Anthony was helpful and responsive in getting us a second set of keys and extra towels. The Lifetime Club next door was convenient and had very nice facilities; really enjoyed the lap pool (recreational pool is closed, under construction). Loved having the jetted tub in our room. Our room (Portofino) was spacious and comfortable. Keurig coffee pot in room with several pods. Wifi was good and easy to use. Onsite parking included (one space per room). No hairdryer in room! Might be able to request one but I didn't have time. No mini fridge or microwave, no source of ice available. Shower and sink are VERY slow draining, need unplugging. TV did not have a way for us to plug in our Roku stick and/or watch anything other than Pluto TV or someone else's (previous guest's?) Netflix account. No breakfast; apparently it's no longer offered, though they have a nice dining room on site. Bathroom (tub, sink and shower) is open to the bedroom with just a toilet closet having a door; I prefer more privacy in the bathroom.
- Gaius (2/5): Beautiful surroundings. Horrible customer service! - The setting is lovely. The bathroom is almost a work of art. One problem was that the shower wouldn’t work unless the electric LIGHT inside the shower controls the water for the shower! No instructions… sheer happenstance I could it worked that way. The “innkeeper “ is not available for any help. He is only available between 8:00am and 4:00pm. No information is left in the room about anything. Specifically I wanted to know about breakfast the next morning. Apparently on their website it says they are temporarily not serving breakfast. The Bookings.com website says they do. I called and sent emails to the “innkeeper “ who finally responded at 8:30 the following morning. Very very poor service. When I suggested that our room rates should be changed since breakfast was not included, he responded that we already had a discounted room rate. We were the ONLY people in the place. No wonder. The service is like staying in a bewitched castle. No help anywhere!

There was no self service breakfast set up in the dining room. No compensation. Not even a gift card to a Starbucks or Noah’s Bagels. Nothing. The electrical outlets didn’t work in the bathroom. The handheld shower was broken. Carpet was torn. A pretty room but a very tired room. Needs a face lift

My husband and I plan to return on our next visit to Sacramento. The contactless check in was seamless and easy. The Inn keeper was genuinely kind and did an excellent job with communication!

Nothing. Loved everything about this place.

- Verified traveler (2/5): Unprofessional hotel service - Terrible guest service with keeper not answering to emergency calls or after hours until the following days; plumbing issues in the condo where shower stall doesn’t drain for 45 minutes and neighbors have to complaint that they are being affected by the water pouring through the ceiling through their electrical system. Overpriced property for the amount of the money paid. No food service at the “resort” and key locks are dated and don’t work well. Motel 6 has a better service than this “resort”.

- Tiffany (6/5): Transitioning time for Arden Hills - This hotel is in major transition with the recent purchase by Lifetime. There is construction and there is no food/beverage and no room services. The fitness center is across the street with a pool and great workout area open 7am-7pm. The room was clean and quiet.

I notified management of some disrepair we found within the room after leaving they said they would take care of it. My understanding was this was a bed and breakfast - breakfast ended up being lackluster - defrosted pastries and muffins with a few cups of yogurt left out. Issues within the room and the disappointment at breakfast left me feeling that the value wasn't there for the cost.

Landscape not maintained, fountains did not operate and were green with algae. Decietful advertising. Indoors impressive layout, beautiful, but functionally in very poor shape.

The villa was quiet and the room was welcoming. The jacuzzi bathtub was the highlight of the trip for my son. Most of our 4 night stay we were the only guests. Beware that the property is undergoing new ownership and all amenities including breakfast are currently unavailable. No hot breakfast option, only cold pastries left out for morning, no breakfast staff, room only cleaned upon phone request, no staff on site at all not even for check-in. No family friendly options as advertised, not a great place to stay with kids.

First morning, there was no creamer for coffee. I would have liked option of decaf coffee. All parking spots were taken when we returned from dinner after 10pm , so I had to move the cones and park on the side near the airstream trailer. Was apparently okay, so all was good.

