• K103QPstephenf (10/5): Holiday Vibes in Austin - We live in San Diego, our son is a student at UT Austin. We came to visit over Christmas and new year and decided to try a new location. Kasa seemed intriguing and worth a chance. The day of check-in we were notified that the water heater in our unit had failed, but they would make things right by moving us to another unit. I admit the situation made me a little skeptical, but we went with it and checked in to what I consider a fabulous room in an ideal location in downtown Austin! A room was spacious, clean, and well appointed. We were walking distance to everything downtown Austin offers and only a few minutes from our son’s apartment north of the university. Over the next five years while our son is working on his PhD, we plan to make Kasa a frequent stay!

Entry/exiting the building, elevator and parking were all by card. The room itself was VERY basic but clean. Beds were very comfortable. Had a cool view since the den area is all windows. Received a notice/text message on Saturday night at 10:30 while in the room playing a board game, for noise disturbance??!! Yet I was awakened around 2 am to people laughing and talking.

And while the parking instructions were incredibly detailed and were the only reason I was able to navigate it, it would still be nice to have an easier and more simple way to get in and out of the property.

• Zane (8/5): - Great space, great amenities, great pool. Amazing location in a central part of downtown Austin, which makes the hotel close to everything. The over the top no human interactions is not a thing I enjoyed though. Virtual check-in is annoying for no reason but the check-out is easy. Placing random noise trackers in the unit to send you text messages while playing music while no one is even complaining or being disturbed is over the top annoying. In addition not disclosing that noise trackers would be placed and that one would have to scan their face prior to checking in is not something I like and should really be fully disclosed prior to one paying a non-refundable payment.
• Dreamer771257 (10/5): Location, Location! - Loved the location and modern apartment style. Also loved the floor to ceiling windows which gave a great view of the city. Beds were soft and bathrooms were spacious enough. I had 2br and 2 ba room and the main room had a larger walk in closet and TV.
• Diana (10/5): - I was surprised that my Kasa stay worked so well. The phone number was almost always answered by a person who was well trained and had all the information on our contact and common to date. They are also great with text communication. Special note: The instructions need to be read thoroughly before you arrive otherwise things will get very confusing very fast. If you speak to the front desk at the 2nd street austin location for parking instructions before you park the front desk gives very different instructions to park that will be very expensive. Read and follow Kasa instructions on parking and register your car in advance. The electric car chargers are operated through an App called Loop. You have to register with the App or it won’t work. Once you register the charger worked . It’s a slow charge so my empty battery took 8 hours to fill to 75% overnight and cost $15. I want to especially thank their team and their cleaning team for their thorough ness and integrity and honesty. I left a valuable piece of jewelry on the desk in my bedroom and I called immediately when I realized it. They found it and helped me get it back within a few days . I am so grateful to their customer service team especially Marizon for helping me. You should know that the door to the unit does not automatically lock after you enter and depart so make sure you check your door when leaving it does not lock like a normal hotel. When you are in the unit by yourself you need to lock yourself.
• Amy (10/5): First stay in Austin. Great alternative. - Great option for accommodations vs a typical hotel. The apartment was a unique idea, and I loved it. The location is perfect. Instructions to access building was clear. Things to make it even better, for the unit I stayed in is dark out curtains wide enough to cover the entire windows in bedroom, stools in kitchen lower height for sitting, and a few more utensils in kitchen for cooking eggs.

I was also dumb enough to leave my Xbox in my room after check out, and was able to retrieve it a few days later. I will definitely recommend you stay here.

I really enjoyed the units which were huge and had everything I needed for a week long stay. Next time I come to Austin I will stay with Kasa! Also the city/river views from the apartment are amazing!
• Michael (6/5): Too many minuses - The property, unit & view were all fine, as you can see in the photos. After the miserable check-in process (instructions too tedious - like programing an 90's DVR), we were not provided our required parking pass. Because of the layered problems in accessing the correct parking area, accessing the correct building entrance, locating the correct access code for the specific control panel, then to find we did not have the required parking pass - well not worth the trouble. I thought it was me until I found another visiting couple with the same issues and angst. The housekeeping staff were actually quite pleasant & responsive, and especially the parking gate attendant Ms Zuri who provided us with in-person assistance - something truly lacking and why next time I will book a room with a front-desk, and a person with whom I can speak. We received no compensation. We were made to check in not til 4:00PM, unless we wanted to pay an excessive "early" fee, metered for each hour in advance of 4:00PM (hotels do not do this, nor have such late check-in times), then as "compensation", offered a late check-out time (we had an 07:30 flight out). Our pantry had a dirty dog's harness & poop bags, dirty towel in the bath. I travel a lot for work and this was a departure. If you're still compelled to book - study well the instructions, but consider booking a property with more flexibility, more responsive service and fewer mazes to run. Who wants this after a long travel day?

