Apartment was spotless. Well equipped kitchen and shower-room. Fridge, washing machine, dish washer, toaster, microwave. Mugs, plates, cutlery and drinks glasses. Everything worked perfectly. A simply but comfortable open plan sitting room c/w kitchen area. Very comfy bed/room. Quiet. Large bathroom with toilet. Shower only, no bath. Shower worked well. All spotlessly clean. Perfectly position on the edge of town centre. Everywhere in town easily walkable. I rate it as 1st class for folks who like to self cater a bit and want quiet, private relaxing place to stay. Ideal as a base to explore a lovely part of the country. Needs clearer directions from car park to reception and apartments. Lifts to 2 seperate apartment blocks not obvious enough. Persons with reduced mobility beware. If lift fails stairs are many and steep. Fire alarm had us rudely awakened at 6am one morning. Lift power cut when alarm sounded. Couldn't negotiate stairs with my wife's wheelchair and no alternative but for her to stay in room or hallway while I investigated the problem. No one around to give instruction or explanation. Technician arrived later and said system is temprementle. False alarm. There's no obvious plan for visitors for fire escape procedures. We had a very tense 30 minutes just after sunrise. After waking us up at the crack of dawn and alarms screaming for almost a half hour it's unacceptable to say everything's OK, it's just a false alarm. When an fire alarm sounds anywhere you'd be stupid to assume 'it's probably a false alarm'. You have to act and it's particularly traumatic if you've a dependent person to deal with. Spoiled the start to our day and a black mark against an otherwise perfect stay.

The young receptionist gave a good estimate of what was asked , knowledge that meant alot to a visitor yo the town . Very quiet at night I can't say anything. The decor is basic, it feels like student hall accommodation with many notices warning you not to do many things - the management must assume that all guests require a lot of guidance about basic things! There was no hot water available either at night or in the morning. Fortunately the shower was electric so it had hot water, but nowhere else.
