Guest Reviews
- SIN YEE (8/5): - The hotel is clean and the shared bathroom is also new on our building's second floor. The breakfast doesn't offer a huge variety but good enough, including fresh pastries and eggs, offered in a cozy room. It was overall a lovely hotel, and with the very affordable price, a very competitive offer in Venice.
However, the doors are absolutely poor in sound proof and many people just don't know how to gently close their room/bathroom doors. Therefore, the shared bathroom setting makes constant noises at bed time and in the morning unavoidable which should be taken account of while booking.
- Niels G. (10/5): - Welcoming staff was very helpful and informative. Had difficulty time locating the property. Would be great if there was a detailed description on how to get from the train station to the location. Might recommend taking the T-2 train to Belfiore stop. Goggle maps continued to give us bad information, we spent an hour walking in circles!
- marianne (6/5): - Charming hotel. But very limited breakfast.
- Tetiana (8/5): - Everything was great! Just one thing: I asked to warm up a croissant and was told we don't do it, even the previous day it was done
- Madayi (2/5): - Ir has very good Location, near restaurants and shopping areas. I don’t like we have to share bathroom
- Guillermo (10/5): - Great!!!
- Giuliana (10/5): - I've been staying at Dalla Mora since 1990. Always a pleasure!
- Jorie (10/5): - nice place
- Eddie (10/5): Location, Location, Location - Luvvly little hotel in which we booked the en suite room which was perfect for our needs.
Breakfast on offer was fresh croissants, bread, cheese, eggs, coffee, tea, juice etc.
All staff were very pleasant and approachable at all times.
Wouldn’t hesitate to stay again with the location being absolutely ideal and minutes from the Campo Santa Margherita which was a square surrounded by bars/restaurants, bus station, railway station and a multitude of smaller canals/bridges, brilliant. My review title says it all.
- Michelle (10/5): - Loved our stay! Great accommodation in an excellent location. Loved the breakfast too!
- Zoi (10/5): - The Hotel was perfect for our stay in Venice, clean, comfortable and friendly
- Warren (8/5): - Close to train station, but well located. Easy place to start meandering thru the streets of Venice
- Meed (8/5): - good
- Riley (10/5): - Very nice :)
- James (10/5): - Clean, comfortable, friendly, nice breakfast & great view of canal from our room.
- todd (10/5): -
Great staff and riding in my heart of Venice
- Maria Fernanda (8/5): - Lugar acogedor !
- María Fernanda (4/5): - Área insegura, nos robaron cartera y pasaporte justo a las afueras del hotel, el área es mala, e insegura.
El personal fue muy amable.
- Marco (10/5): - Excelente hotel
- Avegail (10/5): - Accessible, walkable, shopping also. Dining options closed by to our hotel, strongly recommended to a friend.
- Mary (10/5): - Nice staff, clean rooms, antique decor & atmosphere.
- Debora (10/5): - The canal views from our bedroom window were very charming. Breakfast very good. Super clean.
- Claudette (10/5): - Stay was very nice for the price. Comfortable bed.
- Elizabeth (10/5): - We were so pleasantly surprised and happy with our stay here! We had room #2 which is located right by the reception / breakfast room, so we expected to hear a lot of noise while in our room but it was actually quite minimal. The view was absolutely stunning and what had shocked us the most - we were right on the water! The water pressure in the shower was great, and the Italian breakfast provided was very good, not just pastries. The staff were very kind and we would recommend this stay to our friends and family.
- Vadim (10/5): Very good - Very Friendly Staff Excellent Hotel I recommended to everybody
- paul (8/5): - Be aware, you are paying for a basic hotel, room 4 had en suite bathroom and air con and no tv or drink making facilities and no fridge. I believe some rooms may have a shared bathroom.
Breakfast is included, but is very basic but fine.
Very clean, quiet and staff very helpful.
Remember, you only need this to get your head down at night, you will be out exploring all day/evening.
Very good base to stay !!
You get what you pay for. We loved it as it served our purpose!!!!
