Guest Reviews
- Lee (6/5): - Room size great, nice to have a fridge & microwave (didn't use only stayed one night but they worked I checked) bed was very comfy and clean, plenty of free parking outside hotel.
The only negative and a big one was only luke warm water for shower in morning, I mean luke warm had shower at 9am, check out was 10am.
- Osman (2/5): - I discourage anyone who will book this property. Very tiny squeezy rooms. The toilet flash was faulty. The shower rooms are very squyezy you cant bend while washing. Then the worst no hot shower, when I asked I was told they are not responsible for repair but someone else. I had to wash my private face and private parts and leave. The wifi signal isn't reaching the rooms. The carpets are very dirty. The only good think is there is a fridge and microwave in the squeezy room. The danger is, if their is fire emergency you'll all be roasted in these rooms. I will never go to this hostel. Cheap is expensive.
- Dean (10/5): - Mini Break
- Bernard (6/5): - No food service or bar Just basic room smell from drains the room was clean
- Michael (6/5): - The bedroom was scrupulously clean, bedding, towels fluffy and soft, the bathroom spotless. That's what I liked.
- Julia (6/5): Basic but fulfilled our needs - Top end by pleasure beach and casino
Clean ,parking handy opposite
Staff a little confused as we gave ref of hotels.com
They wanted 10 digit Experian ref
Shower needed to run but for money was clean and what was needed
Note lots of stairs and windy -probably not good with lots baggage or suitcases
Although there is a lift we didn’t use it so can’t comment on how useful it was
Curtains up but one didn’t open
Kettle tea coffee facilities there a but a little tickle pickledy
Microwave in room too
- Akintunde (2/5): More like a 1-star hotel the claimed 3-star! - Unmanned reception with countless notices. Took 5 minutes to find the bell located in a corner to call for check-in.
The floor carpets are very dirty!!!
No fan or air-conditioning, so a very muggy night!
More like a 1-star hotel the claimed 3-star!
- Linda (6/5): - The good part was the beds were clean the lift was ancient the shower was about 1’ of the floor not easy to get out of the plug socket was not secured to the wall properly there was hardly any one on the reception if you needed anything would not recommend
- Jeshan (6/5): - Reception was welcoming. Room was moderate but most of the furnitures were broken or somehow kept in one piece. Bathroom door was barely hanging, there wasn't any railings to hangs the towels in the bathroom either. Could be better based on the price they are charging. Good thing was the short walk to the beach.
- Alison (4/5): I doubt the hotel has the stars as advertised. - Lift was small, luckily my partners mobility scooter was a fold up one.
Room was extremely hot even with the window open.
Shower head was dirty, mould on sealant in shower, taps scaled up.
No hot water to wash or shower with.
There was a leak i think maybe from an overflow pipe, water was hitting a roof nearby to our window so, with that and the heat didn't sleep very well.
Bed appeared comfortable although didnt get under the covers as it was so hot, the floor felt hot i presume from pipes so, i dont know why the hot water wasnt getting to the taps.
- ROBERT (8/5): - It was nice room
- Jenna (8/5): - You get what you pay for it was a lovely stay. Microwave, kettle and fridge provided. I bought my own coffee and tea and sugar. There is a little shop round the corner that really is a fab convenience store. They sell everything! So got some milk as those little cartons aren’t nice.
Pillows were lovely, mattress was a bit springy I could feel the springs in my lower back but still slept really well. The man who greeted us at the desk on arrival was really nice and friendly.
One absolute saving grace is the lift. The stairs next to the lift are so steep that when I was carrying the suitcase my knee gave way but I had a walking stick made by my Dad which I’m so glad I took with me. It’s lovely for anyone to stay. Be it singles, couples and families. Hen and stags too if they got out in the basement or top floor 😈 I didn’t know whether or.not they did food. The gentleman on the desk didn’t say but there’s so many places to eat and suck a variety! Don’t go to the beefeater next to the pleasure beach. Miserable woman at front of house, bad service and food was really really disappointing. Go to the Acke carvery in Caister-on-Sea instead. Absolutely perfect I would have eaten there e wry evening if we would have found it sooner!
