Guest Reviews
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Staff was very professional and friendly! River the Inn was beautiful!
- Jillian (10/5): - Even thought the hotel is on rt 100 its very quiet.
- Galina (8/5): - Nice, affordable and very clean hotel with it's own restaurant. Just 10 min.away from ski area and restaurants. Rooms have TV, refrigerator and microwave. The only thing I would suggest is teapot. Overall very good experience.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Upon checking in we found no heat in our room; we bought it up to manager on site. Was questioned about the heat and told well it was hot in there earlier. She then brought a portable space heater, worked well enough. We did meet the owner that night at the restaurant, we brought up that we had no heat. He had no idea. He did try to fix problem with us immediately with another heater but we already had one. Overall it was worth the $100 maybe a little to much considering they do have heat problem. The restaurant fills the belly was decently priced but the food is premade frozen items and under seasoned. The decor and staff were super nice and they kept drinks coming without asking.
- Rachel (8/5): - Great place to stay for the price! Check in was quick, contactless, and secure. Staff was pleasant and helpful. Only draw back is that the walls were very thin and we can continually hear our neighbors.
- Ron (8/5): - The Inn is rather antiquated but very clean and friendly staff. Easy checkin and out.
- Troy (8/5): - Buffy the waitress was outstanding! Lucky to have such a good employee.
- Debbie (8/5): - The room is a good size, clean. The Tavern's food was good, a bit pricey for pub food.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great place with contactless check in. Not much around it, but that’s nice if it’s what you’re interested in.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Clear River is always our first choice when visiting VT we had a great time the staff treats you like family!
- Justin (10/5): - This place is the bomb! It is in such a beautiful area and you would never know that it was 15 minutes from Killington. The rooms are beautiful, recently renovated, and amazingly clean. The staff is friendly and helpful. The two best things about this place besides the room itself are the tavern and the breakfast. The tavern out back is a riot. The staff is amazing down there and it is always packed and a fantastic place to grab a bite and or a drink. The breakfast is absolutely fantastic even though you have to go 2 miles down the road to get it. Hot breakfast to order as the complementary breakfast? Sign me up! Overall the Clear River Inn was one of the most pleasant places I have stayed in my entire life and we definitely be back.
- Alisik (8/5): - I stayed with a group of 4 people during holiday weekend and we fit comfortably in the standard double room. The place was clean and the beds felt new. The inn provided numerous blankets and generous heat. The on-site dining was very tasty and convenient after a full day of snowboarding. The staff is welcoming and helpful. The inn is a bit outdated, most evident in the bathroom, however perfect for short stays and affordable.
- Jessica (10/5): - Such a great place, especially for a family! The restaurant on site was a pleasant surprise after a long day. Great atmosphere and great food. Breakfast in the morning at the Swiss farm was also amazing! The room was warm and the bed was so comfortable. The staff was so helpful with tips on local events. This was a last minute trip and was not expecting much other than a room to stay, but we could not be happier with our stay, it was a perfect ski town lodge and can’t wait until our next trip!
- Vincent (10/5): Beautiful place - This place is definitely a diamond in the rough. Nestled in the middle of no where, is this hidden gem. The staff was friendly and very accommodating. Mark,Katherine, and Fiona were all awesome! I would definitely stay again.
- Anne (10/5): Great experience - Great service, clean rooms. Loved the tavern attached.
- Dee (8/5): - This was a great place to stop on our quest for fall foliage. The new owners have put a lot of love into the rooms & it shows. Having the Tavern on sight was even better.
- Kenneth (10/5): Clearwater inn review - Friendly service, great value. The breakfast that was included was excellent. Room was newly remodeled and in very good condition. Clean, and comfortable.
- frogtown (10/5): - Great staff, clean rooms, great breakfast, quiet area
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Very clean and fixed up. Received breakfast vouchers for Swiss Farm Inn up the road. Incredible breakfast there. Very impressed.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely property, the only problem was the smoke alarm went off very briefly at 2:00 am
- Michael (10/5): Great - Very cozy. Friendly staff would stay again
- Silas (10/5): Great place to stay - Great place to stay! Haven't been to the region before, but is stayed here because it's near a meeting I had the next day. Has a wonderful restaurant/tavern around back to get some good food and local beers. The room is very clean and the bed was perfect (not too firm, not too soft). If you're bored and don't feel much like socializing (all the locals hang out at the tavern), you can walk down to the river and hang out there. it was very relaxing to just sit on a rock with my feet dangling in the water. 100% worth the rate. the Wifi is OK, which is good considering cell signal is pretty much non-existent anywhere around here
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I liked that I was on the first floor since I cannot go up stairs.
Outside trash needs to picked up more often as the trash bins were full.
My bed was comfortable and my stay was enjoyable.
- Tiger (10/5): Great stop - Super friendly straff, great room and just the nicest people on the clear river tavern lovarts kust by the hotel.
- Gregory (8/5): - Solid lodging. Surprisingly modern interior despite the more rustic looking exterior. Great partnership with Swiss Farm Inn as well if you're in search of a breakfast spot during the weekends.