- Helen (10/5): - The Hotel Dalla Mora is a lovely small hotel with a very friendly atmosphere. It was exactly what we needed for our short stay in Venice. Breakfast was good & the staff we very friendly & helpful in giving us advice on how to get around the beautiful city of Venice
- mary (10/5): - Great stay & staff
- Roger (10/5): - Very charming and clean. Wonderful simple breakfast. We loved this place and right on canal. Has a cute outdoor patio!
- Gloria (8/5): - Fácil acceso, Tranquilo, limpio.
Muy sencillo y cómodo.
- Mark (10/5): - Well located. Second floor patio overlooking feeder canal. Moderately priced, basic, well-maintained room. It exceeded our expectations.
- Joel (10/5): - We loved our stay here. The room was clean. The staff was friendly, and we liked that it was at the end of a quiet street. Would stay again.
- Mary (8/5): - Staff are friendly. Location is good to walk and explore Venice but definitely a few staircases to navigate to get there if arriving from the train station. Breakfast options are very limited.
- Deepak (8/5): - It’s an old property but we’ll-located with a good breakfast and nice balcony overlooking a canal. However, there was no air conditioning in my single room and it was quite uncomfortable at night on a humid day since if h left the window open, mosquitoes would get you and the fan that they provided when I complained was loud! I was told on the second night that my single room did not include aircondioning even tho there was a unit in the room and a remote that did not work! Not happy about that.
- Laura (10/5): - Location was close to all main attractions of Venice, breakfast was amazing with lots to choose from!
Clean and tidy room with a view of the water
- AMY (8/5): - You couldn’t ask for more for the price. It was always clean. The shared washroom was kept clean.
- Olindo (10/5): - Great area, close to train station, quiet location, quaint,...
Our only suggestion would be to have somewhere to place our luggage instead of floor and it supplies breakfast but would not let us take a something as we were leaving prior to 8am breakfast to catch our train. Overall, we would return.
- Maxine (10/5): Amazing stay - Lovely quaint cheap hotel in the middle of the chaos that is venice .manager very friendly . Room small but adequate. Ask for room 5 as it has a bathroom and a lovely window view of the canal . A small balcony seating area which catches the late afternoon sun . Would recommend this to anyone on a budget
- Annie (10/5): - Lovely quiet location in Venice, but easy accessible to anywhere in the City! Perfect for our needs!
- Linda (10/5): - Lovely space to rest for the night with an awesome view of the canals. Safe, queit and clean. Nice to have a shower in our room, sharing the bathroom with four other rooms on the floor was easy, only waited once for using. There's a sink in the room so easy for getting ready night and morning.
Breakfast was nice, continental style with boiled eggs. Super comfortable sleep. Would stay again. Close to shops and restaurants. 10 minute walk from train.
- John (8/5): - Great Property, let me check in an hour earlywithout notification. Fantastic location with great food options nearby.
- Cherryl (8/5): - average for this area. no lift
- Kevin (10/5): - For the price , the location was great and the staff super friendly, I highly recommend this place.
- Rolando (8/5): - Like when open the window inside the shower
- Verified traveler (10/5): Enjoyable 1 noght stay - Lovely little hotel. Great location and super friendly staff. Easy to get to following google maps
- Sabina (6/5): - Very close to train station and the location was perfect to move around
- Denise (8/5): - The hotel is simple but cozy - I stayed in a room with a bathroom. It was very clean and comfortable.
Breakfast was simple, but adequate.
- Virginia (10/5): - I recommend this hotel for its easy to get around location.
- Anna (8/5): - The staff are very helpful and friendly and when we checked in the guy on reception offered to let us leave our bags there after check out, as we had a late flight, without us even asking - which was very nice.
The hotel is extremely well lcated for both transport links and for visiting the main sites of Venice.
The breakfast is basic, but adequate. Our room was quite small and basic (no TV, fridge etc.). But, for the time of year we stayed, it was good value for money.
