Guest Reviews
- Esthefany (10/5): - Good
- Efrain (10/5): - Great value
- Phyllis (6/5): - No breakfast like they said in the morning only thing they serve was decaf coffee and gas sugar. Keep hole in the wall just enough to write lay your head and get up and leave. You get what you pay for.
- Alicia (8/5): - It was quiet and the price was reasonable.
- Brenda (4/5): - They recently changed the name to Grapevine. It was a red carpet. Parking was in the back and if you had a large vehicle, there wasn’t much room. It was very hard to find even using my Waze GPS. They were probably in the process of upgrading it from a red carpet to the grapevine Inn I can only assume.
- Adam (4/5): Never stay here again - The bathtub shower is terrible shower walls have tile falling off so they put A cheep surround on them with masking tape guess what happens when masking tape gets wet so I didn't get A shower . Wallpaper is falling off carpet stinks 2 inch gape under the entry door this place isn't worth $30.00 dollars A night
- Megan (2/5): - Old box tv, limited channels, no wifi as advertised, would not accept my reservation
- Janet (8/5): Quaint Retro Hotel - The gotel is in the process of updating. It was a pretty good value for a place to flop which is what we wanted. The buulding is quite dated but the rooms arw huge compared to today's modern hotels. We did not like the road noise from the highway as we were in a room in the rear nearest the highway. Very friendlt staff, totally retro building. We will stay again. Also, the name has changed to The Red Carpet Inn.
- David (2/5): - The place shouldnt be allowed to operate...Bulldose that smelly flea ridding old flophouse!
I want my money back... DID NOT stay there.
- Gaye (6/5): Basics were acceptable. - The bed was comfortable. The room was quiet. No visible dirt, even carpet seemed clean even if old. The A/C struggled. The motel has several names on different signs. It is behind another building and hard to find. Advertised breakfast was not available even though the lobby had tables, chairs, refrigerator, coffee maker. Room fridge looked new. Everything else was in need of repair and maintenance. Reserved one queen bed. Ended up with two queens. The place is falling apart.
- Raquel (2/5): - What a terrible hotel, the app said “Breakfast included”, but there they said that they will only provide coffee and donuts but when we were to ask for breakfast they said it was gone. There was never anything, the place looks really bad and the room was dirty, the shower was dirty and no toilet paper. Terrible place
- David (4/5): - Wi-Fi signal was crap the was no breakfast just 4 honey buns just terrible will definitely be staying somewhere else next time
- Michael (10/5): - It’s a comfortable but inexpensive place.Quiet too.Everything works AC,hot water, toilet etc.Beds are clean and comfortable. No odors like most hotels have. This place is a gem to me.The woman at the front desk is friendly and interesting to talk to also.
- David (6/5): - Friendly service.
Property is in terrible condition, total disrepair. Wall paper falling off, filthy ac unit, rot around windows, rusty fixtures. Lobby is scary!!!
- Shaunna (2/5): Don’t waste your time - It’s very run down the rooms need a lot of work the rugs made my feet very dirty on the bottom I put my sandals back on I’m use to staying one night in a motel or dives as you will but this one has been the worst they do not have breakfast and it’s advertised that they do there is a McDonald’s right down the road the fridge and the ice box are dirty. The hot water is warm at best the bathrooms are dirty and the shower head was not placed on the wall properly I’m 5’7 and I had to squat down to shower . do not recommend and will not be back thank god for disinfectant! Definitely not worth what they are charging.
- Tracy (2/5): - Had better stays
- Cody (2/5): - There was no hott water no heat
- Sihan (8/5): - What more do we expect from $50 stay.
It's good
- Sandra (4/5): old but usable - there was no continental breakfast not even coffee.
room was cleanish. carpert was old and flooring was old. bedding pristine.
- Denise (8/5): If your expectations aren’t high, this is for you! - It was fine for what we needed. A clean, bug free place to sleep and refresh. The woman who checked us in was pleasant and helpful to the surrounding area. The motel itself is like one from the 1980’s. However, as soon as you open the door you can see it is clean and smell the cleanliness. We ordered a Smoke-free room, and before we opened the door, I had my reservations because the drapes looked like they were stained with nicotine. It was only stain, the room had no smoke smell. TV was via antenna I believe. Every channel we could get was snowy. Not a big deal. Like I said, we only needed a place to sleep.
