Guest Reviews
- Madison (10/5): - Awesome
- Wayne (10/5): Excellent place to stay. - Excellent stay! Very friendly staff and they went way beyond accommodating to make sure we were looked after! Breakfast and lunch available at coffee bar. Would stay again in a heartbeat.
- Win (8/5): - Nice place!!
- Kenneth (10/5): - The staff is fluent in English, Thai, and Burmese. They're very helpful and courteous. The area is quite close to neighborhood cafes and teashops for dining. Onsite restaurant offers a good choice of fruit juices, hot drinks, and meals. For some reason, during my stay, I couldn't get hot water from the tap or in the shower -- it's not a big deal since it's in a hot region and a cool shower is preferable, but in case you must have your warm or hot shower, keep that in mind.
- Yeonyuk (10/5): 편안한 호텔 - 깨끗하고 친절한 직원들...더할나위 없는 편안함
- Charles (8/5): - Centrally located. Noisy at times, but within walking distance of several cafes, 7-11 store, big night market. Rooms were OK and kept very clean. Air con, TV, wifi. Staff were pleasant and very helpful. An excellent value. We would come back to this hotel.
- Mr Ian David (10/5): - A well kept hotel, ample parking and a nice little garden.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Perfectly good hotel…. - Good business hotel with very friendly staff and good wifi. Does everything you need. Its well placed to walk to food, coffee, shopping wtx
- Jeanne (10/5): - Lovely art decor, pristine common areas and outdoor garden, helpful staff, good WiFi, ew breakfast menu- great location.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The J2 was charming and clean. Breakfast was lacking and repetitive.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice hotel. Affordable. Close to food, markets, temples and mosques.
- Joanna (10/5): - Comfortable stay. Love the local breakfast. The dishes change every morning.
- Prayoon (8/5): - Clean and good breakfast
Good location
Staff are polite and helpful
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice place - Nicely decorated lobby, friendly staff, clean room. Good value.
No elevator in a 3/4 level hotel.
- Narumon (10/5): - ทุดอย่าดี แต่น้ำไหลเบามากๆ
- JoannaN1678 (10/5): Clean and Cosy Hotel Room - Spent three nights at this hotel. The rooms were clean and spacious. Bottled drinking water was provided daily. Simple breakfast was included in the price paid. Couldn't have ask for more for the price paid. Will try the affordable laundry service for my next stay.
- bormanator (8/5): Good place for a night - Big clean halls and rooms. Good shower, hot water. Comfortable bed and pillows, 2 more in the closet. Shampoo and gel in the shower, 2 big towels, 2 hand towels. LCD TV. Good WIFI all the time. Breakfast was just okay, fried eggs in a pan, self serve toast, juice, coffee but tea bags are extra. Asian noodle dishes. It was 100 baht from the airport, the taxi driver said all rides in Mae Sot are 100 baht flat fee. Big dining area open for breakfast, but you can order from a room service menu, low prices. Sadly, there was no Coke, just some Fantas. Two free waters, snacks for sale in the lobby, such as Lays chips in a tube. Some bicycles for rent, 20 baht per hour. Very quiet at night, I slept well. Friendly staff with good English. A pool would have been nice.
- Dieter (8/5): Simple but nice Hotel - Simple but nice facilities and rooms; very nice spacious bathroom.
- RogNok1 (8/5): Mr R G UK - Very pleased to have chosen this hotel.
Staff very welcoming & helpful.
Room very clean and bed comfortable.
Stayed for 4 nights whilst visiting family in the area.
Very convenient position.
Breakfast adequate but choice limited.
Would I stay again if visiting the area?
Yes, without question.
- eriche2013 (10/5): Comfortable, clean and great Staff - We spent 2 nights at this excellent Hotel while visiting Mae Sot. Our room was large, comfy king sized bed, spacious bathroom with a nice hot shower. Excellent Wifi and great air con. Staff were extremely helpful with advice on local markets etc. and arranged a great English speaking driver/guide who took us on a half day tour of the area. We enjoyed this tremendously. Would definitely recommend this Hotel. Thanks J2 !
- Alfred06 (6/5): Charge to much for what they offer in my opinion. - Check in was a problem as I had no voucher - did not need any on my trip - Hotels had their confirmation mail already on the desk usually.
And the receptionist did not have the possibility to check their e-mails. Boss not there. He offered me to sort it out later and let me in a room. The Boss arrived soon later and it was sorted out.
No elevator, but funny stairs signs. Kcal you use up on each stair up. Lol
After I declined a 3rd floor room, I got a first floor room.
Really small windows give you only limited daylight, few on roofs, so zero.
Tv only DW Tv in English. Breakfast for Thais ok.
Anyway in my opinion, the price I paid threw Trip Advisor was at least 30% to high, for what the Hotel and rooms is really worth.