- Michelle (10/5): - An adorable place overlooking canal. Our room had a window that opened right o er canal and although not all rooms do, there is a beautiful shared outdoor patio with flower boxes, tables and chairs overlooking the beautiful canal view. Very clean, very cosy and great staff with a breakfast imcluded!
- Jacob (10/5): - Quaint rustic hotel right along the canal. Lots of character with old world charm. Our room had a window that looked onto the canal. Hotel was very clean and the breakfast was decent. Staff was very friendly and held our bags for the day after checkout for no cost. I will choose this hotel again on my next trip to Venice.
- Larissa (10/5): - the staff were so friendly and made dalla mora feel so homey. the hotel has two buildings, one with just rooms and one with the front desk breakfast area, and it's right on a canal so the view from our room was lovely. the included breakfast was super convenient too! overall we had a great time staying here and would definitely recommend it!! ❤️
- Leigh Ann (8/5): - Great location, breakfast was great. Just wish we had known we booked a room with a shared bathroom.
- Jonathan (10/5): - The property was exactly as the prescription described. We had a very nice stay.
- Nick (10/5): Value, Ambiance and Location - Perfect, small hotel. Good breakfast (egg, cheese, cookies, fresh croissants, juice), very nice staff. Room was spacious. Location nice. Very good value.
- damien (8/5): - Small apartment very well situated with a good breakfast. Will recommend
- Giawayrigiah (8/5): - Very good location within walking distance of railway station and bus station which makes it convenient for transfer to airport. Hotel is clean, staff is nice and responsive, and breakfast is good for price.
- Alyssia (10/5): - Good price quality ratio in Venice. Very helpful hotel owner.
- Peter (8/5): An inexpensive option - This was a good, cheap option for a one-night stop in Venice. The room and the bed were large. It was convenient, but a bit odd, to have a shower stall right next to my bed! The staff was nice. The breakfast was rather minimal.
- Rosa (8/5): - Location is great!
- Sandra (8/5): Great location clean pleasant - Great room great location good staff. Only issue was a bit noisy due to party going on somewhere fairly close. Apart from that really good. Venice as a whole very intriguing city but needs a little more visitor friendly street directions. Extremely easy to get lost and considering it is tourist town some better street signs would be more helpful.
- kritesh (8/5): Excellent - Amazing. Best breakfast in town.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Close to restaurants and shops. Lovely staff, good facilities and breakfast!
- Catheriine (10/5): Wonderful time! - Our room was very clean and comfortable! The owner Francisco was very kind, friendly, helpful and informative. At the reception, Alviso helped us with some information too and at breakfast room, Valeria helped us kindly with the breakfast. The location is very near to the bus, vaporetto and railway station.
We really enjoyed our stay and we will definitely recommend to our friends.
- Jacques (10/5): - This is an amazing little hotel right on the canal. We had a clean, quiet, comfortable room with AC and plenty of hot water. There were lots of options for breakfast. The staff were all friendly and helpful. The rooftop patio is an added bonus. We sat out there every evening enjoying wine and snacks, while watching the gondolas slip by.
- Radmila (8/5): - The hotel is in a great location, served excellent breakfast, the staff was helpful, all was clean. The only limitation was a shared bathroom with toilet, which is quite common in this area...
- Janice (10/5): - Perfect location for exploring Venice! Rooms are basic but beds are comfortable and breakfast is tasty. Manager is very accommodating, make sure you check out the terrace!
- elaine (8/5): - Nice clean room with fan and shared bathroom overlooking a canal. It was 5-10 minutes walk to the vaporetto stop and easy walking distance to many sites. Breakfast basic but sufficient. The owners and staff very friendly amd helpful.
- Jon (10/5): - Location is excellent near Piazzale Roma bus station and the main train station. At most three bridges to cross with luggage. Staff were superb, hotel is easy to find. This is a one star hotel (it is on their sign) but they far surpassed our expectations.
We stayed in building across the alley with shared bathroom. Always clean and always available for our use. It was HOT during our stay, lack of AC was rough but they provided large standing fan, showered before bed and survived.
