Guest Reviews
- Paul (8/5): - Very good location Very limited parking at the venue and £12.50 per night
- Sohal (10/5): -
- Jill (9/5): Really nice room in a great location. - Great staff, warm welcome. Room was large and very clean. Mine had a small terrace. Close to the sea, restaurants and a shop. Over a bar but not noisy. Large beer garden at rear. Nothing
- Linda (7/5): - Location briiiant Staff very good Property looks a bit tired. Needs a bit TLC
- Asenia (8/5): Welcoming and warming stay - The view from the room
- Lucy (8/5): Overall a great stay - Room was comfy and clean with a lovely view. Great location and some staff members were excellent. Breakfast was very good. Some areas were a bit tired and worn and some staff members could have been a bit more friendly.
- Susanne (9/5): -
- James (8/5): -
- Michael (10/5): - This was my 2nd time here and all i can say is that is Nice, quiet and have an amazing view over the english channel in the morning As a bigger guy, the top madres on the bed isnt as comfy as it could be, the springs makes the back hurt a bit.
- Anna (6/5): Lovely staff but sadly the place is really overpriced. - The staff was lovely It’s really overpriced. I can’t really understand £60 to have breakfast with two small waffles and an egg royale, and we were coming from London. The staff is lovely but £200 was also very overpriced for a dated room above a pub (there was a loud party in the evening). It would have been a good review at a different price point as I did appreciate the staff.
- Sue (7/5): Convient location to beach, shops, public transport helpful staff - The location was perfect
Room was a very good size with 2 easy chairs & a sofa
Good sized shower - spotless No lift, steep stairs to all floors
No off street parking
- Adam (8/5): Very friendly, very comfortable - would return, and have already recommended. - The staff were extremely friendly, as was Rocky the dog. The room was very comfortable, everything worked.
The food and drink in the bar were also very good. The only things I would say is that the car park could have done with a few more spaces, but I accept that would be hard without encroaching into the beer garden.
Also, we could have done with a bit more room in the bathroom - it was tight around the sink.
- simon (9/5): - We had 2 very nice days , the room was ideal pet friendly No problem, all the staff were very helpful, our room was exactly what we wanted and the food was very nice home made cake also It was all very nice ,
- Chris (8/5): It was the perfect final part of the jigsaw to make a great weekend away. - A great location with views of the beach, and sea. Friendly and helpful staff, with nice food. The on site car parking for the first night I thought was expensive at £12.50.
- Mike (8/5): Staff were excellent, very welcoming and friendly. Ideal for what we are looking for. We will be back. - Proximity to the beach front was excellent - right in your doorstep. A little dated, minor spruce up wouldn’t go a miss
- Michelle (10/5): -
- Richard (5/5): Just ok, wouldn’t rush back - Room was very clean and spacious , staff were friendly and informative Room on second floor and quite a walk from entrance
Car park of basically a pub hotel charged at £12.50 per night
- Andrew (10/5): - Very comfortable room with lovely views over the sea. The room was clean, light and airy, the bed was extremely comfortable. Car paring was simple. All round experience was brilliant.
- Matthew (10/5): -
- Laura (9/5): -
- Tony (7/5): Ok - Only one towel between us
The water tasted funny when we made the tea
- heather (8/5): Would book again, clean, friendly and very dog friendly - Dog and child friendly, right on the beach, close to amenities. Very friendly family team. Clean room. Very reasonably priced. We had a room at the very top which meant a few flights of stairs, wasn't ideal with a baby and buggy however, we were so glad we were at the top as we didn't hear a sound from the restaurant and bar below (they had a party in the sat night). We'd book the top floor again.
- Chris (5/5): Disappointing - The staff were friendly. The cooked breakfast was nice. Booked largely on price but they charged £12.50 to park - had I known this I would not have booked.
Opening or closing the windows seemed to make little difference to the cold draught or noise.
Advert made claims regarding sustainability but there was little evidence of this.
- Elsa (8/5): - Great location. Didn't have breakfast
- Tankut Kaan (10/5): -
- Michael (8/5): Great for a stop over! - Location
Friendly Stairs narrow and steep to top floor
Parking was all ok just a bit awkward
- Mark (8/5): - Great hotel, very friendly and clean.
Well priced and comfortable.
- William (2/5): Way over priced for what it is. Just a pub with a few rooms.. - Bed was comfortable and shower was OK Dirty stair carpet. Breakfast very ordinary. Room basic
- Jane (10/5): - I love this place, and will be staying a few more times.