- Keira (10/5): - Everything was fantastic! Beds were comphy and the food and atmasfear at the tavern were awesome!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Excellent spot for a night and great breakfast up the road!
- William (10/5): Incredible reception, lovely people - I travel for about five months out of the year for work. My reception at the Clear River Inn was by FAR the best experience I have ever had!!! I checked-in late and was a little bit confused about checking-in (after 10pm you must check-in at the tavern around back). They treated me like family and I had an amazing evening and an excellent night's rest.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Restarant and travern on proprty. Our rkom had new beds. Room fine for overnivhr stay
- Verified traveler (6/5): - While the location is nice and quiet, close to Killington Mountain and a nice restaurant in the back, the price for the room seems high. Our bed sank in the middle, which was rather uncomfortable and the accommodations, for $140 per night, where just mediocre.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Basic decor, clean as a whistle. Great staff. Good location.
- Timur (10/5): Great Local Hotel with awesome Bar/Tavern - The hotel rooms are fairly standard. The best part is that there is an awesome Tavern next door, that has a great vibe, delicious food, and great bartenders. The owners of the hotel/tavern, seem like really good people who care about their guests. Would definitely stay here again!
- A (8/5): - Pleasant staff. Clean rooms. All you really need for a ski weekend.
- Ananth (8/5): Clean ! - We had a good stay.clean and very peaceful. It was bit pricy though
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The hotel was neat and clean. Well kept comfortable rooms I was glad it was not real hot outside because no a/c but they are super friendly at the hotel. Only other bad thing was a bar behind the building and can get a little noisy outside with the window open.
- David (8/5): - Quiet and comfortable but older facility. Nice area to visit with beautiful Vermont scenery.
- Isaiah (10/5): - This place was great! Ownership and staff very friendly, room renovations are top notch! Would definitely stay here again!!
- L (6/5): - Check in staff was very friendly. Room was a bit disappointing. Needs updating especially the beds. They are pretty much on the floor. They left you ear plugs and I thought it was nice but then I realized why through out the night. It felt like the people in the next room were in our room when they were talking. There was a thin door separating the rooms. It woke me up a few times and we even tapped on the door to ask them to quiet down. Bathroom was clean and beds were clean. Stayed one night, not sure I would stay more than that. Over all it was OK.
- Maria (8/5): - very clean
- Peter (10/5): Great service - Great place to stay. Cost per night was reasonable. Tavern was a blast. Everybody so helpful there. The Inn is getting refurbished. So you may get an older room. Clean though.
- James S. (10/5): It was exactly what I expected with tremendous service and staff - Great property and great proximity to the mountains. I hope to stay there again.
- david (8/5): Budget accommodation with attached Tavern - Clear River Inn is an older facility and is thus a little dated (I loved the blue tiled shower and the matching tub!). No frills, but it is clean, staff was excellent, and the price was a good value. It's less than 20 minutes from Killington Ski Resort...and less than half the cost of most accommodations closer to the resort. An excellent choice for a budget oriented overnight. It was also convenient to have a tasty burger & beer available at the attached Tavern. I will definitely stay here again.
- P.A. (10/5): Hospitality and service -
Dolly was wonderful!
She accommodated our needs perfectly!
Thank you!
- Millicent (10/5): Pleasant surprise! - We were on a Fall foliage trip w/friends & did not have a reservation for this day due to us not knowing exactly what our evening destination would be, there were few vacancies & the reviews were not impressive at all, but we were desperate at this point. We were thrilled when we drove up & saw the sign "under new management", "newly renovated". Everything was new (carpet included), fresh, very clean, the new owner Mark checked us in, was extremely friendly as was Dolly the next morning! We enjoyed the restaurant (on site), again, very friendly staff and a fabulous band playing to what seemed to be the where the "locals" hung out!
- Lisa (8/5): Great fall get away - Stayed here on our was to Stowe for October fest. Staff was very friendly. The tavern was great good food nice bar. This would also be great for relaxing after a day on the slopes.
- Jane (6/5): Not the best but not the worst - Had one night there which served a purpose. The tavern served good food and the waitress was amazing fun. I wouldn't like to spend any longer there, but was a convenient location for our route through Vermont
- Rachel (8/5): - We came to stay at Clear River Inn because it's close to killington resort and the price is very reasonable. The service was great and management was very accommodating to our re needs. We also love the tavern know the back of the inn--it was very cute and the staff & locals were very friendly. However, this inn is a bit older and it is very small. It gets a bit hot and stuffy in the rooms... other than that we very much enjoyed our stay!
- Ana (4/5): - No air conditioning. Smelled moldy.
- Verified traveler (4/5): Should be rated 2 star - Noise from heating system or where it came from was there and disturbing to sleep. Beds were soft. Room was clean but over priced for a 2 star Motel.
- Dean (8/5): Shabby, but still cool. - This hotel is bare bones - nothing special. As a matter of fact, most people would probably think it's run down. And it is. But, the location is good and the bar/restaurant in the back is really super cool. Really solid food and the people working there are very nice. I would actually go back just because of the bar. Yes, it was that charming.
