• Giorgio (5/5): Posizione ottima, ma di notte o dormi o dormi - La posizione è ottima Il servizio notturno non mi piace, perché l'hotel viene chiuso con in lucchetto dopo le 02.00 e questo non era riportato e ogni volta che vuoi entrare e uscire, devi "disturbare" il portiere che non è in reception ma in un altra stanza e questo a me scoccia molto.

L'emplacement de l'hôtel est très bien situé pour prendre les bus, les taxis à proximité. Pleins de petits restaurants dans le quartier. La Scala est située à 4 minutes de l'hôtel. J'ai constaté que la lumière était sombre dans la chambre. La pièce pour le petit déjeuner est petite.

The only staff member who stood out positively was Jimmy, who was really kind and welcoming. The rest couldn’t even hide their racism! Upon arrival at the hotel, I was assigned a room that does not match the description or specifications outlined at the time of booking. The hotel staff were unwilling to assist, stating that because I booked through Booking.com, there was nothing they could do. I also emailed Booking.com but have not received any response. The room provided is extremely small, comparable to a closet, and is located on the first floor facing an alleyway with the hotel’s HVAC equipment directly outside. As a woman traveling alone, I expressed to the staff that I did not feel safe staying in a ground-floor room in such an isolated location, but my concerns were dismissed. Additionally, the room is outdated, the furniture is worn, the bed is uncomfortable, and the hot water barely works. Overall, the accommodations are far below the standards and expectations presented at the time of booking.

• Jacqueline (4/5): Excellent location with friendly staff always ready to help. - The location is first class and that is what you are paying for, everything I wanted to see was in walking distance which was wonderful. I found the staff were always very friendly and helpful. I will say the room and bathroom were clean and the bedding very clean and fresh. I was happy with the breakfast as it had some good options and they made me a great soy cappucino in the morning. The hotel itself is very tired and in desperate need of a refresh and some new furnishings and decoration. I had a single room and I have not had a darker more depressing room in all my travels. The bed was extremely hard and the linens were basic with no softness or comfort on offer, and the bedroom furnishings were damaged. There was nothing comfortable in the room, it did not offer any level of relief after a day on my feet. It did have a balcony which in itself was disappointing as it looked out to bare damaged walls and makeshift rooftops littered with cigarette butts. Due to the pidgeons I could not have the door open for fresh air.

Het was zo gehorig dat ik de wekkers van minimaal 3 buren heb horen afgaan. Je hoorde de ene hotelgenoot föhnen en dat de ander stond te douchen. Het leek wel of de mensen op de gang in je kamer stonden. En de wifi werkte niet.

Alles sauber, tägliche Zimmerreinigung, üppiges Frühstück für italienische Verhältnisse. Zimmer zur Straße sehr laut, durch Trambahn und Verkehr. Matratzen für meinen Rücken zu hart.

• Banett (6/5): Excellent Location, Disappointing Stay - I stayed at Hotel Rio in Milan, and unfortunately, my experience was quite mixed. The only real highlight of this hotel is its location, which is excellent and very convenient for exploring the city. The reception staff were also very kind and welcoming—they even recognized me when I returned each day, which was a nice personal touch. However, the hotel itself is very old and quite dark. The room was extremely small—more like the size of a cupboard—and the bed was also small and not very comfortable. The overall atmosphere felt outdated, and there was an unpleasant smell in the room. On the positive side, considering how old the interiors are, the cleanliness was actually quite good. One thing I didn’t like was the use of a traditional key that you have to leave at reception every time you go out, which felt inconvenient. This was my second time in Milan, but due to experiences like this—and the high prices for what you get—I probably wouldn’t return. For this hotel, I paid as much as I would for a 4-star hotel in other cities, which didn’t feel justified.
