- Charlene (4/5): Wouldn’t stay there again - Dated. Very small bath. Cosmetics poor. Bath was filthy
- Elizabeth (8/5): Good - Hotel was close to everything. Paid extra for a spa tub & didn’t not get that. Had a regular tub. Did not get a price difference even though I paid extra.

- Verified traveler (2/5): Don’t trust them - They lied on Hotels.com which rooms they had available, I even called before I booked to make sure that they could take our reservation and they said yes. We showed up 2 hours later just to get thrown out at midnight because they only had one room open and it couldn’t hold the 4 of us. Will never book here again.
- Clinton (4/5): - Unfortunately the guest above us was up all night making noise both nights we stayed. The second night we called the desk twice but it did not do any good.
- Dewayne (2/5): - Hotel is a mess , I killed multiple roaches during my stay. They said no smoking but my bed covers were filled with burn holes ! I think some of them Actually stays there ! Which isn’t a problem just felt unsafe . Will never book here again !
- Salinas (8/5): -
- Laurie (8/5): - Always easy to get to and from my daughters house yo the motel
- Frank (8/5): -
- Aldo (6/5): - Not bad for an older building. The cleaning staff was polite and did good work. Clean linings , clean rooms. A/C’s will need to be upgraded in the next few years. The hotel is squeezed into a small area off the highway. It’s a good location, just no parking room.

- Eugina (2/5): - BEWARE DUMP HOTEL! On the 1st floor they have permanent residents living. They didnt have wifi, linens, refrigerator, microwave pillows, soap, or toilet paper. You must track down the employees via cell phone and they speak broken English. They stated they couldn't reimburse my money. I was there for a motorcycle rally and there weren't any rooms available in Gonzales. We fogged the room for all the bugs and cleaned the room with bleach. While we were out someone used a key and stole my jewelery and towels we purchased at Walmart. The employees live at the motel and didn't answer my calls. The residents thete are sitting out all day. PLEASE SEE PHOTOS! THIRD PARTY TRAVEL SITES NEED TO REMOVE THIS CANNON INN MOTEL FROM THEIR LISTING !
- Sheryl (10/5): - Very nice and clean nice staff too
- Gina (6/5): -
- Maura (8/5): - clean and well appointed. No frills.
- Barrington (1/5): Don't do it - Nothing Tried to change booking and arrived late. Charged but no room available. Smdh

- cary (8/5): - Very nice stay for a great price
- Robert (2/5): - trash truck showed up every morning at 5 am to pick up trash at cafe next door , 2 dumpsters , bang ,,,,,,bang ....bang 3 times each dumpster ....to clean out dumpster ....a car showed up every morning and evening with no muffler .....next to my room......and left car idling
- John (6/5): An okay stay in Lockhart. - Kind of a “get what you pay for” deal. The rooms was clean and someone came by to change the towels, etc. parking was a little tight so that might be considered for someone booking that wants to stay out late. Spots become limited. The website on Hotels.com mentioned free breakfast but this was never mentioned when we checked in. There is a restaurant that is a few steps away but I don’t believe it’s included or a voucher is given. Overall it was okay for the short duration we needed a room.
- Katie (9/5): Recently remodeled, cute rooms. - I am most thankful for a clean, quiet room and hotel staff who allowed me to check in after midnight. The bed was comfortable and my kiddo loved the jacuzzi tub (rain shower was nice too). We didn’t use either, but there was a good-sized mini fridge and microwave in the room. Oh, there was also a cute little container with shampoo and soaps, and plenty of towels. The AC was a little hard to keep at a good temp. It was functioning as expected, but with the humidity the bedding felt a little damp and made it seem colder than it was. Turning up the temp wasn’t helpful — ultimately, not much that can be done about that — it’s Texas. In the summer.
- Johnson (10/5): Exceptional -
- Verified traveler (4/5): Meh, it was a room. - This is an unplanned stop and was fairly typical of the average roadside inn. However, the bed was horrible and made a lot of noise witheven the slightest movement. I probably would have been more comfortable sleeping in my car honestly.
When i checked in, the property also felt really sketchy...there was some guy who watched me the entire time I was checking in and unloading my car. Maybe he was a guest? IDK, but this was not the impression I got when I initially booked the room.