- Sandra (8/5): - It was what you would expect for the price. Our beds were very comfortable and we had a good nights sleep. The room was clean but VERY worn. I think that they could make the doors to the rooms have quieter closer. There was a loud bang when our door and neighbors doors would close. We will be staying here again.
- Bonita (8/5): - Nice place, no problems. A little hard to spot from the road.
- George (8/5): No bugs, cheap, could be cheaper - It wasn't terrible. Smelled kind of bad, but no bugs, and it was pretty quiet despite the paper thin walls. TV didn't have a clear picture, one of the beds was wobbly and the water turned brown coming out of the tub. Cigarette burn on the toilet seat in a non-smoking room.
Like I said, no bugs. We got some sleep and left. Cheap and right off the highway. Four stars because no bugs. Thst was clearly my biggest concern.
- Vanessa (6/5): Last resort for staying - Beds were comfortable. TV service was horrible. Rugs needed shampooed, doors and security of the doors definitely need upgraded. It works for a cheap stay.
- Greg (2/5): - This was the filthiest hotel I have ever been in. The rooms were not what the website indicated. Very outdated. Wallpaper peeling, wires exposed from ceiling. Walls had holes. Bathroom was disastrous, with toilet leaking onto bathroom floor. Shower stall disgusting and hairy.
We left immediately. Thankfully we were given a refund. DO NOT GO HERE!!!
- Verified traveler (8/5): - The television needs a major update. There werent many channels either so wasn't able to enjoy watching while I relaxed. Not even an option for movies.
- Jiankang (6/5): - Bad service, breakfast is not provided as conventional as what they ad. But it is clean and tidy
- Tricia (2/5): - I got there and received the rudest reception by being told that I didn’t have a reservation when I did. The room itself stunk, there were scratches on the wall, drawer missing in the dresser and the nightstand wood was splitting. The bedcovers looked dirty. There was no continental breakfast!
- Duane (2/5): - I would never stay there or recommend. It smelled so horrible in front office we refused to stay at such a place. HORRIBLE!
- Verified traveler (2/5): Stay away - This facility should be taken off your site; the place is atrocious. Rotting wood, holes in ceilings and walls, peeling and dingy paint, fridge freezer had other occupant's spill. Overall dirty and dingy. We changed rooms once because of terrible condition; the next rm was not much better.
- Verified traveler (2/5): Stay away - This facility should be taken off your site; the place is atrocious. Rotting wood, holes in ceilings and walls, peeling and dingy paint, fridge freezer had other occupant's spill. Overall dirty and dingy. We changed rooms once because of terrible condition; next rm not much better. We checked out a day early and booked in at Holiday Inn, 3 x the cost but so well worth it.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Very very dated motel, rooms are very old ,everything is very very old..but clean...adequate...it served its purpose.
- Adriana (2/5): - Very run down. It was clean but that was the only positive thing. The door was missing the deadbolt, there was no Internet and no toiletries whatsoever.
- Kevin (2/5): - Initially given a room the quality of which was unlivable. Did get a replacement room but carpet was filthy, bathroom supplies pretty much non existent, plaster needed repair and smell was of stale, cheap perfume. Learned a lesson- will never return!
- Marilyn (8/5): - Closse to the marina .
- Marilyn (8/5): - It was close to the Marina where we fish.Friendly staff.
- Jennie (2/5): - The motel is in shambles. Carpets dirty, flooring cracked and missing tiles. Breakfast is a joke. Packaged rolls and cereal. I would not recommend this.
- Mark (2/5): - They never came to the desk to check us in so we couldn’t stay there
- Sherry (2/5): - When I got to the property they said they didnt have a reservation for us even though I had a confirmation and a text from the manager. The front desk person called the manager and he said give us a room. She found a room for us and procedded to charge us $94 even though the reservation said $56. We would have gone somewhere else but the closest dog friendly hotel was 30 milea back the opposite direction and we had been driving for 12 hours. When we got in the room
we were shocked it was in complete disrepair. The wallpaper was ripped off the wall in multiple places, bugs in lights, bathtub was rusted out and smoke alarm had been torn off the wall. We stayed there only a few hours and decided we would rather get on the road rather than stay there. WORST HOTEL EXPERIENCE WEVE EVER HAD!