For.the shower, once you twiddle with the water coming thru the shower head settings and carefully control the temp and pressire knobs you can get it to your preference it just takes patience.
- Colin (8/5): - Location was great, on the beach front
- Stuart (10/5): - There is nothing not to like bout st george hotel i booked it for me and the missus and the baby and we had a spacious room with a baby cot in the room fresh towls everyday we was there and room was very clean and tidy
- Grace (2/5): - Bit dirty but you only get what you pay for .very run down . Had goid sleep
- Diane (6/5): - Its a very old hotel needs a refurb and the drains clearing to stop the sewage smell coming up in bathroom
- Verified traveler (6/5): Needs a freshen up / good clean! - Location was good, stones throw away from the beach. Luckily we managed to get a free parking space outside the hotel itself but on another day I’m sure the parking around the area can be a nightmare.
Floorboards in the room were horrific. So noisy and you could also hear a lot of noise from nearby rooms. There was also drilling of some sort at 7:30am which continued for over an hour.
Cups/mugs that were provided in the room weren’t clean before we used them.
There were holes in the wall and a lot of general dust/hairs around the room.
To summarise, you pay for what you get. It’s cheap and there’s a good reason for that. It’s not sparkling clean, not very modern, and it can be very noisy at times. The big positive is location.
- Sharon (6/5): - Lift very slow to arrive ir was quicker to walk. No biscuits
- Christine (6/5): - Food options non existent as restaurants closed but there was a take away menu. Beds comfortable but could do with better pillows but generally needs a refurb 00
- Matt (4/5): - Poor
- Peter (4/5): - No food no bar the beds no comfortably
- Alan (4/5): - Absolutely terrible . Would not recommend . How it gets an overall good rating on Expedia is beyond me .👎👎👎👎
- Amandeep (6/5): - We stayed here as a last minute choice and overall we were happy with it.
Pros:
Good price
Clean room with a fridge and microwave
Excellent location
Easy to check in and check out
Cons:
Be aware that the bar/dining is no longer operating
There is parking outside the hotel but you may not get a space right away
The reception area and corridors need a renovating to make them lighter (perhaps new carpet)
- Lee (2/5): - Absolutely disgusting no hot water rude staff with no clue what day it is checked out within 5 minutes of walking in the manager didnt want to help & told us to leave with no refund as we handed the keys back I wouldn’t even let my animals stay there 😡
- Gino (6/5): - Free parking
- Douglas (10/5): - Stayed here many times, always found it great value for money. Rooms are clean, but standard, staff are friendly.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Traditional Old Seaside Hotel - Its a very dated property, but it gives it that real seaside hotel feel about it. Traditional!
The rooms are clean with a modern bathroom (lacking shelf space in the bathroom).
But lots of facilities in the room, and the daily maid service was great, giving us more bottled water and towels on a two night stay.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Average to poor at best - Its the same story with alot of these hotels that are quite big and do not have the budgets to match.
- Nicola (4/5): - Check in was ok, room was very small with a tiny window, curtain only covered half of the window, stains on the bedding and the previous guests false lashes stuck to the bathroom tiles, it says free parking but good luck with finding a space, wouldn’t feel safe around that area late at night
- Hugo (6/5): - Close distance to the seaside
- Richard (6/5): - .
- George (8/5): - Great budget hotel. Nice , clean and good location. Price of the room was very good. Good bathroom, toiletries supplied and clean towels. Lovely comfy bed. Room was a tad hot but it was heatwave. All in all a great stay over.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - very central location and quiet area
- Terence (4/5): - The picture of the reception room is deceiving; it is not like that at all. It was dark and dull. The lift, for a mobility scooter, just fits in the lift. The slope at the front of the hotel is too steep for a mobility scooter to get up, so my husband had to get into the Hotel the back way. The room was okay, but the bed was not comfortable. We would not stay again even for one night.
- Richard (6/5): - Was an half eaten scotch egg left in fridge no breakfast but was on our last stay and the noise from room opposite was disturbing
- louisa (8/5): - .