The room was so dark, dark paneling, dim lighting, Mold around the trim in the shower. Poor internet, no tv. The area is beautiful, maybe the cabins are better, but the motel needs updated. The staff was friendly and helpful.
- Verified traveler (6/5): Loud and charged for no reason - The room was beautiful, however the building is very old. Some guests are very inconsiderate. I was kept all night by another guest staying who was in the lobby shouting talking to someone all hours of the night. Which echoed straight to all the rooms. Also, have an unknown charge place to my card from Arden hills and have not heard back from anyone at the resort.
- Jackson (6/5): - No customer service at all. 110 degrees in Sacramento day I checked out. 11 am out I left facility. Tried waiting in my car while my son took important 8 hour exam. Overheating. I returned to hotel Requested to jump in pool at 1 pm as I was experiencing heat exhaustion. Denied by manager explicitly. Though I spent over $800 for one night stay. 2 separate rooms. 1 for son. One for me. Still appalled by how treated. NEVER AGAIN
- Michelle (4/5): - Was pretty disappointed with my stay. I showed up at 2pm and was told the room wasn’t ready, which I understand because it did say 3pm check in. I asked if I could sit and wait at the restaurant. Was told I was not allowed into the restaurant because I was not a “member” or checked in yet so I pretty much had to leave the property and go wait elsewhere. So I got back in my car, left, and I eventually got my room around 3:30. It was a very outdated room and there was no made to order breakfast like it stated. The pool was nice but I only had a few hours to enjoy it because it closed fairly early and I had to be checked out by 11am. After 11am, you again cannot use the pool or go to the restaurant unless you are a “member”. The place was empty and I don’t understand why they treat their guests like that and turn away business. For a place that acts “exclusive”, it was mediocre at best. I went to the spa the next day. The facial was great, but there wasn’t much to the facility. No pool. No drinks. No really anything to add to that “spa” experience. Even when spending a high price on spa services, you cannot access the rest of the property without being a “member”.

- Jake (10/5): Beautiful Property - We only stayed for one night, as we were in town for a friends pool party down the street. Check in was easy. Staff was friendly. We wish we could have spent a full day at the facilities, as the pool and sports area, and facilities were quite lovely. We enjoyed our free breakfast at the restaurant near the pools. We would definitely stay here again for a weekend trip to enjoy the property. Bed was comfortable, room was clean.

There was coffee spill stains on the front entrance cabinet door. the beds are comfortable and the sheets were super soft and clean. We stayed in the Barcelona room and it was very quiet. There should have been a safe in the room to allow guests to lock up their valuables. Also, we have to request for the coffee machine as it was not in the room when we checked in.

I told them in advance that my flight didn’t arrive until late at night, they said they would accommodate it, but when I got to the hotel, I was outside locked out for 20 minutes and I kept calling and no one answered. I ended up waking up a neighbor to help me. My recommendation is for them to figure out an alternative late checkin procedure.

The bathtub was nice. Not a washcloth to be found. Good thing I bring my own. I was disappointed.

No one really told us about the private club that was the main facility. The breakfast was awesome and the woman who made the food and served it was wonderful; charming, accommodating and a good cook! The stairs up to the room at the villa were outrageous. who could drag their suitcases up them! Fortunately we had one large suitcase and dragged it up. when we left we almost literally let it slide down. parking spaces were for compacts. what’s with the concrete separators??

- Deborah (6/5): - It was a really mixed bag. My room was lovely and comfortable. But Arden Hills is mainly a country club, not a hotel, and the customer service and guest amenities/experience are clearly not the priorities. Check in involved two different buildings hauling luggage around and up and down stairs. Restaurant service was inattentive and very slow, but the food tasted good. I was unable to negotiate the ability to stay on the property (not the room) past my check out time, though I also had a massage booked and in all was spending $500 in room, meals, and services. I was just looking for a place to stay before my late flight. There are acres of property and multiple pools with many many places to sit and relax, but the young desk attendants were “technically” unable to accommodate me though I asked twice. When I asked to speak with a manager, there was never one available (not on either day) and when I asked for a manager to call me, it never happened so I eventually gave up. Included breakfast was a huge disappointment — poor quality baked goods and a little bit of fruit. No attendant or anyone tidying the breakfast area. No help with luggage or anything else offered and many stairs. Massage and spa experience were excellent. All in all, it was ok but I will not be back.

Nothing worked in the room, there was broken glass on top of the fireplace, the mirrors were dusty, the handle in the shower did not stay on, the jets in the jacuzzi didn't work, there was a beeping coming from the fireplace. Tried to call the front desk at 6 pm, just after checking in to find out they closed at 5pm. We walked around the property until we found a staff member who came back to the room to turn off the beeping but were then informed we would not be able to use the fireplace. The hvac system did not work, so while sleeping it was freezing. There is a $7.99 charge added to your total for using a debit card to pay that you are not informed of.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - This place was like a true Villa in Italy somewhere! It was very nice but Arden Hills needs to upgrade their mattresses. The bed almost ruined our messages from Dulce Vita. For breakfast Chef Byron makes the most delicious frittata and omelette with the freshest of vegetables!! He’s very professional and kind. It was an amazing dining experience. For as much as you pay for a room the least the resort can do is make sure the beds are comfortable.
- Robert (10/5): Moms getaway dream - I was in desperate need of a mom getaway. This place is definitely the place to go for that. I enjoyed the massage, quiet room. Tub with jets was so relaxing! Bed was beyond comfortable with all the pillows a girl could dream of!
- Teddi (8/5): Room needs updating but good food and service - The service here was really good, we ate at the restaurant and the food was delicious, everyone was accommodating, and the breakfast was prepared by an on-site chef for the villas. The negatives: the bed was really loud and sounded like I was laying on plastic, the water pressure in the shower was lacking, the hot water went out a few times, there isn’t a fridge in the room, and the doors are ridiculously hard to figure out. The one downside was that the facilities closed at 7 so I couldn’t go to the hot tub. I think I would choose a regular hotel next time.

