• Steve (6/5): Pleasant. - The location on the seafront is outstanding Very basic accommodation and I struggled to get in to the hotel late at night.
• John (6/5): An older style guesthouse on the beach - It’s an older style guesthouse on the beach. There is free overnight parking on the street in front. It’s not far away from breakfast and dinner options in the town centre. The staff ( one person also operating the cafe on site) was very helpful and kind. It’s well overdue for a major renovation. The carpets are dirty and worn, and there’s only two shared bathrooms, although the rooms have toilets.

• Lucie (1/5): Didn’t stay as it was awful. - The beach view. Everything. It was disgusting and in need of a lot of work. There was mould in the bathroom, windows were filthy, paint and wallpaper peeling off, everything was grubby. The coffee table was not safe and had a kettle on, once slight budge and it would have toppled. The bed was pushed up to the wall which was filthy and next to a dusty vent. Tiles were loose in the bathroom. There was a skirt around the bed base which was covered in stains. We phoned Booking.com instantly and refused to stay there. We received a full refund and left.

• dannersR (6/5): Short stay in Aberystwyth - I loved the view from the room and that it was clean and spacious. We also had access to a kitchen which was really helpful. The location was excellent, right on the water. The bed was so uncomfortable. I felt every spring in the mattress and the walls were paper thin, so I didn't get very good sleep during my stay.

• Lucy (7/5): Great location and lovely views, good value for money. - The room had an exceptional view of the sea, and was in a great location. The bed was comfortable, the other rooms were quiet, and the room was clean for the most part. Good value for minute and booked about an hour before we arrived and everything was ready for us to check in. There was a lovely looking cafe downstairs as well as a kitchen we were told we could use which is very convenient. The room was a bit tired with peeling wallpaper and a fair bit of mould on the bathroom ceiling. The windows were also quite murky and very had to close, but I guess that’s what you get with the age of the building!

Friendly and helpful staff who allowed me to leave my large pack before check-in time. My room overlooked the ocean, so I could see the sunset! The downstairs sitting room was delightful and having a kitchen was an added bonus I hadn't expected. There was nothing negative excpet that the curtains were a little thin so the morning light came through.

Quiet - the reason for our visit was the funeral of a dear friend. Help with luggage up the stairs could have been offered on arrival, though luckily our friend’s son, who unexpectedly met us. stayed to help. A room clean during our four day stay would have been nice ( maybe once to empty bin and clean bathroom ).

• Dietmar (7/5): Eher rustikale Unterkunft in idealer Lage für weniger anspruchsvolle Gäste - Preisgünstige Unterkunft direkt am Stand, sehr bequemes Bett, bereits der malerische Sonnenuntergang über dem Meer ist den Zwischenstopp wert. Ich bekam leider ein einfach ausgestattetes Zimmer ohne Meerblick, eher plätschernde, nicht immer warme Dusche in einer anderen Etage und nicht im Zimmer.

• Muhammad Umair (9/5): Excellent stay - group of 5 in whole apartment - I had a fantastic stay at Cardigan Bay in Aberystwyth with a group of four friends. The apartment setup was perfect for us, with two comfortable double beds and two single beds, giving everyone plenty of space to relax after a long day of exploring and travelling . The location is truly unbeatable—right on the seafront, offering stunning views and easy access to the beach and nearby attractions. Waking up to the sound of the waves and enjoying evening walks along the promenade was a highlight of our trip. The hotel itself was clean, well-maintained, and very welcoming. The staff were friendly and accommodating, making sure we had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The check-in and check-out process was smooth and hassle-free. Overall, it was a great experience, especially for a group trip. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Aberystwyth, whether you’re traveling with friends or family. We would definitely stay here again! Check-in should be extended to accommodate guests coming from far along.

• Martin (5/5): Dissapointed manager - Manager attitude. Double booked us and expected us to sort out when I got angry it was sorted but took me gringo angry before anything wad done. He could have solved immediately bit though it was funny. Very dissapointed 😞

Everything was clean and quite comfortable for a one night stay. We also had a the option of using a common kitchen with other residents though we ended up eating out as there is a wide variety to choose from in the vicinity ☺️. The staff were really friendly too.

