Guest Reviews
- Cathy (10/5): - Very clean and comfortable. The breakfast was wonderful.
- Daphne (10/5): - super freindly hostess, great breakfast. wonderfull time talking to other travelers
- Jenice (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay at the Inn! Dale and Maree are fantastic and make you feel like part of the family from check in to check out. We stayed on the 4th of July and they offered tips for places we could see the fireworks, and invited us to join them for a cookout with their friends that evening. Unfortunately we were unable to join as we had made prior arrangements. The neighborhood was lovely and very peaceful and relaxing. We enjoyed a walk around to see the historical buildings and everyone we met was welcoming and friendly. Breakfast was amazing! Maree was even able to accommodate my request for a gluten free breakfast (I have Celiac). I was able to eat almost everything without fear of becoming ill. Our only regret is that we could only stay one night! We would definitely love to stay here again for a longer time.
- David (10/5): - Wonderful place to Stay
- sean (10/5): Thank you Marie, The Inn, and Bath. - My wife and I had a great time getting away to Bath, NC. Very quiet town and relaxing area. We are always going doing something at home, from 630am to 930pm till we literally crash from exhaustion. I told myself that I needed to find away to a remote area for our anniversary.
Upon arrival to the Inn on Bath Creek, my wife and I were greeted by the wonderful Irish Inn Keeper, Marie. She was very interested about making your time in Bath more to our liking, which was us needing to have peace. Marie was always easy to find if needed and willing to discuss things we could do around the area.
I rented the top room which had a large room, bathroom, and a king sized bed. It was easy to forget we where at a Bed and Breakfast, the Inn was amazingly quiet. In the morning, we were treated to Marie serving us a very wonderful breakfast which was never the same thing and had a Irish twist. We also loved hearing Marie's Irish accent.
Meanwhile, Bath offered exactly what we where looking for, a way to slow down and focus on each other. We enjoyed staying in town and going to the Black Beard Tavern, The Old County Kitchen, and the Marina in town. There was also a library, and a Historical Society that made a great way to understand Bath's background.
Most of the towns people where nice. However I had a impression that some of them also wanted to live a quiet life. Shop keepers were friendly and it was awesome to have a slow southern twist in their interaction.
Thank you Marie and Bath.
- Matthew (10/5): - The Inn itself is a beautiful property and the rooms are comfortable and cozy! The hosts are so gracious and the breakfast they serve is so delicious and filling!! No worry about leaving there hungry. You will not be disappointed!! If we are ever back in the area we will be staying again!’
- DOUG (10/5): - This is a most wonderful B&B!! The innkeeper, Marie is so warm and welcoming and not to mention an amazing chef. We were delighted each morning with her varied breakfasts, all completely home cooked.
The inn itself is perfect! Situated across from the water’s edge, we loved taking in the natural beauty of this area. Our room was so comfortable and private. The common areas of the inn are smartly decorated and warmly inviting. Do yourself a huge favor and make this your next destination when headed to this area!
- Fredrick (10/5): - Our time at the Inn was amazing, and the the breakfast was awesome too. She was very helpful and knowledgeable about the area and things to try to see.
- Tonya (10/5): - Marie was a delight! She made you feel like you were more than a guest in her home. I would recommend this Inn for anyone going near Bath NC. An absolute gem!
- Linda (10/5): - The Inn on Bath Creek is so peaceful! The loving care of the property in anticipation of guests can be felt in the beauty and careful cleaning of all areas of the Inn. The information book with suggested restaurants and points of interest was sensitively prepared and so helpful. We will definitely return here and recommend it to others who come to this area.
- Lauren (10/5): - Really lovely home. Geared to relaxation, beautiful water views while walking through the neighborhood.
- PETER (10/5): - Way more than we could ever expect. The whole place was surgically clean, what an amazing stay!
- Victor (10/5): - Great place to stay with great views. Nice little town with wonderful people.
- Kenneth (10/5): - Bath is a small town with a lot of historic character. Nearly all houses were well kept and the place is highly walkable. Citizens, of which there are not many, were very friendly. The streets were wide enough to make a U-turn and street parking was plentiful. If there was a down side, it was that there were few restaurants in close proximity, but then it is a small town. Plenty of places to eat in nearby Washington.
