as it just kept flicking in and off all night. Our neighbours were very noisy, there was alot of slamming doors and it ruined our stay and had to drive home early Sunday morning, missing the final night of the stadium weekender due to lack of sleep and worrying about driving home later that night.
Only positive is its reasonably close to everything around. All under 10 minute drive to Town. Stadium. Supermarkets. Fastfood etc
Unfortunately Scunthorpe doesnt have much to offer
- David (8/5): Cheap and cheerful - Cheap and cheerful
- Oluwole (8/5): Good - It was a nice place to stay
- Steven (8/5): Not bad for £41 - Not bad at all for the price - double bed with en-suite, working tele and kettle :) only thing letting it down is no coffee/sugar/milk, but now I know for next time
- Shobhamaben (10/5): - Very good
- Ryan (2/5): Wow - The room was cold the pillows was shocking when we arrived we had paid and turned away, we then was told we had a room and was taken to it, oh and also the tv didn’t work so we had no entertainment all night! The decorating was all ruined.
- Angus (2/5): Unable to obtain a refund. - I arrived having driven 420miles to arrange my mother’s funeral who lived local. When I arrived at the motel I was told my booking should never have been accepted due to renovations being undertaken.
Still awaiting a refund, hotels.com have been unable to contact the hotel to clarify as they are not picking up the phone!
Guess my payment has gone into someone’s pocket.
No apology given or recommendation for alternative accommodation given by staff at hotel.
- Dawn (2/5): Shocking - Didn't get to stay. Arrived to be told that they had told all booking companies not to book this weekend and I'd get a full refund. No thought to what I was going to do .
- Sally (2/5): Awful service. - I wasnt allowed to chexk in as i didnt have my passport or driving licence with me.
Showed them the email with my booking details on along with my disability bus pass on which shows my picture on.
Trying to get refund back
- Nigel (8/5): - Only needed this stay as a bolthole, to visit family and friends, and on that level it was fine and serviceable...and a great quick price. Will be using again, for same purpose, soon.
- Dudley (10/5): No frills but good - Good basic accommodation. Friendly helpful staff . Rooms clean and tidy
- Joel (10/5): - I do like everything nice room
- Nicola (10/5): Silent night - Everything you need in a lovely room, fantastic helpful host's and despite being full a very silent night, just what i needed
- Claire (8/5): Good value - Hotel was warm and dry, shower was warm. TV didn't work but to tired to want to watch more than news and did on phone. Plug sockets worked to allow me to charge phone.
Overall a safe, warm place to rest.
- Gillian (8/5): - Only stayed one night room was clean and comfortable
- Dawn (10/5): 2 night stay - As alway the room was very clean. Tv worked. Bathroom very clean. Water hot and Tv worked. Only problem I ever have is getting the door to unlock and lock but I alway manage it eventually. I was even given the WiFi password this time
- shafia (2/5): - noisy
- Simon (2/5): - No working tv again and no hot water this time
- Kayleigh (2/5): - Didnt have photo i.d so they wouldnt even let me in the property. I would like a refund
- Simon (4/5): - The place is ok but every time the Tv doesn’t work in the rooms
- Simon (4/5): - Every time stayed tv doesn’t work
- Sam (10/5): - All good
- Dawn (10/5): - Once again I was happy with my stay. The room was very clean.Bed clean. TV worked.very satisfied
- Simon (2/5): - Stayed there a lot and every time get a room with Tv stuck on one channel not very good really
- Simon (10/5): - Safe
- Simon (10/5): - Safe and quiet
- Dawn (10/5): - The room was exceptionally clean. No issues at all. Will be staying here again
- Karl (4/5): - Front door didnt close properly, once in the room it was dated, with chunks of plater missing out the wall and overall very dirty looking.
- Israel (10/5): Very good - Very comfortable and convenient, especially for the price.
Was very pleased with the place. Only complaint was my friends door wouldn’t open for close properly, had to fight the door every time we came back.
