Guest Reviews
- Sarah (10/5): Perfect - Organised this for my parents as a xmas present.
Couldnt fault it. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
- malcolm (8/5): One or 2 slight disappointments but some will not bothersomeguests - As long as you can cope with a nightime visit downstairs to the loo on a twisting slightly smooth wooden staircase then OK....also walking on a gravel path in the dark carrying a 17kg suitcase was challenging for a 77 yr old....one or 2 other minor issues..but overall a pleasant stay.
I did contact the owners about all of my issues
- Paul (10/5): Highly recommended. - Fantastic place to stay, everything we needed for a long weekend, quiet and private. Perfect location to explore the area. Highly recommended, would definitely book again if we’re in the area.
- Karen (10/5): You couldn't want for more. - We had a fantastic couple of nights at the Apple Shed. It was comfy and cosy and very well furnished and equipped. You couldn't want for more. The hosts were very communicative, giving very detailed and helpful information. They had left lots of nice things to eat, such as Sourdough bread, eggs, crumpets, cereal, juice, milk, cookies and chocolate. I would say the place was even nicer in reality than in the pictures. We would definitely return here if we were to stay in the area again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very comfortable stay. - My girlfriend and I had a lovely stay at the apple shed. The accommodation is clean and very comfortable. If was nice having the kitchen to make drinks and snacks though we ate out in places in the area. Lovely selection of breakfast items and treats left for us. We'd recommended a meal at La Campagne down the road, it was very nice. A lovely trip and we'd certainly stay again next time we're in the area.
- JULIA (10/5): - Loved our stay at the Apple Shed. Enjoyed being out in the countryside between Bristol and Bath
- Edwin (10/5): The Apple Shed - The accommodation was really comfortable and we were able to enjoy a relaxing weekend. The location was ideal for Bath and other parts of the West Country that we wanted to visit. So different from a hotel and we would recommend it to anyone that is self-sufficient and happy with their own company. Thank you for a great weekend.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely stay - Really lovely cosy property in a good location. Bed was very comfortable, great shower, really nice living area. Lovely place to just sit & relax. Breakfast/snack provisions were very good. We'd definitely recommend to others. My only grumble is that a 10 am check out is early, especially considering you're asked to strip the bed & gather the towels for laundry before you leave.
- Ben (10/5): - This is an amazing self contained house, well presented and clean. Many supplies given including blankets in lounge and breakfast supplies. Private areas to sit outside which are also very quiet and relaxing. Is a place you can easily see yourself living in permanently and only downside is when you have to leave. There is a great community shop near by or a co-op with petrol station not much further. Bath centre is also very close which has mixture of great shops and historic sites.
You will not be disappointed, there is nothing the owners have forgotten or left out to make your stay the best it can be
- MARIA A (10/5): - Amazing!!! Beautifully decorated and super clean and tidy.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The property was well appointed with a lot of modern equipment could be a bit confusing for the less technologically minded like me however it was still very comfortable and quiet
- Ivan (8/5): Enjoyable, shame about the weather! - Very good stay with just a couple of minor issues. Very quiet and private setting.
- Wayne (10/5): Perfection, couldn't fault it!! - What a wonderful place to stay for 2 nights whilst on business. Stayed in many places around the area and this has been by far the best.
Looking forward to staying again in the future.
Thank you.
- Beth (10/5): Lovely stay, lovely place. - Lovely stay. The place was extremely clean, had everything you’d want and need and there were some lovely little touches like some local fresh bread and butter along with the usual eggs and milk etc. They even had a big bowl of sweets and share chocolate bar 😃
The bathroom was lovely and amazing shower with lots of nice baskets of towels and flannels.
Was a really lovely place and we want to stay again. Big thumbs up 👍
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The Apple Shed is a delightful little cottage with all the comforts of home. With a large kitchen, open living area and spacious bedroom on the first floor. Very clean throughout, with the owners on hand to offer assistance and advice.
- Katie (10/5): A+ staycation - We had an amazing and relaxing stay at the Apple Shed and will be visiting again! The properly is just lovely and decorated to a very high standard and extremely comfortable! It is located just outside Bath so perfect for a day trip. The hosts were so attentive and welcoming and left goodies for our arrival which was just a special touch!! Highly recommend to all!
- Sharon (10/5): Certainly not a shed!! - Beautiful place very clean and comfortable. Added extra's were a lovely surprise.
- Antonia (10/5): West Country Staycation - Excellent property well situated to explore Bath, Wells, and surrounds. Very clean with a delicious selection of local goodies for breakfast. Lovely quality sheets and towels and the bed itself was a delight.