There was also a lot of roadside traffic noise and the area overall made me want to go inside the room, lock my door, and not come out until morning...which is exactly what I did.
- Noah (6/5): - Only motel I have ever stay in where no coffee maker was provided…they told me to go over to the restaurant, how convenient for them and in convenient for the consumer…sure for an extra fee you can get coffee.
- Jose Guadalupe (6/5): - Is not what I expected ,
- Chris (6/5): - It's fine for one night. Neighboring rooms kinda noisy.
- Richard (8/5): Good LAst Minute - God last minute hotel. Cleaner than expected and had everything I needed.
- Annie (10/5): - The rooms were very clean, and smelled clean. Prices were reasonable, and the front clerk was friendly and helpful.
- Dennis (1/5): Uncomfortable - Rooms smelled liked smoke, sink was dirty, and not comfortable.
- Frank (10/5): Exceptional -

- Skipper (8/5): Very good -
- Laurie (5/5): Passable -
- Verified traveler (4/5): Get what you pay for - The poor gentleman at the front desk didn't have a clue what he was doing. He was filling in for his wife. We told him several times we had booked online, but I don't think he knew how that worked either. The room was decent. We had a few random people knock on our door, so that was weird. The cleaning crew was not the best. We found beer in the fridge and a cupcake wrapper in a drawer. Probably not staying here again
- Cameron (8/5): - This property is easy to get to - parking is a little tight for a large vehicle.
- Lars (8/5): - All good
- Preston (10/5): - Great out the way spot
- David (2/5): Dirty, dirty, dirty - Stay away
- Andrew (7/5): Good -
- Juan (10/5): Nice - Good atmosphere
- Daniel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Anna (8/5): Very good -
- James (6/5): - All new interiors and working on outside. So close setting on a busy highway so the noise was pretty loud. Not much privacy between rooms since still have doors for ajourning rooms.
- Ardenous (7/5): Good - Location is close to downtown and events. Room has a microwave and a fridge. Beds are large. Check in and out are easy. Parking spaces are ample. Locates at a traffic heavy road so noises can be heard in rooms even after midnight. No meals or even coffees. Staff are always not at desk.
- Ch (3/5): Would never go back. - The place is kind of gross and smelly but the lady who ran the desk was very kind. There were people lingering around all night but weren’t a threat. It was dirty
- KATHERINE (2/5): - When we got there I had rented two beds they gave me a one bed so we didn’t have room to sleep had to go to another hotel
- Ryan (10/5): Exceptional -
- Verified traveler (4/5): - The stay began with the office giving us the key to an occupied room. Although it's obvious the place has been updated, it just wasn’t clean. We had to buy Clorox wipes and Lysol to clean it ourselves to be somewhat comfortable. Also, the floor and counters had a film on them. In addition, we had to buy blankets from the store because the sheets were dirty, and the towels had stains on them. I would not recommend this place.
- Chris (10/5): Exceptional -
- Diana (6/5): - Decent and get what you pay for. Room was not ready when I checked in. Had to wait 45 minutes for my room.
- Edmundo (10/5): Exceptional -
- Yvonne (9/5): Superb -
- Patricia (2/5): Worst ever accommodation. - Tub floor in shower uneven and had a hole. Toilet seat was lacking a bolt and was loose and unstable, floors unclean and sticky, sheets and towels were clean, mattress odor smelled of a locker room, TV remote needed new batteries.
I was too tired to complain to front office when features were discovered late in the evening. Sat up and snoozed in office chair and left very early next morning.
- Tiffani (6/5): - The building was old and not as up to date as other reviews suggested. The beds were clean and the room was maintained. That being said it was as if the cleaning service didn’t realize that more gets dirty than just the bedding and shower. There was dirt built up around the doors on the trim, and the walls had splatters and smudges. The floor was sticky from probably the wrong type of cleaner and we had to wear shoes at all times.
- Christi (4/5): Probably should stay elsewhere - There was a horrendous cricket infestation. I understand maybe this is hard to control but the door sweeps and thresholds allowed for them to constantly pour in. We tried to block it with towels to no avail. Crickets continued to come in all night long chirping and keeping us awake and pretty grossed out. Work could be done to the thresholds and sweeps to at least keep them out of the rooms. We were charged an ‘extra person fee’ at the hotel when I booked for 4 and the room was for 4. They also charged a fee for using a credit/debit card. I felt like the extra fees should be disclosed at booking not when you get there.