- Michael (10/5): - Beautiful property and gracious hosts.
- Martha (10/5): Hope to return! - Quaint quite historical town/village. Beautiful and well appointed inn and rooms with terrific breakfast.
- Pam (10/5): - The Inn on Bath Creek is a jewel! The home is very welcoming with a nautical theme and. I stayed in the largest room with an attached sitting room. It was bright and very clean. I had to take a brown bag breakfast the first morning and it was delicious! The 2nd morning was amazing with homemade bread, jams, Swedish pancakes (don't remember the technical name) and sausage links just what I needed before heading out to the airport. I look forward to coming back and seeing more of the area next time.
- LONNIE (10/5): - Wonderful experience at the Inn on Bath Creek. The home was lovely and we enjoyed the interaction with the Inn Keepers and other guest during our stay. Wish we could’ve stayed longer. The Inn is definitely on our list to revisit.
- John (10/5): - Our stay was amazing! Very clean and friendly atmosphere. Breakfast was outstanding! Definitely would go back and we highly recommend this place. Thank you Dale and Maree for everything. Thank you, John and Dorothy Gillis
- Marty (10/5): - incredible property with impeccable service.
- Bob (10/5): - Beautiful home and very nice location for walking and exploring, or just relaxing on the porch. The breakfast Maree made from scratch was delicious and filling. I only wish our trip allowed another night’s stay.
- David (10/5): - The owner's are fascinating and the breakfasts were superior. We enjoyed conversing with the other guests in a relaxed atmosphere around the table. If you are in a rush to get somewhere in the morning, you may miss out.
- Michael (10/5): - Maree was extremely hospitable & made sure we had everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. Breakfast was excellent & we did not leave the table hungry. Room & accommodations were extremely clean. Our weekend was outstanding thanks to Maree. Her “Irish Soda bread” was delicious
Highly recommend!!!
- Dori (10/5): - The thoughtful details and caring of the proprietors made this a destination I will come back to!
- Frank (10/5): - Marie is a great Host
- Barbara C (10/5): - The Inn was beautiful, well-appointed, and convenient for the event we were attending. The rooms were warm and cozy, yet spacious. Breakfast on Sunday was a multi-course feast comprising fresh fruit, fresh pastries with butter and jams, French toast and syrup, juice, coffee or tea, and delightful company. The weekend was only enhanced by the beautiful autumn weather, and, while Dale and Marie didn't have any input for this, they were nevertheless the beneficiaries. A wonderful visit!
- Eugenie (10/5): - We enjoyed our stay immensely. Inn's owner is very helpful and accommodating. Bath is a lovely little town and our landlords tried to make sure we experienced some of the most interesting sites. Breakfast was amazing and we wanted for nothing during our stay
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We had a wonderful stay. It was a nice get-away. Great hosts! Delicious breakfast! Beautiful house!
- John (10/5): Fantastic stay - We couldn’t have been happier with our stay here. Marie was so welcoming. The whole place was clean and inviting. To top it off she made one of the best breakfasts we’ve ever had. We’re so glad we stumbled across this little gem in our travels. Definitely recommend.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This was a beautiful house, short walk to the water front park, so relaxing.would stay here again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We had never been to Bath. We wanted to see the first town in the state. Bath's Visitors center offered a 15 minute file that gave a great overview of the town.
It is an easy walk to see all the sights in Bath. All flat and quiet streets.
Since we were in on a Monday night dinner options were limited. We drove to Belle Haven under 20 minutes away and had a wonderful dinner at the Spoon river Artworks and Market.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - If you didn't like staying at a bed and breakfast, this place will change your mind.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Friendly and very clean!
- Michael (10/5): - An absolutely beautiful house in a quiet, historic town. The host, Marie, was wonderful, telling interesting stories about the town’s history and the breakfast she prepared was delicious.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful Bed and Breakfast! Hosts were wonderful, house was extremely clean, breakfast was excellent. There was a book of local to dos etc which was helpful. There is no TV but the WiFi is good, so bring a tablet!
