- Marco (9/5): Location usata come base di appoggio per visitare un’ampia zona dell’Islanda - Struttura fuori dal comune, si può dormire e mangiare in comune, cena tipica molto buona, staff attento e cordiale. La seconda notte offerto upgrade gratuito in stanza con bagno privato. Davvero un posto originale nella pace delle campagne Islandesi. Un po’ tanto distante dalla civiltà, i bagni in comune con temperatura non proprio confortevole e lontano dalla zona notte.

Die Zimmer sind groß und die Betten sind sehr bequem. Wir haben im Tal von der Unterkunft aus eine schöne Wanderung gemacht. Der Hot Pool im Außenbereich ist mega schön. Super um runterzukommen. Das Abendessen dort ist sehr gut und traditionell. Die Dusche hatte so seine Herausforderungen. Das Bad war leider nach dem Duschen etwas überschwemmt.

- Anja (10/5): Für all diejenigen, die etwas Besonderes und Urtümliches wünschen. - Sehr freundlich, familiäre Stimmung, Einrichtung wie bei Oma auf eine sehr charmante Art. Essen wurde sehr persönlich auf die Vorlieben abgestimmt. Vegan, vegetarisch,… alles möglich. Zahlreiche Wandermöglichkeiten in der näheren Umgebung. Schön gestalteter Hot Pot. Der Reitausflug war auf sehr niedrigem Niveau, sehr kurzer Ausritt auf ebener Strecke zu einem stolzen Preis im Verhältnis zu der Leistung.

Die Saunahütte mit Kneipanlage sind gemütlich eingerichtet, es gibt nur zwei Hängematten Stühle. Personal sehr hilfsbereit und freundlich! Das Museum ist modern gestaltet und bietet tiefe Einblicke in das frühere Privatleben der Familie, ein Muss für jeden Gast! Dank audioguides auch gut verständlich (englisch). Leider keine Kochmöglichkeiten/Mikrowelle, sodass man auf die Verpflegung vor Ort eher angewiesen ist, was bei mehreren Tagen doch recht teuer ist. Kein Kaffee und nur eine Teesorte zur Auswahl.

- Mariah (2/5): unfortunately, I did not have a good stay. I had high hopes. - The location where I slept, the outside door had been messed up by the wind. I was told I would be fine, they propped it closed with the rock. honestly, I did not feel safe all night, anybody or anything could have entered throughout the night. The wind was strong, and the doors and shutters were banging all night that could not shut. Also, I arrived later and they had called previously asking what I want for dinner, never mentioning that it was an extra cost. After I ate dinner, they charged me for dinner, my one beer, and I asked for breakfast and I’m museum tour in the morning. In the morning I went down to the main cabin, and was told I missed breakfast and could not eat or drink any coffee. I did not see a time anywhere on the materials when it was breakfast ended, only the checkout time. I was really excited about using the hot springs, was unable to. I understand this was due to the wind.

- Alessandra (9/5): Das Wilderness Center hat uns super gefallen und wir werden es gerne wieder besuchen! :) - Das Personal im Wilderness Center war sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Wir erhielten viele Tipps für unseren Aufenthalt, die Reise und erhielten eine Tour durch die ganze Farm. Es gibt viele Schafe und Pferde, die man streicheln kann. Wir schliefen im Schlafsaal, waren jedoch die einzigen Gäste dort. Es gab eine Sauna mit Hotpot, welcher jedoch gerade in Wartung war, weshalb man uns Tickets für Hotsprings in der Nähe schenkte. Das fanden wir super. Wir meldeten uns für das traditionelle Abendessen im Restaurant an. Dieses wurde uns ausführlich erklärt und war wirklich sehr lecker! Der Schlafsaal ist wie ein Museum eingerichtet, da das Haus früher einer Bauernfamilie gehörte. Einerseits bietet es Charme andererseits ist es auch etwas gruslig.

We enjoyed the cute museum on site and appreciated the 50% discount! The staff was incredibly helpful. We forgot a suitcase and they quickly realized our mistake and called us before we had been gone more than a few minutes. It was a quick turnaround to be reunited with our belongings! So kind and thoughtful!

- Chiara (9/5): - Sehr freundliches Personal, familiäre Atmosphäre. Das wilderness Center liegt etwas abseits und ist nicht so touristisch wie die Südküste, aber dennoch sehr lebhaft. Die Betten im Schlafsaal sind super gemütlich und es ist trotz der fehlenden Abtrennung erstaunlich ruhig. Zudem phänomenales Essen, sehr authentische Köchin. Super Empfehlung wenn man etwas mehr Ruhe abseits und viel Natur möchte, aber dennoch nicht ganz die Einsamkeit sucht.

The breakfast was very good and the dinner was delightful. We arrived too late to order the meat, but the vegetarian option was spectacular. The scenery around the lodge is wild and beautiful, with sheep grazing the property. The shower did not drain properly.

Nice walk to see the hand cart across the river. The geothermal pool water was cool, not hot. Not worth getting wet for. Would have been nice if museum was complimentary for guests. Breakfast seating was a little cramped.

Would 100% recommend to anyone passing by this area.

- Karen Margrethe (8/5): - Et godt sted, men vær opmærksom på at når der skrives traditionelt sovesal, så menes der en egentlig sovesal med plads til 16. Der er også andre muligheder med normale værelser. Personalet er mega søde og maden smager godt.