The rooms are very comfortable and roomy with awesome sea views.
The food served in the bar is delicious. All the staff have been super kind as I have had a bereavement in the family. This has been a relaxing safe haven for me.
Huge thanks and I will be back. Not applicable
- Angela (10/5): We had a lovely time and good chat with the staff - The staff were so friendly and the food was great and very helpful Parking is a bit pricey when you have paid to stay at the hotel
- Thomas (8/5): -
- Sarah (8/5): - Excellent location, had separate secure access without going through the pub which was appreciated. Bed was very comfy. View from the window was beautiful. The road outside is quite busy so was noisy at times but didn’t bother me hugely.
- Lynn (10/5): Relaxing comfortable stay that met our needs - Very warm welcome, clean comfortable room and we were upgraded to a sea view. Everything was great no complaints
- Zeshan (10/5): -
- Tracey (7/5): -
- debbie (9/5): - Friendly and welcoming Really nice with does too Lovely room bar and restaurant excellent food we had was very good
- Iordache (2/5): -
- Alan (9/5): Lovely breakfast great hospitality will try dinning in next time - Very friendly and very relaxed lovely bedrooms and charging for electric car at very reasonable rates It was raining but hey ho it’s England
- Frances (10/5): I only stayed one night for a family party. Place was very nice as were the staff. I’d definitely stay again. - Very clean and comfortable. Staff very accommodating. Nothing it was a very nice, no complaints
- Lara (9/5): -
- Emma (9/5): Lovely friendly staff and great sized rooms for a good price. - Beautiful classic style pub, and great sized rooms with new modern bathrooms One of the vents in our room wouldn’t close so it was drafty, and the bed wasn’t the most comfortable but it was great value for money. Was a little annoyed that one of the other guests from our party staying in the same place got breakfast included in their rate but paid less than we did.
- Katherine (6/5): - The staff were fantastic and friendly
Lovely log burner in the bar
Friendly atmosphere I tried dinner at the hotel and while the chicken in the burger was quality the chips had been under hot lights not fresh and there were a centimeter of thick mayonnaise!
The room was ok. Cold cold when I arrived but the staff put the heating on
The shower looked a little bit shonky so I didn't try it
The TV was a little bit temperamental
One of the electric socket smelled hot when I turned it on so I didn't use that one again
- Krzysztof (8/5): -
- Gavin (10/5): Adequate - Location Advertised on-site parking but then on arrival was told it was £12.50!!!!
- Susan (7/5): Perfect for what we needed! - Clean room and comfy bed. Lovely, helpful staff. Some traffic noise overnight
- Jilly (8/5): Very comfortable and clean - Did not have breakfast Stool or chai under desktop to do make up, and hair
- Mark (8/5): Love the people the area and going again - The staff and locals were extremely welcoming and we loved the area and surroundings Slight mould in shower that's it
- Sophie (8/5): Séjour très agréable - L’accueil chaleureux des propriétaires, la qualité du petit déjeuner et la qualité de la literie Salle d’eau un peu ancienne
- Lisa (7/5): Overall, it was ok staying in the Beach Green Hotel, but the room was very stuffy, no air. - Very good location, nice room overlooking the sea. Close to the train station and the friends I was there to see.
I didn't book breakfast, so I can't rate that. The room was very hot and humid, we couldn't sleep at all and would really benefit from air conditioning or a fan in the room.
One window was locked and the other only opened a little bit, plus there was a thick curtain in front of the window. Very stuffy bedroom, unfortunately.
Mix up with the room key, as the cleaners had taken them home.
Some dirty tea and coffee supplies, sticky spoons and tea tray. They could also have supplied more milk, as there wasn't enough for even one cup of tea. Room was booked for two people.
- Maria (5/5): - Nice owners. Best Indian restaurant ever across the street!! A lot of extra charges, dogs 20pound, parking 12pound, breakfast a la carte 10-25 pound per person, made this stay very expensive.
No air con and hard to open windows facing very busy street.
- Daniela (10/5): Relaxing , very clean and delicious food served . - What a lovely friendly Hotel . Staff were fantastic, helpful and made us feel so welcome. It was very clean , the room was comfortable and quiet and the view of the beach was beautiful. There wasn’t anything that I didn’t like about the property.
