- Trail32550733020 (2/5): Car Parking Scam - Decided to stop at the Loch Lomond Arms for a quick bite to eat but as there was nothing on the menu that we fancied we decided to move on. We were in the car park 15 minutes. At no time did any member of staff advise us that if we didn't register our car at the terminal in reception we would receive a parking fine of £60. WHAT A SCAM. Will never be back and advise all customers to avoid Luss Car Park and make your own judgement about a hotel that manages parking by hosting the register terminal at their reception and then does not at least warn patrons of the parking rules.

- gillian (6/5): March Visit - Beautiful location in Luss Village. Very cosy room, super comfy bed & amazing shower. Breakfast was reallt good, varied chouce,hot food cooked to order. Our meal in evening was just ok. The staff seemed disinterested and had to ask to order/chase up drinks several times. Couple times plates abd cutlery were just thrown down on table. We think we are quite friendly people, but there waa no chat and we just felt we were in the way/had done sometjimg wrong. My duck main delicioys, but partners steak very thin and overcooked. Meal was expensive so exoected more.

- Madamecholey (4/5): Underwhelming. - An underwhelming experience in a Loch Lomond cottage overlooking a car park. The cottage was tired, the beds deeply uncomfortable, as was the sofa in the sitting room. The heating in the cottage was sporadic, sometimes too hot, sometimes too cold, sometimes nothing at all. No bath, and a shower with not much power. No offer of clean towels (had to ask), half a roll of loo roll (had to ask for more). The cottages (due to the A road between the cottages and the hotel) don't feel part of the Loch Lomond Arms, more of an afterthought rather than part of the overall experience. Dangerous and very busy A road to cross in order to get to Luss and the Loch itself. Wardrobes too old to hang up dresses or suits properly, with one of the bedrooms having no hanging space at all. The kitchen is fairly well equipped, although the oven and hob have seen better days. I'd say the cottage was of a 'bare minimum' standard. The bedding was clean, but the duvet was thin and old, and the mattress needs replacing. For those over the age of 25, you might want to consider an alternative for a good night's sleep. Cleanliness is good at move-in, but there are no signs of cleaning or fresh linens beyond check-in. Food in the hotel itself was good, although not as good as

There should be traffic lights/zebra crossing/bridge to access the hotel, in my opinion. I felt the road was a dangerous crossing with young children.

- Q6554FGsamk (10/5): A treasured place to stay in Loch Lomand - We enjoyed a memorable and special stay in the Riversedge Suite during Hogmany. I'm not sure that there are any other places that could compete, a real wood fire, beautifully furnished, the stream at the side is quite a delight, whilst having all the conveniences of being part of the larger hotel. The cottages are a short stroll away from all the features of Luss, which is stunning in itself. We need to make a particular mention to the hotel manager and staff who went above and beyond to address any issues we had. Even when our little boy lost his coat, they were so kind as to help with shipping it back to us, it's just arrived, thank you Loch Lomand Arms!

Whilst we watched other people arrive after us, be served enjoy their drink and starter before our food order had been taken. we would be very reluctant book to dine in the Restaurant again, because of this.

- Emmanuelle (9/5): Beautiful and charming hotel and pub. What you want when you go on a nice getaway in the highlands (in Scotland). - Very cosy and charming pub / hotel with wonderful fireplaces. Staff were very welcoming and professional / great service and warm. Food and wine were really good quality and the oysters were delicious. Rooms should be refursbished to make it look just a bit more neater and modern.

There was no opportunity to mix with residents as the imperative was to have meal covers. There was no lunch time menu like sandwiches and baked potatoes. No one knew our name in a 4-day stay. The Xmas lunch was a bland catering pack and after 4-hours seated we had no where to go other than our bedroom that had no table or chairs. This because the resident supposed library was taken up for meals. Also that library was taken up in our stay for visiting diners who wanted a drink afterwards. I now no why the staff persisted in asking for my Xmas menu (non refundable) over a month before. Had I known I was paying well over £1,200 for this dismissive stay, I would have cancelled.

It's a shame to read some of the bad reviews. Don't let it put you off. The menu options were great. I hate a big menu with loads of options. Quality over quality always Out waiter Ben was exceptional, attentive and a credit to the restaurant. I hope he shows his Mum this review. She should be super proud Thanks for a lovely meal.

- Smudgie_3 (4/5): Disappointing night’s stay - We had visited this hotel for dinner over many years, and decided to mark a special occasion by staying overnight in a four poster room which looked lovely, and was, until sadly a very bright green light shone on us and on the walls from the ceiling all night, keeping us awake, together with an intermittent deep vibrating noise that seemed to come from a room below. We didn’t sleep due to the light and noise, and did speak to reception about this.

Room was well appointed, good linen on the bed, nice bathroom but shower head a little low for 6ft person. I liked it overall. However I had to go out to the car to retrieve something after dark, and there was no lighting at all. And as the car park was gravel and a bit rutted it was a very uncomfortable walk to and from the hotel. I saw the lights the next morning, so there are some provided, just not lit??!!

- barnowl5 (2/5): Shockingly bad food and service. Don’t do it! - A truly awful experience. The only thing we could pick off the menu was burgers. Choice was niche and limited for the average restaurant goer. Would have had the fish and chips but we had it the day before. The service by this young woman with dark hair was spectacularly disingenuous. She managed to serve us last despite requesting things like food or the bill before other tables she was serving. The burgers were out of a packet with frozen chips and were dry and tasteless. We paid £50 for two soft drinks and the burger and chips. Utter rip off. It ruined a lovely trip to Loch Lomond. Needless to say, we won’t be returning anytime this millennia.