The balcony overlooked the river which was nice both during the day and the evenings. Check in was unique but after checking in the first time, it becomes an easy process
• Alicia (10/5): Great location near Shopping/Dining - Our Kasa stay in Austin was an overall good experience. Our unit had everything that we would need for our weekend stay. The kitchen was equipped with all of the basics so we could cook a meal during our visit. The location is great with many dining and shopping options within easy walking distance. Our balcony was also enjoyable for morning coffee or just getting some fresh air. The building itself is a bit complicated to get into, but the Kasa company was extremely good with communication before and during our stay.

• 727songl (10/5): Want to enjoy Austin like a local? This place is it. - Location: Superb. Many restaurants, shops, cafes are all within walking distance. You can walk to the Lady Bird river and enjoy the view from the bridge. Many joggers spotted if you are an active person. Cleanliness: Everything was neatly placed and was able to observe they keep the place tidy. It smelled nice too. Vibe: If you want that high rise Austin local living vibe, this is the place. I thought it would be great for those looking to move to Austin or experience what it feels to live in an apartment of your own- this is a great choice. I met a lady in the elevator who told me she tried out Kasa and ended up actually getting a place within the same building. Noise: no complaint. You’ll hear some noise (it is downtown) but nothing from your neighbors. Safety: From entering the garage to the corridors, elevators, and to your room- everything was secured & needed a fob/proxy to get in and out. Cameras all around too. Amenities: as described on Kasa, all provided with great care. KASA SERVICE: Absolutely amazing. They have 24-7 customer service via phone, txt, email. Very quick in responses and they provide you with all the How tos & guide from beginning of the trip to the end. Well guided and can’t get lost. Overall: 10/10 would look for Kasa again for next trips.

Make sure to carefully read through the check-in instructions as this is a fully self-service process. However if you ever need any help, the virtual customer service was super responsive.
• 534avitals (2/5): The WORST Custome Service - Avoid This Place Like the Plague – Nightmare Stay This was hands down the worst hotel experience I've ever had. From the moment I checked in, it was a disaster. Our unit was missing basic essentials: no bed sheet, no extra pillows for the pull-out sofa – even though we had three people booked to stay. I flagged this at 4 PM, and they had the nerve to suggest the bedding was "hidden" somewhere in the unit. Spoiler: it wasn’t. Despite repeated follow-ups, they did absolutely nothing. When I returned at 10:30 PM, still no bedding. I had to fight for over two more hours just to get moved to a different room – and even then, I had to drag the sheets and pillows from one unit to another just to cobble together a place to sleep. Every time I reached out, I waited over 30 minutes for any kind of response – if I got one at all. This place is a complete joke. Incompetent, unresponsive, and indifferent to even the most basic guest needs. If you value your time, your comfort, and your sanity – stay far, far away.

Then place is great and also even if there are many apartments, walls and floors are very insulated and you cannot really hear noise. Also right 5 minutes walk from the place there is a storage place in a laundry shop that is convenient and reliable.

We had one question which was answered via a text almost instantly even though it was late in the evening. The 'check-in' process might seem daunting but just read it through and it works perfectly. • work4travel2013 (2/5): A miserable experience - The worst experience in decades of overeas travel accommodation. All I want upon arriving at a new city is a simple, efficient checkin, prompt access to a user friendly room and idiot-proof taps and light fittings. This is a scanned entry after supposedly receiving a checkin email (I didn't), but after an existing guest - no concierge present - let me into the foyer I was on the phone to a help desk (it's not in concierge's KPIs) there was a questionnaire, a passport photo upload, different codes eventually supplied for building plus room entry. 40 minutes later finally arriving at my room and an hour's passed and I still can not find out how to turn off the fan. Concierge has not offered to find out how. No instructions on air con/fan available. Haven't found a rubbish bin and am wondering if I'll be charged for leaving dirty dishes which I'm certainly not going to wash. To add insult to injury I'm writing this with my thickest jacket on in the foyer (see comments re fan) because my room has no WiFi. If I wasn't feeling homesick before I am now, and my first negative impression of Austin is likely to overwhelm any positive ones in the next two days.

I was a little intimidated by the check-in instructions, but could not have been more of a breeze when I actually got to the property. The space itself is very clean, with an awesome balcony view. Not to mention, the location is incredible!

The balcony was used often to enjoy the unseasonably warm weather. Our host greeted us with some welcome treats and gifts for a milestone we were celebrating. This was very much appreciated. It is a little bit of a puzzle to park and check in. If you follow the detailed instructions, you should be okay.

