Guest Reviews
- Dave (4/5): -
- LouisePK (6/5): Budget motel - The location, handy to Christchurch and there was a pub/restaurant there. They were going to cancel our accommodation even though id sent a message to say we were flooded in Luckily id called on the trip down there abd showed them the flooded photos otherwise i dont think they believed us. . The jug didn't work, no milk just creamer sachets (yuck) the beds were so low to the ground and the springs kept making noises when you moved. There was a huge cobweb in the bathroom, been there for sometime by the look. The TV was so tiny. The toilet was so small. You coud hear the person next door snoring and using the toilet You definitely get what you pay for!! Thank god it was only 1 night.
- Lauren (5/5): - It was handy to the kaikanui where the reasons for our stay. The shower was the best bit of the accommodation. The mouse poo on the kitchen bench and the toilet on the lean. And the slider door was not good at sliding.
- Tara (9/5): - Lovely friendly staff
- JEFF (3/5): Very disapointing - Cleanliness, under bed dirty and rubbish there. Two windows had a missing latch. Advertised as carpeted, it wasn't. Ditto air conditioning. There was no mirror and the bathroom toilet area was very cramped.
- David (10/5): -
- Graeme (7/5): - Friendly staff, meal at restaurant was great value, service was exceptional.
- Mr.Gavin (8/5): - Good đ Nothing
- Trish (7/5): Quiet, easy walk into the city, onsite parking - Location was great. Easy walk to the centre of the city Itâs an older property but for one night was fine
- Hood (8/5): Lovely and clean and comfy. - All very comfy and clean, could have done with a small table to go with the 2 chairs and a teatowel. Nothing.
- Brent (8/5): -
- Connor (7/5): -
- Michelle (4/5): Handy to our location for our event but thatâs where the positives end. Highly disappointed - We like the location for our event We are disappointed in the cleanliness and up keep of the room.
The fact we closed the door to look in the mirror and screws came out and then opening the window in the toilet and it then couldnât shut, then meant for unwanted creepy crawlies in the night.
- Daniel (8/5): - Just what we wanted for one night Bit near the main road
- Carmen (5/5): - The location. Being so closed to the motorway. No sofa. And the bed was too uncomfortable.
- Trish (3/5): - Close to the speedway track Basically every thing. Have never given a bad review before but the cottages at this place where rough. Really dirty inside, had to wash the dishes so coud use them. Fridge wasn't working, they fixed that but was dirty inside. Carpets, skirting boards, walls all grubby. Wouldn't recommend
- David (8/5): comfortable and clean - all fine Booking .com messing up the booking. We grateful staff had a room for us and were apologetic and kind - gave us a box of chocolates
TV remote wouldn't work. Uncomfortable chairs to sit in at night
- Jeff (8/5): Clean and comfortable at a good price. - Easy access and near good restaurants. Road noise noticeable but not overwhelming.
- Nicola (7/5): -
- Wendy (7/5): -
- Nigel (6/5): It filled our needs - Convenient at short notice - shower was excellent Lack of seating/table
- FrankG (9/5): Good accomodation at the price - The staff & the new cabin we were in.
- Mieke (10/5): -
- THREADWELL (3/5): Will not be staying again at Pineacres - Wayne the manager made us wel ome - he was witty with his jokes. That the beds were uncomfortable and the heat pump didn't work. The unit was freezing cold. We were unable to get a response from the manager after trying 4 times on the intercom then another 2 times on the 03 #
Very poor
- Jaana (8/5): Lovely. Thank you - My daughter lives close by in Pines beach where they were advised to be ready to be evacuated. Because she is heavily pregnant, it was wiser to just get her out in case things escalated and she couldn't get out. Man was lovely and was able to get her and her partner in at last minute.
- Glenn (7/5): - Helpful staff
- Chris (4/5): wont be back - The room was very smelly, the bathroom was dirty
- Dave (3/5): Disappointing experience due to cleanliness. - Road noise, driveway full of pot holes, no milk provided, hair and dust all over the floors, tv didnât work and kitchen benches covered in dust.
- Trish (6/5): Pleasant -
- Peter (3/5): Poor -
- Climo (10/5): Owner was very nice when we arrived the studio was nice and clean had everything we need for a night away and it was ver -
- Denise (10/5): Exceptional - Great cabin/studio. Terrific customer service
- Hayden (10/5): Exceptional -
- Daniel (3/5): Pay to ask if your getting what's pictured on the app beforehand - The restaurant was nice Misleading room details photos were from the bigger nicer rooms but i ended up stuffed in one of those smaller units, dirty, no smoke detector, bugs on the ground, bed looked older than me, note im 36, electrical power points/light switches broken, test tags all out of date, floor that uneven that the crappy outdoor table thats inside wouldn't sit flat on it, expensive for what it is considering its next to the main road
- Kathleen (7/5): Good -
- Lorraine (4/5): - Beds need updating - they are too old and bedding is old, pillows uncomfortable. Units not soundproof. No milk provided for a cuppa in the morning.
