Guest Reviews
- Ido (8/5): Nice 3-night stay while on business - Nice 3-night stay while on business. The hotel is refurbished and very nicely done. Has a nice boutique feeling to it. The location is also good in the 9th arrondissement. The only thing that could have been better is having a desk (to work on) and a small wardrobe
- Juha-Pekka (10/5): - Ainutlaatuinen ympäristö ja tunnelma, erittäin viihtyisä ja kaikin puolin upea pariisilainen hotelli.
- Kristin (10/5): - The best. The staff were very nice and helpful. I could make the room cold and showers hot. I would 100% recommend.
- Thomas (10/5): - Super stay and nice staff
- Terry (10/5): - Cool
Space in a good area !!
- Deborah (10/5): - Hotel situato in un punto strategico per visitare la città. La camera pulita e confortevole.. Personale gentilissimo e pronto a coccolare il cliente. Ottima colazione.
- Batuhan (10/5): Good experience - Great value, recommended. Room was a bit small but efficiently designed, no elevator
- kim (10/5): - Property was easy self access
Kitchen area had coffee/teas/milks/water available 24/7 so was real nice to sit comfortably with a drink of your choice.
Breakfast was tasty and plentiful.
Room was fine with good towels.
Staff very informative/helpful.
Would definitely recommend.
- Sarah (10/5): - Such a wonderful spot! We will be back!

- Hazel (10/5): Stylish hotel in Monmatre - A very stylish hotel in a quiet spot but very near the Metro and buses . Wonderful breakfast. Comfy bed. Luxurious bedding and towels. Coffee pods and teas to make as you wish( no milk though)
A superb place
- Eugenio (10/5): - Clean and friendly staff.
- john (10/5): Outstanding value and location - Excellent communication and easy check-in. Very spacious room for the price. A gem of a find in Paris!
- Peter (10/5): - I have stayed at over a thousand hotels over the last 3-4 decades and without a doubt, this was one of the best experiences I've ever had. The staff were absolutely amazing, the room was large, open, and QUIET. The bathroom was well laid-out, and the shower was wonderful. Breakfast was superb with a nice assortment of breads and pastries, meats and cheeses, yoghurt, a fruit bowl (real fresh fruit, not pre-made!), fresh juice and good coffee. Water, snacks, coffee and other hot beverages are available at no extra charge, 24/7. The eye for design was beautiful throughout, each room having its own unique touches. I would stay here again in a heartbeat! Thank you, 1er Etage SoPi!!! -Pete
- Radoslav (10/5): - Amazing staff. Veryy nice design. Very comfortable rooms.
- Linda (8/5): - Loved it but not conducive to large baggage. In Pigalle, a red light district but quaint, near Montmartre
Staff very helpful
- Jon (8/5): Beautiful, clean and comfortable. - Beautifully designed, quiet and private. A clever mix between an apartment and a hotel. Check in is simple and straightforward, the place is super clean and very pretty, and the rooms were comfortable (perhaps a little small but that's normal for Paris). So many clever and quirky design details. There's a little lounge where you can make your own coffee and tea, and help yourself to sweets and treats. Breakfast is a lovely, simple continental affair. In the morning, the whole building smells of fresh baked croissants - what a joy to wake up to!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This is my second stay in this hotel and it's just such a great find. It's so well decorated and comfortable, plus the staff are always friendly and it's incredibly convenient. I would only suggest that there be an option to recycle in the room and in the breakfast room to make it 10 out of 10!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Home away from home style hotel. I stayed in room 3 which is just perfect for the single traveller. My room was TOO clean, no dust everything was perfect. And the breakfast is worth every cent. Staff was awesome and you get free water and OJ in the lounge. It’s not a traditional hotel, and that’s what’s great about. Pictures don’t do it justice, you’ve got to experience the 19th century history in person.
- Gil (10/5): - The room and public areas are all built and designed in a very high quality. There is a lot of attention to even the smallest detail. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Metro stations are a few min walk. I would go back if I had a chance.
- Verified traveler (10/5): charming hotel in Pigalle - Fine stay. Cute boutique hotel, and very kind and considerate staff
- Verified traveler (10/5): Amazing and convenient stay - Amazing stay, very convenient code entrance system. There is a small kitchen for your use to make tea, coffee and snacks which is great when you are coming in later. The staff in the kitchen in the morning were great, very friendly and helping and were great to ask recommendations to.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Central location. Rooms were clean and comfortable and a very spacious shower.