Would not hesitate to recommend.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely! - Gorgeous place. We had a lovely few relaxing days and appreciated the welcome package
- Jodie (10/5): The Beautiful Apple Shed - The Apple Shed is a stunning but cosy rural property which we stayed in during our mini break to Bath. Accommodation was immaculate throughout, fantastic wet room and kitchen facilities fully equipped for those wishing to self-cater and touches such as toiletries, Egyptian cotton towels and food treats upon our arrival definitely adds to the 5star rating I give. The hosts communication and organisation right from the booking was excellent including giving directions to the property. I would happily stay again and already recommended it to others.
- Rosalind (10/5): - Excellent little property. Comfortable and cosy. The owner left lots of provisions which was great.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location. Quiet and had everything you need for a break away!
- Alex (10/5): Absolute gem! - This place is a great find. A really high quality property superbly finished. It has everything you could need for a self catering break and is ideally located almost equidistant between Bristol and Bath. The owners left us plenty of goodies in the kitchen too which really was the icing on the cake. We’ll happily come back here in the future and would recommend to anyone seeking a few days away in the area.
- Wendy (10/5): Well appointed and good location - Great weekend in a great location for Bath & Wells and Cheddar Gorge. Great bathroom with walk in shower, lots of fresh towels and luxury toiletries. Bed very comfortable. Only downside long gravel path from car parking not good for wheeled cases and doors tricky to open/close. Light switches took a bit of fathoming too. Loads of choices for breakfast and a kitchen if you want to buy and cook your own stuff - eggs supplied. Lots of restaurants locally too.
- Verified traveler (10/5): The perfect little break away - Fantastic break away, perfect little hideaway.
Owners went over and above with all the extras provided, what a lovely surprise. Literally everything was catered for.
Really easy to find with the directions provided in the email that was sent to me as soon as i’d booked.
Loads of information at the “The apple shed” regarding places to visit around the area, and if you like walking a lovely little book of walks around Timsbury.
Lastly............OMG the bed is so comfortable.
Can’t wait to return.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We’ve just stayed here for 3 nights and we had such a lovely break. It’s beautiful, modern and clean and the hosts have thought of everything. More than the essentials were provided and there were so many lovely extra touches. It was like a little home away from home, we were so comfortable. We even cancelled a dinner out in Bath to have another evening eating in and relaxing. Brilliant location for exploring Bath, we used the Odd Down park and ride which was really convenient and easy. We honestly didn’t want to leave, it’s just not the sort of stay you’d ever get from a hotel. Thank you for such a wonderful break.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The Apple Shed was wonderful - it really was a home away from home; spacious, comfortable, private and quiet. So much breakfast food was provided that we never would have gone hungry!
- Munira (8/5): Luxury place that makes you feel at home - Such a lovely place and the owner was really helpful as I was on my own.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - The Apple Shed is a very cosy, comfortable and well decorated barn conversion. Situated in an ideal position for us as we wanted to visit Bristol, Bath, Wells and The Brecon Beacons. The free breakfast included eggs, milk, tea, coffee, fruit loaf, bread, cereals, jam, honey and marmalade. There were also a few extra goodies which were very much appreciated. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This property was the perfect weekend getaway. Close up bath and a few great pubs close by. Would thoroughly recommend. A more that generous stock of breakfast as well. Thanks so much
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely setting and beautiful property. Thoughtful owners and buoyed our stay.
- Hazel (10/5): Private and comfortable - Private and comfortable cottage, well equipped and perfect parking space. Easy access to Bath. We used the park and ride from Newbridge and this worked perfectly and is inexpensive. The only disadvantage for us was having a very heavy large suitcase that we needed to carry down the gravel path. A beautiful well stocked kitchen, a most enjoyable stay.
- Nicola (10/5): A wonderful romantic cottage - near to Bath - This is a fantastic property in beautiful surroundings near to Bath. The owners have thought of everything to make your stay welcoming and wanting for nothing. From the plentiful breakfast (including a variety of cereals, bread, jams & honey, eggs, milk, tea and coffee) to the chilled bottle of wine to end the day. There was also a lovely array of toiletries in the bathroom and loads of white fluffy towels. The open plan kitchen & lounge is ideal and well thought out. We were lucky enough to have good weather and was able to sit outside and enjoy the private garden. We would definitely recommend it to anyone and will be coming back here again. Thank you for a wonderful stay - 3 nights just wasn’t enough 😊
- Nigel (10/5): Excellent accommodation close to Bath and Wells - The Apple Shed was easy to find and equipped to a very high standard. Food-wise, more than just the essentials were generously provided: tea, coffee, sugar, bread, milk, fruit, cereals, yoghurts, jams, wine and a bottle of bubbly! The garden was very private and the weather enabled us to enjoy our meals outside on the patio.