- Haroon (6/5): - A fairly cheap room, adequate for what was needed. Bit noisy and buildings surrounding hotel in need of repair. Overall a good hotel for an overnight stay, good facilities and friendly staff, quick check in.
- Pauline (6/5): - Check in was fine . Parking very good . Close to the beach and amenities . It’s a very old hotel. Floorboards creek. Windows rattle. The shower (lol) took 15 mins to get warm, not hot as the signs indicated , and little more than a trickle . Adequate for our 1 night impromptu visit to the seaside with 2 children . Sadly no food or bar at the hotel . My fault I didn’t read the specs properly . Plenty of places close by though .
Luckily the weather was lovely. I wouldn’t stay again or recommend it . But it sufficed for one night .
- Wing (6/5): - It was very good location. Seafront, Beach are couple of minutes walks. Room was ok. But the shower was very weak. Hot water ran out in one evening but did came back. It was ok. Have parking as well.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Disgusting hotel! - This hotel was disgusting - the receptionist asked us to check which room we were supposed to be staying in, the hallway stunk of urine, the bed linen was dirty AND there were bed bugs!!!! Stayed less than an hour before we caught something!!
- Tina (10/5): - Would be nice to have cooked meals
- linda (8/5): Lovely hotel near the seafront - Had a lovely room for me and my husband front of hotel. Double bed, also a single bed . Room was clean, and had a fridge, and a microwave if u needed it. No noise outside at night. Perfect cheap place for the one night, will be back!
- Norman (8/5): - Definitely could do with updating, but our room was very clean with comfortable bedding, plus fridge and microwave.
Such a shame the dining area is not used, would have been nice to have breakfast on site.
- Nosipho (8/5): - Liked the bedroom
- lolly (6/5): - the shower door was broken
- Barry (8/5): - Nice and clean, quiet location but only a 3-5 min walk from amusements.
Only draw back bit of a musty smell in the shower which wasnt very powerful, more of a trickle....but overall, comfortable and clean
- Rachel (10/5): Short stay - The hotel is very old and very quaint most of which is nice but could do with updating in most of the hotel. The room is nice with a fridge, microwave and kettle. Daily water bottles were left. The bathroom is really small but clean and tidy. Close to the main strip with shops, food stalls and entertainment and also close to the beach makes this hotel a good choice.
- sadiya (8/5): - There was a fridge and microwave in all the rooms which was really handy with a toddler. Close to all amenities and across from SeaLife.
Will stay here again.
- Louis (8/5): Nothing extraordinary, Got the job done - Great hotel check in was easy shame about the smelly bathroom we had although we was in the basement, how ever for a quick one night stay was ideal. You get what you pay for I guess. Great place as a base.
- Lord Simon (4/5): Good host... Bad hotel. - Host was polite & helpful... That's the only good thing I can say... Lift was like it was taken from the titanic only work when people remembered to shut the door, not helpful when you had disabled guests like us staying... Room was a double but was barely big enough for a single bed... Bed was harder than sleeping on the floor, had no headboard & only 1 pillow each, bathroom was way too tiny, & as the door was that thin we could hear everything going on outside the room... Got no sleep... But host was helpful & polite.
- Sarah (4/5): - Very unpleasant smell on first entering our room. Shower was not powerful at all and could not regulate the temperature, it was scalding hot so you could not have a proper shower. No flat surface in the shower to put anything like soap. Shaving light not working. Sliding door to the bathroom but no runner along the bottom so not secure. TV very small and very limited channels. Bed not that comfortable. We had booked 2 rooms and in the neighbouring room, the TV would not work at all and the toilet was very cramped next to the wall. Shower also very minimal power. Very old lift in the hotel and very temperamental. Only good thing about the rooms was a decent size fridge, and the location was good. Would not stay here again, do not understand how it is a 3-star rating.
- Zoe (6/5): - Great location, parking available at the front of the property, however very limited with other hotels using so many be hard in season to get a place. Walking distance to sea was 2 mins with a small corner shop on the main street with a small selection of food and drink.