- Martin (10/5): - Its great cooking for long stay clean tidey great staff
- Abiodun (2/5): - unfriendly
- raymond (2/5): doss house - The room stank the bedding was all screwed up and needed a good wash, no proper heating, blinds didn't work properly, the passage way was filthy, it was that uncomfortable and disgusting we left the next morning we would not recommend the motel to anyone
- Chris (2/5): - There is no hot water and the heater in the room is not working.
It was cheap and cheerful and I got just that and worst.
- Martyn (2/5): - Had to leave at midnight as i couldnt get any sleep as there must have been a party going on in one of the rooms , slept in my car , not a good experience and a waste of money to be honest
- Jackie (2/5): - No reception area. No hot water in the tap. No tea and coffee for facilities. Walls dirty and carpet torn and frayed..
- stuart (6/5): - Good value and secure but not properly cleaned as a used razor was left in the shower
- Beth (10/5): Very lovely, pleasant surprise - The place was very clean, had a lovely clean smell as soon as you walk through the door. Nice to see a kettle with mugs and spoons in the room even though there is a shared kitchen. Room was very clean and bed was extremely comfy - check in was in the petrol station which was a new thing to me and although I thought that might mean complications it was actually a very easy and friendly check in.
The petrol station is very similar to a premier corner shop so you have a variety of drinks, snacks, chilled and frozen food.
The only negative was that the kitchen had no forks however had plenty of spoons and knives so might just have been that other people staying were using them at the time
- Dawn (10/5): As expected - Everything was OK. Didn't have my booking but the boss was phoned and it was sorted. Tv wasn't working so they put me in another room.
- Dawn (10/5): 2 night stay - Once again my 2 night stay had no problems. The room was clean. It had a en suite which was spotless. Will be staying again
- Angela (10/5): - Nice shared kitchen and lovely staff
- Lee (10/5): Well appointed - Nice shared kichen with microwave, oven and hob
- Daniel (10/5): - All good 👌
- Alan (10/5): - Quick check in. Perfectly described. Will be staying again
- Kevin (6/5): - Would have been nice to have tea or coffee in the rooms. The room was clean and comfortable.
- F. (2/5): Dreadful place- avoid - I arrived and no one was there. I hadn’t picked that up from the website I booked on- hotel.com. It has a ‘reception in an attached petrol station and closes at 9pm.
I had just driven from Gatwick. There was no answer on the phone number and hotel. Com were unable to help after multiple calls where they left me holding and then rang off. After driving round until midnight I finally got the last room at Travelodge.
- Angela (8/5): OK - The stay was definitely satisfactory for the price. The only issue was the description didnt match the facilities supposedly provided. Which wouldn't have been a problem if we had been aware i.e. no glasses or tea coffee facilities
- Nicola (6/5): - There were people asking us for money when we visited the connubial kitchen area and a cleaner came in early on the first morning asking if there’s anything we would like whilst we were still in bed…not idea for a 2 night stay I wouldn’t expect the room to be cleaned and the people staying there need to be kept an eye on as they were the same ones leaving the main key coded door open all the time too which is a security risk. We didn’t feel overly safe to be honest but the room was fine for the price and the location ideal.
- Russell (4/5): - It is a budget motel on a petrol station forecourt, with some rooms being located above the petrol station shop.
A large number of rooms have long term residents, instead of overnight guests (like us).
It is not a place I would stay again.
It was very cheap, so I suppose you cannot expect too much.
The shower OK, but the general cleanliness was not great. Toilet was actually loose.
The bedding looked clean, but was very creased, so couldn’t guarantee it was not left from the last occupancy.
The beds were very cheap and uncomfortable.
All in all, it was a bed for the night, but I wouldn’t go back if you paid me to stay there.
- Julijonas (10/5): - Was good room clean
- Dawn (8/5): Will come back - I was really upset when I got their after travelling far. I was told without a driving licence or passport I could not stay. Lucky I had a picture of my driving licence to which they took a picture. It did NOT state on the website I need anything like that. I did have cards which had photo I’d but they were not good enough. Really upset to begin with. The tv did not with in the first room, however we was moved rooms which was a lot better. I will go back an stay just need to inform people of the photo I’d eg passport or driving licence as I was told.