- Nickolas (2/5): - Stayed one night and booked my room on here when I got there the lady was super rude and didn’t even know that we had a room booked. Our room had no hot water so we couldn’t shower. There was no soap just in case we forgot to bring some. Very rude staff will not be staying again
- wayne (2/5): - This place is in such poor condition. The lobby was run down and falling apart. Towels in front of the door to keep water from running in. Now the room. The ceiling above my bed was falling down. I woke to pieces of it on my pillow. The door had a gap under it big enough to pass a cat through. It rained and wind blew the rain in under the door. The bathroom was a mess. I’ve use porta Jon’s at the fair that were better shape. The shower had plastic taped on the walls with white duct tape to cover the tiles that were missing. There’s also a train that goes by all hours of the night. The dresser drawer next to the bed was full of mouse terds. I would not recommend room 8
- william (8/5): - Although the property is very close to the interstate highway and our room faced the highway, once the door was closed there was very little noise. Once inside the room it is as good as any two-star hotel, with plenty of hot water, a mini-fridge, clean towels and bedsheets. There was a minimal free breakfast available--coffee, danish, cereal, and bananas. I only saw one staff person doing the check-in, cleaning the rooms, etc. She was very friendly and helpful. The hotel exterior to the guest rooms is in shambles. Either the plan is to close it down, or do a major renovation.
- Stacy (6/5): - Staff was nice but had a hard time understanding the desk clerk. And Breakfast was a joke a Honey Bun and some Raisin Brand. Also had issues with the TV sometimes we a clear picture. And I have to admit the rooms were not bad I have stayed in worse.
- Wayne (2/5): - The place was Dirty and had Bugs we have never stayed at a place so Yucky
- Patricia (4/5): - More maintenance of the facility and rooms is needed. Needs to be refurbished. The rooms were actually clean though, we didn't find any dust.
- Alijah Lee (10/5): - The staff were all extremely understanding about a hardship that I had occur while staying with them. They allowed us to add on extra days into it original stay plan. They could use some updating but over all it nice and quiet and enjoyed the time away from NY
- Lavante (2/5): - Mold on the bed, shower was only 4 foot tall and ceiling was caving in due to moisture. Could not stay here and requested a refund.
- Jonathan (2/5): - The hotel was lower than average however the fact that the faucet produced yellowish brown water led me to check into another hotel so that I could shower. It is likely due to the low patronage that the pipes hadn't been used in a long time.
- Richard (6/5): Adequate, almost. - Positive, the beds are comfortable.
Not so good, The place is old and in need of a lot of work, t.v. reception sucks and there are no amenities.
- Angela (4/5): Don’t stay - Hotel was clean but very run down if you used a curling iron it trip the gfi and turn off the light above the mirror. No plug for the tub so I couldn’t take a bath. Free breakfast was a joke. No tea or fresh fruit. Only 1 chose for cereal or a danish I will not stay they again.
- Victoria (10/5): Victoria - Excellent peaceful just right
- sharath chandra reddy (2/5): - Terrible
- Samantha (8/5): - Good place to stay for a couple nights. Clean. The owners are trying to update the property.
- Paul (6/5): Quick rest. - It was just a quick stop overnight on a 16 hour drive from Tennessee to New York. Didn't really want to make a big deal about it.
- ralph (2/5): - Reserved on site. Went to check-in. Was told no reservation in our name. Tried to show clerk confirmation info. Refused to look. Very rude. We left. Good decision. Place was a dump!! Don’t stay there
- Patrick (4/5): - Would nor recommend anyone stay there.
- Stefanie (6/5): - Older tv and no wifi. Carpet sitting outside by my room that appears to have been there for quite some time. There was crickets and potato bugs in the bathroom at night.
- Scott (6/5): - Cheapest place around. What I expected. Pretty clean
- Bonnie (4/5): - Condition needs updating and repairs and maintenance. Amount of charge is to much for accommodations of inn. Shouldn't be $106.00 - should be $40 Max. Part of inn to left of office is decent and cute ^$50 * worth night not $106----although bottom and right is in terrible shape in and out .