Room was large however there was a smell of weed in the room and the windows are painted closed so couldn't get rid of it. We may have just been unlucky. No bar or restaurant on site, this may have just been off season but worth checking if that's something you require. Room did have a microwave and fridge so if staying for work that would be helpful, save eating out.
Small lift available to all floors if required. Staff friendly as in welcoming but no information on local facilities etc just the basic.
So many restaurants and bars open within walking distance and of course amusement arcades.
The price was more than reasonable for two people and was worth it for the location I would hope we just got unlucky with the room. The main reason we wouldn't return is the parking as so limited even off season it was full and one of the hotels in the road was closed. But from a price point you do get what you pay for and it was very reasonable.
- Jo (4/5): Pay cheap you get cheap - You get what you paid for…very cheap and chearful. Definitely don’t expect a proper shower as you just have a small trickle.very dated, curtains hanging off, stains on walls.i was ok apart from being knackered getting up all the stairs my daughter didn’t like it at all said it was like being in a church and my son was unsure .if you just want a base to lay your head then it’s worth it.
- Trish (10/5): Great value for money, I'll be back. - Perfect onsite parking directly outside the hotel. 5mins walk to the beach and other attractions, shops, arcades etc. Old building with dated decor, carpets and rooms. Still had everything needed to have an enjoyable stay, fridge, microwave and kettle in room. A lift in main reception which I used to take my luggage up to 3rd floor. At £35 a night, I will definitely be booking again. Very pleasant front of house staff 😊
- Verified traveler (6/5): Basic, cheap hotel with a few problems - The hotel was very friendly, welcoming & helpful, room had a welcome tray, tv, fridge microwave & hairdryer. The room was cold when speaking to reception it was explained that the heating is switched on in the evening.TV had freeviewr but due to intimitant WiFi only basic channels worked. WiFi was provided but signal very poor. Free local parking on the road in front of hotels & a decent sized car park at the back of the hotel. The hotel had an old fashion lift or stairs to the room. We were on the ist floor & stairs from reception took us up, along corridors with the odd step or steps, down stairs to our room, however we found another staircase by our room which took us directly into the lounge, up a ramp & back to reception level. The had 1 tap which moved around, so had to be careful or it had ran down the edge of the sink unit, room was cold until the heating came on. We would definitely recommend taking a dressing gown and slippers. There was no hot water in the evening and when we went to have a shower it took ages to warm up and then came out boiling hot (there was a sticker warning that it was very hot water) & there was no way to add cold water to cool it down. We had to abandon our showers & wash in the sink instead.Overall would of still stayed their again despite the tv & WiFi as it was welcoming, good value for money until we had the issue with the shower in the morning so now we are now unable to recommend this hotel & unfortunately will not be able to stay again
- matthew (8/5): - Have to say staff are so friendly and helpful, No doubt about this great location, It does require an update rooms spacious. Shame no breakfast or bar anymore like used to be but i class this as reasonably priced and you get adequate for the money you pay. Will definitely stay again.
- Adrian (6/5): - In need of decoration and updating
- Paul (8/5): - Good value and clean
- Shaun (4/5): - Receptionist was in a tracksuit and trainers and the property stank of cannabis, the room was extremely small, to the point the door only just closed past the bed, my wife left with bed bug bites, not good, spend a few extra pounds and stay somewhere in a better area with better facilities and cleanliness. The building across has recently been gutted by arson.
- Karen (4/5): Very tired but great location - A very dated and not the cleanest. Good if you just want somewhere cheap for a night
- Jane (4/5): Not the best - Got to the hotel and it looked ok from outside. Then went in nobody at reception so rang a bell that I found. Somebody came then we got told check out 10 am which was fine got given the key to our room then I asked what times breakfast they said there wasn’t breakfast but when I booked it said breakfast included so that was not good then went to our rooms not the best but we thought it’s one night the bedding was dirty in parts and the bed was rock hard so had to get blanket out of car to put over me to sleep on the duvet. We noticed a lot of foreign people here think living in the rooms. Glad it was just one night stay. Would not be returning
- Denise (8/5): - Friendly staff, we had a problem which was very quickly taken care of.