Would definitely stay again, probably not in the summer
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Location is property's strength. Price is good. Lack of air conditioning on very hot days is an issue.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Location was perfect! Simple walk to the city center, but still easily accessible from the station
- Verified traveler (10/5): Excellent Service - Booked for a spontaneous night in Venice, was perfect given the price, clean and tidy and the owner spoke english to us which was very helpful!
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Lovely, helpful staff. No views of the canal but it is on a little canal.
- Verified traveler (4/5): - Air condition not working no tv por breakfast
::hhhhhhhhhhhh
- an (10/5): allowed early 9:10 am check in, late Nov. - great location, value, allowed early 9:10 am check in, late Nov., easy to find
- Susan (10/5): Great location at good price - Clean and comfortable in a great location. Friendly staff. Accurate description on website. Would stay here again.
- Francisco (10/5): Nice location and clean. - We were for only one night but it was a nice place and very clean. It has a nice location very close to Piazzale Roma and Train Station. (Main stations in Venice) Walking distance is 5-10 min. Can be a little hard to find the place, but overall everything is hard to find in Venice. We recommend this place for sure if you want something affordable, clean and very close to the station.
- Joyce (6/5): Hotel Della Mora - It was okay, you get what you pay for. Breakfast was nice.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Nice location close to RR station. About 20 minute walk to Doges palace.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - Adequate property in great location, minutes walk from bus and rail station. Shared bathroom down the hall gives a hostel vibe, except guests are mature (in 50s & 60s). Perfunctory comforts. V small rooms, but they're clean. Beds and pillows very hard by American standards. Breakfast gets the job done if you're satisfied with cereal, bread, and hard boiled eggs (really, nothing else). American coffee.
Not such a crazy, crowded neighborhood. A few deliberate wrong turns takes you off tourist superhighway and into neighborhoods where people live, and those are lovely
- Verified traveler (8/5): - Fantastic location. Friendly staff. Decent breakfast.
The only issues I had was the is no cooling or fans. The room gets a little hot at night and we went able to open the window due to mosquitoes. There isn't a kettle in the room and the kitchen area is only open at breakfast so want able to get hot water I'd I wanted to make a tea or coffee.
Apart from that, enjoyed my stay.
- Verified traveler (6/5): - did not like the room, shared bathroom adjacent to our room did not seem to be a good experience
- Prashan (10/5): - (+) 1. The hotel is strategically located in the island of Venice. It takes only 10-15 min to reach the St. Lucia train station or 10 min walk to Piazzale Rome.
(+) 2. The staffs are very friendly and caring
(+) 3. The price of the hotel is very reasonable considering its good scenic location, plus it offers are a decent breakfast.
(+) 4. The hotel is well managed and its interiors are very clean and organized.
- Ainsley (8/5): Convenient and clean - Really well situated, just a short walk from the bus station, a boon with cases! Right on the edge of the action, in town, and a very nice breakfast. Good value and position, but no fridge in the room.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great location, right on a canal, wonderful host, good breakfast, nice comfortable room.
- Verified traveler (8/5): Basic but good - My wife and I have just spent a couple of nights at the Dalla Mora prior to going on a cruise. We chose the hotel as we would be arriving by bus and leaving via the cruise port and its location meant that we did not have to pull the suitcases very far - it was easy to find. The location is down a quiet street with rooms on either side of that street. We were on the second floor on the side away from the reception and breakfast room. The stairs were not easy to negotiate with heavy bags but we managed. The room was a good size, extremely clean and had a shower. The toilet was shared with 3 other rooms but this was never an issue.
Breakfast was a very basic buffet but it was enough for us. Plenty of coffee and juices were available along with cereal, boiled eggs and pastries. The reception staff were very friendly and helpful
There are a number of good restaurants and bars close by which were good value. It was easy to get to the vaporetto or if you prefer walking through the magnificent streets and squares of Venice then the location is great.