- Kim (10/5): B&B Gem in Pigalle! - This gem of a hotel is in a great location, is clean, has great service/wifi/breakfast/spacious rooms, and is safe and trendy! Cannot recommend it enough!
- Megan (10/5): - Felt like a home away from home, and the breakfast wash delicious! I also really appreciated the guest guide, which helped me find things to do in my spare time. Wonderful place! Highly recommended!
- Margaux (10/5): - Beautiful decor , comfy , and great location !
- Daniel (10/5): Great stay - Great stay at this cute and convenient hotel. Location is only a short walk to most places. Hotel itself is small but boutique style. Amenities like snacks and water readily available. Great breakfast. f you have a smaller room near in mind the shower door is clear and viewable to whoever you are sharing with - so fine if in a couple etc.
- Luis (2/5): - Unique .... looks like Dracula’s Hotel , didn’t have an elevator even our driver couldn’t find it because they don’t have a sign , one day the Asian lady that is at front didn’t want to serve the breakfast , we put a chair against little door every night that’s how uncomfortable we were staying there ! There is nothing like you see on the pictures !!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - This is a really charming property. Super lovely decor and perfect included breakfast which made it feel more like an inn instead of the bustling neighborhood it was, and very cute sitting rooms, excellent tea (Mariage Freres) for all to use in the sitting rooms, and cute little candies and chocolates laid out all over. Our particular room was a little small for two people and I didn’t realize it would have an open shower which offered little privacy. If staying with two people, I might inquire about the particular room. I don’t think this ‘open shower’ is part of all the rooms.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Location

Beautiful rooms
Lovely food
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Beautiful Parisian building, spacious room, good breakfast, friendly service, walking distance to shops, restaurants, Metro stations. Stayed for a week: good central spot for day trips and sightseeing.
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Lovely, calm, unique decor, tucked away in a lovely old building in the 9th, like staying at a swanky Parisian friend's place.
The only thing that tarnished the experience is the bathroom exhaust fan, which cannot be switched off and which buzzes non stop - not great if you're sound-sensitive as I am, as the rooms are small and the bathroom space opens directly next to the bed. But everything else was perfect.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - I loved this hotel. The dining kitchen area was such a relaxing place and the coffee was much appreciated. My room was beautiful, tbe shoeer was great and I felt it to be a truly Parisienne experience with the unique vintage furniture and artwork. Breakfast was very nice although I had to run to catch my plane. I hope to return to 1er Etage SoPi for longer next time and really soak in the atmosphere.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - We had a great stay. My favorite part was the shower. Lots of hot water, great pressure and room for two :)
- David (10/5): The Paris magic starts with your hotel - This boutique hotel is exquisite. My room was unusually large for Paris, and very comfortable. It's located in a unique and convenient neighborhood. Breakfast is important to me, and 1er Etage SoPi didn't disappoint: fresh fruit and yogurt, pasteries and fresh baguettes, sliced meats and cheeses, homemade granola, and excellent coffee. The staff were attentive and sweet. My days and evenings were filled with the beauty of Paris, and yet every night I looked forward to coming back to my secret Paris home.
- Hernando (10/5): Great location at a very good price - We had a wonderful stay. The hotel is near the Metro, a major plus. There are many restaurants, bars and shops. The rooms are clean and modern. Plenty of hot water! Easy access to WIFI.
The staff is the best. They speak English, very helpful and knowledgeable.
- Adela (10/5): - Golden Hideaway !! Nice Hotel !! Staff Was A Jewel!!
- Verified traveler (10/5): Fantastic little self-service hotel - Fantastic little self-service hotel. Front desk operates during the day allowing you to check in and leave your bags, as well as serving breakfast, but the rest of the time you can move freely using codes. Clean, modern, facilities were great. The area has a good selection of bars and restaurants too, and can be walked to from Gare du Nord. Far exceeded my expectations - I will likely return.
- Rebecca (10/5): - Great hotel with friendly staff, wouldnt hesitate to return if in paris.
The standard rooms are bigger than normal for paris too (although still small!).
- Dale (10/5): - I was very happy with the size of the room & the large shower I had heard so many comments about most Paris hotels having tiny rooms, but this room was a good size. Also the breakfast included was very tasty with multiple nice, fresh options. The hosts were friendly & helpful. I would be happy to stay here again.