- Holly (10/5): - What a beautiful place to stay! Our room had a view of the water, and even our own lounge or snug! The hostess was full of information, was very welcoming, and the breakfast was amazing! I highly recommend staying here!
- Nvrpayretail (10/5): - Beautiful inn with a lot of charm. Breakfast was great and the town is quaint with a lot of history.

- Verified traveler (10/5): - The Inn was lovely and the innkeepers were fantastic!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Extremely clean and attractive room and dining /sitting areas...a great place for a quiet get-away
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I liked the nautical & local history theme. Room was a nice size with private bath & sitting room.
- Randall M (10/5): Come for the history- stay for the hospitality - The quick facts:
The Inn is beautiful and the location is beyond what mere words could do justice to, so I won't really try. The community is rich in history and embodies such a calm laid back vibe that it is really impossible to be stressed out sitting on the front porch watching the river and life pass you by.
The bed was comfortable, sheets were amazing, and the soaking tube just what I needed.
The Inn is very warm and welcoming as are its Keepers- Maree, Dale and of course Remington the Inn's resident hound, who I promise was more well mannered than most children I've met.
It was so nice to be able to sit around the breakfast table sharing stories and getting to know the other guests- it really did feel as if we were part of large extended family having a normal breakfast at home. If the location doesn't draw you, the breakfast surely should... each day different and so much food I waddled away fat as a tick and happy as a clam!
SO the short version- it is worth the visit. IF you are like us, you will be heartbroken to leave and will already be planning your return!
Check out the surrounding area- Goose Creek Park is awesome for photographers. Washington has lots of historic homes, visit Beargrass for Deadwood, and of course Lake Mattamuskette for the birds and the Old Pumping Station and don't forget to visit with Joyce the keeper there! This area opens your eyes to a totally new (old) side of NC like you have never seen before!

- Verified traveler (10/5): - Excellent service and a beautiful dog! Loved the experience
- Lisa V (10/5): A Lovely Stay - Welcoming. Comfy bed. Knowledgeable owners. Lovely breakfasts.
There is certainly interesting history to this town, including it being a home to the pirate Blackbeard. Check out the short walking tour, and be sure look out over the water.
- Steve (10/5): - Fantastic spot. The innkeepers were outstanding. The meals were wonderful. The room was very comfortable and cozy. Definitely worth visiting and staying.
- Patti (10/5): - Quiet, peaceful B & B in the historic town of Bath. Clean room and delicious breakfast food!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great hosts - Stayed a couple of night while visiting family. Great area. Great hosts. Wonderful breakfast.
Note: No TV in room, but had TV in common room and worked for us.
- Verified traveler (2/5): No Kids Allowed - After booking a really fun trip for our children (8 and 9). We started in Bath. After booking this hotel online, we were greeted at the front door to "Oh, you have children. We don't allow children." We walked in and waited as she called someone else to see if they would let us stay there. The house looked adorable, and I was a little disappointed at first, but I remained polite. She changed her story as to legally she can only allow 2 people per room, which I believed, but then later thought, why didn't she offer us another room then? So, we went on our merry way down the street to another place who was very kind, and immediately they said, " She doesn't like kids, but don't worry, they are very welcome here." Grateful for the acceptance, but this place was not as nice as the other home, nor did it offer breakfast, etc.... My children are very well behaved, but besides the point, total discrimination!! What age is acceptable? 18, an adult? because I know many 20 year olds that are loud and obnoxious. I know 60 year olds that drink too much and can't keep their mouths shut, etc etc You get my point.
- Martha (10/5): Beautiful Inn in lovely historic town - We spent a lovely night in Bath. The Inn is very beautifully presented and our room at the top of the house was very spacious and extremely comfortable. There was tea, coffee, sodas and chocolates available in the conservatory for guests. Breakfast was really delicious and filling. We spent the afternoon doing a self guided walking tour of Bath and at the end of the day enjoyed a lovely sunset by the water edge. Bath is small but very pretty. We also ate dinner locally at a very friendly restaurant with fantastic pizza a two minute walk from the Inn.