- Sandy (10/5): Homely atmosphere friendly good food clean and a lovely room - The breakfast menu was creative, varied delicious and the service was second to none - the owners and staff were so friendly and attentive just a perfect place for a weekend getaway - we will be back We loved it all
- Corinne (8/5): We would stay again as nice, good vibe and clean - Good location for us and we could use the car park as low number of visitors Room not prepared for 2 people - only one set of everything. Bathroom tiny.
- Jacques (9/5): Très bien - Chambre spacieuse et agréable.
- Christie (8/5): -
- Zeshan (10/5): -
- Claire (10/5): -
- melanie (8/5): - Ideal Location, staff helpful and friendly
- Claire (10/5): -
- Lesley (10/5): A clean and welcoming hotel to stay at while visiting friends in Brighton - Staff welcoming, room clean, bed comfortable No parking but there is a reasonably priced carport opposite
- Eniko (8/5): - - It was the on the beach and relatively close to the station
- nice se views from the window
- nice to have a pub with live music downstairs
- excellent value for money - I am 5ft5” so it was not really a problem but I imagine taller people would have hit the ceiling with their head when getting out of the bed.
- I guess this restriction was reflected in the room price
- Sylvia (9/5): - Good size room, excellent location, sea view.
- Martyn (8/5): A good stay, with friendly staff. - I accidentally booked a single room but the hotel swapped the room quickly to a double, without any problems.
Much appreciated.
- Deb (9/5): Friendly Owners especially Fiona bar staff great lovely sea view Highly Recommend xx - Friendly owners Fiona was a fantastic host our room was spotless our bed really comfy would highly recommend thank you so much from Deb & Alun in Newport South Wales
- Sarah (9/5): Lovely weekend break - I really enjoyed my stay with my dogs. Lovely big back garden for the dogs to run around in. The décor looks new and modern. Everything very clean. Staff very helpful and attentive. Fantastic value for money. Lovely big soft bath towels.
- R (2/5): -
- Ian (8/5): -
- howard (7/5): The accommodation was very good and the location was reasonable, very handy for the beachfront. - The Room was very Good, it was comfortable, good size , clean and met expectations. Good view of the sea front as well. Staff were pleasant The Bar was a little noisy when we arrived and the check in procedure seemed a bit disorganised, also felt that it had not been adequately explained in the booking procedure that there was a parking charge for using the Hotel car park.
- Edleston (9/5): Great location, great views, comfortable beds and a lovely welcome - We were greeted when we arrived and shown to our room which was personal and great service. The room was warm, comfortable, a great size and had lovely views of the sea from the bay window, which had a great seating area to admire it from.
Bathroom was compact but had everything that was needed, including cute free toiletries that were welcome.
We had two single beds thankfully, which was what we had requested - (surprising how many times places promise but don't deliver this) so we were very grateful as I was sharing this room with my teenage son.
Evening meal in the downstairs restaurant was served quickly and was lovely too.
A tip for parking at the venue - 4 spaces only charged at £12.50 - over the road, beach car park £1.50 per hour, free between hours of 8pm and 7am so perfect for us and your car can be seen from the room if you park up the right end. Breakfast didn't start until 8.30am which was disappointing as we needed to be away for an event at 8am - this is quite late compared to most places we stay (we travel for sport) so other arrangements had to be made as it was important my son ate before competing. It might be an idea for a cold breakfast option to be offered to guests maybe?
- Danny (10/5): Wonderful - Everything lovely staff lovely location great food great room Nothing it was perfect
- Emma (7/5): Just right for what we needed - The location was perfect for doing the saturday morning Lancing Park Run. We had a nice greek meal the night before and breakfast on the beachfront the next day. The room was big, clean and nice ensuite. I could feel the springs in the bed. There was a cover band playing loudly in the bar downstairs but it was quiet before midnight.
- cirillo (9/5): Good Weekend Stay - Staff very friendly. The room was immaculate and very clean. Good breakfast selection. Good location and only 5 minutes from the railway station and a stones throw away from the beach. Nothing.
- Estelle (7/5): -
- Craig (10/5): - Location, walking distance to shops, restaurants and the Beach.
- Rosemary (8/5): Accomodation was ok but not in a hurry to return. - We had a good cooked breakfast but there was no orange juice or cereal available. There was a good choice of cooked breakfasts but that was the only option. We had a good evening meal. The room had slopping ceilings including above the bed. this made it a bit awkward when sitting on the bed to relax or watch TV.