I was a little annoyed the key fob didn't work to let us in, but we were able to use the check in code without the key fob. I was happy with the security measures in place so my annoyance was minimal. The bed and couch were comfortable. We enjoyed the view from the patio/ deck. We would happily stay here again in the future. This property communicates through its own app, which surprised me. But it is easy to use.

• Nan (10/5): - Very good location, clean room and easy to access. Walking distance to grocery, shopping centers and the lake. The rooms are big, clean with everything I need. I followed the instructions to get to the apartment without no problems. Definitely will come back next next.
• Manisha (10/5): - Conveniently located. Easy access to food shopping and UT downtown area. Property was clean though the couple of kitchen cabinets plywood came off and can be dangerous if not paying attention. Other than that it was a very nice stay

Loved the 2 bdrm apartment and for the $ was a way better option & value than staying in a hotel. Loved the city of Austin! So many varieties of bars and restaurants to choose from all within walking distance or Uber ride, I never used my vehicle to commute anywhere the entire stay. Loved that the park was just across the River from Kasa and seeing the fine city of Austin honor one of its greatest musicians Stevie Ray Vaughan with his statue is a wonderful thing. Will definitely be back and book at Kasa again.
• Nomad08962064614 (10/5): Wonderful stay! - We really enjoyed our stay! The apartment is stunning! We loved the views of the city from the windows and balcony! It was clean and comfortable for 2 couples. It was convenient to restaraunts, music venues, the river and all the things we wanted to do.

• Q5210CDcharlieh (2/5): Horrible. Stay away. Worst experience in decades of travel. - Worst experience I have had in decades of travel around the world. We are experienced travelers, not complainers, but this was an absolutely horrific experience and their response to our issues has been despicable. We arrived from the airport after our agreed check-in time. When we entered the room, we saw that the bed was unmade and the linens soiled (see photo). There were no towels. The coat closet looked as if it had never been cleaned (see photo). We were tired from our travels and wanted to be able to clean up and rest but could not. We reached out immediately to Kasa (by text, the only way to contact them). There was no one on site to handle our issues. The response felt like it was generated by AI (i.e. "Your comfort is our priority and we're actively reviewing your concerns to address them as swiftly as possible"). A long two hours later they responded and told us to move to another room. The new room we went to had so many issues. The microwave was broken and making a loud humming noise, and the LCD indicator was flashing (see video). It was hard-wired into the wall, and there was no way to unplug it. There was no silver, plates, or cups available as advertised. The TV in the bedroom was not working. The lock to the terrace door was broken. My husband was walking barefoot in the room and we saw that the bottom of his feet were black from the dirty concrete floor (see photo). I again reached out to Kasa but again got robotic responses via text (i.e "Your feedback is invaluable to helping us improve"). They then texted us and told us to unplug the microwave, which we could not do. No one from housekeeping or maintenance came to address the issues. At this point we were late to meet family for dinner. It had been over three hours since we arrived. We told the staff we were leaving in the morning (there is no one on site to check you out) and booked a stay at the Fairmont hotel at a higher cost but our choices Thanksgiving week were severely limited. One of the primary reasons we choose Kasa was to cook Thanksgiving sides for our family. We bought $250 worth of groceries at Trader Joe's that we couldn't use at the Fairmont. Kasa charged us $800 for 4 nights and only refunded $250. Our stay at the Fairmont was $1200.00. This is a robo-hotel run by VC money with no customer service, no maintenance, no cleaning staff on site, stay away!
• victoria (10/5): Very good stay - Everything is virtual here and it is a little confusing, however, their text and phone communication is excellent. The apartment had a great view, very clean and safe, bedding very comfortable. Location could not be better.

• Richard (4/5): Terrible directions and communications. - I was in a taxi getting there and there was just no way to find it. The directions were terrible. It cost me $15 just to keep circling it. I finally found it and the door was broken. Someone motioned me around to an unmarked garage. I needed to leave a day early but the person I called said it wasn't possible.

• Sue (6/5): - The property was clean and comfortable. Nice location for entertainment. The only drawback was it was cold and by that I mean it was gray. It was white. It was black. There was absolutely no color in this entire apartment. The floors and the ceiling were cement the hallways were cement. It felt rather like the Gulag. In fact there weren’t even any throw pillows on the couch, but, like I say, it was quiet. The location was safe and it had everything a person would need including a kitchen.
• Michelle (4/5): - The location boasts stunning views, but the interior feels quite industrial and lacks warmth. Unfortunately, there was no manual provided to guide us on operating appliances or turning off the fan. Additionally, the cleanliness left much to be desired, with hair found in areas where it shouldn't be. Accessing the room from the elevator was challenging, as the codes frequently malfunctioned, and even when we managed to reach our floor, getting into our room was often a struggle.

There's a theatre in the same building too! Having a kitchen is a big bonus if you want to save some money and cook instead of eating out every day.