- Bonnie (4/5): - Left side is adorable altogether not worth $$
- HANY (2/5): - Actually I didn't like anything in this property
- Benjamin (10/5): - Decent little night stay. Some language issue with clerk but it worked out.
- Christina (6/5): - The property is old. It seems to be in process of being remodeled but I'm not sure how long it's been "in process". Parking is fine in front but the back is sketchy. Door didn't open from outside so we had to go back around front to get in. The vibe is just....bad. Won't stay here again.
- Sarah (2/5): - Old filthy rooms, leaking toilet, no television reception horribly uncomfortable beds. Even switched rooms and still no better except that toilet didn't leak found hairs in the bed before I ever climbed in. Stay away.
- Verified traveler (6/5): won't stay there ever again - Room was clean, slept comfortably. Desk service was below acceptable. found bugs in the bathroom and facility needs updating BADLY.
- Steven (4/5): Poor - The room was no in good condition.
Steve
- Shawn (2/5): - It was very run down, smelled a lot of water damage.
- Brion S (2/5): - The staff was very unprofessional
- MUMTAV (2/5): - The customer service is very bad, also the facility.
- nancy (2/5): - Bed was clean but the rest of the property was very run down and neglected
- Michael (2/5): - Sorry can’t say anything good about the stay. Hotel room was maybe 100 yards from the thruway, but the noises air conditioners drowned out the noise of a 1000 trucks driving by. However, nothing could distract us of having to smell that we were staying at the bottom of an ashtray. Oh by the way, continental breakfast was non existent.
- Bruce (4/5): - Lots of maintenance has been skipped.
- Austin (2/5): - Bed clean. Property in disrepair. Breakfast meager.
- Kimberly (2/5): - Toilet was not anchored down, made it dangerous, tv did not work, tub area was disgisting
- Rebecca (10/5): - Love the vintage feel of this place!! Fields behind the property surrounded by fireflies and wild flowers were great for dog walks.
- Pamela (4/5): - The owners were nice but the hotel was badly run down air condition units work minimally. It smelled musty and things are just so old and grimy they can not be cleaned.Bed was comfy and they tried to make room nicer. There are simple improvements they could make. I only stayed 1 night instead of 2. Wasnt refunded. There were no chain locks on inside of doors and the door locks were old. They need a big investment and hard work to fix this place up.
- Thomas (2/5): Value but with sacrifice - Well, the room, Sim, clean maintenance was long since forgotten they were watermarks on the ceiling. There had been a Kleenex holder for choice, Ruston the air conditioners cover, was off, and it felt gloomy
- Kevin (4/5): - Very dated. Could use a fresh paint inside and outside. Bathroom could use some work rusty hooks tile looked like it was from the 70’. Air conditioning didn’t work very well. Positives cost and bed where comfortable.
- Arne (4/5): - needs a total overhaul, paint, woodwork, cement
- Sean (2/5): - Cracking peeli g, falling waterstained ceiling paint.tub wasnt functing correctly.rugs smelled and horribly stained and dirty
- Jackie (10/5): - Good
- Jamie (8/5): - The location right next to two fireworks stores leaves something to be desired. The property is in pretty severe disrepair, but we didn't have any issues with the room itself--sheets smelled clean like laundry soap, for example. If you're just looking for somewhere to lay your head for the night, it will do.
- Kevin (6/5): - Old and out of date, wallpaper pealing off the walls water stains in ceiling from a leak. No alarm clock, no tissues, only one soap. Continental breakfast was a joke. I would never let anyone stay here. You should drop it from your site.
- Stephen (8/5): Travelling Australians - Well priced for what it is and in comparison to the surrounding area. The room was neat, the bed was clean and comfortable. The inside is better than the outside, its a family business trying to renovate a very old hotel. Breakfast is very basic, cereal, bananas, the coffee was hot and the sugar coated cinnamon scroll was actually very nice. If your looking for a cheap overnighter this is perfectly suitable on your way to Niagara Falls.