- Danielle (9/5): - Lovely little hotel. Friendly staff and very clean. Everything you could possibly need. The bed was comfortable and a lovely view of the beach from the top room. Could hear traffic and birds during the night and early morning, but only if you're quite a light sleeper. Some traffic users couldn't help but use their horns a couple of times in the night, guessing at a roundabout. Not really the hotel's fault.
Parked on the road behind the hotel and cut through the alley, which saved £12 for parking at the hotel.
- Petra (9/5): - Great location , great food and staff
- Ian (6/5): Adequate hotel near the beach - Its location - by the beach and easy walking distance to my friend’s house where I was attending a 40th birthday party
Very comfortable bed Breakfast - had to wait ages to be served - didn’t seem to be a lot of staff around
Thought that the price was too expensive for the quality of hotel
No lift that I was made aware of and up 3 steep flights of stairs - not good for someone with neuropathy problems
- Kevan (9/5): -
- Lance (9/5): Lovely place - The location was perfect. On arrival, I was welcomed and when I asked about where to park my car I was told that there was a charge to park at the back of the hotel but that there was a car park on the beach green for a much smaller fee. I had a sea view and I could see my car from my window. The room was clean, tidy and beautiful. A double bed with plenty of pillows and a throw too. Two comfortable armchairs and a small table by the window to relax with a cuppa. All the usual tea making facilities were there, a tv and a shower en suite making it very good value for money.
They have a pub downstairs and everyone was courteous and polite. I enjoyed the karaoke night on Friday..the first night of my stay. It was on the main road so I easily able to get to where I needed to go during my stay and there are some great food places here..the Perch Cafe on the beach serves lovely food as did the Greek place down the road Meze Meze. The hotel had a bistro eatery but I didn't partake on this occasion. It was quiet and peaceful. I highly recommend this hotel as long as you can manage stairs. The stairs lol. I am a big woman so the stairs were a bit steep for me, but it was worth it for the view that I had in the room.
- Utsa (8/5): Accommodation was great but not the restaurant service - We liked everything about the property, especially the location and the sea view form the window. We managed to park on the street for an overnight stay. Street parking could be challenging but the hotel has their own parking with a significant fee. Nothing to do with the accommodation but the restaurant service was not up to the mark. We waited nearly two hours to receive a meal. With a toddler it was a bit chaotic and stressful.
- Pickett (7/5): Just OK - Perfect position close to the beach, rooms are a good size. It's expensive for what it is and dated.
- Marina (7/5): - Location Generally looked worn out, we asked for a double bed and got two singles pushed up together. Bathroon was very small, and the shower door didn't shut properly.
Parking had to be paid for and wasn't the easiest of places to park. Breakfast was really late due to shortages of staff but nice.
- Andrew (10/5): Lovely hosts and great staff - Room was closest to the outdoor garden where the party was
- angela (8/5): -
- Mechelle (8/5): Lancing - Parking, could take my dog, room was clean, nice view Booking.com price did not include dog price or parking. Did not like paying 12.00 for parking
- Ross (9/5): - The view and room was excellent
- Maclean Webster (9/5): Friendly hotel with good breakfast - Spacious room.
Delicious breakfast and good coffee.
Friendly, attentive owner and staff.
Comfy pillows.
- Magda (8/5): -
- Luke (3/5): Deafening Noise. Unless you join the party don't expect to sleep till late. - Room was clean and well furnished, check out was easy. Turned up on Friday evening at 9pm. The hotel is more of a pub with rooms above it than a hotel- and Karaoke was in full swing. Had to stand around at the bar and shout to check in. In my room, which was directly above the bar, the music was so loud that my glass of water was vibrating. Was told it would stop at 10.30 but it carried on till 11.15. It wasn't possible to do anything in the room given the deafening noise so I simply had to go our and walk around the deserted dark beech for two hours until it had stopped.
For this, I paid the princely sum of £130 for a single night.
- andrew (7/5): Reasonable -
- Smith (7/5): -
- Klára Andrea (9/5): -
- Jolanta (9/5): Highly recommended nice hotel and friendly staff and dogs are welcomed too - Great location close to the beach, lovely spacious room with a sea view Nothing
- Danielle (10/5): -
- Francesco (4/5): Not value for money - Location, staff Old infra, broken locker at the door (room 11), everything in the room quite worn out