If you want a 5 star experience with all mod cons in the room, then this hotel is not for you. We merely slept there and very comfortable it was too and would recommend it as a base for those of a similar mind.
- Susan (10/5): Great location - Great hotel, great location very friendly staff everything ok with room great view of canal local for bus nd train station. Water bus to grand canal only 5 minutes away. Will definitely go back
- Nancy (8/5): Hard to find but a great value - A wonderful property when you can find it. My mapping program failed me on the address. The hosts were friendly and ru location was convenient. Rooms were sparse but spacious and even though we shared a toilet with the others on the floor, the room had its own shower.
- Amy (10/5): Gorgeous hotel and great location - We were treated so beautifully. The owner even brought wine to our room as we were here for our honeymoon. We loved the location, right next to the beach, restaurants and shops.
Aegina is such a perfect island. We couldn't have been happier.
- David (8/5): - Location good. Breakfast good. Staff good. Room small but clean.
- Verified traveler (10/5): - Great staff, very kind and helpful
- Verified traveler (8/5): Independent hotel close to the station - Good location, it's about a leisurely 15 minute walk from Venezia St Lucia station. Lots of nice restaurants and Venezian artisan shops close by. Quick walk to the water taxi and Gondola stations. Most buildings in the island of Venice are centuries old and this one is no exception, so they have some intricacies you need to be aware of. The rooms are not going to be big, and the plumbing systems can't handle multiple WCs so you might have a shared one. At least this hotel has a shower en suite. I don't think it would be an issue to add an internal AC though, so be aware that the lack thereof can lead to some hot and stuffy nights. Apart from this, it's a decent place and the breakfast spread is good, in contrast to what you will get at most places in Italy.
Keep in mind you will need a water taxi or water bus to get to San Marco square, but that's ok by me as I'd rather not contend with the 'swarming hordes' of that side of Venice
- Ana (8/5): Very good - Very good location, it has river view
The room is comfortable
It have all we need
- Hugh (10/5): Little gem of a place - Lovely little hotel in just the right area of town. Quiet and secluded with a small balcony over looking the canal
- Barbara (10/5): Nice Place - Wonderful location with view of canal out our window. Nice breakfast and helpful staff. Better deal than more expensive places.
- Jane (8/5): Older hotel in a great location - My single room was very small, but the location on the canel more than made up for it.
- Tara (10/5): Reasonable & Easy Place to Find & Stay In Venice! - I needed a very last minute place to stay at a reasonable price since I was only going to there for a few hours to see friends and sleep before I had to catch an early flight. Hotel Dalla Mora was just what I was looking for! From what I could tell it was a family run place and I think the owners even lived there too. I liked that, its rare you find that any more. The room was small, but the bed was super comfy, and the wifi worked and shower worked great and that's all I needed for my quick stop in Venice. Thanks!
- Alexa (4/5): OK - not the best. - Firstly, this feels more of a B&B than a hotel.
If you are looking for a nice hotel with a bar and down stair seating, this is not the place for you.
Although the room did have an ensuite which was not guaranteed, there was no TV in the room.
There was also a leak in the room that dripped onto the bed. I went to voice my concerns however despite what it states on the arrival sheet that someone is there in case of problems, no one was there. On the plus side, it was close to the bus and train station.
I think this could of been a nice place but due to personal experience I would not stay here again or recommend to a friend.
- catmom (10/5): Good Location - It’s a nice walking distance to the train station. They serve breakfast. The room that we got has shared bathroom but it is ALWAYS clean. The sinks inside our room is very convenient. The room that we got has a nice “Venice” window view appeal.
- Abbie (8/5): Clean and comfy - My partner and I have just come back from a stay in this lovely hotel. We had a decent sized room with a shower inside. It would have been nice to overlook the water and to also have a toilet in the room but what we had was nice. The breakfast was really nice and the reception man was very nice... He helped explain directions to us and he let us keep our suitcases with him for the whole day after we checked out. It was a lovely hotel and I would go again.