- tim (2/5): - There was nothing to like about this property. Front desk staff had limited command of the English language and could not operate computer for check-in/check-out. Bathroom had stains around toilet & warped tiles. Bathtub had rust around drain. No security on door. Guests in nearby rooms were having a party outdoors near room until 1:30 am until a complaint was called into the front desk. Check-in info was handwritten on a slip of paper as was the check-out receipt (not on hotel letter head). Broken sidewalks, crumbling overhead sidewalk, used carpet roll outside. No in room coffee. Would not recommend facility to worst enemy. Best way to upgrade this property is to demo it. Expedia should be ashamed allowing this property to be on their website.
- Patricia (10/5): - Clean room. Wonderful bed! Slept like a log!! Also nice and quiet. The lady at the desk was very nice , also.
- Sarah (10/5): - The woman at the desk was so nice and helpful ☺️
- Mary (8/5): - We were happy with the cleanliness & service at Red Carpet Inn…a bargain too!
- Lewis (8/5): - Moma said if you don't have something nice to say, don't say anything!
- Mr Ken (10/5): pleasnt surprise. Two thumbs up - This place is a hidden gem. It is hard to believe that you can still get decent quality such as this.. in this price range.
The place is very 'vintage', and seems to have much of the original decor and fixtures of the era that it was built. this is quite exceptional, as everything is decent, and surprisingly well maintained. >> Yes.. it is not the Taj Mahal, but it was perfect for someone on a budget,.. close to the highway, easy check in and overall very quiet. Surprisingly clean and well maintained for an older property. The owners have done their due diligance in keeping the place decent and a viable option at this incredible price range
- Frank (10/5): - Great value.
- Jennifer (2/5): - I was completely surprised when I arrived at the property. In the Expedia posting when booking the room there was a statement saying that breakfast was included with the room, but when I checked in the desk person said that they only had coffee in the morning due to covid. I later went back to the posting and there was small text included stating that some amenities were not available at the site due to covid... really wished that would've been highlighted a little better considering that the "amenities" that were unavailable were not listed and I don't feel that free breakfast is a minor thing to just gloss over that briefly.
Then when I actually got to the room, I was rather taken aback by the condition of the room. While it was clean, it appeared in disrepair. There was literal scotch tape holding portions of the wall paper onto the wall. The heating unit in the wall was insulated by a ton of packing tape. There were several chips, cracks, etc that were all minor, yet taken together just made it look like the place was crumbling/falling apart. But, I was pleased that the bed at least looked clean and the mattress was in a protective mattress bag, so no signs of bedbugs or any such disturbing discoveries. The lighting by the bathroom creepily flickered on when activated and the door leading into the hallway inside the building had a broken chain so could not be used for security. I'm out of space, so just not the best experience at all.
- David (4/5): - Advertised breakfast but hadn't served it since early covid. wifi was so slow it was useless
- Jeff (2/5): - This was the Worst Hotel I have EVER Stayed at!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- David (8/5): - I stayed hear because it was CHEAP and near an event I was attending. This place has seen better days. The owners appear to be in the process of renovating, though. My room was a corner unit, and it was 6° f at the time. The heat was off when I entered the room, so it was pretty chilly. I turned on the heater, and it worked like a champ. There was sagging wallpaper arount the AC unit and corners of the room. Once the room was up to temp, it was pretty comfortable. I checked out the room and it had clean sheets and towels, and the bathroom area was clean. Working TV, microwave and fridge/freezer. I needed a clean bed and a shower and this place delivered. If you need the same, I'd suggest trying this hotel.
- Chad (6/5): - Needs updated
- Kelsey (6/5): - Staff was nice. Needs updates and general work done inside and outside the property. Okay for a quick one night stay.
- Craig (6/5): - The people were very nice. Room was clean. Room was very well used and needs remodeling both outside and in, but it was a cheap room.
- james (2/5): - bugs. no locks on doors. run down
- Lisa (10/5): Good stay for the price - This motel was inexpensive and a perfect stop along the route of my trip. The place is clean but fairly beat up over the years. The bed and linens were new and very comfortable. But the carpet is long overdue for replacement and the walls need updating. TV, microwave, and mini-fridge all in good shape. There wasn't any continental breakfast which was supposedly included.