Right on the doorstep of the famous Luss homes. Book here ..... you will not regret it. There was nothing i disliked.

- JimCrewe (10/5): Great 4 Night Stay in Cottages. - We stayed in one of their cottages for a four night stay. We had a great time. The cottages are a short walk from the hotel and are very well furnished and with plenty of utensils. We could not fault it.

Just loved it! The shower system is a bit cumbersome. We had water pouring out of the break in the 2 glass sections. Once we figured out how the gaskets needed to be, it was all sorted.

The staff were friendly and the service was efficient. Based on the facilities, and overall standard of the room, the price was a little high. There was no space in the room to hang coats / walking gear, especially when wet. There was a very limited vegetarian selection in the restaurant.

However shortly after my isit I received a parking ticket for £60 as I hadn't registered my car registration in the hotel. I had not seen signs and no member of staff told me about this arrangement. - J_HFife (8/5): Great venue - Attended family wedding in beautiful Luss. The hotel really did a great job in making sure the event went well despite the inclement weather ! Kitty was super efficient at keeping momentum behind the day. The function room was excellent and fit for purpose with the terrace being excellent when the sun did come out. The food was excellent and plentiful for the wedding meal and breakfast. On the development side, the hotel doesnt have a large bar area which when the restaurant was full with separate guests for meals meant the library was pretty full however this didnt detract from the experience.
- Rachel (7/5): Not sure if this venue is value for money. High price for just a room. - The rooms are very comfortable,clean and quiet. Great position in the village with resident parking. The beds are very comfortable, the bathrooms are a good spec and very user friendly- great shower. The staff all appeared to be afraid of the guests. Interaction was very limited, very regimented. Although professional and proficient. Reception was unwelcoming (only one member of staff) at check in who made us feel like we were inconveniencing them. The guest communal space is limited, a library available that non residents can use.

- Karrst (10/5): Excellent pub style hotel with five star service - The Loch Lomond Arms Hotel was our third stop on our tour of Scotland and boy was this a great place to stay. We don't often stay in a pub/hotel, but this was areally great experience. Staff - Friendly, professional and nothing was too much always eager to help. From Reception at check-in to the Bar and Restaurant. everyone was ready with a quick chat about where we were going or been and some excellent tips. Room - We had the Colquhoun Room, which was very spacious and decked in tartan décor. The bed was comfortable and we had a couple of great nights sleep. There were views over the park and beer garden. The queen's Tree was across the road from our room. Even though it was on the road there was very little traffic noise. While we were there the room was kept clean and tidy each day. The bathroom was good although not very big, but comfortable. Plenty of extras available there as well. There was also a great old fire place in the room and one could imagine sitting around this on a winters night with a wee dram, pure bliss. The tartan theme through the hotel, along with the pictures and wall ornaments really gives you that Scottish Highland feel. Food - Breakfast was again excellent. Great choice of pastries and cold meats, with fruit and yoghurts. There was also a great selection of hot dishes, with the full Scottish delicious and filling. One thing we were starting to find out about Scotland was they don't scrimp on the servings. We also ate in the Restaurant/Bar in the evenings. There was is good selection on the menu with a number of god wines to compliment the food. We both had the venison pie which was simply gorgeous according to my wife, who does not normally go for this type of meat. Served in a quaint metal dish, which reminded me of my what my Great-Grandmother used to use. Not only great food ,but memories as well. Location - Situated on what used to be the old main road just outside the village of Luss. We found the Loch Lomond arms ideal to explore the village, loch and countryside around the village. It's about a ten minute walk from the hotel to the Luss Pier and beaches. There is a great beer garden with views out to the hills around and ample parking. Although it did get quite busy on Saturday afternoon, bit lots of friendly people and we even met someone from near our old home. This should be your go to place if you plan a few days around Loch Lomond. Great Staff, food and beers. Ideal to explore the historic village of Luss, which lived up to its billing as the loveliest village in Scotland

- D4942SIcraigh (10/5): Perfection! - I very rarely feel motivated to leaving reviews, in fact they are typically reserved for complaints, but certainly not this time. There’s a famous quote “There is no such thing as perfection, but in striving for perfection we can achieve excellence”. The Loch Lomond Arms Hotel at Luss is clearly an exception. They have truly found the recipe and produced perfection. What a fabulous weekend we have just spent in its Loch Lomond Suite. The welcome upon arrival from Sophie at check-in, the fabulous service with a smile from all its friendly staff, the quality of furnishings throughout and the comfort of the beautiful 4-poster bed all contributed to such a wonderful stay. I could go on and on, recommending the delicious food – especially our breakfast – but why not try it for yourself, you won’t be disappointed.

The chef was unable to - We stayed in the rivers edge which was lovely plenty of space and beautifully positioned next to the river You had to cross a very busy road and we had a child with us
- Dr. Sonja (9/5): - Sehr hübsches und authentisches Haus, tolle Einrichtung. Sehr sehr gutes Frühstück und Abendessen. Eine echt schottische Unterkunft wie sie im Buche steht. Die Zimmer waren sehr klein, so dass man nicht mal Platz hatte, den Koffer richtig aufzumachen, aber das hat uns nicht weiter gestört.
