- Vitaly (9/5): - The location was great, especially if you're visiting UCLA or spending time around the area. The room was clean and you could really feel the attention to detail in the design. What stood out most was that the room felt unique and had its own character and personality. It felt almost like staying in a place with its own soul, rather than in a typical large hotel chain where rooms often feel the same no matter where you are in the world. One area that could be improved is the fitness space. The rooftop itself has an incredible view and has the potential to be a really special amenity. There are a few pieces of equipment there, such as treadmills and dumbbells, but they felt quite outdated and weren't very practical to use. A small, well equipped gym, especially if kept on the rooftop, would make the experience even better and would fit very well with the hotel's unique atmosphere.

- Karen (10/5): Feels like home. - I have stayed at Plaza la Reina on numerous occasions during visits to UCLA, and I am never disappointed in the quality of the stay. Given the cost of lodging in Westwood in general (unless you need a pool) -- you are getting extremely gracious accommodations for the price, with none of those added resort fees. You have a kitchenette if you must, but there are so many great restaurants in walking distance. Note: You can either pay to park in their garage, or there is metered street parking.

- Paradise31043039930 (10/5): Plaza la Reina Los Angeles - a motel which provides superb services - We had a very pleasant and extended stay at Plaza La Reina in Los Angeles, where we spent 18 nights while looking after our two sisters-in-law who were hospitalized as a result of a horrific car accident. The location was ideal for our needs—quiet, safe, and yet extremely convenient. Within a short walking distance, we found essential facilities like Trader Joe’s, Target, and a variety of restaurants, which made daily errands and meals effortless. One of the main reasons for our visit was to see our two sisters-in-law, and the hotel’s proximity to Ronald Reagan UCLA Hospital and the California Rehabilitation Institute was incredibly helpful. Being so close allowed us to visit them daily without long commutes, which made a meaningful difference during our stay. The service was another highlight. Receptionists Hina, Helen, and Nadia were consistently professional, attentive, and warm-hearted, always ready to assist with any request. Their kindness truly made us feel welcome. In addition, the janitorial staff did an excellent job keeping our room clean, tidy, and comfortable throughout our stay. The hotel is also conveniently located about 45 minutes from LAX, making travel easy. Overall, Plaza La Reina offers a perfect balance of comfort, convenience, and thoughtful service—we would gladly stay here again.

- Lin (10/5): I would love to come back again! - Situated only a couple of bus stops (and walking distance) from UCLA, this was a very convenient location for my son’s college visit. The signature one BR suite was spacious (65sqm), and we appreciated a free extra bed for our growing son. It was a bonus to have a laundry machine and a dryer at the end of our two week trip across the states. The staff were always available and helpful. This 10 year old building is made to look like it was from the old Spanish era. While we can definitely enjoy that feel, it doesn’t come with all the inconveniences that would normally come with those historical buildings. With a bathtub, this would have been a 11 start stay.

Did not have any non-caffeinated beverage options besides water. Not a big deal, but there was no gym or meaningful public area.

Location/neighbourhood is not interesting. Quite close to Beverly Hills by car. Really cold floor in the bathroom and shower. It is impossible to stand bare foot. I had problem with hot water by it was fixed immediately.

Having a kitchenette and laundry facilities are a huge bonus. Most importantly, the staff is top notch. Hina at the front desk does an amazing job keeping clients happy and helping with any small details. Ruben, the resident Handyman, is always smiling and can be counted on to handle even minor issues. Highly recommended this property. You will not be disappointed.

THe location to food and stores was great and walking the area was a bonus. The parking is nto great and expensive. THe exercise facility is a joke. Two machines, one not working and rusty weights all outside under a cabana. The ortuside part is fine, but not if it destroys the equipment!

You find Trader Joe’s and Target within walking distance. All staff were free and supportive. Uber comes within a few minutes. Deluxe suite which I stayed didn’t have laundry machine. However, if you want to use laundry machine, the staff would manage to let you use vacant room’s laundry machine upon availability.

They even assist with receiving packages, making your stay more convenient. Clean The cleaning team is very diligent, keeping both the room and common areas neat and tidy. Fantastic Location! Just a 6–8 minute walk to Trader Joe’s, Whole Foods, and Ranch 99. Only a 10-minute drive to Century City, LA’s biggest mall. Great for Long-Term Stays The place has a full kitchen and a washing machine, making it super convenient and comfortable for extended stays. The furniture is a bit outdated, and the mattress isn’t as comfortable as my last stay.