- Gita (8/5): - The property is beautiful, the grounds are amazing and I don’t think there are better accommodations in Sacramento. The Villa could be easily a 5 star bed and breakfast if the management just updated few minor details to freshen up the rooms. Overall wonderful experience.
- James (10/5): Quick Business Trip to Sacramento - Excellent front desk help. The rooms are beautiful. Top of the line materials when the place was built and the materials have held up well thru the years. You will feel like you are staying at Villa in the South of France.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Old world charm - Beautiful grounds, impressive facility, old world charm in the Villa. The room was spacious and charming. Bathroom amenities were top notch. Whomever planned this room had great attention to details. Looks like the walls were hand plastered...a lost art.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - This was such a disappointment. The property was evidently once quite luxurious, but it is in dire need of updating. Everything in the room was either dilapidated or malfunctioning. Even the property amenities were dated. The outdoor hot tub was broken. The restaurant/bar area was always closed. And there is nothing within walking distance to go to. In the room, the space tub would continue to randomly cycle on all day and night. The toilet was broken, the fireplace would not start, the carpets were grimy, the shower door would not completely close and the entire spout would pull from the wall when you try to turn the water on.
- Tams (6/5): - Check in was difficult as there is no one to greet you at the actual bed and breakfast. The concierge is in a whole other building but there is no signage pointing to where they are. I had to call the phone tree and wait to be told I needed to leave the bed and breakfast and walk with my suitcases across the parking lot. Parking is difficult as the spots are very small and require several rights turns to get into. Fireplace in the room didn’t work. Tub leaked. Walls had many paint scuff and large holes behind the headboards. Just felt run down. When we gave our feedback on the fireplace and how we ultimately figured out how to manually turn it on, the staff seemed irritated and curt.
- Tracey (10/5): Crampton wedding - Stayed in the Villa for my cousins wedding. Family had all 5 five rooms. Staff was great and very helpful. The breakfast that is served was awesome! Great job Chef!
- ANDREW (6/5): - See the nice beautiful bar/lounge pictured in the listing? Its not always open! Not the end of the world, but when traveling, I like to "land" at the end of the day and had to venture back out for food. Somewhat disappointing.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This resort is a total deal! You get a large, lovely room with a jacuzzi tub, plus a complimentary full service breakfast each morning of your stay. The grounds were lovely with trees, flowers, pools, courts, etc. The staff was warm and helpful. My only complaint was that they couldn't fit me into the spa on a Wednesday..at all :/ I would highly recommend this site.

It took 3 minutes walk to the villa From the front desk. The yard was dark,. It’s hard to find the way. Room is clean, no refrigerator.
- JOHN (10/5): Great spot for a getaway - Beautiful inn with well appointed rooms. The fireplace was lovely during the cool evening. We enjoyed the cook to order full breakfast and the personal service. Access to the spa and pool area is a true pleasure. A wonderful adult getaway
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We stayed in the Portofino room which was stunning. The bed was roomy but very hard and uncomfortable. The room was clean and had all that we needed. We walked around the property and utilized the gym facilities which were also awesome. We will definitely stay here again!
- Holly (10/5): - We arrived late after the check-in time. The staff at the front made sure to give me the number to security who had my keys and paperwork to check-in. It made it extremely nice ! The Valencia room was beautiful! It has a jacuzzi tub separating the bathroom area from the living space! The balcony and extra space is well worth the extra $30 from the La Topaz room. The only down fall was we couldn’t get the fireplace to turn on. Overall the check in after hours was amazing. Tomorrow we will attend the breakfast and check out the multiple pools and basketball court. It’s beautiful here! We will for sure be coming back!

- Verified traveler (10/5): - We stayed in the garden suite at the villas and it was absolutely amazing. The massive shower room and fireplace were perfect for a cool, rainy day. Breakfast by Chef Jerry was the perfect complement. His service was awesome and the food was absolutely delicious from start to finish. Hopefully we'll be back!!!