- Peebles (10/5): - Hands-off but there when you need them. Excellent breakfast. Rooms up to date and well decorated.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Lovely Parisian Hotel - I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel, the room was spacious which I’d been told would not be the case in Paris, the staff were all pleasant and there was a delicious continental breakfast daily. The room was clean with a modern decor, entry with codes meant no need to remember keys. It’s only a short walk to the nearest metro stations. I would definitely return.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Authentic apartment style building in the 9th - The hotel truly is part of the local neighborhood and away from the touristy areas. The hotel has only 7 rooms and we hardly saw any other guests which gave it a feeling of an apartment. Room was small but typical for Paris. Breakfast was definitely the highlight - a delicious assortment of bread and pastries along with fruit and yogurt. The complimentary drinks and snacks were a great touch. Only minor critique would be that the only TV channels in English were news channels. Would have loved the option for English subtitles on some of the local French channels so we could understand local news and programs. Great option for those looking to integrate into a neighborhood and prefer their privacy.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Great hotel! - Lovely breakfast and friendly staff
- Rachel (10/5): Great Stay - This is a very modern apart-hotel. You get pin numbers emailed to you before your stay and this is how you get in the building and into your room - there is therefore no formal check-in procedure. You are able to leave your luggage at the hotel until your room is ready. There was someone on the reception desk in the morning but nobody there when we arrived, this wasn't an issue for us but may be if you have any issues.
Our room was quite small but very clean. The shower was just off the bedroom however with no wall in-between so if you're not close to the person you are staying with, you will be by the time you leave. The toilet is in its own room.
Breakfast was delicious - breads, pastries, cheese and meat, yogurt and fruit. There is also water and hot drinks available anytime.
The hotel is located a short walk from the Moulin Rouge and has lots of cafes/bars nearby......just what we were looking for!
Would definitely recommend.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great hotel...rather than having to check in they give you key codes in advance of arrival. This is clearly the future and it makes it feel like home rather than a hotel. Breakfast is served in an area with a kitchenette so you could cook your own evening meals if you are doing Paris on the cheap.
On the subject of breakfast, it was excellent, fruit, yogurt, croissants, pastries, French bread with jams, ham and cheese along with teas, coffee and OJ.
They also have a fridge so you can get bottles of water or OJ at your leisure and they leave out little chocolates, cookies and sweets for you to take whenever you desire.
We stayed on the second floor overlooking the courtyard, which was really quiet and we both had an excellent sleep. Comfy bed.
The room was 16sq metres which is small but easily enough room if you just want to use the room to sleep and who goes on holiday to hang out in the hotel room?
To compensate the second floor has a sitting area with another kitchenette to make yourself tea or coffee and grab yourself a cold water or OJ.. Did I mention they leave you bottles of this to take when you want?
One thing I will say, if you are in room 6 you can see the shower from the bed so if you are not a couple you might have to tell your sleeping partner to either leave the room or watch the TV whilst you take a shower. If you are a couple then you are potentially in for a treat lol
To conclude, would definately stay again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely, boutique type hotel. Clean, comfortable, lots of hot water, big bath and good shower. Good breakfast, friendly, helpful staff. Close to various Metro stations. Would stay again.
- Verified traveler (10/5): Wonderful stay, beautiful, quiet and friendly - Absolutely lovely place. Beautifully decorated and tastefully renovated with the guest experience always in mind, from the little night lights in the bathroom to the cozy coffee corner. Wonderful owners and staff that are happy to share their best tips, great breakfast. While being central, it is still a quiet place and we could sleep well. It is very personal with only a few rooms. Perfect for a quiet stay, those that want to have the feeling of home away, without giving up privacy as in staying in someone else's home.
- Mandi (10/5): Clean, lovely and quirky - Clean, lovely and quirky. Just need tea and coffee facilities in the rooms.
- Carolyn (10/5): enjoy Paris - great place, great location, great breakfast, great staff!!
- Alexander (10/5): Perfect Parisian stay - Beautiful Parisian apartment block in Pigalle, a vibrant area of bars and restaurants with the Moulin Rouge and Sacre Coeur within close proximity. Serge and Juliette made us feel so welcome and were a great source of local knowledge and recommendations. The rooms were modern and quirky with additional lounges for tea and coffee etc dotted about. The breakfast was exceptional and we would definitely stay there again.