Raggiungibile tramite strada sterrata (potrebbe sembrare un punto negativo ma lo scenario in cui la struttura è collocata contribuisce a renderla così affascinante). Camerata comune molto suggestiva, calda e accogliente in stile “casa comune di Hogwarts” con letti comodi, puliti e con ampio spazio sovrastante: non percepirete il senso di claustrofobia che si sente in alcuni ostelli, ma vi dovrete adattare all’idea di essere visibili agli altri ospiti (le tende sono soltanto per chi sceglie il letto a baldacchino presente nella camerata). SPA dotata di hot tub e sauna inclusa nel prezzo. Colazione inclusa nel prezzo INCREDIBILE: tutti prodotti fatti in casa, di ottima qualità (pane e marmellate fatte in casa, Nutella, pancake, frutta fresca e di stagione, uova e affettati e bevande di ogni tipo). La colazione si svolge in alcune stanze comuni arredate con stile in un contesto molto accogliente vicino alla cucina. Staff molto cordiale e disponibile Servizi aggiuntivi disponili consultabili sul sito Internet. Noi in particolare abbiamo usufruito di: - cena; - horse riding. Entrambe esperienze consigliatissime! Pulizia e cura delle parti comuni migliorabile (in particolare sauna). Nella struttura in cui è ubicata l’intera camerata comune (8 letti matrimoniali, corrispondenti a 16 posti letto) previsti solo due bagni (con wc e doccia).

- MA (1/5): La glace de l'accueil, le feu du prix, le bruit des ronflements du dortoir en prime - Le sauna et le hot tub, ainsi que le charme du dortoir à l'islandaise. L'accueil froid, où le sourire mercantile disparaît dès que vous déclinez les nombreuses propositions d'activités hors de prix. Aucun accès à une cuisine, on fait tout pour que vous renonciez à votre popotte et que vous preniez le dîner servi au restaurant pour un prix parisien, alors que nous sommes dans une ferme reculée du bout de l'Islande. Comble de la mesquinerie, on vous fait volontairement attendre 2h30 pour obtenir une bouilloire d'eau chaude, après plusieurs rappels polis de notre part. Soudainement, le service se démène lorsqu'il s'agit de nous "servir" (pardon, jeter) une bière sans verre (à 12€ la canette, plus chère que sur les Champs-Elysées). Sous couvert d'authenticité, l'objectif à peine dissimulé est de vous soulager au maximum de vos couronnes islandaises. A éviter, c'est le seul accueil détestable dans nos 15 jours d'Islande. Il y a eu bien d'autres fermes avec des gens sympas ! (Vallanes, par exemple).

We also appreciate the hot pool, the temperature of the pool was perfect and the facilities well arranged Almost nothing, even if we are not used to sleep in shared rooms, all the guests were quiet and educated and the room was very quiet at night

The food was traditional Icelandic cooking and one of the best meals of our trip. The sleeping arrangements were very tidy and clean. The property staff were all very kind and friendly. We didn’t like that we weren’t told that the museum tour cost money. We were encouraged to go for it because they knew we had some time before dinner. It felt like a scam. We were told that there were accommodations for a sauna, hot pool, and cold pool. However, the hot pool was not hot at all and the cold pool was covered with a wooden board and filled with moss/algae. Our experience was wonderful otherwise but that top incident really soured things.

- Susanne Dimpl (8/5): - Das Abendessen wird mit anderen Gästen an mehreren Tischen eingenommen. Das Essen ist gute Hausmannskost, die Portionen sind reichlich. Teile des Anwesens wirken noch renovierungsbedürftig und haben den Charme einer abgelebten Schihütte. Das Abendessen empfanden wir selbst für Island als zu teuer, die Nachspeise (kleiner Kuchen) wurde nochmals mit €12 verrechnet.

- Ma (10/5): - A gem in a remote location, but surprisingly the hotel is well managed and maintained, room is very clean. Dinner was unforgettable, well organized, delicious and homey food. Thumbs up! It is a good value for our stay. Keep on your good work!
- Martina (10/5): Unique and memorable place :) - The accommodation is situated at the end of the valley, surrounded by beautiful nature. Unfortunately, because we arrived late, we weren't able to take advantage of the amenities offered. However, this did not diminish our overall experience. The bed was suitable for the two of us, and clean bed linen and towels were provided. Additionally, the shared sanitary facilities were kept clean.

- Marco (10/5): - Posto molto accogliente! Su prenotazione offrono una cena con piatti tipici Islandesi con opzione di carne, pesce e vegetariano. Anche la colazione è molto molto buona e ricca. Consigliato per rilassarsi nella piccola struttura termale annessa alla casa.

- Gerald (10/5): - Best ever farm stay and experience. Outstanding staff, food and chef that are well worth the cost. Unexpectedly good dormitory sleeping. Great hot showers are everywhere. Many activities that are well guided and some that are totally sublime that you can do on your own which cost nothing extra. Great Canyonside exploring and waterfalls to chase. Personal transportation to and from the Egilsstadirr airport was a great experience in itself. Will return because the place is magical.
- Hannah (10/5): - Man fühlt sich sofort wie zu Hause. Es ist sehr gemütlich eingerichtet, das Personal ist sehr bemüht, dass jeder einen perfekten Aufenthalt hat, ohne dabei aufdringlich zu sein. Das Essen war super lecker und authentisch, der Spa Bereich war bei jedem Wetter einfach herrlich. Würden es jedem wärmstens empfehlen hier länger zu bleiben.