- Anthony (10/5): - Wonderful hotel ‘ was absolutely brilliant
- Paul (10/5): - Always nice and clean I will always when working in the area
- Tonia (8/5): - The room was clean, the hotel was lovely, the staff were helpful and very friendly, the room had a fridge and a microwave which we had not experienced anywhere before this added a lovely touch 😀 we were there on a very windy weekend and the windy interfered with the tv but issues were soon rectified, the mattress wasnt the most comfortable but the price was right, yes i would recommend it and i would stay again, thankyou st george
- Verified traveler (8/5): Nice - It is well priced and good for a night or two
- Rachel (2/5): - The St George Hotel Gt Yarmouth is the worst Hotel We've ever stayed at. We were allocated room 128 on the first floor. On entering the room for the first time, we were greeted with a strong smell of a newly painted room. The room was totally uninhabitable for my me and my wife who has asthma. After a considerable time trying to find someone who could speak English we were allocated room 128 also on the first floor. This room had not been updated in a long time. You couldn't open the door unless the bed was moved. The wall lights at the end of bed were so low, that sitting on the bed to watch TV was impossible without knocking your head on the light fittings. The toilet was filthy and the leaking soil pipe had been bodged with mastic putty. There was thick Silicone Rubber all around the wash basin, bath and side panel that looked like it had been applied with a shovel. We were pleasantly surprised to find we had a bath. On closer inspection, it could not be used, as there was no bath plug. The wash basin plug was too small, to be useful for the bath. We had to make do with the shower head fitted to the bath taps for washing.
Walking from Reception into the Dinning area, being careful not to trip over the buckets collecting water from the ceiling as the roof was leaking in many places, we came across some tables in the dinning area. The tables were never used because no food was available at any mealtimes. Room 128 is next to the corridor Fire Door which banged constantly.
- Terence (6/5): - Paid £45 so it's difficult to criticise, whole hotel is clean but shabby. Took half an hour to run a bath which is either hot or cold but never mixed. Takes five mins to get hot then if you turn on cold it takes five mins again to get the hot back. TV remote didn't work and hot tap on sink was wobbling about. Radiator in bathroom worked but one in the room did not. Bed was very comfortable, had a lie in.
- Jimmy (4/5): - Hotel needs a lot off updating and the one in room next to us was playing music very loud knocked on door no answer and no one at reception as well curtains missing so people could see in plugs hanging off wall glad only paid £30 for the room and was only one night
- Carol (6/5): - It was clean, Basic
- Henning (4/5): - Tv only have BBC programs not good tv bed voubbeling bath bad , durty some places in the rooms no hangers for clothe toules small mix wather c/w not good pressure on water poor ,wify not access poor to .
Make over is low tired Hotel , need more action or upgreat in my mind , sleep was good .
- Frank (10/5): - Lovely host very accommodating
- Juliette (6/5): Clean, tidy budget room. - Room was as expected. Budget double room was clean and a comfortable bed.
Very close to Seafront, 1 minute walk. Street parking in front of Hotel.
Check-in was quick and easy, staff friendly. Would stay again.
- Wayne (2/5): Bad - Well we got keys to how room it add hair on bed and dirty when down to talk to manger he move has to to difficult room where shower did not get hot and water was slow and smell bad by is time I add enough told me to contact you I when cheers for that
- Jack (6/5): - I stayed here for 3 nights, the bed was comfy and tea/coffee/water was readily refilled. Shower was very weak and the WiFi barely worked but the stay was good overall and I was happy for what I payed for.
- Douglas (10/5): - Friendly staff, room was clean and comfortable. As my room was in the basement the Free wifi was great, as o2 network for Internet was poor. Will I return, yes was great for my short break.
- A (8/5): - I stayed here by myself for 2 nights. Check-in was fast & smooth, & literally took just a few minutes.
The hotel is dated, with old fashioned carpets, &
furniture, & the lift is very old & has a 2 door system.