- Michelle (10/5): - It's a very convenient place to stay if you're heading to the coast. It is very loud as the highway is right out front. It is exactly as described cheaper than the high end hotels and as clean as expected for an older hotel.
- Brenda (10/5): Very comfortable - Clean and comfortable Can’t think of anything
- Peggy (5/5): It was clean enough but otherwise not much to the room other than bugs. - There was no breakfast. The sheet were clean. There were bugs in the room. Not just one—multiple crickets that I killed and have no idea where they kept coming from. Also stink bugs or blister bugs. Badly in need of an exterminator.
There were no lamps at all in the room so no low level lighting. Everything was overhead LED lights which are bright.
No coffee at all in the room
- John (1/5): Bad - I am still waiting for a refund and nobody is communicating with me from booking.com or the hotel.
- Nicholai (6/5): Pleasant - Close to city centre.
Easy access.
Cozy beds
Good wifi Light too white/bright, felt like a hospital light.
Could hear neighbors tv until 6 in morning.
Had a wierd smell of beer or something like that.
- Robert (8/5): Good Value - Room was just right for what I needed. Bed was very comfortable. Owners were very friendly.
- Paul (6/5): Pleasant -
- Tommie (6/5): Pleasant -
- Herbert (10/5): Great place to stay for a State Park adventure! - I wasn’t sure when I first saw it but the when I got in my room a closed the door it was very nice. It is right in the middle of two great places to eat and right next to the road going to the state park.
- Frank (8/5): Very good -
- Narciso (8/5): Very good - No breafast No comments
- Araceli (6/5): Basic commodities for a decent price, but expect it to be noisy since you share a door with another room. - It has all the basics and the beds were comfortable. Lots of noise from the next room and from the highway. The two rooms were joined by a double door with a crack at the bottom and you can hear the conversation from the other room. That adjoining room door only closed with a regular doorknob no bolt or anything so I did not feel safe with just my daughter and I. I wished this would have been mentioned in the listing.
- William (5/5): I will go elsewhere next time - Location and friendly staff. There isn't even a clock/radio in the room. And beware, the bathtub is very slippery.
- Christy1119 (10/5): Exceptional - Best stay ever had an amazing night N/a
- Octavia (8/5): Decent - Good price Location
- Malena (8/5): - Friendly service, nice area, food at the cafe was delicious
- Denise (9/5): Very clean, quiet, and quaint. - Very clean and friendly staff! I wish coffee had available, but there was a nice restaurant available at the Lockhart Inn.
- Andreas (6/5): Pleasant - Lots of people hanging around there. They've been sitting on there pickups drinking beers. There are doors between the rooms with a big gap between door and floor. My neighbour watched tv and made some telephone calls until 3am. Then he layed down, only to get up at 6am again. I slept for 2 hours and had to drive 7hours this day. What a horrible night that was.
- Justin (10/5): Exceptional -
- Billy (9/5): Superb -
- Paul (8/5): Very good -
- Sharon (8/5): Very good - Easy location to find. No coffee pot in room. Gap at bottom of door.
- Melinda (10/5): Perfect place for a crash pad after First Friday - Great update on a funky vintage hotel and it definitely serves its purpose.
- Natalie (8/5): Very good -
- Christopher (4/5): - The staff was very friendly. The advertisement for the property showed a much more attractive motel. The door wouldn't close unless you slammed it. The TV was not working for the first several hours. Parking lot was small and entry ways were so dipped that it damages the front bumper of our car.
- Robert (10/5): Exceptional -
- Traveling (10/5): Exceptional -
- Enrique (8/5): - Nice little place well maintained.
- Walker (10/5): It was perfect - Clean Nothing
- Adelaida (10/5): Otis good - Goood Otis Clen and nice service
- Angel (10/5): Exceptional -
- Missy (6/5): Older motel but wasn't horrible and price was good. - This is truly a motel in Lockhart. It was on a main street but the noise level wasn't bad. The manager was kind and there were restaurants within walking distance if we needed to. The showerhead was not very good; no lid on the ice bucket. The beds were a bit dated but not horrible. There are no amenities except the office has a pump coffee pot.
- Frank (10/5): Exceptional -