- 776andrewc (10/5): Very clean and comfortable - This was a great option in the heart of Mae Sot. Very spartan but everything was clean and comfortable. The breakfast good but simple, other food can be ordered by staff in the lobby. The staff were very helpful - great value.
- 653klk (8/5): Convenient, Clean, Quiet but walk-up - A bit pricey if not for its location in town and being newer than the other establishments. Nice bedding and clean. Spacious room and nice shower area. Basic amenities. Walk up - no elevators. Breakfast simple.
- nigelgrier (8/5): Very clean and spacious hotel in downtown Mae Sot. - This is a great value hotel in downtown Mae Sot. Rooms are reasonably priced and amazingly clean, reasonable breakfast but no other meal service.
Staff are very friendly and helpful, will stay here again.
- Mezza1980 (8/5): Clean and good location - Does exactly what it says on the tin. Beds are nice and comfortable, and rooms are clean and large.
2 minutes from the local market.
We stopped here for just one night while on are way to Mae Hong Son.
- thundt (8/5): No elevator, fyi - Nice enough place, location is good, you can walk into the main part of town (lots of street food), good breakfast too.. Be aware there is no elevator despite the place looking otherwise pretty modern and up to date. Would stay again.
- D4VE88 (10/5): A Great Place to stay - A very clean hotel with very helpful staff.
Well worth staying at if you are in the area.
We would stay here again & it was a shame that we only stayed one night.
The breakfast is simple but good.
The hotel looks to have been recently renovated.
- CharnP_13 (8/5): Simple Deco that Works - J2 Hotel is a moderate type of accommodation for upcountry in Thailand. The concept started with a simple building with 45 rooms. The ground floor is the lobby, public toilet facility, and coffee shop for buffet breakfast. The room rates of Bht850 and Bht1200 are affordable for all types of visitors. With the simple concept, the hotel is attracting constant guests all year round. In turn, the place is kept clean, fresh, and bright. All import daily items e.g. beddings, towels are clean and relatively new. Good value for money.
- Karfai (10/5): Friendly hotel - stay here for one night on my last night in Mae sot, find the staff are very friendly.
the hotel is next to an evening market which you are find nice foods. my room was at 3rd floor and i have to walk up to the room as there is no lift service.
room is clean and shower is good.
- FBFranz71 (8/5): Best lodging in town - We spent the night here recently after riding up from Hua Hin in our motorcycle tour of Thailand. First impression was positive - the hotel looks newish & well kept. Rooms were large , comfy & clean. Bathroom was large as well. Breakfast is limited but adequate. Well worth your $.
- BendigoAngel (8/5): Comfortable and clean - We booked the J2 after a less than average 1st stay in MaeSot. It was very comfortable and clean. Breakfast supplied daily and they supplied us with a good range, however it would have been great to have some fruit with breakfast. Having said that, the markets which were amazing were only a 2 minute walk away. The staff were always helpful and friendly giving advice for a manicure, pedicure and taking us there. They also offered us a transfer to the MaeSot airport. We'll stay there again next time.
- stevecM2514TO (10/5): Clean and modern - This hotel was a joy to stay in. Room was clean bright and very spacious with a large shower room and all designed rather than just functional. Would definately go back. Staff were helpful and spoke some English. Some good restaurants and night spots 200m walk away
- NathanWallbridge (6/5): J2 Hotel - Maesod - Arrived without booking at about 9pm, staff were friendly, showed us a room all looked OK so checked in.
We had a double with balcony which was very clean and bright, basic but in this town clean odour free and bright is as good as you can hope for. LCD TV, kettle and coffee, large comfortable bed (not too hard) pillows were fine, large bathroom with clean shower. A little expensive for what you get but just fine. The only problem with the room was when returning from dinner there was a few ants making their way under the door. Soon sorted with insect repellent spray to the bottom of the door.
Breakfast was very basic.
- EVOLeuvenBelgium (8/5): Good value - We stayed one night on road from Mae Sariang to Sukhotai. The hotel is really great value for the money; noting fancy but everything is OK and the staff speaks good English and very helpful. The hotel is not really central but no worries; eating places, shops etc are plenty very close to the hotel.Do also visit the Borderline shop for nice handicraft from Burmese refugees - you do help women employment by buying there, or have a tea and a meal.
- Sunshine811947 (6/5): OK hotel - J2 is an OK hotel in Mae sot. location is not very central, but it is almost next door to an authentic Thai market place. Rooms are big and clean. No mini-bar, but the reception sells beer and stuff at reasonable prices. No restaurant. Service is great. Breakfast is - like almost at any hotel in Thailand - awful: bad coffee, cold eggs and that is about it...
- 3timothys (10/5): rare delight - this was our 3rd stay at J-2 ...no disappointments any of the three times. i dont know who owns the place..but they have set a standard for cleanliness that is rare for Mae Sot...there is no elevator but thats not a huge issue. front desk staff will drop everything to carry luggage for you