Staff were friendly & helpful, & helped when I couldn't figure out how to work the TV!
The room - again this space was dated, but comfy & clean, however the carpet was a little worn, ruffled in places, & frayed around the edges.
My room had 3 beds, I'm assuming that this is their family room. There was a private on-suite bathroom, & the room also had a large flat screen TV, a fridge, microwave, kettle with cups, tea, coffee, milk, & bottles of water replaced daily.
This hotel also has free parking & free WiFi.
There was 1 double wardrobe & a double chest of drawers, these were modern (probably from IKEA.)
The bed was clean, soft & comfy, & I had a great night's sleep.
My only gripes were that my room door did not lock from the inside, so I pushed a bed up against it before bedtime, & the shower pressure is terrible, but doable. The only reason I didn't complain was because I didn't have time, I was gone first thing in the morning & came back late at night, so made do. I'm pretty sure had I complained, the hotel would have done thier best to accommodate me.
So in a nutshell, I wasn't prepared to pay £236 to stay at an alternative hotel, so I booked here for under £80, & I'm sooooo glad that I did. I enjoyed my stay & I would definitely come back.
- Matthew (6/5): - Basic and outdated, ok for a night
- Louise (10/5): - The property was clean and was quiet and our room was changed without having to ask when the man at reception saw my mum was in a wheelchair.
- Cheryl (6/5): - Within an easy walk to seafront and shops. Family room was a bit cramped but served well as a base. While bedding and bathroom were clean, other areas had been skimmed over. Limited breakfast options but hotel is within an easy walk of seafront cafes that serve a good breakfast. There is roadside parking opposite the hotel, although not exclusive to the it on a first come first served basis.
- Kelly (4/5): - Rooms very standard, which is fine, but toilet door didn’t shut. Sliding toilet door which flapped on the wind if the window was open so zero privacy.
Shower dirty. TV in room didn’t work.
On the plus side, beds were comfy 😊
- Ziaul (4/5): - Toilet flush not working
- Paul (6/5): - Was ok very basic but dacor was very worn and not very nice 4/10
- Derek (2/5): - This hotel is the worst that I have ever stayed in please be very weary it's the pits
- Lucky (8/5): - Great hotel
- Verified traveler (6/5): Theres budget hotels then there's this one! - Hotel advertised free parking but its mainly on the street. There is a car oark at the back but the staff aren't keen to let you in. The room we had was in the basement and looked like it had been where staff stayed. It had a double and singe bed, very large TV, fridge and a microwave. The bed was extremely uncomfortable wr coild feel every sping. We had to sleep on top of the duvet in order to make it even reasonable to lie on
- Caroline (4/5): - Shower not wrking lift extremely dangerous breakfast not very gd room too hot walls cracked and overall stay was bad
- PJ (6/5): - The location was great. Close to the seafront and good parking available on the street. The hotel is quite run down and woild benefit with a management that cares a little more.
You can easily hear the movements in the corridors and the room next to you. There were one small window in the room, so it can get quite hot in the summer time. The fridge isnt working and does not look cleaned, generallyit feels a bit more like a hostel.
In the bathroom, a small shower gel and shampoo bottles were provided, and there is a bag by the kettle with milk and 2 loose tea bags inside.
I have dots on the towels that was provided.
- Fiona (8/5): - Sadly as in all seaside resorts, there are a lot of run down buildings and the area looks a bit sad however the St George Hotel offers a wonderful location just across the road from the beach and it has onsite safe parking which is limited however we had no problems finding a parking spot. The rooms are not luxurious by a long chalk however they make up for that by providing a fridge, microwave, bottled water, hairdryer, toiletries and the bedding was very clean as were the towels. Sadly the restaurant and bar has closed permanently which is a sign of the times but for a couple of nights it was fun to enjoy arcades, ice cream parlours, fish and chips and the beautiful beach.
The staff are Eastern European and they were all very friendly and welcoming. If you want 5 star, this is not for you but otherwise it’s great for a couple of nights.