We found a beautiful walk around the fields which we did every morning (about 1 hr) before breakfast and planning the day. We used the Bath Park & Ride (Newbridge) 3 days and then visited Wells and the Mendips on 2 days.
We regularly go self-catering and this was the best cottage we have ever experienced. It was over and above what we expected.
Gerne wieder.
- elona (10/5): Above expectations - beautiful cottage, with every comfort you could ask for and more. (no washing machine but who wants that on holiday) EVERYTHING is perfect, it felt homely, yet high class. not one bad word to say. no one would be disappointed stayingnhere
- Steve (10/5): Great stay for a business trip - Fantastically well presented accomodation, very clean, comfy, and well stocked. Would definitely stay here again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very comfortable and well thought out - Beautiful property, equipped to the highest standard. Warm and comfortable. Good choice of food left for breakfast. The only downside for me is the bathroom is downstairs, by this wouldn't put me off returning in the future.
- Sue (10/5): very quaint pleasant building - A very warm welcome by Jason. Everything we needed and much more (breakfast bits were amazing, plenty of everything) Very comfortable, quiet and good location for the park and ride to go into Bath itself.
Local amenities good and plenty of places to eat out. Will definitely recommend and stay again if we are that way.
- Chloe (10/5): Perfect! - This place is so lovely! My boyfriend and I have just returned from 3 nights at The Apple Shed and we couldn't have chosen a nicer place to stay. Great location 15mins outside of Bath and we found a handy park and ride to use to avoid city parking costs. There was a free car parking space outside the property. The accommodation was fantastic, interior was beautifully decorated and it had everything you could need and more - we especially loved the goodies in the kitchen. Perfect for couples wanting time away together. Hosts were also brilliant, rang to confirm we were still coming and offered to help with any queries. I think we will definitely be returning! Thank you very much
- Jonathan (10/5): Beautiful cosy getaway, loads to do nearby - We had a fantastic stay between Christmas and New year and we’re just sad to have to leave!
Thank you
- J (10/5): The Apple Shed - Beautiful hotel, pictures don't do it justice. Well stocked and James was really nice and helpful.
- Will (10/5): Quiet, Comfortable and Charming - Booked for 3 nights with my girlfriend. Had a wonderful stay, an extremely comfortable, quiet conversion within easy reach of Bath. The hosts were extremely helpful and friendly, assisted with directions and queries even before arrival. Already recommended to my family and friends!
- Alina (10/5): quiet comfy country place - suitable for all tastes . tastefully decorated and very pleasant place to relax. breacfast and more were made available . would like to book it again for next summer
- Adam (6/5): Nice place but not a good sleep - Really well finished place with a lot of nice touches. We were slightly disappointed that the breakfast consisted of some bread, crumpets, marmalade, cereal and eggs which had been pre-stocked in the kitchen. Would have been nice to have some cooked meat/Danish etc. as usual with a continental breakfast. There was a bottle of wine and plenty of milk/mineral water etc which was nice. Also lots of entertainment with a nice curved TV, blueray etc.
Location is good and central for Bath and Longleat but only a couple of nice places to eat, one of which was fully booked so might be worth booking in advance if you stay here. Good chippy close by if like us you can't get a table.
The main problems we had were around sleep. There is a window opposite the bed with no curtains/blinds so as soon as the sun comes up you are awake, the bed is a double which is a bit small for us and it was on wheels - on a wooden floor so whenever we moved the bed would rock and roll!
We ended up leaving a day early as builders turned up next door at 9am playing music, grinding, hammering and drilling which was unfortunately the final nail for us so also worth checking the building work has finished before booking.
- Verified traveler (10/5): The Apple Shed
- I stayed at The Apple Shed for five nights. The accommodation was clean and very comfortable. I particularly appreciated the bed. The wet room too, with its numerous extra towels and bits and bobs. The fridge was left with bottles of water, a carton of fruit juice, butter, milk and eggs. There was also bread and crumpets available as well as tea, coffee, hot chocolate and a box of posh chocolate biscuits! On the counter there was a huge bowl of loose sweets - too tempting!
Any problems or queries at the property and help was at hand.
I went to Bristol and to Bath during my stay. 'The Pig' ,near Bath, proved to be a lovely place to visit - very helpful and welcoming staff. Varied usage of the large grounds made them well worth exploring. The pig shaped biscuits, along with other biscuits that we had with our coffee, were fun and particularly appreciated by my young granddaughter.