• Subhuti Subhuti (9/5): A wonderful place for contemplating the sea - The location on the sea front is magnificent. Our room was on the third floor and gave us a glorious panorama of the sea crashing in, wave after wave. The room was basic but comfortable and clean - and quiet, apart from the ceaseless roar of the sea, and that is what we'd come for. The price was very reasonable, staff very friendly, and all arrangements were clear and straightforward. Some minor quibbles: it seems either the kettle, teapot, or cups had been bleached - full marks for hygiene but tea tasted medicinal; the window let in quite a draft; and we could have done with another chair to sit and watch the waves. But none of this would stop me returning to that very room. Highly recommended.

• Nasir (7/5): It was a stay with the basic requirements, at a reasonable price in a good location - The location was great. The price was reasonable The room could do with a detailed cleaning. The windows especially need cleaning as you had to struggle to see out of them, not good when you are supposed to have a sea view. The one chair needs repairing as the back could not support your weight.

• Zoe (5/5): - Die Lage ist toll. Das Personal ist nett. Das Cleaning Personal hat sich alle Mühe gegeben, das Hotel sauber zu halten. Die Badezimmer haben geblitzt. Leider ist das Gebäude schon in die Jahre gekommen. Wir haben in Zimmer 8 ohne Meerblick geschlafen. Das Fenster war kaputt und leider voller Vogelkacke. teppich und Matratze wirken uralt. Das Bett ist kaputt gewesen. Wie oben erwähnt, wurde jeden Tag gereinigt, aber das kann leider nicht ersetzen, dass keine Instandhaltungsmassnahmen getroffen werden.

• Theobald (4/5): Disappointing - Excellent seafront location and view within walking distance to shops and restaurants, comfortable beds and clean sheets. The receptionist (a young lady) was very friendly and helpful. On arrival the only light in the room was no brighter than a candle. After reporting this to reception, the helpful caretaker changed the bulb very quickly. The shower drain was also blocked and took a good 5 minutes to drain after showering - reported on leaving. Other than that, everything looked very tired and worn - cracked walls, flaking paint, stained carpet, the hot water in the sink was luke warm and one of the chairs was very wobbly.

• James (8/5): Great location and basic accomodation that is ideal for anyone looking to stay on a budget. - I've stayed here before and like the location, on the sea front of Aberystwyth. Basic accomodation, was at the Abertoir Horror Fest so was out for most days so this was ideal, for crashing after a day at the festival. Shower was shared, but kept clean, and also great to have free shower gels and shampoos available, either left by other guests or put there by staff, either way good to use up rather than get rid of shower gels. Wifi is decent and works well, complimentary tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Only real the bed was a bit uncomfortable sometimes, the tv reception was not great only a few channels available but that might have been due to the weather which was stormy for the first few days.
• Paul (5/5): Nice location and staff, facilities under par. - Great location, lovely staff, nice cafe downstairs, good price. There was no shower curtain and staff said they were unable to do anything about it even though my stay was 6 days.
• Erin (2/5): Poor - The location is great. Lovely beach views How warm and cramped it was. In order to get to our room we had to go up 4 flights of stairs. The room was so unbelievably warm, the radiator is on a timer and I can’t be turned off at all, the fan was also broken it didn’t stay up and kept falling over

• Christopher (7/5): Good for the money!! - Location on seafront very good as is the price. Room was en suite with a small but tidy toilet and wash basin. Coffee/tea/chocolate provided. Ideal for budget break. Room was small, walls were bare and carpet worn but still very good value.

• DASSHANY (7/5): - Strategically located. i.e., 5 minutes walk to the train station. The heater was not working. The property accommodated to our late check in. However, when we arrived which was past midnight, the heater was not working and when we contacted the emergency number provided; we were told that it did not amount to an emergency. Reception is open between 3-6pm so we had to sleep is a chilly room that night.

Carpets needed a clean