Also, big shoutout for the model village on the promenade, it was really enjoyable and a lot of work has gone into it, well worth a visit and you are allowed a re-entry in the following 7 days.
- Lauren (4/5): Wouldn’t recommend - Room was small, beds uncomfortable, tap in shower hard to control, no chair in room
Plug socket not working to charge phone
Not worth the money we paid. We said it’s a place to sleep and that’s it. NO BAR to buy cold drinks either
- Rebecca (2/5): - Hotel extremely run down. The first room we were offered was incredibly small, unclean with many broken items of furniture. Upon complaining, we were offered a larger room which was unfortunately in a similar state of disrepair. Due to budget, we did not have funds available to book alternative accomodation and were forced to stay.
The furniture everywhere is run down, and often damaged.
The bathroom was mouldy. The shower was controlled by a long, uncapped metal bar which risked injury when showering as it had to be pulled out facing forward for the shower to work.
It states on site parking, there is street parking opposite which is not exclusive for the hotel but for anyone to use and this during the height of summer parking anywhere near the hotel is a challenge.
Whilst a 'ramp' has been installed by the front steps, this is incredibly steep and not safe to use with many wheelchairs (mine couldn't be used on it). It boasts having a lift. The lift is so small that no wheelchair would fit through the doors, including a child's wheelchair.
The restaurant and bar have been closed and are to remain closed indefinitely.
There was.one staff member who moved our room but rarely seen beyond that, the front desk is not manned.
Neither of the rooms were cleaned properly.
Although it is close to the front and many attractions of Great Yarmouth, I would strongly discourage anyone from booking a stay here.
- Sarah (2/5): - This place i cannot believe is still allowed to trade. I dont know how they get through the council inspection. I dont know how Expedia can put their name to such a place. My fathers room, the shower only worked on cold. He then decided to have a strip wash and shave. The taps moved around in the basin socket. And once he had put the plug down and filled the basin, could not enpty it as had no lever to remove the plug!! Had to bail most of the water out with the platic cup!
Our room, my sons bed was wobbling. We had a family room. We had to literally step across the corner of the single bed to get to the wardrobe.
Pillows were pancakes. Had to use folded up sweaters underneath.
When we were dressed and going out for the day the next morning, the Yale lock on our door had 2 out of 3 screws missing. We found the screws on the carpet. Tried to put them back in, but they just wouldnt bind to the door. Looks to have been repaired numerous times. We therefore couldnt get out of our room. I started to panic. Rang the reception who did not answer. Managed to get us out by using my own key jimmied against the door frame and the door and pulled. HAD THERE HAVE BEEN A FIRE WE WPULD NOT HAVE GOT OUT.
Raised the sink/shower and our door lock issues with the reception once we located them. They said maintenence are there so will get them onto it. We went out for the day. Came back early afternoon. None of the works had been done to rectify so we there and then decided to go elsewhere
- Aleksandra (8/5): - Its ok for couple night, very old building...
- Steve (10/5): Excellent budget hotel - I had low expectations as was a very budget room but was pleasantly surprised. Room appeared to have been recently refurbished, was a good size with large window, comfortable bed, fridge and microwave, USB and mains ports including next to the bed for charging, complimentary bottled water and a good sized television. Bathroom was clean and modern. Only minor issue was I couldn’t seem to adjust the shower temperature.
- Vasile Nicolae (4/5): - Is to hoot no air con dearty room en old hotel no hot water is mix cold en hot
- Berthin (8/5): - The hotel is close to the beach and shops
- Francis (4/5): Wouldn't stay there again - Not a Hotel I'd recommend.
- Keith (6/5): - Liked Comfortable bed, quiet, nearby. free parking
- Maureen (6/5): Quite a nice hotel - Was nice and clean, comfortable beds, but very little room between the beds, no side tables, so no bedside lamps that we could use, really missed that, and sadly, the tv stations kept breaking up. They very kindly offered us another room, but seeing as were only there for 2 nights, stayed where we were. Also, good free parking, right opposite the hotel.
- Richard (6/5): - Nice wooden features in reception. Hotel is in slightly worn condition but very good value due to its low cost.
