Troy (10/5): - Great value in Virginia. Clean room. Friendly staff. Goodie basket for guests in room. Quiet. Scenic location between 2 lakes. Unfortunately, the fishing pier and the edge of the parking area had several homeless people sleeping there. I couldn't fish there in the morning. A woman was sleeping on the pier with her belongings, thus claiming the pier. I wish the city/county would clean that up. But, the lodging experience was top notch. Would stay again, just wouldn't plan on fishing across the street.

Leila (2/5): - Owners and family enter rooms with no authorization. ( Occurred again last night 8-27-25) Co worker’s reported the same. The pet rules change depending on their mood. Stayed two separate occasions and was told an imaginary dog rule was implemented whereby the dog must be with me when I go to work. I gave them the benefit of the doubt going in the room last week.Highly unprofessional when confronted on room entry and they admitted to it, but saw no problem if no items were stolen.and no reasonable expectation of privacy as guaranteed by law. Because the owners do not abide by their own rules nor State Law. I would highly not recommend staying there for any period of time. The facility was loud overnight on a Monday due to Adam the owner’s buddies and family were there. No expectation of privacy, an extraordinary rude set of owners, who defy local and State law. You are rolling the dice—especially if you have pets. If you leave the motel—-THEY WILL ENTER

I really liked the area as across the street from my room was a small lake that had a walking path all around it and benches to sit and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. It was convenient that there was a grocery store and a whole foods co-op within short walking distance of the motel.

Frank (10/5): - This is the third time I've got the opportunity to stay at this wonderful place. Super friendly owners who go above and beyond to make sure your stay is incredible. I accidentally locked myself out of my room close to midnight after the office was closed and I had to contact them to get a second key and not only were they understanding they were so kind I couldn't believe it. Anytime I stay up on the range that is my go-to place so if you're on the fence stay here I guarantee you will love it
Neil (6/5): - No way the main office should ever close one because the ice machine is in there and if something happens to the apartment TV doesn’t work you need to get the Wi-Fi passcode or something like that. That’s the first hotel I’ve ever stayed in and I’ve stayed in many that’s never been open 24 hours. It might’ve been full and thinking. That is OK to go home early because every room was filled up but people need things things happen and when there’s nobody there to call or anything like that otherwise everything else was good.

We were there in mid to late February so it was very cold outside but very hot inside so needed to open a window. Would definitely stay again especially when it’s warmer and we could’ve enjoyed the lakes that are a stones throw away

The staff person was very friendly and helpful, and accommodating when we realized I had accidentally booked twice (once via Expedia and once many months ago by phone, which I had forgotten). For whatever reason, hotel prices are quite high in Virginia, so Lakeshor is a pleasant respite from those inflated prices.
Akash (10/5): Great place - Amazing stay for our weekend. Had a wonderful time in Virginia,MN. We snow shoed in Giants Ridge recreational area. No problems with our stay.
Sandy (10/5): - This is our second time staying here and really appreciate everything about the hotel. This time we had the apartment suite, which was convenient for us after a long day of ski races in Biwabik. It was nice to be able to make some food there that evening and just relax.

I dont remember seeing pots & pans, but we ate out with family and only stayed 1 night so we didn't do any cooking. Hotel staff were nice & friendly. Yes, I'd stay again in the same room if available and we're in the area.