- Jacks (8/5): Very good -
- Ian (1/5): Not impressed, Wayne tried his best, but not helped by emergency housing in the Motor Camp part, nor help from the Asian - Location suited us as Christchurch fully booked out. Stuck in a Container unit
Shower did not drain
No TV Remote for 4 days
- Tony (8/5): Great - Staff were very friendly. Rooom was clean. Had everything you needed.
- Heather (6/5): Pleasant -
- Alan (8/5): - The accommodations and the host were very nice. A large campground behind the suites was unexpected
- Susie (7/5): Good -
- Kiwijon (6/5): Not for us - The room itself was nice enough Quite new, 2 double beds. Plenty of space. The bloke at reception was clearly having a bad day but was very friendly and apologetic about all the chaos. It's right beside State Highway 1 so there is a lot of traffic noise. The bar/ restaurant on the same property closed early- before 7.30pm, so we had to go back into town to eat. The whole complex feels run down.
- Laurence (8/5): - Handy to State Highway 1. Easy to find.
- Justine (7/5): Good -
- Rissa (10/5): Exceptional -
- Shari (7/5): exactly what I was looking for. - The room was great and located right next to a pub which does nice meals. I did need to buy a new pillow as the one's in the room where too hard. There is a laundry in the camp sight which was convenient as stayed for 6 days. If had not gone to the laundry would not have known the campgrounds are a bit run down as room stay is separate and in great condition. pub next door has very friendly staff.
- Hawke (9/5): Superb - It was close to kaiapoi town center and there was a nice restaurant and bar on site Because it's by a busy highway you can hear Traffic passing day and night
- Emma (9/5): Private and relaxing. Great location, great price - Fantastically comfortable, great private rooms and such a lovely welcoming on arrival. Lovely and friendly my toddler and I were able to have a long solid sleep after such a big drive. Could be cleaner but overall absolutely coming again
- Marion (8/5): Very good -
- Vaughn (7/5): Ok - The location No hot water
- Kevin (9/5): Very good thank you đ - Difficult to find but once we knew how to get in there all good
Very noise neboursat night had an argument and we could hear every word the yelling at each other
But it was a lovely place thank you đ New towels for the second day would have been amazing
- Miriata (4/5): Cancelled my 7 day booking the next day. Clearly states the experience - Everything!
- Jasmine (8/5): Very good -
- Keesha (8/5): Walk to the pub is 2min - If you're looking for accommodation right next to a restaurant & bar then this is your place. There were no extra blankets, only 1 blanket on bed & the pillows weren't the best. I'd definitely take extra blankets next time.
- Clouston (7/5): It was comfortable and warm. - It was fairly private. The room was warm and in a sunny position. It was close to Kaiapoi and a short drive to Rangiora. The driveway into the place needs a serious upgrade, full of potholes. The room needed a spring clean, the standard of cleanliness was not very good.
- Simon (8/5): Very good -
- Pete (7/5): affordable comfortable and enjoyable - we had a comfortable stay and found that the accommodations were of a good standard
- Katrina (3/5): Poor - Staff were friendly and helpful Facilities a little run down and need an upgrade. Beds were uncomfortable
- Marilyn (8/5): Very good - n/a the receptionist (a elderly man) could have been dressed more appropriately, instead of shorts and no top
- Michael (5/5): Value for money - Liked location and comfort of bed Only 2 sachets of coffee and 1 teabag for 8 night stay
- Christopher (2/5): - Busted pipes, limited water for 2 days, then no hot water for showerâŚ
- Sheryl (1/5): Never stay there again - Location This unit was run down and dirty
- Martin (1/5): This place does not exists, give me money back booking.com! - This place does not exists, give me money back booking.com!
- Brenda (3/5): It only takes a small piece to make an impression on a person - The fact i could lay my head down to sleep Most of it
- Allison (1/5): The units wouldn't take much to be pleasant accommodation. Not sure, though think most of the accomm - Gentleman at reception was pleasant. Even gave us chocolates. Though on hindsight this was a sweetener for the poor accommodation. Room wasn't ready on our arrival early evening. Room wasn't clean. Toilet hadn't been cleaned, floor hadn't been brushed or washed.Curtains were filthy. Not at all pleasant.