- Leason (8/5): Business - Good for what I needed close to town centre and motorway
- Maureen (10/5): - Stop there for a nite it was ok would go back
- Adrian (10/5): - It was good, thanks 😊
- Mark (8/5): - It's clean, decent and does what it says on the tin. Downside is the noise. Doors banging. Apart from that not a problem
- Verified traveler (10/5): - For the price these rooms are spot on nice clean amd fresh
- Verified traveler (2/5): Stay well clear - Never again. Only cost £35 but that was £34.99 too much.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - We waiting for keys too long and the towel were damp and bedroom poor sake surprise the kitchen not clean
- Joanne (2/5): - Room not booked, had to have double as no twin left
- Barbara (4/5): - The room was OK, but smells really bad of cigarette smoke. This is not acceptable and illegal. Otherwise, not bad for the money.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The room smelt stronglynof cigarette smoke.the linen smelt of cigarette smoke. The smoke detector had been pulled apart (dangerous). Staff were not on hand tonhelp out with exception of cleaning lady next morning - she was the most helpful. Overall poor- would not go back there and would not recommend.
- Michael Grimbleby (10/5): - Room was clean and tidy and conveniently located near motorway
- Verified traveler (2/5): No Wi-fi, awful kitchen, cold rooms - not good at all, paid extra for the deluxe room and had no wi-fi, oven doesn’t work, no microwave (which was apparently stolen), no pots and pans to cook with. Complained about the wi-fi to the reception and she was very unhelpful, didn’t offer any solution or money back. 10/10 would not recommend staying in Kirks Korner
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Non smoking room smells of smoke inadequate heating rooms cold and electric shower was broke
- ABDUL RASHID (8/5): - Needs improvement in the kitchen. Better heating or insulation required in view of oncoming wintery weather.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Scary, Scary, Scary! - The rooms are freshly and nicely decorated. The price was fantastic. However unfortunately there were many let downs. When we arrived it took over 20 mins to check in as they had no record of our reservation. We were given the wrong code for the door so when we returned to the motel in the middle of a cold night we were locked out with all of our belongings inside. Luckily and embarrassingly we had to knock up a fellow guest who let us into the building. To top it all off from around 5.30am there was a man who was suffering from some mental illness banging on the door of the hotel from the inside, threatening guests and passers by and telling them to die. He gave us the same warm welcome later on when we checked out, and made a threatening gesture towards us involving a gun (his hand) to the head. When we returned our keys and told the staff we were told he has been staying there for weeks and the police are aware, but neither party had seen fit to remove him from the motel.
- Don (2/5): - Located at a petrol station.and very basic and cold
- Raj (4/5): Night Sleep😡😡😡🙈 - Fighting in the corridor in the night and no staff turned up.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Motel was nice and presentable. However my room was meant to be a double and it was a three quarter bed and the springs I could feel through the mattress, in the end I ended up having a sleep in my car as it was more comfortable.
I left after the first night and told a staff member about my visit. I was told I was to be called the next day and a refund was to be given .
Still no phone call.
- Michael (2/5): Stay Away! Rude Manager. Double booked us! - I booked a room for one of our employees, he turned up with a screen of the booking which displayed his booking number and they informed him that they had no reservation, they were fully booked and even though we have paid for the room they refused to give us the money back. Called the manager and he was downright rude on the phone.
- Farhaj (10/5): Excellent stay - Very good enjoyable stay
Big room
Great shower
Comfortable 🛏
Clean
Lots of towels
Tea making facilities
Sockets near the bed! Not other side of the room
One of the best hotels i stayed in,on my work journeys
- Verified traveler (8/5): Decent place for the price - Very thin walls/ceilings - you can hear the other guests chatting etc. No seat in the room so can't really use the desk, has a kitchen where you can heat up food if you need to.
Local pub/restaurant just across the road with good quality food at a reasonable price.
