- Fawaz (8/5): The room is a bit small, but its cheap anyway. So its fair. Parking is a bit challenging because we have to use public p - The location is full of shops. Easy to get food. The room is a bit small.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - good location with lot of food around the area
- Dream304875 (6/5): Convenient for 1 night - Pros: Location is good and close to eateries. Staff friendly.
Cons: Corridor is noisy you can hear staff or guests talking. My room experience tripping of electricity at night. Luckily another room was available.
Overall ok for a nights stay.
- Selvaraj (10/5): Hotel was cheap and a very good place - It was a very nice hotel and convenient especially for meals....shops nearby. The staffs were very friendly Rick,Rix and eleemyen.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - There baby cockroaches roaming around the room. Its not value for the money. Its more of a RM60, room
- Verified traveler (8/5): - nice location to stay...
- POOI LING (8/5): - the room was rather small.but ok for a short stay.air condition was good.my room as requested was away from the lift on the 3rd floor.so wasn't so noisy.however, there was a small cockroach in my room when I entered.I had to kill it myself.
- mei ling (10/5): Cheery and clean - The staff always friendly and cheerful. They are constantly cleaning the hotel.
- PATRICK (8/5): Convenient and comfortable, no fuss budget stay. - Convenient within 12 mins walk from Taman Jaya MRT station.
Varieties of good food, (Western, local Chinese and Halal) convenience stores and banks.
Room is clean and good shower/toilet. Free Wifi is decent. Air-con is cool and quiet.
Do not expect big room, fridge, safe or separate shower but its value for money.
Free welcome drink coupon for nearby Cafe.
- jean (8/5): Klumpur - Secteur de la ville bien positionné. Beaucoup de commerces proche.
- hemaidsc (10/5): good place and friendly staff - very polite smiley and kind 24 hour reception with clean room and good location. They help me all the time advising me how and when to go any place i was planning to go.
offer for me free coupons for their coffee which near to them all my stay time
- Verified traveler (10/5): Very clean - Such a nice and clean hotel. Will recommend to friends
- tastyjuice007 (8/5): Good budget hotel - The hotel is located at a corner lot. Rooms are small, however they are clean and tidy.
Staff are friendly and helpful. Free WiFi provided. Water pressure in toilets are adequate.
The only downside to the hotel is parking. There is a nearby city council parking lot, however, you would have to pay for parking coupons during the daytime and can be difficult to find parking during the daytime.
Good selection of eateries around the hotel within walking distance.
- TOREDAS (10/5): see u again - NIce to stay this Hotel, very private place and very nice place for rest
- Verified traveler (10/5): Good location, price & cleanliness. Kudos! - Two welcome drinks! Redeemable at Strawberry Fields Cafe just opposite hotel. Excellent location in central business district of Petaling Jaya. LRT station is a reasonable 15mins walk away. Room was small but looked very clean and modern. I took the room with no windows since I read other reviews that some rooms facing the road could get a bit noisy. Summary: Nice price, good location, clean room, nice cafetaria with a trendy crowd.
- Gobinath (6/5): Strawberry colorful painting - Overall ok but the room is rather small and no sound proofing ..i can hear next door watching tv ...and the cleanliness should have to be taken care more often. I saw a cockroach crawling on the wall ...add a rack to keep the luggage or else it doesnt fit for ppl staying longer ..
- 802syk (4/5): Hotel hygiene - Lobby & room corridor are clean however special attention & improvement in the room hygiene & cleaniness is required.
Car parking is not an issue as there is a compound near to the hotel.
Others are good.
- andripratama (6/5): Somehow insecure - Was here with my wife and son. Felt a bit insecure about few guys hanging-out near the hotel entrance (outside), smoking and laughing and they also seem to know the hotel's staffs, my guess is they are local boys. Very uncomfortable. I'm sure they have no ill-intentions, as the Police HQ just a stone-throw away, but still. The hotel itself is clean and tidy and there's a lot of eating places around and although the hotel has a Restaurant, it is not within the hotel premises, it's across the parking lot-in the adjacent building. Stayed here because I had business in the area the next morning, and I think that's the only reason for staying here in my book.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - it is really recommended. a nice place to stay. its very comfortable and all the staff are friendly. easy to find a place to eat and it is near to the taman jaya lrt station. i would like to stay here again in the next trip
- YU (8/5): Near station - Good since near LTR station by walk less than 10 minutes.
- LEE (8/5): - Good.
- Lim (10/5): - Good service in staff
- ahlim33 (6/5): Think about it - I m sorry but to give three star because of my experience in the hotel . Staff were friendly . Check in was smooth . Unfortunately parking is a big problem for me at working hour as well as lunch hour because u cannot find parking as u need to go around and around and try ur luck . Location was good , many nice food around .
Here come the room . Room was spacious . Just nice . Heres the problem. I book this hotel I expect a quiet room . Unfortunately my first night was terrible . There is someone next to my room cleaning , flushing something like room cleaning at midnight !!!! Yes midnight I can hear everything very clearly !!!! I check my phone is 3am ! Oh my god ! I had a terrible night . Sound proofing is terrible ! The other two night is still ok , no more noise but still can hear people talking @@
- Michael (6/5): Think about it - Look at the review , found this hotel which all the review seem nice . Straight away book three night . Staff were friendly , location were good , food around BUT if u coming by car , be prepared to go around around and around at working hour or lunch hour because there will be no parking !!!! First night were terrible where I canot sleep at all . At midnight around 2 or 3 , there is somebody next to my room cleaning and washing and I heard it very loud and clear !!!! I was like oh my god what is happening because I book this hotel I expect a quiet room . I can hear it very clear he is cleaning , washing the bathroom , flushing , wall... oh my god !!! Second night and third night nothing happen , have a good night .