- John (8/5): Very good - Excelent quality for cost and therefore great value
- Tania (1/5): Would never try and book there again - No one responded to door bell at 630pm even though door sign said open.
Said use phone on outside of building after hours but note on phone said broken.
Rang the number from my mobile.
A blunt man answered.
I explained I had a booking, just arrived from the coast after a three hour drive.
He said he had nothing available.
I said I have a confirmation from booking .come and when I booked it said one room available.
He was grumpy and rude, said he told booking .com he had no rooms.
I said ok sir, he said ok madam and hung up on me. Everything
No service
No care given about nowhere to stay
No recommendations
The place is run down and unkept
Pleased I didnât end up being able to stay there
- Arnold (7/5): Good - Waynes humour and attitude! He's a bloody good sort and I thoroughly enjoyed bantering with him at check in/out. Even gave us a box of chocolates for the long weekend (after we were very late checking in to our room) Bed was broken and propped up by wooden blocks. Bit of a surprise when you go to lie on it and the slats all fall to the floor.
- Anneka (3/5): Poor - It was an Emergency housing facility, which I wasn't aware of. This was not disclosed on the website.
- Karilyn (1/5): Bad - We didnât like turning up for our booking and being told there wasnât any for us. We had booked online and they had double booked We weâre not the only ones it happened to. We would not bother coming there again. Not funny looking for accommodation at night
- Kerri (8/5): Very good - Ideal location for a holiday break
Good facilities for a studio unit Got a bit cold overnight but heat pump sorted that
- Claire (5/5): Not very impressed... - Didn't have breakfast. The shower was dirty. No couch or anywhere comfy to sit.
The TV is way too high.
The room was freezing when we arrived.
- Way (7/5): What ya see, is what ya get! - It suited my needs perfectly & the Tavern next door was a gem, serving quality food by friendly staff & with non-hostile regulars. Nothing. It's very much a down-to-earth site that's reasonably priced for the cabins which are modern, bright & spacious with an en-suite & kitchenette. The only shocker was that at the rear was a "trailer-park" which did not bother me in the slightest.
- Kirsten (1/5): The filthiest place Iâve ever stayed in. Would never stay again and advise you all not to also -
- John (5/5): Passable - some black mould in shower area
- Sharon (7/5): Good -
- Janet (9/5): suited my needs -
- Kate (7/5): Good -
- Peter (5/5): Passable - Price The noise from people next door!
- Kate (5/5): Passable - good facility, plenty hot water and good kitchen Very noisy with trucks going past all night-
Beds and pillows very hard and uncomfortable!
- Debra (8/5): Great location for us, well priced rooms - Location suited us perfectly Could of had a bedside light in the room
- Scott (10/5): Exceptional -
- Kate (1/5): would never go back - the location was good for our purpose it was not clean at all. it is being used for emergency housing, this should be advertised
- Kevin (10/5): Exceptional - Friendly serviceĂž
- Maree (4/5): Disappointing - The location. We didn't have to go into chch for accommodation. Everything else....... The manager reckoned he didn't have a booking for us.... Lucky I had printed off the booking confirmation.... The manager himself made a joke about having a bed at the bottom of the lake!. ... When we arrived he was on the phone and when he had finished he said he had just sold the last room! After much deliberation we got a key to a room. The room itself was average.... A portacom.
- Ann (6/5): Cheap and cheerful - Sunny studio cabin with great air conditioning. Handy for airport. Clean and suitable for our needs as we only needed one night. Near a busy road and a little noisy at night. Lumpy pillows.
- Bridget (8/5): Very good -
- Graeme (7/5): Good -
- Karyn (1/5): absolute nightmare donât recommend at all. - nothing everything, no running water.rude owner. dirty .
- Fyfe (6/5): Pleasant -
- Mc (6/5): Pleasant -
- Tamara (3/5): Poor - We messaged the property via booking.com to organise an early check in, when we arrived, the owner knew nothing about this and was extremely rude and aggressive, just overall unprofessional about the whole situation.
- Arii (4/5): Too close to motorway traffic, noise was loud. Loud music late night early morning. Not ideal. - The room was ok The loud music through the late night from long term residents.
- Rochelle (6/5): Pleasant - Staff pleasant and knowledgeable One of the beds was too hard the other damaged
- Ian (6/5): Pleasant -
- Owen (5/5): Passable - I liked that there was a restaurant and bar within walking distance. The manager not being there on arrival. Check in times need changed.
The police showing up and doing checks on other stayers. Possibly long term staying.
Beds not very comfy.
- Carolyn (8/5): Very good - Had all we needed, and was clean
- Nina (8/5): Very good -
- Michael (9/5): Superb -