- Seyed M (8/5): Clean and beautiful but need some upgrades - The location of the property is perfect close to Trader joe and lots of restaurants, it is also so cozy and feels like your own apartment, having laundry and dryer in unit is the best key point. Event though the rooms are clean but Unfortunately the furnitures are old and teared, it is time to change them at least the Sofas!!! Also if they place a small toaster in units it will make their kitchen complete. Btw the roof top needs some restoration and upgrades. It is beautiful though.

Had a small family gathering with the dining table there. - The configuration of the bedroom was excellent as it was partitioned between living room and bathroom, so will not be disturbed by sunlight. Also the linen bedding was so soft that I didn't want to leave. The hotel is very quiet as if no one is living in it but all the rooms are full. The parking lot was very empty. wish I knew about the overnight parking on campus and near Target.

- Susan (5/5): We were disappointed. - We have stayed here for several years. We like the location, and the room size. Unfortunately, the hotel has started to slip. Towels are now thinner, “leather sofa” has started to peel. Closet light did not work, when we arrived safe deposit box was locked ( needed engineer), wake-up call was 20 min. late the first morning. Treadmill upstairs needs to be replaced with a new model. We understand Troy, one of the longtime receptionists was taking a long sabbatical, but would return. This is unfortunate as Troy added a degree of professionalism and graciousness to Plaza La Reina, which in now missing.

Fully equipped kitchenette, washing machine and dryer in the room were very convenient for the stay. Room was spacious and comfortable. Pricy for us. Staff knocked and use key card to enter our room 7 O’clock in the morning! for phone check or something, and it happened again half an hour later, we were quite shocked.

- Karen (8/5): Always a Comfortable Stay - I've stayed at this property several times while visiting UCLA Medical Center, which is within walking distance. This hotel is located in the charming village of Westwood in west LA. and has a gracious "old world" mediterranean appeal. The staff is equally gracious and accommodating. The surrounding area is fun to explore and offers diverse and unique shopping and dining options. The rooms are all spacious, with kitchenettes, and designed to feel more like a home than a hotel room. None of the pricey resort fees that are popping up lately. The beds are large and comfortable, but we've had to also use the sofa beds at times, and I found them to be soft with not much support. I think they could also back off on the linens fragrance - smell like dryer sheets which I personally dislike. If you are particular about drinking water, be sure to bring your own. There is a Target / Trader Joes just down the street.

It's the perfect location, walking distance to tons of restaurants and shopping. Parking on-site and for someone who uses Lyft, even though it's a busier road, there is a space for them to pick up and drop off (this part always stresses me out!). If you have trouble sleeping, I LOVE how the bedroom is away from the windows and gets completely dark. I love that there's a little step in the shower for shaving your legs too, it's the little details!! I will be back. All was perfect except one thing: The door locks from the outside around 6pm which I think is quite early - other hotels I have been to, this starts at 10pm or so. This is not in a bad area whatsoever (it's quite nice actually) so not sure why it starts so early. Also when I checked in (appx 7-8pm) it was locked, so how am I supposed to check in?? You can see the front desk from outside and I was trying to signal and the woman (front desk staff) there was pretty nasty and said I couldn't pull on the door or it re-locks. How would I know? How else would we enter? A small sign on the door saying that would be helpful.

The exercise equipment or lack of it was a bit disappointing. Only very heavy weights and no exercise mats.

My wife was denied a room card. even though she had her ID. meaning a 20 - minute wait until I could get to the room.

- X5878UCcassies (4/5): MEZZANINE MEANS BASEMENT - yuck - This is my second time staying at this hotel. The first time was great. This time, I am in a room that is basically in the basement. It’s not even in the main hotel – you have to walk down the alley and around the back by the parking garage and garbage cans to enter a room that has all the pipes visible in the ceiling and a fluorescent light shining in from the parking area. It’s quite yucky - particularly for $330 a night!!! Be sure not to book a mezzanine room. I’m not sure exactly how they define mezzanine, which sounds da nice (this category is not even listed on their website with photos – I just checked), but this isn’t it.

I guess it would have been nice if they gave me a full box of tissues as I ran out after just a few tissues. No big deal.