- LoiseL8 (10/5): Well manner staff, clean and cozy room - well trained staff, polite, kind and friendly.Staff are always smiling. the room was clean and tidy. very comfortable. there a car park right beside the hotel. restaurant just across the road was nice.
- susangmg (10/5): Very clean and convenient hotel - Carpark was besides the hotel and easily access to convenient stores & many restaurants.
Overall is very clean and the front desk are very helpful and friendly.
Only thing is there is a lot of motocycles noise in the midnight as my room was facing the car park.
- StellaChandran (8/5): Convenient, comfortable & refreshing - We needed a place for an overnight stay, found the name unique too, it is value for money place for overnighters especially, its nearby to many utilities such as major banks, eateries, public transportation, ample parking space..
- dandixperia (8/5): Different room will have different wall paintings - Unique ! - I stayed here for solid two weeks. I frequently moved rooms due to different bookings made by me as I had no idea how long I will be in Petaling Jaya. I immediately noticed that the wall paintings are some sort of an attraction of its own. There were trees, musical notes, adorable cats, artistic sketches and God knows how many they were. I didn't expect this to be honest. Great little entertainment to myself. Hence, I like to think this as a boutique hotel rather than your average hotel.
The bathrooms are spacious. TV channels are OK. Air conditioner does it job. Just be extra cautious because some rooms do not have window at all ! Hence no view. Try to eat some Chinese food nearby especially the one just next to this hotel. Cheers.
- ShazlinJalil (8/5): Convenient, Comfy & Clean - Ever had a moment where you just need a basic place to stay for a short and packed business trip? Then I would suggest this cute little boutique hotel. Strawberry Fields is basic but yet very convenient should you have to sort your business stuffs in PJ. The location is great and there's a parking lot next to it but do remember to insert adequate coins as MPPJ takes their parking summons seriously. The hotel has their own cafe with large variety of food and beverage menus suitable for those who doesn't want to venture out after a long day.
- 175jagadeeshk (8/5): Budget Hotel in Petaling Jaya - I Stayed there for couple of days in my recent trips to Malaysia. Rooms are small but well maintained . we opted for window facing and we paid 30 ringets more compared to normal rate. It is a walking distance from Taman Jaya metro station in LRT line.
There are so many good eating options available and specially for vegetarians there is Sarvana Bhavan next to hotel.
- C5656JPgaryl (8/5): What do you need - My wife and I stayed at this hotel during a recent visit to Malaysia on mad off for five days. True the rooms are small and fairly basic. However we found them clean and comfortable, the staff very nice, and the location very convenient. Food surrounded the hotel, with some very good local outlets.
If you don't need a luxury room, but somewhere quiet and convenient, this is the place for you!
- Maliminson (6/5): Room (no pun intended) for improvement - Stayed for 5 days
Positive:
In centre of PJ, lots of places to eat (ask about the rojak and chendol place up the road, 5 min walk). Near banks and other govt office which i needed.
Taxis easy to get on weekdays but a bit challenging on weekends as this is a business area.
Bed is clean and comfortable.
Met the owner one night, and asked for his card, claimed he didnt have one and said i can talk to the manager
NEGATIVE
**the 'Manager' was never available. Everytime i asked for him, he was "at a meeting"
**The guest in the next room was smoking and i the smell permeated through. I called reception and the guy said, "we cannot disturb the guest, we will inform him in the morning". Really? Was it okay for the guest to disturb me smoking in a non smoking room?. I told him i would go and talk to the guest myself and that spurred the receptionist to come up.
**Bathroom had mould, i pointed out to the cleaner to clean between the tiles which looked like they had not been scrubbed
**One day was downstairs one of the guys was sitting there,, he had taken off his slippers and sitting barefoot with his legs on the seat. I pointed out to him that it was not very pleasant to see that, and he ignored me completely (even though i spoke in Malay so he could surely understand.) I spoke to the receptionist and she said "he is like that"
** The music in the hallway is loud, irritating and totally unecessary. Told reception to turn in down, which they did.
General comments - some of the staff are nice. It seems they all do everything, take turns to man reception and clean rooms. I gave a tip to the maid (as i do at any place i stay) and she was very kind to help me with the bags to the cab.
- VinceYeoh (8/5): Value for Money - Cleanliness : Good
Location : Surrounding by Banks, restaurant and kopitiam.
Bed : Good
Wifi : Free and Good
Bathroom : Clean but a bit small
Room Size : Small
Hotel Facility : Limited
Staff : Friendly
- K4458HPtonyr (6/5): Good value. Very efficient a/c. - This is a budget hotel. Very clean, the staff are very friendly and efficient. The location Is quite central with many restaurants.min fact the Strawberry has its own restaurant just accross the road, only problem with it you cannot by alchahol there, but plenty of places where you can. Overall very good value for money and I will definitely stay ther again.
- pouf2015 (6/5): abit run down but very clean - Environment a little bit run down, but still acceptable. Room slightly small but very clean . Just one thing that I not really like about the room was the mirror direct facing bed ( as its no good in Chinese cultural. and the room number I stayed was no.251) I still feel like the price was slightly expensive for a very small room and a bit run down environment. And the friendly staff services is actually depend on female or male staff in reception, as when I check in was a female staff on the counter and she was very friendly but when I go down and enquire for hair blower was 2 male staff that was not really friendly.
- gkxvi (10/5): Boutique not Budget - Comfortable bed, Good Shower, Friendly Staff, Very clean, great location - near many cafes and coffee places. They say that they are a budget hotel but I have stayed in other boutique hotels that have same facilities as this hotel. A plus point is that the room has a very nice painting on the walls.
